News: Brett Bulmer returned to action with AHL Iowa in mid-Februrary after recovering from ankle and knee ailments.
Analysis: He's got a goal and an assist in 10 games with Iowa, so it seems Brett Bulmer's still not quite back to full speed. The 2010 second-rounder had 15 points in his first 25 AHL games this year.

Wild Rule Bulmer Out 6-8 Weeks

News: GM Chuck Fletcher said Brett Bulmer will miss the next 6-to-8 weeks with a sprained ankle and knee, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Fletcher indicated that Brett Bulmer's injury wasn't as severe as originally feared, but the forward will remain in the minors to rehab for the next couple of months. Fortunately, the injury doesn't sideline him for the rest of the season, giving him a chance at reappearing with the Wild once again.

Wild's Bulmer Suffers Knee Injury In AHL

News: Brett Bulmer suffered a knee injury while playing Monday for AHL Iowa, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "It could be significant," GM Chuck Fletcher said. "I don't want to speculate until we see what the MRI says, but it looks like it could be bad news. That would be terrible news for the kid."
Analysis: It sounds like Brett Bulmer is going to be out several weeks in any scenario. He played five games for the Wild this season with no points and minimal playing time, but had 15 points in 25 games with Iowa.

Wild's Bulmer Improving At AHL Iowa

News: Brett Bulmer has six goals and two assists in 18 games with AHL Iowa this season. "What I've seen from day one is a player that's growing -- like, genuinely growing," Iowa head coach Kurt Kleinendorst told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "He's a big, strong kid. He's got some areas we're trying to have him work through. But his confidence is there. He's really starting to play with confidence. I think we're going to see even more coming from him because his confidence is starting to come."
Analysis: Brett Bulmer is second on the team with six goals after overcoming an offseason knee injury. It sounds like he could be called up later in the season, but the 39th overall pick in the 2010 draft may need to prove himself for a full season in the AHL.

Wild's Bulmer A Healthy Scratch

News: Brett Bulmer was a healthy scratch in Saturday's win over Detroit.
Analysis: This doesn't appear to be an issue to limit his playing time in terms of the team having an option to send him to his juniors team. Still, he'll likely be sent down if he's not able to get on the ice.

Wild's Bulmer To Remain In NHL

News: Brett Bulmer is unlikely to return to his junior team, Kelowna of the Western Hockey League, general manager Chuck Fletcher told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The Wild don't have an issue if he plays 10 games in the NHL and activates the first year of his contract.
Analysis: It's still possible the Wild could send Brett Bulmer to his junior team before 40 games and hold off his unrestricted free agency clock, but it looks like he's set to remain in the NHL unless he really struggles. Bulmer has three assists and has been receiving ice time on the power play.

Wild's Bulmer Makes Wild Roster

News: Brett Bulmer has made the Wild's final 23-man roster, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The 2010 second-round draft pick had a strong preseason and could stay on the active roster all year. However, the Wild have 10 games to send him to WHL Kelowna without using the first year of his contract, so it's still possible he's sent down.

Wild's Bulmer Scores Goal

News: Brett Bulmer scored a goal in Tuesday's preseason loss to St. Louis.
Analysis: The 2010 second-round draft pick continues to make a strong impression and could begin the season on the Wild roster. The Wild would have 10 games before they'd lose their ability to send him to WHL Kelowna without using the first year of his contract, so it's possible they may evaluate him for a week.
