Panthers' Kulikov Notches Assist In Win

News: Dmitry Kulikov recorded a power-play assist in Saturday's win over the Senators.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov one of three special-teams goals on the day for the Panthers, who drew within one point of the Senators for ninth place in the Eastern Conference with the victory. The 24-year-old blueliner has three goals and 20 points in 67 games this season.

Panthers' Kulikov Goes Gordie Howe

News: Dmitry Kulikov notched a Gordie Howe hat trick Thursday against the Stars, with a goal, an assist and a fight. He ended up with seven PIM and a plus-1 rating.
Analysis: A terrific game for Dmitry Kulikov, who had gone eight straight without reaching the scoresheet. He flashes hints of his high-end potential here and there, but Kulikov's points have been too few and far between this year, as he has just 18 in 56 games, though at least he's added 46 PIM, 80 hits and 71 blocks.

Panthers' Kulikov Reinstated

News: Dmitry Kulikov has been reinstated from his suspension and will return Sunday, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Kulkov was suspended four games for his hit on the Stars' Tyler Seguin, and those contests have now past. He will likely return to the lineup Sunday, as Shane O'Brien was re-assigned to the AHL.

Panthers' Kulikov Suspended Four Games

News: Dmitry Kulikov has been handed a four-game suspension by the league for his hit on the Stars' Tyler Seguin in Friday's loss, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov only had five points in the past 20 games and the 15 penalty minutes he picked up on the hit nearly doubled his total from 21 to 36. Kulikov is eligible to return on Sunday for their tilt against the Penguins.

Panthers' Kulikov Suspended Indefinitely

News: Dmitry Kulikov was suspended indefinitely Saturday for his hit on forward Tyler Seguin in Friday's loss to the Stars, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov has been offered an in-person hearing with the Department of Player Safety, which typically indicates a ban of five or more games. With news surfacing Saturday that Seguin would miss approximately 2-to-4 weeks with a knee injury, Kulikov's suspension could end up approaching a similar length of time. Fantasy owners relying on Kulikov for TOI stabilization should start scrambling for another option on defense.

Panthers' Kulikov Could Face Suspension

News: Dmitry Kulikov received a five-minute major for clipping and a 10-minute game misconduct Friday for a hit he dished out on Stars forward Tyler Seguin.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov caught Seguin with a low hit that upended him just inside the Florida blueline. The incident occurred with 6:55 remaining in regulation and sent Seguin, the NHL's third-leading scorer, sprawling to the ice. Seguin left the game and did not return, with Stars coach Lindy Ruff saying afterward that he expected the forward to miss "some time." Kulikov is fourth on the Panthers in average ice time this season (21:50) and has no history of suspensions. That could definitely change, as his hit Friday could be worthy of supplementary discipline. We will likely know more Saturday.

Panthers' Kulikov (Undisclosed) Will Play Friday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (undisclosed) will play Friday against the Stars, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Kulkov reportedly suffered the injury late in Thursday's game against the Wild, but will be back in the lineup Friday. The blueliner has 16 points in 48 games this season, including two in the past four contests, and will look to add another to that total Friday.

Panthers' Kulikov Suffers Injury Late Thursday

News: Dmitry Kulikov suffered an undisclosed injury late in Thursday's loss to the Wild, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov was not made available to the media after the loss, so the extent and nature of his injury remain unknown. The Panthers won't hold a morning skate in advance of Friday's match against the Stars, so it looks like he could go down as a game-time decision.

Panthers' Kulikov Assists On Game-Winner

News: Dmitry Kulikov assisted on Sean Bergenheim's game-winning power-play goal Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Bergenheim deflected Dmitry Kulikov's shot with 6:52 remaining off the ice and into the net for the deciding tally. The 2009 first-rounder has yet to deliver the offense the Panthers were counting on when they drafted him 14th overall, but he should still be able to maintain some relevance in deeper formats.

Panthers' Kulikov (Illness) Returns Sunday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (illness) will return the the lineup Sunday against the Oilers, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov didn't play Friday due to the flu, and didn't practice Saturday either. It appears he is feeling healthy enough to return Sunday, and he will look to add to his point total (12) while trying to keep the Oilers off the scoreboard.

Florida's Kulikov (Illness) Doesn't Skate Saturday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (illness) didn't participate in Saturday's practice, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: A case of the flu prevented Dmitry Kulikov from suiting up for Friday's game against the Flames and looks to be at missing the Panthers' contest Sunday in Edmonton. Coach Gerard Gallant said the team hasn't ruled Kulikov out for the game, but he'll probably need to participate in the team's morning skate to have any shot at suiting up.

Panthers' Kulikov Out Friday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (illness) will not play Friday against the Flames, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov reportedly has the flu, and will not be able to suit up Friday against Calgary. Erik Gudbranson will enter the lineup as the Panthers' six defender in Kulikov's absence.

Panthers' Kulikov Scores First Of Season

News: Dmitry Kulikov scored his first goal of the season and added an assist in Sunday's win over Toronto.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov now has 11 points in 29 games, to go with a minus-4 rating. Averaging 22:27 of ice time on Florida's second defensive pairing, Kulikov could hit the 30-point mark in his sixth NHL season. While he's a decent option in deeper formats, the 24-year-old has been too inconsistent this season to be depended on in shallower leagues. After scoring eight times in 2013-14, Kulikov has managed just one goal this time around. He's still worth a look in some deep leagues, as the Panthers are rolling, having won four of their past five games.

