Klinkhammer Back In For Oilers On Friday

News: Rob Klinkhammer (paternity) was on the ice for the Oilers' morning skate and will be back in the lineup Friday against the Wild, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer missed the Oilers' previous two games while awaiting the birth of his first child. After taking some time to be with the newborn -- and inking a one-year extension with the Oilers -- Klinkhammer will reclaim a spot on the team's fourth line, joining Matt Hendricks and Boyd Gordon.

Klinkhammer Re-Ups With Oilers For Another Year

News: Rob Klinkhammer (paternity) agreed to a one-year, $725,000 extension with the Oilers on Friday, Bob Stauffer of 630 CHED reports.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer, who has missed the Oilers' previous two games while on paternity leave, has spent time with three different teams this season. Though his production with Edmonton (no goals, two assists in 18 games) hasn't been noteworthy, the team seems satisfied with the toughness he's supplied on the team's fourth line. The new contract should give him some further security in that role.

Oilers' Klinkhammer To Remain Out Wednesday

News: Rob Klinkhammer (personal) will remain out of the lineup Wednesday against the Bruins, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer will miss his second straight game as he takes time off to be with his newborn child. Matt Hendricks is expected to replace him on the Oilers' fourth line. Klinkhammer's next chance to play will come Friday against the Wild.

Klinkhammer Out Monday For Edmonton

News: Rob Klinkhammer (personal) won't play Monday for the Oilers.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer has left the team to await the birth of his first child. We wish nothing but the best for him and his expanding family.

Oilers' Klinkhammer Picks Up Assist, Seven PIM

News: Rob Klinkhammer gathered an assist and picked up seven PIM in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer has spent time with three teams this season and hasn't offered much fantasy utility in any of the destinations. In primarily a bottom-six role split between the Coyotes, Penguins and Oilers, Klinkhammer has been limited to just four goals, four assists and 17 PIM over 43 games.

Pens Deal Klinkhammer To Oilers

News: Rob Klinkhammer was traded to the Oilers on Friday along with a 2015 first-round draft choice in exchange for forward David Perron, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: The first-round pick in one of the deepest drafts in years is the clear get here for the Oilers, as Rob Klinkhammer doesn't project as much more than a bottom-six forward. With only three points in his 10 games with Pittsburgh, Klinkhammer struggled to attain the fantasy relevance many had hoped for when he was dealt there earlier in December by the Coyotes. The move to a dreadful Edmonton squad will only sink his value further.

Klinkhammer Breaks Through Friday For Pittsburgh

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored his first goal for Pittsburgh (and fourth overall) in a 3-1 victory over the Flames on Friday.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer ended up skating with Evgeni Malkin and Blake Comeau after Jayson Megna took four minor penalties and was benched. He figures to see time again Saturday with Malkin since the Pens have already ruled Sidney Crosby out for the Columbus contest.

Klinkhammer Debuts Saturday For Pens

News: Rob Klinkhammer skated left wing on Pittsburgh's third line Saturday with Marcel Goc (center) and Jayson Megna (right wing).
Analysis: In just 11 shifts, the amped-up Rob Klinkhammer dished out a team-high five hits. He also drew two penalties and acquitted himself nicely in his Penguins debut. The former Coyote, who has three goals in 20 games, could help fantasy owners in the hits category.

Pens' Klinkhammer Will Play Saturday

News: Rob Klinkhammer will be in the Penguins' lineup Saturday against the Senators.
Analysis: The Penguins will waste no time inserting Rob Klinkhammer into their lineup, though he will not see any time on the power-play or penalty-kill units Saturday. Klinkhammer was acquired from Arizona along with a conditional fifth-round pick for defenseman Philip Samuelsson on Friday.

Coyotes Trade Klinkhammer To Penguins

News: Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional fifth-round draft pick were traded to the Penguins from the Coyotes on Friday in exchange for defenseman Philip Samuelsson, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: Pittsburgh has suffered huge losses to its forward ranks with Chris Kunitz, Pascal Dupuis, Beau Bennett and now Patric Hornqvist likely to miss time with injuries, so the acquisition of Rob Klinkhammer makes some sense. If he's able to claim a top-six role on a line with either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin, Klinkhammer could make for an intriguing speculative pickup in deeper formats.

Klinkhammer (Upper Body) Returning Thursday

News: Rob Klinkhammer (upper body) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Stars, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer's injury will cause him to miss just one game, indicating it was nothing serious. He will play on a line alongside Kyle Chipchura and Martin Erat.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Out Tuesday

News: Rob Klinkhammer is dealing with an upper-body injury and will not play Tuesday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: The extent of Rob Klinkhammer's setback is uncertain, but he is listed as day-to-day, so it does not appear he is facing an extended absence. Klinkhammer's next opportunity to play will come Thursday against the Stars.

