Flyers Re-Sign Schenn To Two-Year Deal

News: Brayden Schenn re-signed with the Flyers on Monday on a two-year contract worth $5 million, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn cranked his game up a notch in his third NHL season, setting career highs in goals (20), assists (21) and penalty minutes (54) while appearing in all 82 regular-season contests for the Flyers. At just 22 years old, the potential exists within Schenn to assume an even larger portion of the scoring burden for the Flyers in the seasons to come. If he continues to develop, this contract will look like a bargain.

Flyers' Schenn Scores Twice

News: Brayden Schenn scored two goals, including the game-winner and a power-play tally, against the Sabres on Sunday.
Analysis: This gives Brayden Schenn 20 goals on the season, the first time he's hit that number in his NHL career.

Schenn Scores In Flyers' Win

News: Brayden Schenn scored a goal, collected two PIM, and added four hits for good measure in Sunday's 4-3 win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn has stepped up his offensive game recently. In the 10 games before the Olympic break, he managed just two points and two PIM. Since that break, he's already notched five points and four PIM in just eight games. He could offer some value in deeper leagues, especially if the Flyers can continue the momentum from this weekend's wins against Pittsburgh.

Flyers' Schenn: Bright Spot In Blowout Loss

News: Brayden Schenn scored his 16th goal and was one of only two Flyers to finish with a positive rating in Thursday's 7-3 loss to San Jose.
Analysis: That's goals in consecutive games, with an Olympic-sized break in between, for the 22-year-old forward. He'd gone six straight without a point before these last two contests, though, so Brayden Schenn's still looking for greater consistency.

Flyers' Schenn Gets Goal No. 15

News: Brayden Schenn scored his 15th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn's laser from the left circle tipped off goalie Reto Berra's glove into the net for the first score of the game. The 22-year-old has shown modest growth in his third full season in Philadelphia, tallying 32 points, 48 penalty minutes and 135 hits in his 59 games.

Flyers' Schenn Scores In Win

News: Brayden Schenn scored his 12th goal of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: After 47 games last season, Brayden Schenn posted eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points. After 47 games this year, he's notched four more goals (12) and collected 29 total points. While those numbers don't yet qualify as elite, the 22-year-old center is trending upward.

Schenn's Overtime Tally Carries Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn scored his 11th goal of the season in overtime Tuesday to secure a win over the Devils. He also picked up the primary assist on Scott Hartnell's second-period goal.
Analysis: That makes goals in four of the last five games for Brayden Schenn, and he's added three assists in that span as well. One of the most talented young power forwards in the NHL, Schenn may finally be breaking out as a scorer. Monitor closely.

Three Points For Flyers' Schenn In Win

News: Brayden Schenn netted a goal and added two assists in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: This is only Brayden Schenn's third multi-point game. He now has a respectable 24 points this season, but needs to find some consistency to be a staple in most lineups.

Flyers' B. Schenn To Play Thursday

News: Coach Craig Berube confirmed Brayden Schenn (neck) will play Thursday against Columbus, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Remarkably, Brayden Schenn won't even be a game-time decision after looking just fine during morning skate. The forward has contributed assists in three of his last four games and should be safe for fantasy owners to use against the Blue Jackets.

Flyers' Schenn Participates In Morning Skate

News: Brayden Schenn (neck) was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate, CSN Philly's Sarah Baicker reports.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn is still considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, but it appears the Flyers are proceeding with the expectation that he'll be available. Considering the viciousness of the hit to the head he took from the Caps' Tom Wilson on Tuesday, it would be surprising if he were to take the ice Thursday.

Flyers' Schenn Not Concussed

News: Brayden Schenn (neck) does not have a concussion, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Analysis: Amazingly, it appears that the center escaped Tuesday's scary incident without suffering a concussion at all. He did admit he still has a stiff neck, but could be in the lineup Thursday against the Blue Jackets.

Flyers Think Schenn Is OK After Hit

News: The Flyers believe Brayden Schenn is okay after he was drilled into the boards by the Capitals' Tom Wilson on Tuesday, but more definitive information about his status will be announced Wednesday, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi reports.
Analysis: In the meantime, we'll hear plenty of debate on both sides about whether Wilson's hit was clean and what discipline (if any) he should face. We'll have more information about Brayden Schenn as it becomes available.

Flyers' Schenn Leaves With Injury

News: Brayden Schenn left Tuesday's game after he was drilled into the boards by the Capitals' Tom Wilson, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn hasn't officially been ruled out for a return, but it was a truly vicious hit by Wilson, who blindsided Schenn into the boards and incited a minor brawl. Schenn was able to get to his feet just seconds after colliding with the boards, only to fall back down to the ice woozy. It's entirely possible he sustained a concussion as a result of the hit, though that likely won't be determined until after the game.