Panthers' Kulikov Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov notched his fifth assist in as many games during Monday's 4-1 loss against the Wild.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov's assist came after his slapshot was tipped in by Shawn Thornton in the second period. He also contributed three shots on goal and was a plus-1 rating, being the only plus player for Florida. Kulikov has seemed to find his offensive game of late, compiling five assists --one on the power-play-- in his last five games.

Kulikov Gets Assist In Return For Florida

News: Dmitry Kulikov assisted on the first goal of the contest in Thursday's shootout win against the Sharks.
Analysis: After missing four games due to injury, Dmitry Kulikov returned to the lineup in a big way for the Panthers. His first shot on goal was tipped in by Nick Bjugstad to give him his fifth assist on the season. He also had two penalty minutes with three shots on goal and a team-high five blocked shots. Florida did not ease him into the lineup because he ended up playing 23:42 of ice time, which was only behind Brian Campbell. He also played 3:48 minutes on the second unit power play. The only concern is Aaron Ekblad has taken his usual spot on the first power play unit since he was out with the knee injury. Unless Ekblad has a bit of a slump, don't expect Kulikov to see top-unit minutes any time soon.

Panthers' Kulikov To Play Thursday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Sharks, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov missed the previous four games with the injury, but resumed practicing Monday and should be prepared to play his usual 20-plus minutes versus San Jose. The Panthers will scratch Colby Robak to make room for Kulikov's return.

Panthers' Kulikov Ruled Out Tuesday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will not return to action Tuesday against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov appears close to a return after participating fully in Monday's session, but coach Gerard Gallant might want to see him log a little more practice time before giving him the green light to play. Colby Robak will occupy Kulikov's spot in the lineup Tuesday for the fourth straight contest.

Panthers' Kulikov Practices

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) practiced with the team Monday afternoon, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: It looked like there was a good chance Dmitry Kulikov would make it back in the lineup over the weekend, but he ended up sitting out. He participated fully at Monday's practice, though, so expect him to suit up for Tuesday's game against the Kings unless we hear otherwise.

Panthers' Kulikov To Skate Friday

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) will resume skating Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov still appears to be on track to return to action Sunday against the Ducks, as the Panthers only projected a two-game absence for the blueliner. Colby Robak took his spot in the lineup Tuesday and will presumably be called upon to fill in for Kulikov again in Friday's game against the Islanders before returning to his usual duties as the team's seventh defenseman.

Panthers' Kulikov Out For Next Two Games

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) is expected to miss only the next two games before returning to action Sunday against the Ducks, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov fell victim to the knee injury during Saturday's game against the Flames, but he was cleared of any structural damage. He's set to undergo another check-up MRI in the near future before joining the team for its West Coast trip over the weekend. Colby Robak is set to assume a lineup spot for the next two games while Kulikov heals up.

Panthers' Kulikov (Knee) Has No Severe Damage

News: Dmitry Kulikov (knee) underwent an MRI on Sunday and early indications suggest that the injury he suffered Saturday is not overly serious, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov departed Saturday's game in the second period after colliding with Flames' forward Lance Bouma. With the team off Sunday, official word on Kulikov's condition likely will not come until Monday, but as of now it appears the defenseman has avoided a serious injury. That's good news for Florida, as Kulikov has four assists in 12 games this season and is averaging more than 20 minutes off ice time per game.

Panthers' Kulikov Leaves With Injury

News: Dmitry Kulikov left Saturday's game against the Flames with a knee injury and is not expected to return, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: There will likely be an update on Dmitry Kulikov's condition after the game, but it's probably safest to consider him day-to-day for now. The blueliner has recorded two assists in 11 games so far this season.

Panthers' Kulikov Credited With PP Assist In Loss

News: Dmitry Kulikov was awarded an assist on the power play in a 4-1 loss to the Flyers on Thursday.
Analysis: The assist is only Dmitry Kulikov's second of the season but that is not for a lack of playing time. Off to a slow start, Kulikov has zero goals and two assists with a minus-1 rating. He is still being heavily relied on to generate offence, seeing 2:49 of power play time per game. This is second highest on the team and it will most likely remain that way unless Aaron Ekblad is used more throughout the season. Kulikov should be an option only in medium to deep leagues, because of the lack of waiver wire players that see first unit power play time.

Panthers' Kulikov Becoming A Leader

News: Dmitry Kulikov only has one assist in his first six games this season, but he is playing the best hockey of his career, Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov should be available in almost all fantasy formats because of his slow start and he has been forgotten about since the Panthers drafted Aaron Ekblad with the No. 1 pick overall last summer. What fantasy owners might not realize is that Kulikov is playing a career-high 24 minutes a game and leading the team with 161 shifts. The more noteworthy statistic is that he is second on the team only to Brian Campbell in power play ice time. Once Florida starts putting the puck in the net, Kulikov should be a consideration and a potential 25-35 point guy.

Panthers' Kulikov Returns To Practice

News: Dmitry Kulikov (foot) returned to practice Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Dmitry Kulikov was back on the ice a night after injuring his foot while blocking a puck in the Panthers' preseason contest. While the team could limit his activity over the next couple of days, it looks like he's going to be good to go for the start of the regular season.
