News: The Bruins have signed Button to an entry-level contract, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Button, who skated with AHL Providence late in the season on an Amateur Tryout Agreement, appeared in seven games with the Baby B's, recording one assist. Button, who will most likely start the 2011-12 season back in Providence, is a puck-moving blueliner who adds depth to the organization's already solid backline corps. At at 6-0, 185 pounds, he may need to bulk up some to cut it at the NHL level, however.
News: Button has signed an amateur tryout agreement with AHL Providence, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Button, the Bruins' third-round pick in 2009, split 2010-11 season between WHL Prince Albert and Seattle, recording five goals and 30 assists in 69 games. Though Button, a puck-moving defenseman, could return to the WHL next season as an overage player, he will most likely start the 2011-12 season in Providence.
News: The Boston Globe reports that the Bruins trimmed their training camp roster significantly on Sunday. G Adam Courchaine, G Matt Dalton, RW Jordan Knackstedt, LW Matt Marquardt, D Scott Fletcher and D Rob Kwiet were returned to the AHL. D Alain Goulet and LW Lane MacDermid, both of whom remain unsigned draft picks, for now will skate solely with the AHL roster. Finally, D Ryan Button, RW Jordan Caron, G Michael Hutchinson, and RW Tyler Randell, were returned to their junior clubs.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value at this time, so continue to ignore them in all formats.
