Oilers' Hall Ends Season With Two-Point Night

News: Taylor Hall scored his 15th goal of the season and had an assist in Saturday's loss to the Canucks.
Analysis: While it was a disappointing season for Taylor Hall, he went out with a strong performance Saturday. The 23-year-old finishes the season with 38 points and 158 shots on goal in 53 games. He's a prime bounce-back candidate next season, as injuries really took their toll on him this year. With just six power-play points this season, Hall is almost certainly due to improve on most of his offensive totals next season.

Oilers' Hall To Play Center Tuesday

News: Taylor Hall will play center Tuesday versus the Kings, reports the Edmonton Sun.
Analysis: With Ryan Nugent-Hopkins out for the game, Taylor Hall will center the top line between Jordan Eberle and Benoit Pouliot. In the short term, Hall's presence at center could help in leagues where faceoffs are a category, but it could hurt his offensive numbers due to the greater defensive responsibilities he'll be forced to take on. While coach Todd Nelson suggested Hall could eventually end up at the position long-term, it appears the Oilers still primarily consider him a winger.

Oilers' Hall Excelling Since Return

News: Taylor Hall tallied an empty-net goal and went plus-3 in Monday's win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Though the Oilers' fate was sealed long before Taylor Hall first began experiencing leg issues in late January, the team has delivered some inspired play since their top forward returned to the lineup. In Hall's first five games back from injury, the Oilers have won four times, scoring four goals in all the victories. He's unsurprisingly been a central figure in the team's attack, accruing two goals, three assists, and a plus-4 rating while putting 13 shots on goal.

Oilers' Hall Continues Assist Streak

News: Taylor Hall picked up an assist in Monday's loss to the Jets, giving him helpers in three straight games.
Analysis: Taylor Hall is up to 21 assists on the season, but it's worth noting that he hasn't lit the lamp since Jan. 9. Highly regarded as an offensive stalwart, Hall hasn't finished with less than 16 goals in a single campaign since entering the NHL in 2010-11, yet he's on pace for only 13 this year. Not helping Hall's cause is a career-low shooting percentage of 8.3. Hall remains startable in a wide number of formats, but consider his scoring struggles when comparing him against other big names.

Oilers' Hall Will Return Saturday

News: Taylor Hall (ankle) will be activated from injured reserve and will suit up for Saturday's game against the Flyers, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Journal reports.
Analysis: The Oilers gave Taylor Hall clearance to return to action for the first time since Feb. 2 after he participated fully in line rushes and slotted in on the team's power-play unit during Saturday's morning skate. It looks like Hall could be brought back into the fold slowly, as he's set to skate next to Anton Lander and Andrew Miller on the third line, rather than reclaiming his usual post on the top trio. Prior to missing time with the injury, Hall was in the midst of a bit of a down year with 11 goals and 30 points in 42 games, but even that level of production still warrants a lineup spot in all but the shallowest of formats.

Oilers' Hall Could Play Saturday

News: Coach Todd Nelson suggested that Taylor Hall (ankle) could be back in the lineup Saturday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Taylor Hall has missed 23 of the Oilers' last 24 games due to the ankle injury, with his absence significantly aiding the team's efforts to land a top draft pick. However, it appears the winger, who still ranks third on the team in scoring despite the missed time, might be in line to draw back in Saturday. Hall ditched his yellow non-contact jersey at Friday's practice and appeared to participate fully in line work with Anton Lander and Ryan Hamilton. The Oilers should reach a decision on Hall's status following Saturday's morning skate.

Oilers' Hall Skates With Team On Monday

News: Taylor Hall (ankle) skated with the Oilers on Monday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: While that's a step in the right direction for Taylor Hall, a timetable for his return to game action has yet to be established. "Until we get to a point where he's competing in a regular practice he's not ready to come back, obviously," interim Coach Todd Nelson noted Monday. "There's still some time with Taylor."

Oilers' Hall Could Practice Tuesday

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) could practice with the team Tuesday, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Analysis: Taylor Hall has been out of the lineup for over a month but should return to the Oilers within the next week. There is a chance that he could join the team for their morning skate Monday but his first full practice won't come until Tuesday. If all goes well, Hall could be back in the lineup as early as Wednesday or more likely Saturday versus the Flyers.

Oilers' Hall Out Six Weeks

News: Taylor Hall will be out six weeks with a lower-leg injury, reports Rob Tychkowski of the Edmonton Sun.
Analysis: Tychkowski adds that Taylor Hall is dealing with a cracked bone in the lower leg, an injury suffered when he was slashed back on Feb. 2. A late-March return thus looks like a best-case scenario for Hall. The absence of the Oilers' best player could be a blessing in disguise for the franchise, as it will surely bolster their chances of landing a high pick in the loaded 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Oilers' Hall Heads To IR

News: The Oilers have placed Taylor Hall (ankle) on IR.
Analysis: With both Taylor Hall (who has 30 points in 42 games to date) and Benoit Pouliot having been placed on IR, the Oilers recalled Ryan Hamilton from AHL Oklahoma City to fortify the forward ranks.

Oilers' Hall To Undergo MRI On Ankle

News: Coach Todd Nelson indicated that Taylor Hall will undergo an MRI on his left ankle.
Analysis: Taylor Hall's status is still a bit cloudy with more tests forthcoming, but it seems all but certain he will miss Monday and Tuesday at a minimum. The MRI results should provide additional information and an updated timetable for the Oilers' forward.

