Wild's Prosser To Return Saturday

News: Nate Prosser (lower body) will return for Saturday's game against the Red Wings, Anthony LaPanta of FOX Sports North reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser will be back a bit sooner than expected, as he was previously thought to be targeting a return for the final game or two of the regular season. He only has seven points and 32 penalty minutes in 60 appearances this season, and he hasn't played in a game since March 14.

Wild's Prosser Practices Wednesday

News: Nate Prosser (lower body) resumed practicing with the Wild on Wednesday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo was pleased with Nate Prosser's performance in his return to team activities, but suggested the blueliner remained without a firm timetable for a return. It appears the Wild will simply monitor Prosser's condition in the practices to come before deciding when he's healthy enough to play in games.

Wild's Prosser Starting To Skate

News: Nate Prosser (lower body) has been able to skate the last two days, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser's absence is expected to stretch into mid-April, so the fact that he's now skating shouldn't be taken as a sign that a return is forthcoming. Jordan Leopold should continue enjoy a regular role on the Wild's third defensive pairing while Prosser remains sidelined.

Wild's Prosser Bracing For Four-Week Absence

News: Coach Mike Yeo said Nate Prosser's undisclosed lower-body injury is expected to sideline the blueliner for four weeks, Chris Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Assuming that timetable is accurate or close to it, Nate Prosser looks like he'll miss the remainder of the regular season, which comes to an end on Apr. 11. There's still a good chance that Prosser will be available for the Wild's likely playoff run, but that will hinge entirely on how we makes it through the recovery process. Christian Folin is on track to fill Prosser's lineup spot for the duration of the regular season.

Wild's Prosser Suffers Lower-Body Injury

News: Nate Prosser suffered a lower-body injury Saturday and is questionable for Tuesday's game, the Star Tribune's Michael Russo reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser has been back in action of late for the Wild, but his status is in jeopardy going forward. He typically sees less than 18 minutes of ice time per game as a backup defenseman for Minnesota. If he cannot play Tuesday, Ryan Suter and Jordan Leopold will handle the left side.

Wild's Prosser Good To Go Thursday

News: Nate Prosser (illness) appears set to play Thursday against the Capitals, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: After being pulled out of Tuesday's win over the Senators while battling an illness, Nate Prosser was back on the ice at Thursday's morning skate, a sign he's sufficiently recovered and is ready to play. The Wild only have five other healthy defensemen on the roster and aren't seemingly on track to recall another from AHL Iowa, so the team seems to anticipate having Prosser available for his usual duties. He'll skate on the second pairing with Mathew Dumba.

Wild's Prosser Leaves Early Tuesday With Illness

News: Nate Prosser was removed from Tuesday's win over the Senators in the first period due to an illness, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser was reportedly feeling sick heading into the game, but still suited up since the Wild had only five healthy blueliners on the roster. However, he couldn't summon enough energy to make it through the game and was removed after logging 4:54 of ice time. He should be viewed as questionable to play Thursday against the Capitals.

Wild's Prosser Collects Second Goal

News: Nate Prosser ended a 41-game goalless skid with his second marker of the season in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: The third-pairing defenseman doesn't often showcase his abilities as a puck mover, but he was able to come away with his third career game-winning tally. He's never topped 12 points in a season and doesn't produce any notable totals in the other non-scoring categories either.

Wild's Prosser (Illness) Returns Saturday

News: Nate Prosser (illness) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Predators, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The flu kept Nate Prosser out of the action the last two games, but he had been able to resume skating Thursday. He'll replace Jonathon Blum on the Wild's third pairing.

News: Nate Prosser (illness) will miss his second straight game Thursday versus the Blackhawks, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser was able to get in a skate Thursday morning, but coach Mike Yeo said the blueliner isn't feeling well enough to play just yet. Check back on his status prior to Saturday's tilt with the Predators.

Wild's Prosser Dealing With Illness

News: Nate Prosser is dealing with an illness and will not play Tuesday.
Analysis: Nate Prosser sat out Tuesday's morning skate due to the stomach virus that has been passing around the team's locker room of late. Minnesota recalled Justin Falk from AHL Iowa, and he'll likely step in for Prosser on Tuesday. Consider Prosser questionable for Minnesota's next game Thursday.

Wild Claim Prosser Off Waivers

News: Nate Prosser was claimed off waivers by the Wild on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada reports.
Analysis: With the Wild still in search of a seventh defenseman, they'll kick the tires on Nate Prosser, who already has extensive familiarity with coach Mike Yeo's system. Before signing with St. Louis in the offseason, 28-year-old Prosser appeared in 126 games across five seasons with the Wild, totaling 21 points and 127 penalty minutes.

News: Nate Prosser was placed on waivers by the Blues on Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Nate Prosser played in 53 games with the Wild in 2013-14, tallying two goals and six assists with the club while racking up 58 penalty minutes. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues in the offseason, but appears to have lost the seventh defenseman spot to Jordan Leopold.

Blues Ink Prosser To Two-Way Deal

News: Nate Prosser (finger) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Tuesday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild elected not to extend a qualifying offer to Nate Prosser this summer after he totaled a meager eight points, 22 hits and 83 blocks over 53 regular-season contests. He'll compete for a depth role with the Blues.

Wild's Prosser Suffers Broken Finger

News: Nate Prosser suffered a broken finger in the Wild's first-round series with the Avalanche, but continued to play through the injury, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: After playing in all seven games in the series with the Avs, Coyle saw action in just three of the six contests vs. the Blackhawks in the second round, with the finger injury probably weighing into coach Mike Yeo's decision not to use him as frequently. He should be ready to go when the Wild begin training camp in the fall.

News: Nate Prosser (head) had two shots on goal in 17:24 of ice time in Friday's win over Vancouver.
Analysis: Nate Prosser said he got his "bell rung" and received stitches to his chin after taking a hard hit from Matt Hendricks in Thursday's win at Edmonton. However, it doesn't look like an injury that will keep him out of any action.

Wild's Prosser Exits With Head Injury

News: Nate Prosser said he got his "bell rung" and received stitches to his chin after taking a hard hit from Matt Hendricks in Thursday's win at Edmonton, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He left in the first period and did not return.
Analysis: Nate Prosser downplayed the injury after the game, but he'll likely be a game-time decision for Friday's game.

Prosser Staying Quiet For Wild

News: Nate Prosser has put up six points, 35 penalty minutes and 52 blocks over 33 games for the Wild.
Analysis: The latter two categories are the only areas Nate Prosser has made a noticeable impact for the Wild, and even those numbers aren't especially remarkable. Even while he enjoys regular ice time for the Wild, Prosser will struggle to warrant much fantasy relevance.

Wild Beat Stars On Prosser's Second Straight GWG

News: Nate Prosser bagged his second game-winning goal in a row Saturday as the Wild beat Dallas, 3-2 in overtime.
Analysis: These markers are essentially a lightning bolt out of a cloudless sky; he now has three goals in his entire career, spanning 97 games. As terrific as this short stretch is, you shouldn't expect this tally to have many little brothers and sisters.
