Canucks' Dalpe Snaps Lengthy Skid

News: Zac Dalpe scored on the power play Thursday against Dallas, accounting for the entirety of the Vancouver offense in a 6-1 loss.
Analysis: He'd gone 10 straight games without a point -- not to mention three of the last four without a shot on goal -- so those fantasy owners still holding out hope for Zac Dalpe have to be thrilled just to see him on the board.

Canucks' Dalpe Shines In Win

News: Zac Dalpe scored his third goal of the season and added an assist in a win over the Coyotes on Sunday.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe impressed as the team's second line center, going plus-2 and firing four shots on goal. With Henrik Sedin (ribs/finger) currently out of the lineup, Dalpe is taking on a bigger offensive role with the club. Don't get too excited though, Dalpe only has six points in 34 games this season. While Henrik is out, Dalpe could be worth a glance in some very deep leagues, as all three of his goals have come in his last 11 games.

Canucks' Dalpe Scores In Win Friday

News: Zac Dalpe scored his second goal of the season as the Canucks' beat the Blues 2-1 on Friday.
Analysis: It was a fitting way to open the game's scoring as Zac Dalpe was just promoted to the Canucks' top line despite having just one goal through 28 games this season. Should he continue to skate with the Sedin brothers, you csan probably expect a continued boost in scoring from the 24-year old center.

Canucks' Dalpe Pots First Goal Of Season

News: Zac Dalpe scored his first goal of the season in Wednesday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Just 14 seconds after the Canucks fell behind 2-1 in the second period, the light-scoring forward was able to gather Dale Weise's pass to drive home the equalizer. After picking up an assist in Monday's game against the Flyers, Weise has now supplied two of his three points on the season in back-to-back games. Don't expect the scoring surge to continue.

Canucks' Dalpe Sent On Conditioning Assignment

News: Zac Dalpe was sent to AHL Utica on a conditioning assignment Saturday, the Vancouver Province's Ben Kuzma reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe isn't believed to be dealing with an injury but was nonetheless scratched each of the past two games, suggesting coach John Tortorella didn't really have a place for him in his lineup. The conditioning assignment will allow the Canucks to buy a little time on Dalpe before they'd have to pass him through waivers.

Canucks' Dalpe Likely To Center Fourth Line

News: Zac Dalpe is very likely to start the season as the Canucks' fourth-line center, Team 1040's Jeff Paterson reports.
Analysis: The recently acquired forward has never played more than 16 games in an NHL season and won't be counted on too much in Vancouver. The 23-year-old has some offensive potential, but don't expect much if he continues playing on the fourth line.

Canucks Acquire Dalpe

News: The Canucks acquired Zac Dalpe and center Jeremy Welsh on Saturday from Hurricanes in exchange for right wing Kellan Tochkin and a fourth-round pick in 2014, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: It's a trade of role players, though the Canucks are a bit thin at forward due to injuries and Zac Dalpe should be able to stick as a bottom-line NHLer here.

Hurricanes' Dalpe Starts With High Profile Linemates

News: Zac Dalpe skated on a line with Jordan Staal and Tuomo Ruutu on the first day of training camp, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Since Zac Dalpe is one of just a handful of players on the Hurricanes' roster with a two-way contract, he's a pretty safe bet to be sent down to the minors once the first training camp cuts are announced. Don't put too much fantasy stock in him yet.

Canes Bring Back Dalpe

News: Zac Dalpe signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Friday, the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe played in 10 games for the Hurricanes last season, scoring one goal and dishing out two assists. Each of the last three seasons, he has spent over 50 games with AHL Charlotte, and seen less than 20 games in the NHL. It seems he will likely remain in a similar role this season.

Canes Reassign Dalpe

Analysis: Zac Dalpe recorded a goal and two assists in 10 games with the Canes this season. Carolina called up Nicolas Blanchard on Wednesday to replace Dalpe on the roster.

