Devils' Tedenby Heads to AHL Albany

News: Mattias Tedenby cleared waivers and was reassigned to AHL Albany on Saturday, Rich Chere of the Newark Star Ledger reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has been a role player during his limited time back after missing several weeks with a groin issue. He'll see regular playing time for Albany right now which will help him work his way fully back into game shape.

Devils' Tedenby Returns From AHL

News: Mattias Tedenby returned from a conditioning assignment with AHL Albany on Monday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby was about as productive as possible in two games for AHL Albany, scoring three goals and adding an assist. He's typically skated limited minutes with the Devils, so it's good that he was able to see some regular ice time down in the minors to stay fresh.

Devils' Tedenby: Two More On Assignment

News: Mattias Tedenby will remain on a conditioning assignment at AHL Albany for at least two more games, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: GM Lou Lamoriello wouldn't say whether or not Mattias Tedenby would return to the Devils after those two games, but it is certain that he won't remain with Albany beyond two weeks. The Devils sent him on the assignment Thursday to get him some needed ice work after he had been a regular healthy scratch of late for the team.

Devils Assign Tedenby To Albany

News: Mattias Tedenby was sent to AHL Albany on a conditioning assignment Thursday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: With Mattias Tedenby serving as a habitual healthy scratch for the Devils, coach Pete DeBoer decided it would be best for the winger to get some regular minutes in the minors. It's unclear whether DeBoer has plans to actually use Tedenby in games with the parent club once he returns from the conditioning assignment. He'll still remain on the 23-man roster while he's in Albany.

Devils' Tedenby To Make 2013-14 Debut Thursday

News: Mattias Tedenby will make his season debut Thursday against the Senators, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: A groin strain forced Mattias Tedenby out of action toward the tail end of training camp, and the team was forced to designate him as an injured non-roster player. He's evidently ready to roll, however, as the Devils activated Tedenby Wednesday in anticipation of the 23-year-old making his 2013-14 debut Thursday. He's expected to skate on a line with Travis Zajac and Michael Ryder.

Devils' Tedenby Placed On Non-Roster IR

News: Mattias Tedenby (lower body) was designated Monday as an injured non-roster player, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has resumed practicing since suffering what was believed to be a groin strain during a Sept. 20 practice, but it appears he won't crack the 23-man roster for Thursday's opener against the Devils. He appeared in just four games for the team last season, registering a lone assist.

Devils' Tedenby (Lower Body) Back Practicing

News: Mattias Tedenby (lower body) was a full participant in Friday's practice, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby sustained what was believed to be a strained groin in a practice last week, but his participation in a full capacity for Friday's session bodes well for his availability for the Oct. 2 opener. He was working on the Devils' third line with Jaromir Jagr and Andrei Loktionov on Friday.

New Jersey Signs Tedenby

News: The Devils have signed Mattias Tedenby to a one-year, $600,000 deal, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby, who notched one assist in four games for the Devils this past season, has recorded nine goals and 29 points in 105 career NHL contests overall. Any future fantasy relevance hinges on Tedenby seeing ice time on a scoring unit, but despite the modest numbers he has posted to date, he does possess some offensive upside.

News: Mattias Tedenby (face) remains in a New York hospital after his face was cut by a skate in an AHL game last Friday, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby was expected to be discharged last Sunday, but doctors wanted to make certain he attained no sort of infection with the injury. He will head to New Jersey after being released from the hospital so the team's medical staff can oversee his recovery.

News: Mattias Tedenby (face) will be released from the hospital Sunday but GM Lou Lamoriello admitted he doesn't know when Tedenby will be able to return to the ice, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. His return hinges on how soon the swelling in his face subsides.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby underwent plastic surgery for a cut on his face. While he is technically out indefinitely, consider him day-to-day after he is released from the hospital Sunday.

Devils' Tedenby Suffers Facial Laceration In AHL Game

News: Mattias Tedenby suffered a laceration to the face during an AHL game on Friday and had to undergo plastic surgery, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Things don't seem to be going so well for Mattias Tedenby lately, but the good news is that he's expected to make a full recovery after the scary incident. He started the year with the Devils, but was demoted to the AHL after his playing time fell off.

Devils Send Tedenby To Albany

News: Mattias Tedenby has been sent to Albany, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.

Devils' Tedenby Demoted To Fourth Line

News: Mattias Tedenby has seen his ice time dwindle over the last three games and will play on the team's fourth line Sunday against Montreal, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has been a maddeningly inconsistent player during his tenure with the Devils. He has never been able to find a set role at the NHL level and he began this season on the left side of Travis Zajac and Ilya Kovalchuk, notching an assist in the opening game. He has played a combined 15:17 over the last two games after seeing 11:13 in the opener. Odds are Tedenby will be sent to Albany (AHL) sooner or later.

Devils' Tedenby Will Be Called Up

News: Mattias Tedenby will be called up to the Devils, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby will be available Saturday and is expected to skate on the second line against the Islanders. He only scored six points in 43 games last season and finished the year with a plus-15 after finishing at plus-3 with 22 points in his rookie season. Tedenby turns 23 in January and could emerge as a useful fantasy option if he's able to overcome his putrid sophomore campaign.

Devils' Tedenby To Start Season in AHL

News: Tedendy will begin the season in Albany (AHL), according to the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti.
Analysis: This isn't much of a surprise as Mattias Tedenby has been inconsistent during his sporadic time with the big club. Odds are Tedenby will be one of the team's first call-ups in the event of injury or porr play by one of the team's bottom six forwards. This could be simply a procedural move as Tedenby could be sent down without going through waivers. He's eligible to be recalled on Saturday.

Devils Tedenby Assigned To AHL

News: Mattias Tedenby has been assigned to Albany (AHL), the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: With the acquisition of Alexei Ponikarovsky, Mattias Tedenby has become a superfluous forward in the Devils lineup. He's been wholly ineffective all season with just six points and a minus-15 rating.

Tedenby Out Of Devils' Lineup

News: Mattias Tedenby will be a healthy scratch for Thursday's contest against Boston, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Not much of a surprise here with Adam Henrique returning from a minor groin strain. Mattias Tedenby has been largely ineffective this season, with just six points and a minus-15 rating through 43 games.

Devils Scratch Tedenby

News: Mattias Tedenby was a healthy scratch for Friday's win over Florida, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has struggled much this season after a decent debut as a rookie last year where he notched eight points and 22 points. Tedenby has six points on the season and is a minus-15 in 38 games with just 41 shots on goal. He has offensive potential, but has shown no consistency.

Devils' Tedenby Snaps Drought

News: Mattias Tedenby posted an assist in New Jersey's loss to Ottawa Monday, ending a nine-game points drought.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby is on a potentially productive line with David Clarkson and Travis Zajac, but Tedenby has been inconsistent and ineffective this season. Remember his name in keeper leagues for next season.

Devils' Tedenby Finally Scores

News: Mattias Tedenby scored his season's first goal with a game-tying tally in Thursday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby has been in and out of the Devils' lineup this season due to his struggles to find consistency. He is one of a handful of young New Jersey skaters having difficulty finding their game.

Tedenby Back In Devils' Lineup

News: Mattias Tedenby will play Saturday against Tampa Bay, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Mattias Tedenby was a healthy scratch for Wednesday's win over Buffalo, but will be back in action Saturday. Tedenby is off to a disappointing start with just three assists and a minus-4 rating in 16 games. He's worth remembering in deep keeper leagues.
