Flyers Trade McGinn To Sharks For Pick

News: Tye McGinn was traded to the Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Analysis: Tye McGinn showed some decent scoring ability at AHL Adirondack last season, totaling 20 goals and 15 assists over 54 games. While the offensive production didn't translate during his brief runs with the Flyers at the NHL level, perhaps landing with a new organization may allow him to tap into his full potential.

Analysis: Tye McGinn is expected to make a full recovery from the procedure in six weeks. The 23-year-old appeared in 18 games with the Flyers during the regular season, totaling four goals and an assist. He will have a more legitimate chance at claiming a permanent role in Philadelphia during the 2014-15 campaign.

Flyers' McGinn Scores In Win

News: Tye McGinn scored his fourth goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 rout of the Panthers.

News: Tye McGinn was returned to AHL Adirondack on Monday.

Flyers Recall McGinn

News: Tye McGinn was recalled from AHL Adirondack on Friday, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Analysis: Tye McGinn could enjoy a decent length of stay with the Flyers in light of Zac Rinaldo's ankle sprain that will sideline him for the next six weeks. The 23-year-old scored three goals in six games in his previous stints with the parent club earlier this season.

Flyers' McGinn Sick

News: Tye McGinn sat out Wednesday's morning skate due to illness, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Analysis: The Flyers did trade for Simon Gagne on Tuesday, so there's a familiar face who can slot right in on the team's top forward lines if they need to replace Tye McGinn for any considerable length of time, which now looks to be for at least a few weeks. Regardless, he may not be duking it out with anyone for a while.

Flyers' McGinn Making Most Of Opportunity

News: Tye McGinn scored a goal in consecutive games Monday and Tuesday for the Flyers.
Analysis: The goal on Tuesday night turned out to be the game winner for Tye McGinn, who is turning out to be quite a grinder. He's logging time on the power play but his overall ice time is less than desirable at 13:54 per game. Despite limited ice time, he has five points in 11 games and a plus-3 rating. If the Flyers don't send him back down when Scott Hartnell returns it may mean spending the rest of the season in the NHL.

Flyers' McGinn Slated To Play Tuesday

News: It appears that Tye McGinn will make his NHL debut Tuesday after being called up, according to The Philadephia Inquirer .
Analysis: Based on the lineups coach Peter Laviolette rolled out at Tuesday's practice, Tye McGinn should see time with Brayden Schenn at center and Wayne Simmonds on the other wing. McGinn and Schenn were linemates with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, so there should be some level of comfort for the rookie.
