Panthers' Kulikov Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov notched his fifth assist in as many games during Monday's 4-1 loss against the Wild.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov's assist came after his slapshot was tipped in by Shawn Thornton in the second period. He also contributed three shots on goal and was a plus-1 rating, being the only plus player for Florida. Kulikov has seemed to find his offensive game of late, compiling five assists --one on the power-play-- in his last five games.

Kulikov Gets Assist In Return For Florida

News: Dmitry Kulikov assisted on the first goal of the contest in Thursday's shootout win against the Sharks.
Analysis: After missing four games due to injury, Dmitry Kulikov returned to the lineup in a big way for the Panthers. His first shot on goal was tipped in by Nick Bjugstad to give him his fifth assist on the season. He also had two penalty minutes with three shots on goal and a team-high five blocked shots. Florida did not ease him into the lineup because he ended up playing 23:42 of ice time, which was only behind Brian Campbell. He also played 3:48 minutes on the second unit power play. The only concern is Aaron Ekblad has taken his usual spot on the first power play unit since he was out with the knee injury. Unless Ekblad has a bit of a slump, don't expect Kulikov to see top-unit minutes any time soon.

Panthers' Kulikov To Play Thursday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Sharks, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov missed the previous four games with the injury, but resumed practicing Monday and should be prepared to play his usual 20-plus minutes versus San Jose. The Panthers will scratch Colby Robak to make room for Kulikov's return.

Panthers' Kulikov Ruled Out Tuesday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will not return to action Tuesday against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov appears close to a return after participating fully in Monday's session, but coach Gerard Gallant might want to see him log a little more practice time before giving him the green light to play. Colby Robak will occupy Kulikov's spot in the lineup Tuesday for the fourth straight contest.

Panthers' Kulikov Practices

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) practiced with the team Monday afternoon, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: It looked like there was a good chance Dmitry Kulikov would make it back in the lineup over the weekend, but he ended up sitting out. He participated fully at Monday's practice, though, so expect him to suit up for Tuesday's game against the Kings unless we hear otherwise.

Panthers' Kulikov To Skate Friday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will resume skating Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov still appears to be on track to return to action Sunday against the Ducks, as the Panthers only projected a two-game absence for the blueliner. Colby Robak took his spot in the lineup Tuesday and will presumably be called upon to fill in for Kulikov again in Friday's game against the Islanders before returning to his usual duties as the team's seventh defenseman.

Panthers' Kulikov Out For Next Two Games

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) is expected to miss only the next two games before returning to action Sunday against the Ducks, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov fell victim to the knee injury during Saturday's game against the Flames, but he was cleared of any structural damage. He's set to undergo another check-up MRI in the near future before joining the team for its West Coast trip over the weekend. Colby Robak is set to assume a lineup spot for the next two games while Kulikov heals up.

Panthers' Kulikov (Knee) Has No Severe Damage

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) underwent an MRI on Sunday and early indications suggest that the injury he suffered Saturday is not overly serious, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov departed Saturday's game in the second period after colliding with Flames' forward Lance Bouma. With the team off Sunday, official word on Kulikov's condition likely will not come until Monday, but as of now it appears the defenseman has avoided a serious injury. That's good news for Florida, as Kulikov has four assists in 12 games this season and is averaging more than 20 minutes off ice time per game.

Panthers' Kulikov Leaves With Injury

News: Dmitry Kulikov left Saturday's game against the Flames with a knee injury and is not expected to return, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: There will likely be an update on Dmitry Kulikov's condition after the game, but it's probably safest to consider him day-to-day for now. The blueliner has recorded two assists in 11 games so far this season.

Panthers' Kulikov Credited With PP Assist In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov was awarded an assist on the power play in a 4-1 loss to the Flyers on Thursday.
Analysis: The assist is only Dmitry Kulikov's second of the season but that is not for a lack of playing time. Off to a slow start, Kulikov has zero goals and two assists with a minus-1 rating. He is still being heavily relied on to generate offence, seeing 2:49 of power play time per game. This is second highest on the team and it will most likely remain that way unless Aaron Ekblad is used more throughout the season. Kulikov should be an option only in medium to deep leagues, because of the lack of waiver wire players that see first unit power play time.

Panthers' Kulikov Becoming A Leader

News: Dmitry Kulikov only has one assist in his first six games this season, but he is playing the best hockey of his career, Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov should be available in almost all fantasy formats because of his slow start and he has been forgotten about since the Panthers drafted Aaron Ekblad with the No. 1 pick overall last summer. What fantasy owners might not realize is that Kulikov is playing a career-high 24 minutes a game and leading the team with 161 shifts. The more noteworthy statistic is that he is second on the team only to Brian Campbell in power play ice time. Once Florida starts putting the puck in the net, Kulikov should be a consideration and a potential 25-35 point guy.

