Sabres' D'Amigo To Be Given Qualifying Offer

News: Jerry D'Amigo's rights will be retained by the Sabres for the 2015-16 season, reports The Buffalo News.
Analysis: The 24-year-old forward saw limited action with the organization this past season, appearing in just 31 games with AHL Rochester and nine games with Buffalo before facial surgery forced him to sit out the rest of the season. Jerry D'Amigo has a scoring touch and speed to burn, but oftentimes lacks consistency game-to-game. But clearly the Sabres liked what they saw despite limited viewings to keep him in the organization for a little longer. He's hard-pressed to find a roster spot next year, but should be able to serve as minor league depth or an emergency call-up. His fantasy value remains limited until he becomes a regular in the NHL.

Sabres' D'Amigo Done For The Season

News: Jerry D'Amigo took a high stick to the mouth Saturday against Nashville and is out for the season after undergoing facial surgery, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: In nine games for the Sabres, Jerry D'Amigo failed to register a point while playing mostly in a bottom-six role. With Mikhail Grigorenko and Johan Larsson already with the Sabres, Tim Schaller will likely be D'Amigo's replacement.

Sabres' D'Amigo Under Evaluation

News: Jerry D'Amigo remains under evaluation after taking a high stick to the mouth in Saturday's loss to the Predators.
Analysis: The Sabres are listing Jerry D'Amigo has day-to-day for now, but should have a firmer timetable for the winger after running him through a few tests. He still has yet to be ruled out for Thursday's game against the Coyotes, though the odds of him suiting up don't appear to be overly promising.

Sabres' D'Amigo Sidelined

News: Jerry D'Amigo (unspecified issue) won't play Monday against the Stars.
Analysis: With Jerry D'Amigo -- who has not scored a point in nine games with the Sabres this season -- unavailable, the team has recalled Tim Schaller in advance of Monday's contest.

Sabres' D'Amigo Absent From Practice

News: Jerry D'Amigo did not participate in Monday's morning skate.
Analysis: There are no reports of an injury to Jerry D'Amigo, though exactly what kept him out of practice is still unknown. Regardless, D'Amigo's fantasy value is limited playing on the fourth line for the league's worst team, so his absence shouldn't affect much either way. His status for Monday's game against Dallas is questionable, and it's likely his status will be updated before puck drop.

Sabres' D'Amigo Held Pointless In Season Debut

News: Jerry D'Amigo played 10:36 against Tampa Bay on Tuesday in his first game of the season for the Sabres.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo skated on the Sabres' fourth line and finished the game with a minus-1 rating. The team called up three players after the NHL trade deadline in the hopes of giving its minor leaguers a chance to audition for next year. D'Amigo was rewarded for a strong second-half performance in AHL Rochester, but his fantasy value is minimal.

D'Amigo Recalled By Sabres

News: The Sabres recalled Jerry D'Amigo from AHL Rochester on Tuesday.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo, who has recorded 26 points in 59 AHL games this season, bolsters the Sabres' depth up front in the wake of the team having dealt the forward trio of Chris Stewart, Torrey Mitchell and Brian Flynn on Monday. D'Amigo is expected to be used in a scoring role, and although he's not particularly big, he is very strong for his 5-foot-11 frame. In 22 career NHL games, D'Amigo has a goal and three points. His fantasy value is very limited on a weak Buffalo squad.

Jackets Ship D'Amigo To Sabres

News: Jerry D'Amigo was acquired by the Sabres on Tuesday in exchange for forward Luke Adam.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo, who made his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs last season, had seven points in 28 games for AHL Springfield. The 23-year-old will remain in the AHL for the time being and report to the Sabres' affiliate in Rochester, but he could develop into a checking-line option for his new organization down the road.