Hurricanes' Dalpe Recalled

News: The Hurricanes recalled Zac Dalpe from AHL Charlotte on Saturday, the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe has tallied 19 goals and 38 points in 45 games with AHL Charlotte this season, and he has two assists in seven NHL games. He surprisingly began the year on the Hurricanes' second line before he was sent down to the AHL. This will be his third NHL stint of the season and he is unlikely to have a significant fantasy impact.

Canes Recall Dalpe

News: The Hurricanes recalled Zac Dalpe from AHL Charlotte on Monday.

Dalpe Demoted By Hurricanes

News: The Hurricanes have assigned Zac Dalpe to AHL Charlotte, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe, who has played in six games with the big club this season, picked up both of his points back on January 24. He figures to be back with the Hurricanes before long, but for now Tim Wallace is up in the NHL in his place.

Carolina's Dalpe Expected To Return From Illness

Carolina's Dalpe Makes NHL Roster

News: Zac Dalpe has made Carolina's final NHL roster and will begin the season skating on a line with Jordan Staal, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe was second on the Checkers with 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) during the lockout. The 2008 second-round pick could have a breakout season since he's starting with a high-profile role.

Carolina's Dalpe Has High-Profile Role In Scrimmage

News: Zac Dalpe skated on a line with Jordan Staal and Jeff Skinner in Tuesday's scrimmage, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: It's not clear if Zac Dalpe will make the team or if he'll have a large role. Carolina was likely just experimenting with line combinations during the practice, but this could be a sign Dalpe may secure a larger role than expected.

Carolina's Dalpe Recalled From AHL

News: Zac Dalpe was recalled from Charlotte of the AHL and is in training camp with Carolina, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe was second on the Checkers with 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) during the lockout. He has a good shot to begin the season on the NHL roster, but it's not clear if he'll be able to stay in the big leagues and secure a larger role. The 2008 second-round pick remains a top prospect, but his playing time may still be erratic.

Canes Send Down Dalpe

News: The Hurricanes have assigned Zac Dalpe to AHL Charlotte, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: The 22-year-old former Buckeye has recorded just three points (1G, 2A) in 16 games with the 'Canes this season. He's young and has potential, but he won't have much fantasy value as long as he keeps getting shuttled between Raleigh and Charlotte.

Dalpe Recalled by Hurricanes

News: The Hurricanes have recalled Zac Dalpe from AHL Charlotte, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe has two points in 13 NHL games with the Hurricanes this season, both of which came on Dec. 29, so he'll need to produce on a more consistent basis to help fantasy owners.

Hurricanes Recall Dalpe

News: Zac Dalpe has been recalled from AHL Charlotte, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News and Observer reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe performed well in Charlotte tallying 16 points in 23 AHL games. The Hurricanes need some secondary scoring from the lower lines so the Paris, Ontario native makes a lot of sense for that purpose.

Canes Send Dalpe To AHL Charlotte

News: Zac Dalpe has been assigned to AHL Charlotte, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe was recently practicing with captain Eric Staal on the first power-play unit so this move is a little surprising. Hopefully, Dalpe will continue his good form in the AHL from earlier this season (eight points in 16 games) and rejoin the Hurricanes later this season.

Canes' Dalpe Practices On First Power Play Line

News: Zac Dalpe practiced on Carolina's first power play unit Tuesday, Chip Alexander reports.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe has developed a nice chemistry with captain Eric Staal since being recalled last week, notching his first points of the season (one goal, one assist).

Dalpe Sparks 'Canes

News: Zac Dalpe, who was recalled Monday, notched a goal and an assist Thursday to help power the Hurricanes to a third-period comeback and overtime victory.
Analysis: Zac Dalpe assisted on Eric Staal's goal that reduced the deficit to 3-2, and two minutes later, he flipped a rebound up over James Reimer to tie the game and send it to OT. Workmanlike goals both -- good to see from a high-talent guy like Dalpe.