Oilers' Hall Returns To Edmonton For Tests

News: Taylor Hall (ankle) returned to Edmonton on Sunday to undergo further evaluation on his injured ankle.
Analysis: Taylor Hall's departure from the team likely indicates he will miss at least Monday and Tuesday due to the injury, but the team doesn't return back to Edmonton until Feb. 16, with four more road games on tap. The news is a bit concerning, but the team should provide an update and a clearer timetable soon.

Oilers' Hall 'Highly Unlikely' For Saturday

News: Taylor Hall (foot) is considered "highly unlikely" to play Saturday against the Maple Leafs, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall hasn't resumed practicing since aggravating his foot injury in Monday's game against the Sharks. For what it's worth, interim coach Todd Nelson is calling Hall day-to-day, but he'll need to get back on the ice in the near future in order for fantasy owners to have confidence about a short-term absence.

Oilers' Hall Not Practicing Friday

News: Taylor Hall (foot) is not practicing Friday, Rob Tychkowski of the Edmonton Sun reports.
Analysis: After missing Wednesday's game against the Penguins, Taylor Hall appears to be in some danger of also missing Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs. He recently aggravated the foot injury that caused him to miss three games in late January.

Oilers' Hall Set To Sit Out Wednesday

News: Taylor Hall (foot) wasn't on the ice for the Oilers' morning skate and looks set to miss Wednesday's game against the Penguins, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall aggravated an existing foot injury in his return to the lineup Monday against the Sharks and hasn't resumed skating. With the Oilers headed nowhere this season, they'll proceed carefully with their franchise forward, giving him as much rest as he needs to heal up from the issue. While Hall remains sidelined, Nail Yakupov will get the first crack at filling in as the top-line left wing.

Oilers' Hall Game-time Decision

News: Taylor Hall (leg) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Sharks.
Analysis: Taylor Hall skated with the team earlier on Monday, and was able to return to practice before Saturday's game also, so he appears to be getting closer to a return. If he doesn't play on Monday, he could be able to suit up again on Wednesday against the Penguins.

Oilers' Hall Suffers Foot Injury Monday

News: Taylor Hall suffered a foot injury during Monday's game against the Sharks and will not return.
Analysis: Taylor Hall came into Monday's game with a lower-leg injury but managed to snap a three-game absence against the Sharks. Although his comeback party was short lived as he should be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's game against the Penguins with what appears to be a fresh new injury.

Oilers' Hall (Lower Body) On Ice, But Not Skating

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) is on the ice for pregame warmups against the Sharks on Monday, but isn't participating in line rushes, which puts his availability in question, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall took the ice for pregame warmups and seemed poised to erase a three-game absence from action due to a lower-leg injury. However, his status appears murky at this point since he's not fully participating in warmups.

Oilers' Hall (Lower Body) Will Play Monday

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) is on the ice for Monday's pregame warmups and is expected to play against the Sharks, Oilers radio analyst Bob Stauffer reports.
Analysis: This outcome was somewhat expected after Taylor Hall managed to skate with the team during Monday's morning skate. He will be making his comeback from a three game absence with a lower leg injury.

Oilers' Hall Out Again Saturday

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) will not play in Saturday's game against the Sharks, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall was able to resume skating with the team at morning skate, but his absence from line rushes means that he will head to the press box for a third straight contest. Still, the Oilers have to be encouraged by Hall's presence on the ice, further affirming that a long-term injury has been avoided. He'll set his sights on a return to action Monday in San Jose.

Hall (Lower Leg) To Travel With Oilers To Calgary

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) will travel with the Oilers to Calgary for Saturday's game but remains uncertain to play, Matthew Iwanyk of TSN 1260 reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall has been sidelined for two games with the injury, but the fact that he's traveling suggests the Oilers continue to view him as day-to-day and aren't fearing a long-term absence. His availability for Saturday's match against the Flames should be decided by the morning of the game.

Oilers' Hall (Lower Leg) Ruled Out Thursday

News: Taylor Hall (lower leg) will not play Thursday against the Sabres, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Taylor Hall, who is dealing with a bone bruise, hasn't resumed skating since taking a shot off his leg during Monday's practice. As a result, he'll be sidelined for his second straight contest, with no indication on when he may be able to take to the ice again. The Oilers seem to be considering him day-to-day for the time being, but if he fails to notice much progress in the coming days, team doctors could reassess his status.

Oilers' Hall Day-To-Day

News: Taylor Hall is day-to-day with a lower-leg injury.
Analysis: Per coach Todd Nelson, Taylor Hall is dealing with "a bone bruise," and while it doesn't sound like an especially serious injury, the forward's status for Thursday's game against the Sabres is murky. An update on Hall's condition should be available following the Oilers' gameday skate Thursday morning.

Oilers' Hall Won't Play Tuesday

News: Taylor Hall (leg) won't play Tuesday against the Wild.
Analysis: Per coach Todd Nelson, Taylor Hall's leg injury "didn't react like (the team) wanted it to overnight" and as a result, the forward -- who absorbed a shot on his leg during Monday's practice -- is slated for further testing. Benoit Pouliot will assume Hall's spot on the Oilers' top line Tuesday.

Analysis: Taylor Hall took a shot off his leg during Monday's practice, and his status for Tuesday's game against the Wild has yet to be determined.
