Avs' Pickard Sent Back To Minors

News: Calvin Pickard was sent back to AHL Lake Erie on Monday, the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: The Avalanche had been carrying Calvin Pickard as an extra goalie while Jean-Sebastien Giguere was away from the team to tend to his terminally ill mother. Avs' Prospect Pickard Joins AHL Club

News: Calvin Pickard joined the AHL Lake Erie Monsters on Tuesday after his junior team, the Seattle Thunderbirds, failed to make the WHL playoffs, according to the Denver Post.
Analysis: Calvin Pickard, a second-round draft pick of the Avs in 2010, finished his WHL season with a 25-37-2 record, a 3.59 GAA and a .906 save percentage. He will need to post better numbers than that if he wants to see any time with the big club next season.