Panthers' Kulikov Returns To Practice

News: Dmitry Kulikov (foot) returned to practice Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov was back on the ice a night after injuring his foot while blocking a puck in the Panthers' preseason contest. While the team could limit his activity over the next couple of days, it looks like he's going to be good to go for the start of the regular season.

Panthers' Kulikov Suffers Minor Foot Injury

News: Dmitry Kulikov suffered a minor foot injury in Thursday's game against the Lightning, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov is considered day-to-day with the injury, as it was determined nothing is broken. It's unclear if he will participate in the team's preseason finale Saturday, but he will should be available for the start of the regular season.

Panthers Sign Kulikov To Three-Year Deal

News: Dmitry Kulikov agreed to terms with the Panthers on a three-year, $13 million deal Friday, TSN reports.
Analysis: The 23-year-old defenseman appeared in 81 games last season, notching eight goals and 11 assists for a total of 19 points. He also logged 66 penalty minutes but posted a minus-26 rating.

Panthers' Kulikov Scores Power-Play Goal Friday

News: Dmitry Kulikov scored his seventh goal of the season during the Panthers' 2-0 win over Buffalo on Friday.
Analysis: The goal, scored on the power play, was Dmitry Kulikov's first in nine games. The defenseman now has seven goals and six assists through 63 games this year and isn't much of a recommended fantasy player outside of some of the deeper leagues.

Panthers' Kulikov Scores In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov scored his sixth goal of the season in Thursday night's 6-3 loss in Toronto.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov has now scored four goals in his last seven games. The 23-year-old Russian has picked up his play significantly during this stretch and is consistently logging top-four minutes, as well as power-play time for the club. He is worth the add in most leagues due to his upside.

Panthers' Kulikov Scores In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov scored his fourth goal of the season in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov's rough 2013-14 campaign has so far been highlighted by tying his career-high in penalty minutes, as well as posting a career-low minus-8 rating. Despite Tuesday's score, he's still not a highly recommended play moving forward in most formats.

Panthers' Kulikov Actually Scores

News: Dmitry Kulikov scored his third goal of the season in Saturday's loss to Carolina.
Analysis: He continues to disappoint this season and his name is constantly rumored to be on the trading block. Right now, his fantasy value is limited because of his lack of production and his plus-minus anchor (minus-11).

Panthers' Kulikov Scratched For Mistakes

News: Dmitry Kulikov was a healthy scratch on Tuesday and has not made a great impression with new coach Peter Horachek thus far, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Horachek has not been impressed with the mistake-prone defenseman during his short tenure with the club and finally decided to put Dmitry Kulikov in the press box for his poor play. Although Kulikov is only 23 years old, he's quickly losing the promise that he displayed when he tallied 28 points in 58 games during the 2011-12 season. So far this season, he has just a goal and two assists in 27 games, while adding 35 PIM. Kulikov is only an option in very deep or keeper formats at this point.

Panthers' Kulikov Snaps Early Funk

News: Dmitry Kulikov finally collected his first point of the year Tuesday, scoring a goal in a loss to the Blackhawks. He also went plus-1 and racked up four PIMs, four hits and four blocked shots.
Analysis: The goal was an unassisted one, coming off a nice takeaway by Dmitry Kulikov. Even this modestly productive game is a huge boon to fantasy owners of the young defenseman, as he went scoreless with a minus-4 rating and just five shots on goal in his first nine games this year.

Panthers' Kulikov: Three-Point Outing

News: Dmitry Kulikov (shoulder) scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's shootout loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Is this the season he pushes his offensive game to the next level? He teased us with his 28 points in 58 games in 2011-12, but suffered through shoulder issues last year. Target him as a late, risk-reward guy.

Panthers' Kulikov Sees Steady Minutes

News: Dmitry Kulikov (shoulder) played 19:41 -- including 2:12 on the power play -- and was minus-1 against Dallas on Wednesday.
Analysis: There was some confusion as far as when Dmitry Kulikov would receive the green light from team doctor for full clearance, but his early return to game action in the preseason should serve as an indication that he'll be ready to handle a significant role on the Florida blue line when the regular season begins.

Panthers' Kulikov (Shoulder) Waiting To Receive Clearance

News: Dmitry Kulikov (shoulder) has resumed skating but is still awaiting clearance from team doctors to return to the ice for training camp, the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov has been skating for six weeks now and doesn't anticipate he'll have any problems gaining clearance from doctors following April surgery. The defenseman registered 10 points and a minus-5 rating over 34 games last season.

News: Dmitry Kulikov recently had surgery performed on his right shoulder, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Panthers' Kulikov Done For The Season

News: Dmitry Kulikov (undisclosed) will miss the rest of the season, Christina De Nicola of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Details of Dmitry Kulikov's injury remain unavailable, but he will not play again during the current campaign. Since a more serious injury likely would have been revealed, it does not seem the setback will affect him come next season.