Arizona's Klinkhammer Gets Goal In Win

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored a goal in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: It marked Rob Klinkhammer's first point of the season, while the second-liner also improved his plus/minus rating to plus-2. Despite his presence in the Coyotes' top six forwards, Klinkhammer only contributed 11 goals and nine assists in 72 games last season. He's unlikely to notice a large bump in his scoring in 2014-15.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Pots Goal In Second Straight

News: Rob Klinkhammer tallied his 11th goal of the season in Monday's win over the Kings.
Analysis: The winger has goals in two consecutive games, but since he continues to average less than 12 minutes of ice time per game, the odds are against him continuing the streak. His playing time could plunge even further once Martin Erat (upper body) returns to action.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Picks Up Assist Friday

News: Rob Klinkhammer picked up an assist Friday in a 4-3 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer had found himself in the press box as a healthy scratch a couple of times recently, so it is good to see him back on the scoresheet in this one. His ice time has been dwindling when he has played however (he skated 6:33 Friday; less than 10 minutes his last four games) and his early season Cinderella story is over.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Scores In Blowout Win

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored his ninth goal of the season (a power-play marker) Tuesday in a 6-0 win over Calgary.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer has found a home with Phoenix and is having a nice season as a result, with 16 points and a plus-12 rating in 42 games. He's a depth player, but he plays the role well.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Scores In Loss

News: Rob Klinkhammer potted his eighth goal of the season in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. He has 15 points on the season.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer's spot on the roster was not assured heading into camp, so the minor league veteran's eight goals, 15 points, and plus-12 rating are a nice story. He also plays a physical game, as demonstrated by his 98 hits in 41 games.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Strong Against Isles

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored twice and picked up an assist Thursday against the Islanders. He was plus-2 and added two hits.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer's charmed season continues as he is now up to 14 points in 31 games (a 40-point pace). His production has gone up and down through the year, but he is making greater contributions than anyone predicted at the start of the year and has found a place in the Yotes' regular lineup, which makes him very useful in many leagues.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Picks Up Fifth Goal

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored his fifth goal of the season Saturday in the Coyotes' loss to Chicago.
Analysis: The goal was Rob Klinkhammer's first point in six games. He had a hot streak early in the year, but has predictably cooled off. He can still add something to team in deep leagues, but is not going to be a reliable source of offense.

Coyotes' Kilnkhammer Doesn't Practice, Will Play

News: Rob Klinkhammer did not take part in the Coyotes' practice Friday, but is expected to play Saturday against Anaheim, according to the Arizona Republic's Sarah McLellan.
Analysis: It looks like this was just a maintenance day for Rob Klinkhammer. Deploy him as you normally would.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Grabs Assist

News: Rob Klinkhammer assisted on the Coyotes' first goal Saturday against San Jose and finished the game plus-2. It was his first point in four games.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer's production has slowed since his tear earlier in the season. He's averaging only 12:25 of ice time per game, so his production will be hit-or-miss.

Coyotes' Kilnkhammer Picks Up Assist

News: Rob Klinkhammer picked up an assist Saturday in a win over Detroit.
Analysis: He continues to skate with Antione Vermette and Shane Doan on the Coyotes' first line. At 27 years old, a big season is unlikely, but he's making the most of his chance and owners who ended up with him on their team are getting a big bonus from his scoring thus far.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Scores Again

News: Rob Klinkhammer scored for the second straight game Tuesday against Ottawa. It was his third of the season.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer played 15:13 in Tuesday's game (well above his season average of 9:57) and even spent some time on the Coyotes top line with Antoine Vermette and Shane Doan, according to the Arizona Republic's Sarah McLellan. At 27-years-old, it is unlikely that a big break through is coming, but Klinkhammer is on a little roll and if you ended up with him on your fantasy team it will be fun while it lasts.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Scores Twice

News: Rob Klinkhammer lit the lamp twice and was a plus-2 Sunday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Rob Klinkhammer is a 27-year-old with limited NHL experience, and a fourth liner. This is just a nice game and nothing more.

Coyotes' Klinkhammer Pots First Of The Season

News: Rob Klinkhammer opened the scoring for the Coyotes against the Flyers on Friday. It was his first goal of the year.
Analysis: The 27-year-old is on the Coyotes' fourth line and averaging only 8:46 of ice time, which does not make him a big fantasy contributor.