Jackets Sign D'Amigo

News: Jerry D'Amigo signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo was acquired by Columbus earlier this month in a deal that sent forward Matt Frattin to Toronto. The 23-year-old D'Amigo made 22 appearances for the Maple Leafs last season, scoring one goal to go with two assists. He'll compete for a roster spot with the Blue Jackets during training camp.

Jackets Acquire D'Amigo From Leafs

News: The Maple Leafs dealt Jerry D'Amigo and a conditional seventh-round pick to the Blue Jackets on Tuesday in exchange for forward Matt Frattin, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo appeared in 22 games with the Maple Leafs last season, logging three points and a minus-1 rating. He'll compete with Corey Tropp and Jared Boll for playing time on the fourth line.

Leafs Send D'Amigo To Minors

News: Jerry D'Amigo was returned to AHL Toronto on Wednesday, James Mirtle of TSN Radio 1050 reports.
Analysis: Jerry D'Amigo has played in three games since his March 29 callup, scoring just one point and never managing to see the ice for more than 11 minutes over that span. The Leafs seem content to roll with the offensive depth currently on the roster, so they'll move D'Amigo to the AHL to get him some more ice time.

Leafs Recall D'Amigo

News: Jerry D'Amigo was recalled from the Marlies of the AHL on Saturday, James Mirtle of TSN Radio1050 reports.
Analysis: The Leafs are just lookign for some depth and a chance to audition some of their younger players as the chances of really pushing into a playoff spot seem slim. They're not out of it by any means, but it'll be an uphill climb. Jerry D'Amigo should get some decent ice time for a look.

Leafs Send D'Amigo To Minors

News: Jerry D'Amigo was returned to AHL Toronto on Monday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: Working outside of a top-six role for most of his stay with the Leafs, Jerry D'Amigo failed to make much of an offensive impact, gathering two points in 19 games. Peter Holland was recalled from Toronto in a corresponding move to take his spot on the active roster.

Leafs' D'Amigo Gets First NHL Points

News: Jerry D'Amigo scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Blackhawks. They are his first NHL points.
Analysis: He also seemed to inject life into a listless Nikolai Kulemin and that's something that's desperately needed. His offensive upside isn't huge, but he's fast and hard on the puck. And that's a great combination.

Leafs' D'Amigo Recalled From AHL

News: Jerry D'Amigo was recalled from AHL Toronto on Thursday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: Toronto ranks in the bottom third of the league in penalty killing, and Jerry D'Amigo's addition will help in that department. The 22-year-old has recorded five goals and three helpers in 19 games with the Marlies this season, and has a plus-21 rating in his last three AHL seasons.

Leafs' D'Amigo Sniping In AHL Playoffs

News: Jerry D'Amigo is tied for the AHL postseason goal-scoring race with six goals.
Analysis: He has nine points total to lead the Marlies and is a playoff-leading plus-10. He's skating with Nazim Kadri and Matt Frattin, and the trio sit one-two-three in team scoring. He could battle for a lower-line role with the Leafs next year.

Leafs Prospect D'Amigo Lighting Up AHL Playoffs

News: Jerry D'Amigo has impressed in the first round of the AHL playoffs. He potted five goals in a three-game sweep of Rochester.
Analysis: It's certainly impressive, but there's no guarantee it earns him a job with the Leafs next season. Still, it certainly helps to cement his prospect status.

D'Amigo Heads To Toronto AHL Afflilate

News: Jerry D'Amigo will start this season in the AHL.
Analysis: He survived until the last big cut at the Leafs' main camp. He struggled in the AHL last season as an underage player so watch his development carefully.

Leafs' Prospect D'Amigo Ailing With Back Problem

News: Jerry D'Amigo will not be at the Leafs' rookie camp because of a back injury, reports Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun.
Analysis: It doesn't sound too serious as Jerry D'Amigo will be ready for the start of regular training camp in another week or so. He doesn't have a chance to earn a spot with the Buds but will be looking to impress Leafs' brass nonetheless. He has potential as a sniper ... in a few years.
