Peluso Re-Ups With Jets For Two Years

News: Anthony Peluso re-signed Wednesday with the Jets on a two-year, $1.35 million contract, Stephen Whyno of The Canadian Press reports.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Anthony Peluso appeared in 49 games with the Jets last season, providing two points, 86 PIM, and 100 hits while skating primarily on the club's fourth line. Peluso will give the Jets some muscle to pair with the scoring talent on their top three lines, but even in specialty leagues, his PIM and hit production doesn't stack up especially well with many of the league's other checking liners.

Jets' Peluso Has 32 Game Pointless Streak

News: Anthony Peluso leads NHL skaters with a 32-game pointless streak.
Analysis: "Leads" might be a poor word choice. The fourth-liner is averaging only 5:46 of ice time per game and probably doesn't warrant much -- if any -- fantasy consideration.

Jets' Peluso Claims First Goal

News: Anthony Peluso tallied one of five Winnipeg goals in Tuesday's triumph over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: The fourth-liner rarely provides points of any variety, so he'll undoubtedly treasure the third goal of his 73-game career. Anthony Peluso is averaging only 5:28 of ice time per game and has often been a healthy scratch this season, making it difficult to count on him even for consistent hit and PIM totals.

Jets' Peluso (Upper Body) Activated Sunday

News: Anthony Peluso (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso was cleared to play over a week ago, but now finally appears to be ready as he was activated Sunday. The 25-year-old has just three games under his belt this season, but hasn't recorded a point in an average 6:35 of ice time. He will look to add another notch, which could come Sunday against the Wild.

Jets' Peluso (Upper Body) Cleared To Play

News: Anthony Peluso (upper body) was cleared to play Tuesday and is expected to be activated from IR in the near future, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso was first reported to be dealing with an upper body injury Oct. 23 and was placed on IR a week later. He appears to be finally healthy, and indications seem to be pointing towards him returning to the ice in the near future.

Jets' Peluso Close To Returning

News: Anthony Peluso (upper body) is nearing a return, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso, who is eligible to be activated from injured reserve whenever he is ready to resume playing, was able to skate Tuesday morning. He is not expected to play Tuesday night against the Jets, but his absence should not stretch much further.

Jets Move Peluso To IR

News: Anthony Peluso (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso was moved to IR to make roster room for Evander Kane (knee), who will return to the lineup Thursday. Since Peluso first sustained the injury a week ago during practice, he's already missed the seven-day minimum required for every IR stint and will be immediately eligible to return when healthy.

Jets' Peluso Likely Out Friday

News: Anthony Peluso (upper body) didn't take part in the Jets' morning skate and looks to be unavailable Friday against the Lightning, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: With Anthony Peluso bound for the press box, Matt Halischuk will step in to fill out the Jets' fourth line. Peluso is still being listed as day-to-day and could be an option for Sunday's tilt with the Avalanche.

Jets' Peluso Nursing Upper-Body Injury

News: Anthony Peluso missed Thursday's practice with what was described as a minor upper-body injury, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: While it doesn't look like the ailment is serious enough to result in a move to injured reserve for Anthony Peluso, he could still be forced out of Friday's game against the Lightning. Since Peluso's a fourth-liner who averages only 6:35 of ice time per game, the Jets wouldn't lose much by swapping him out for Matt Halischuk for a game or two.

Jets' Peluso Scoring Sparsely

News: Anthony Peluso has two goals and an assist in 36 games so far this season.
Analysis: The winger has also chipped in 48 PIM this season, but he's really no more than a depth forward, and fantasy owners should probably look elsewhere before resorting to Anthony Peluso for help.

Jets' Peluso Returns From Suspension

News: Anthony Peluso returned from suspension Sunday against the Canucks, skating for 6:40 worth of ice time.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso was able to pick up five minutes of ice time for those fantasy owners who used him Sunday, boosting his PIM total to 29 on the season. In addition to penalties, Peluso is really only useful in the hits category.

Jets' Peluso Suspended Three Games

News: Anthony Peluso has been suspended three games for his hit on the Stars' Alex Goligoski on Saturday, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso's hit drew him a boarding major penalty and an ejection at 15:28 of the second period Saturday, and the league has decided he deserves to miss three more games for his actions. He won't be eligible to play until next Sunday against Vancouver.

Jets' Peluso Re-Ups For Two Years

News: Anthony Peluso agreed to a two-year, $1.125 million contract with the Jets on Monday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: After making his NHL debut in February, Anthony Peluso went on to put up two points (both assists) in five games with the Jets last season. Most of his time was spent at AHL Peoria, where Peluso recorded 11 points (5G, 11A) and 58 penalty minutes in 36 games. The Jets didn't have to shell out much to retain the 24-year-old, who will at least provide toughness and depth along the wing for Winnipeg.

Jets' Peluso (Hand) Back At Practice Tuesday

News: Anthony Peluso (hand) was back practicing Tuesday, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Coach Claude Noel said after Tuesday's skate that Anthony Peluso would still require some additional practice time to get back in game shape, so don't expect to see him back in action this weekend. Peluso has been out since March 2 after breaking a bone in his hand, limiting him to just five games this season.

Jets' Peluso (Hand) Resumes Skating On His Own

News: Anthony Peluso (hand) has just resumed skating on his own, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso has been limited to five games this season with a hand fracture, which he sustained during a fight March 2. There remains no clear timetable for a return at this point.

Jets' Peluso (Hand) "Week-To-Week"

News: Updating earlier reports, Anthony Peluso (hand) is "week-to-week," according to Jets' coach Claude Noel.
Analysis: That invariably means a fracture -- Anthony Peluso left the game Saturday after injuring his hand in a first-period fight.

Jets' Peluso (Hand) Likely Out Awhile

News: Jets coach Claude Noel said he expects Anthony Peluso (hand) will be out a while, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso went down early in Saturday's game, reportedly with a hand injury. A specific timetable wasn't given, but it sounds like Peluso may miss a significant stretch.

Jets' Peluso Leaves Saturday's Game With Upper Body Injury

News: Anthony Peluso suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Saturday's game and will not return, the National Post's Scott Brown reports.
Analysis: Consider Anthony Peluso day-to-day until more information is available.

Jets' Peluso Shows Off Hands

News: Anthony Peluso assisted on both of Olli Jokinen's goals Tuesday in a win over the Rangers, his first two NHL points.
Analysis: Both times, Anthony Peluso found the puck in a scramble and fed it to Jokinen, who had wide-open shots and hit 'em. The 23-year-old is known more for his bruising than his hands, but he certainly showed offensive ability to complement his big body in Tuesday's game.

Jets Claim Peluso

News: The Jets have claimed Anthony Peluso off waivers from the Blues, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: The 6-4, 236-pound Anthony Peluso, who has recorded 11 points and 58 PIM in 36 games with AHL Peoria, has yet to play an NHL game to date, but his size and toughness could help him crack the Jets' roster.

Peluso Re-Ups With The Blues

News: Anthony Peluso signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Monday, the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Anthony Peluso led the Blues' AHL affiliate with 159 penalty minutes. He also recorded nine points in 61 games in the minors. Peluso has yet to make his NHL debut.
