News: Michael Bournival has been recalled from his conditioning stint in the American Hockey League, Hockey Inside Out reports. He'll likely center the fourth line, replacing Lars Eller, who left Saturday night's win over Toronto with a lower-body injury.
Analysis: Michael Bournival had missed some time due to a concussion but recently was cleared for competition and was getting his legs back with the Hamilton Bulldogs. He scored two goals for the Bulldogs in a game Friday night.

Canadiens' Bournival A Healthy Scratch

News: Michael Bournival (concussion), who was on a conditioning stint with AHL Hamilton, is listed among the Canadiens' scratches in Thursday's game, NHL.com's Arpon Basu reports.
Analysis: With his rehab assignment seemingly concluded, Michael Bournival could slot back into the lineup within the next few games. He has 13 points (six goals), 70 shots on goal, 14 PIM and a minus-five rating through 50 games in his rookie season

Habs Send Bournival Down To AHL Hamilton

News: Michael Bournival (concussion) was sent to AHL Hamilton on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: The demotion is likely just a de facto rehab assignment for Michael Bournival, who has been out since Feb. 8 with a concussion. He took part in full-contact practice on Friday and will likely play a few games with Hamilton before rejoining the Canadiens.

Habs' Bournival Takes Contact

News: Michael Bournival (concussion) was wearing a full-contact jersey at Friday's practice, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Passing through full-contact work could be the final hurdle Michael Bournival needs to clear before returning from injured reserve. While his activation might not come over the weekend, the young center seems on track to return next week if he endures no further setbacks in his recovery. He's missed the last nine games due to the concussion.

Habs' Bournival Still Not Cleared From Concussion

News: The Habs will resume practicing Wednesday and Michael Bournival (concussion) has yet to be cleared, TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie reports.
Analysis: Diagnosed with a concussion Feb. 8, Michael Bournival presumably still has a chance to be ready by the time the NHL action resumes on Feb. 26. With most of the Habs' top players still in Sochi for the Olympics, it's hardly the end of the world that Bournival isn't ready to practice with the team.

News: Michael Bournival (head) was placed on injured reserve prior to the break for the Winter Olympics, TSN.ca reports.

Habs' Bournival Has Concussion

News: Michael Bournival has been officially diagnosed with a concussion, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Michael Bournival left Thursday's game with what was being called an upper-body injury at first. He had suffered a cut on his chin after taking a hit to the head and never returned to the game. He is still being considered day-to-day but will have the entire Olympic break to recover.

Habs' Bournival Has Facial Injury

News: Michael Bournival has a facial injury, according to the Montreal Gazette.
Analysis: Details about the injury Michael Bournival suffered during Thursday's win over the Canucks have been sketchy, but we'll update it from the upper body to face. Bournival did not travel with Montreal for Saturday's game in Carolina, so he'll have the entire Olympic break to recover.

Habs' Bournival Uncertain Saturday

News: Michael Bournival left Thursday night's game with an apparent cut on his chin and it's too early to tell whether he'll join the Canadiens for Saturday's game against the Hurricanes, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: We're hoping for a little more detail as to the nature of the injury. A cut on the chin doesn't seem like an injury that would force a hockey player to miss a game. For now, we'll label it an upper-body injury.

Canadiens' Bournival Leaves Thursday's Game

News: After taking contact to the head, Michael Bournival left Thursday's game against Vancouver early and did not return.
Analysis: The Habs' fourth line with Michael Bournival, Ryan White and former Canuck Dale Weise played well Thursday night, but didn't finish the game together as Bournival left the game with an apparent head injury. His status will be updated after the game.

Habs' Bournival Out Saturday With Flu

Habs' Bournival Moves Up

News: Michael Bournival skated on the Tomas Plekanec line in Tuesday night's 3-0 win over Carolina, Montreal Gazette reports. He skated 18 shifts for 13:05 and had three shots on goal.
Analysis: Yet another tweak of the lines for coach Michel Therrien, whose experiment with centerman Lars Eller on left wing didn't work out well. Michael Bournival, who's mostly been a fourth-liner this season, always gives an honest effort and complemented Plekanec and Brian Gionta well during Tuesday's win.

Habs' Bournival Replaces Injured Galchenyuk

News: Michael Bournival replaced the injured Alex Galchenyuk (broken hand) on the Lars Eller line during Tuesday's practice, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Galchenyuk is expected to miss at least six weeks, so Michael Bournival gets an opportunity for more minutes and production. Bournival hasn't registered a point in 17 games, skating mostly on the fourth line, but does have some offensive potential.

Habs' Bournival Moves Up

News: Michael Bournival was promoted to the Tomas Plekanec line for Thursday night's game against Boston, Hockey Inside Out reports. He skated 18 shifts for 14:10 of ice time (1:39 on power play) with one shot, one blocked shot and one hit.
Analysis: Michael Bournival was moved off the fourth line during the Habs' previous game and earned himself a longer-term promotion.

Habs' Bournival Moves Up

News: After Michael Bournival took Brandon Prust's spot on the Lars Eller line Wednesday, Eller scored a game-tying goal in the third period against New Jersey, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Michael Bournival has been locked on the fourth line recently, but carries more offensive potential than Prust. Since Eller and Alex Galchenyuk (to a certain extent) had cooled off since a torrid start, perhaps Bournival will get a full-time promotion for Thursday night's matchup with the Bruins.

Habs' Bournival Gets Limited Minutes

News: Michael Bournival played just 6:23 in Saturday's win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Michael Bournival's currently skating on the fourth line, so his minutes are usually suppressed, but Saturday night was lower than normal. He had taken a shot off the foot the previous night and was playing hurt Saturday.

Habs' Bournival To Play Saturday

News: Michael Bournival (foot) will play Saturday vs. the Penguins, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: The Canadiens arrived at the decision after he was checked out by the medical staff prior to pregame warmups. He'll look to extend his scoring streak to three games with a tally Saturday.
