Leafs' Holland Set To Return

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is slated to play Sunday against the Sens, David Alter of MapleLeafs.com reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland, who last suited up back on March 13, returns to the Leafs' lineup with 11 goals and 23 points in 59 games, to go along with minus-1 rating.

Leafs' Holland Ruled Out For Saturday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) will not play Saturday against the Senators, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: With the Leafs kicking off a back-to-back set Saturday, it appears coach Peter Horachek simply didn't want to have Peter Holland play two consecutive games immediately upon returning from injury. Instead, Holland's return to action will likely come Sunday versus Ottawa, assuming the center suffers no setbacks in his recovery overnight.

Leafs' Holland Still Targeting Weekend

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is joining his teammates for a full practice Friday, and still hopes to return to games this weekend, TSN's Jonas Siegel reports.
Analysis: Toronto faces the Bruins on Saturday and the Senators on Sunday, providing Peter Holland with two opportunities to get back on the ice. Given that he's logging a full practice Friday, Holland seems to have a real shot at playing in both games.

Leafs' Holland Remains Sidelined

News: Peter Holland (lower body) could return as soon as this weekend, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.
Analysis: That said, Peter Holland is effectively ruled out for the team's next two games, with a return either Saturday against the Bruins or Sunday against the Sens now considered plausible.

Leafs' Holland Skates On Own Wednesday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) skated on his own prior to Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Peter Holland has missed the Leafs' last five games while recovering from the lower-body injury. While his light skate Wednesday offers encouragement that he might be nearing a return, Holland seems unlikely to suit up for Thursday's tilt with the Panthers, given that he has yet to practice with the rest of the team.

Leafs' Holland (Lower Body) Out Monday

News: Peter Holland, who was expected to return Monday, (lower body) will sit a little while longer, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland will require a little extra rest than initially expected, and with the Maple Leafs no longer in playoff contention, it's not surprising he will take it. The team's next contest after Monday comes Thursday against the Panthers, which seems like a logical return date at this point.

Leafs' Holland Remains Sidelined

News: Peter Holland (lower body) is expected to miss the Leafs' next two games, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: Per the report, with Peter Holland still ailing and Nazem Kadri suspended, the Leafs are likely to recall forward Sam Carrick from AHL Toronto.

Leafs' Holland Out Monday

News: Peter Holland (lower body) won't play Monday against the Oilers, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland, who is slated to miss his second straight game, thus remains day-to-day in advance of Thursday's game against the Sharks.

Leafs' Holland (Lower Body) Out Saturday

News: Peter Holland is dealing with a lower-body injury and will not play in Saturday's game against the Canucks.
Analysis: Peter Holland should be considered day-to-day moving forward. His next opportunity to get back on the ice will be against the Oilers on Monday.

Holland On Three-Game Streak In Toronto

News: Peter Holland picked up an assist Saturday against St. Louis; it extended his point streak to three games and three points, including two helpers.
Analysis: He and David Booth on both on three-game streaks, courtesy of each other -- each man has set up the other's goals. Peter Holland might help you if you can roll him as a forward -- center is a little too deep for him to make a dent.

Leafs' Holland Picks Up Assist, Five PIM In Loss

News: Peter Holland gathered an assist and picked up a five-minute major penalty in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: After rattling off a three-game point streak in December, Peter Holland has been mostly quiet offensively since then, registering only two goals and four assists in 22 games. He hasn't been able to hang his hat on PIM production with much frequency either, as evidenced by the 29 total penalty minutes he's served this season. Holland's usefulness remains limited to deeper leagues.

Leafs' Holland: Goal And Assist In Win

News: Peter Holland scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 5-1 win over Edmonton.
Analysis: The points are his first in six games since his return from injury. He was physically dominant at times during the game, so that's a great sign for his offensive potential.

Leafs' Holland Will Play Wednesday

News: Peter Holland (upper body) will be activated from injured reserve and return to the lineup Wednesday against the Devils, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: The upper-body ailment has kept Peter Holland out of commission since New Year's Eve. With nearly a month to recover from the injury, Holland appears to be sufficiently healed, and should fill an important role for the Leafs in their bottom-six group of forwards. He looks set to pivot a third line of Daniel Winnik and Mike Santorelli on Wednesday night.

