Flyers' Rosehill Scores In Rare Start

News: Jay Rosehill scored in the second period of Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill saw NHL ice for just the second time since the Olympic break, and made the most of it with the goal and five PIM. Still, his value is minimal, particularly if fellow winger Steve Downie makes a quick return.

Flyers' Rosehill Racking Up PIM

News: Jay Rosehill has one goal and 80 PIM in 29 games at the Olympic break.
Analysis: He's usually a healthy scratch, but Jay Rosehill went to the box in each of his last four appearances before the break. Fantasy teams in desperate need of PIM could find him useful.

Rosehill Scores First Goal As A Flyer

News: Jay Rosehill scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill finished off a redirected pass from defenseman Mark Streit to kick off the scoring for the Flyers, who surpassed two goals in a game for just the second time all season. He skated for seven shifts in Saturday's game, finishing with three hits and two penalties en route to a plus-1 rating.

Flyers' Rosehill Active

News: Jay Rosehill, scratched from Philadelphia's previous game, was activated for Saturday's game against Carolina. He played just 6:30 in the Flyers' 5-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: He was the team's seventh defenseman Saturday and should remain in a similar role going forward.

Flyers' Rosehill Practices Friday

News: Jay Rosehill, sporting a black eye from a fight earlier this week, participated in practice Friday and could play Saturday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: There was some confusion as to whether the eye caused him to sit out the Flyers' previous game. At any rate, Jay Rosehill is ready to go Saturday at Carolina.

Flyers' Rosehill Healthy Scratched Thursday

News: Updating a previous report, Jay Rosehill was a healthy scratch Thursday and did not sit because of an eye injury, CSN Philadelphia's Tim Panaccio reports.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill may have a bruise on his eye, but apparently it isn't bad enough to keep him out of action. Rather, the Flyers were just going with a different look on the fourth line.

Flyers' Rosenhill Out Of Lineup Thursday

News: Rosenhill is not playing Thursday, possibly because of a swollen eye, CSN Philly's Lisa Hillary reports.
Analysis: Rosenhill signed a two-year contract extension Wednesday and should return to the lineup soon. Consider him day-to-day.

Flyers Extend Rosehill

News: The Flyers signed Jay Rosehill to a two-year contract extension Wednesday.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill was acquired from the Ducks on April 1 in exchange for Harry Zolnierczyk, and has racked up one goal and 47 PIMs in seven games since joining the Flyers.

Rosehill Scores In Flyers Debut

News: Jay Rosehill was called up for Thursday's game against the Leafs and scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal against his former team.
Analysis: He skated just 8:37, but it was enough time for him to score the goal and fight his old teammate Colton Orr. Jay Rosehill will likely continue to factor into the Flyers' fourth-line mix for the rest of the year.

Flyers Acquire Rosehill From Ducks

News: The Ducks traded Jay Rosehill to the Flyers on Monday in exchange for Harry Zolnierczyk, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: The winger had eight points and 90 PIMs in 33 games for AHL Norfolk this season. He'll add some toughness, and little else, to the Philadelphia lineup if he gets called up to the big squad.

Toronto's Rosehill Clears Waivers

News: Jay Rosehill has cleared re-entry waivers, Bob McKenzie of TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill is merely a PIM threat, with little value in fantasy leagues.

Leafs Place Rosehill On Re-Entry Waivers

News: The Leafs placed Jay Rosehill on re-entry waivers Saturday, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: Toronto sent the fighter to the AHL on Saturday, from which point he totaled just four PIMs in two games.

Toronto's Rosehill Headed To AHL

News: Jay Rosehill was assigned to the AHL on Saturday, MapleLeafs.com reports.
Analysis: Jay Rosehill isn't anything more than a PIM threat, so where he goes from here is unlikely to impact fantasy leagues.

Maple Leafs Place Rosehill On Waivers

News: The Maple Leafs placed Jay Rosehill on waivers Friday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Analysis: The team also placed Darryl Boyce on waivers, clearing up space on the roster for a potential trade before Monday's deadline. It also gives the team flexibility for a call up, if they find themselves needing one. Jay Rosehill has no points and 21 PIM in 16 games with the Leafs this season.

Maple Leafs Retain Rosehill With One-Year Contract

News: The Maple Leafs have signed Rosehill to a one-year contract extension amounting to $600,000, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Rewinding to the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Rosehill was selected in the seventh round by the Lightning. Since then, he's only made his way into 41 games at the NHL level - all with Toronto. The one thing you should know about Rosehill is that he drops gloves - not points - as evidenced by his 138 PIMs in limited action at hockey's highest level of competition.

Leafs Recall Rosehill

News: The Maple Leafs recalled Rosehill from the AHL on Saturday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: With Colton Orr banged-up with a possible concussion, Rosehill will take his spot in the lineup. Toronto hosts the Capitals on Saturday.

Minor Injury for Leafs' Rosehill

News: Rosehill, who sat out Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury, was back on the ice at Friday's practice, the Toronto Star reports.
Analysis: Rosehill is a good PIMs guy when he's in there -- 81 in 18 career NHL games -- though he's only worked his way into the Toronto lineup three times so far this season. That's the only category where he can help you.

Rosehill sent packing to AHL

News: The Maple Leafs recalled LW Viktor Stalberg from Toronto of the AHL on Sunday and reassigned forward Jay Rosehill to the minor league squad.
Analysis: Rosehill has one goal, one assist and 57 penalty minutes in 14 games with Toronto. He is pretty much up when Toronto needs some toughness. Rosehill is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for PIM when active.

Rosehill making his presence known

News: Maple Leafs D Jay Rosehill failed to record a point in 8:17 of ice time on Friday against the Capitals, but he totaled seven penalty minutes, including five for fighting Jason Chimera. Rosehill had an assist on Thursday after his recall from the minors.
Analysis: The Maple Leafs recalled Rosehill since they were lacking some grit. He has provided that in just his first two games. He is playing as a forward, but remains more of a checking-line presence. Rosehill is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for PIM when active.

Rosehill to AHL for conditioning

News: The Maple Leafs have sent D Jay Rosehill sent to the AHL on two-week conditioning stint.
Analysis: Rosehill has been a healthy scratch for almost a month now, so he's going to get some kind of game action in for the Marlies. He has no Fantasy value.

Rosehill receives congrats on goal

News: The Sports Xchange reports Maple Leafs LW Jay Rosehill's goal on Saturday against the Penguins was his first in the NHL, after a long climb as a minor league enforcer. Right after the game, he received many text messages of congratulation from family and friends in Olds, Alberta, a town of 6,000 near Calgary, where his father is a livestock auctioneer.
Analysis: While Rosehill scored Saturday, he also racked up nine penalty minutes. Toronto has Rosehill on the roster for his checking-line presence. When he scores it's an added bonus. Rosehill remains just a flier in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for PIM.

Rosehill finally gets into NHL game

News: The Sports Xchange reports Maple Leafs LW Jay Rosehill and LW Viktor Stalberg both made their NHL debuts Thursday against the Canadiens. Stalberg was a University of Vermont star who was the only one of three "Frat Pack" NCAA linemates the Leafs kept. C Tyler Bozak (Denver) and RW Christian Hanson (Notre Dame) were demoted. Rosehill is a minor league grinder who led the AHL in major penalties last season. Originally a late draft choice of the Tampa Bay Lightning, he had been called up once but never used.
Analysis: Rosehill wasted little time getting into trouble Thursday and fought in his NHL debut. Toronto is looking for some toughness and that could keep Rosehill in the lineup. Still, he remains just a flier in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for PIM.