Flyers' Schenn Scores Twice In Win

News: Brayden Schenn potted two goals in Wednesday night's 2-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn also led all skaters with six hits, and ended the contest with a plus-1 rating. The center has been on a tear lately, and now has five points in his last three games.

Flyers' Schenn Wakes Up Offensively

News: Brayden Schenn scored a power-play goal and assisted on an even-strength tally in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Senators.
Analysis: He worked well with Vinny Lecavalier in this one, helping out on the veteran's goal and getting set up by Lecavalier for his man-advantage tally. Like the rest of the Flyers, Brayden Schenn's started slow, but with 10 points and 22 PIMs in 17 games this year, he's at least provided some help to fantasy owners -- and still has a ton of upside.

Flyers' L. Schenn: First Goal In Nine Games

News: Brayden Schenn scored his first goal in nine games in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Devils. It was the game winner.
Analysis: He has just three goals and four assists in 13 games, a number that's lower than what was expected from this fifth overall pick (2009). You might have to sit him until he rights the ship.

Schenn Scores In Flyers' First Win

News: Brayden Schenn wristed a rebound past Panthers goalie Tim Thomas for his second goal of the year in Tuesday's win.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn was in a fortuitous position when Jakub Voracek's shot caromed off the boards and landed on his stick right in front of the net. Schenn recorded just eight goals in 47 games last season, so he's on pace to smash that mark. Playing alongside Voracek certainly increases his scoring opportunities.

Schenn Scores Lone Goal In Flyers' Loss

News: Brayden Schenn scored the Flyers' only goal in their season opening loss to the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn's inclusion on the first line in the season opener was a bit of a surprise, but the decision looked prophetic after he knocked home a Vinny Lecavalier pass with just seconds remaining in the first period. Unfortunately, the Flyers weren't able to muster any further offensive momentum on the night, with the score proving to be Schenn's only shot on goal of the night. However, he was able to mix it up later on with the Leafs' Joffrey Lupul, earning five penalty minutes for his efforts.

Schenn Finally Nets One For Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn scored his seventh goal of the season as the Flyers won their fourth consecutive game Thursday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: It was the first goal since February for Brayden Schenn who didn't manage a single goal in March. He has also scored points in three of his last four games. This coincides with a surge that the Flyers are on as they try to make the playoffs. If the team continues on this path then Schenn will probably be a player to get into the lineup.

Schenn Tallies Assist For Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn picked up an assist Sunday against Washington, his second straight game with a helper.
Analysis: These two games comes on the heels of a 10-game pointless streak in which he also posted a miserable minus-11. Brayden Schenn has a respectable 21 points in 34 games, with nine coming on the power-play unit. He's still got a major role in the Philadelphia offense, and the Flyers will need more production from the young center to make a run at a playoff spot.

Schenn Remains Cold For Flyers

News: In his last nine games Brayden Schenn has managed only one assist for the Flyers.
Analysis: The streaky Brayden Schenn is now on an extended cold streak, posting only two points in the last 12 games. He has been a drag on plus/minus as well with a minus-10 for the month of March. He is not one of the two or three Flyers that should be in your lineup.

Brayden Schenn Cools Down For Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn has been scoreless in the last two games and has only two assists in his last five games.
Analysis: After putting up 17 points in the first 19 games, Brayden Schenn has cooled off a bit. He has been a little streaky with the goals as well. He started the season six games without a goal and now has five straight without a tally. However, he managed six goals in the 13 games in between. Keep him in your lineup because he may be due for another streak soon.

Schenn Comes Up Big For Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn scored two goals and an assist Saturday, as the Flyers defeated Winnipeg, 5-2.
Analysis: Brayden Schenn racked up three points total (2G, 1A) which included two points on the power play. The downside was that he was minus-1 and only logged 13:09 of ice time. You get a lot of bang for the buck with Schenn, but he will probably be a drag on your average total ice time.

Schenn Continues Hot February For Flyers

News: Brayden Schenn scored a goal and added an assist Monday afternoon as the Flyers whipped the Isles, 7-0.
Analysis: After scoring just two points in January, the younger of the two Flying Brayden Schenns has tallied 11 points in 10 February games. This brings his season total to 13 points (4 G, 9 A) in 16 games. This may represent a breakout for the young center as he managed only 18 points in 54 games last season.

Three-Point Effort From Flyers' Schenn

News: Brayden Schenn had a goal and two assists along with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's win over Carolina.
Analysis: After struggling in January, Brayden Schenn has gone on a tear recently, picking up six points (2 G, 4 A) over his last five games. In formats where he was cut loose after the slow start, he's definitely worth consideration as he's seen more playing time of late.