Leafs' Holland Expected Back Wednesday

News: Peter Holland (upper body) may return for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia, the Toronto Star reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland skated on his own last week, and he participated in a full workout Sunday. He and Joffrey Lupul both suffered injuries on New Year's Eve, and both have a shot to return for Wednesday's game.

Leafs' Holland Skates Tuesday

News: Peter Holland (upper body) skated on his own ahead of Tuesday's practice, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland is expected to return to action at some point after the All-Star break, though for now, it appears unlikely he'll be available for the Leafs' first game back on Jan. 28. The forward, who has been out since the beginning of the month, will need to resume practicing with the team before a return can be considered forthcoming.

Leafs' Holland Placed On IR

News: Peter Holland (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Peter Holland is viewed as week-to-week with his injury, so his move to IR seems to be strictly procedural. He'll be eligible to return whenever the Maple Leafs deem his ready to play, but that doesn't look like it will happen for a while.

Leafs' Holland Ruled Out For Friday

News: Peter Holland (upper body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Wild, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.
Analysis: Peter Holland is still awaiting test results from the injury suffered Wednesday night and isn't traveling with the team, so it's probably safe to rule him out of Saturday's game against the Jets as well. Greg McKegg will join the lineup in his stead.

Leafs' Holland Week-To-Week

News: Peter Holland (upper body) is considered week-to-week.
Analysis: He will probably miss Saturday and Wednesday's games, with a chance of returning to the ice for next Friday's showdown against Columbus.

Leafs' Holland Dealing With Upper Body Injury

News: Peter Holland is dealing with an upper body injury and was sent home for further evaluation, David Alter of MapleLeafs.com reports.
Analysis: Little is known about the injury, but it's severe enough that the team was willing to send him home following Wednesday's win over Boston. Peter Holland will continue to be evaluated, at which point the team will likely release a return timetable. In the meantime, it's highly unlikely he'll join the team in Minnesota for Friday's contest.

Three-Game Point Streak For Leafs' Holland

News: Peter Holland tallied a goal in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: The center has recorded a point in each of his last three games and was able to finish with a plus-2 in Saturday's contest, a surprising development given the final score. He probably remains an option only in deeper leagues at this time, however, as his presence on the third line offers him fewer scoring chances than desired.

Leafs' Holland: Two Points In Win

News: Peter Holland scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over Vancouver.
Analysis: It was a timely outburst for the talented center who had just one point in his previous nine. The Leafs activated Brandon Kozun from the IR earlier in the day and this effort may have helped Peter Holland stave off an almost inevitable trip to the press box. Be ready to bench him if you haven't already.

Leafs' Holland: Three-Game Streak

News: Peter Holland extended his point streak to three games and five points with a goal and an assist in Wednesday's victory over the Bruins. He now has a goal in each of his last three games.
Analysis: Look what happens when he gets consistent playing time. This year was a make or break for Mr. Peter Holland and so far, so good. Stick him into your lineup and take advantage.

Leafs' Holland: Two-Point Night

News: Peter Holland scored a goal and added an assist in Sunday's 5-3 win over Ottawa. He now has three points in his last two games.
Analysis: His game is starting to come together -- he actually has five points, including three goals, in his last six games. There might eventually be some fantasy value in him. Who knew?

Leafs' Holland Gets First Goal Of Season

News: Peter Holland scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Blackhawks. It stood up as the game-winner.
Analysis: He has a point in each of his last two games. Keep an eye on him -- the kid has talent and could end up being a decent deep-league option, particularly if you roll forwards rather than specific positions.

Leafs' Holland: Chance To Center Third Line?

News: Peter Holland's chances of making the Leafs as the team's third-line center are improving as teammate Petri Kontiola struggles in camp.
Analysis: Kontiola has been in the KHL for the last five years and is attempting a return to the NHL. But his play this preseason has been less than positive, opening the door for Peter Holland to take advantage. The Leafs want three scoring lines and Holland, who is 23, has shown hints of promise in his young career. Watch this situation carefully.
