Ducks' Palmieri Records Two Helpers Saturday

News: Kyle Palmieri assisted on both Ducks goals on Saturday in Edmonton.
Analysis: The 24-year old now has four points in his last three games - three of which have come since his move up to the top-line alongside Ryan Getzlaf. The line change will certainly provide increased fantasy value for Kyle Palmieri, but he's still only playing 13 minutes a night since the switch. Keep an eye on Palmieri for the moment as he could become a decent right-wing substitute if needed.

Ducks Make Palmieri A Scratch Friday

News: Kyle Palmieri was a healthy scratch for Friday's shootout loss to the Capitals, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: It's the first time Kyle Palmieri had been scratched all season. The winger hadn't fired off a single shot over his last two games, which might have played into coach Bruce Boudreau's decision to give him a breather. Still, Palmieri has been quite productive when he hasn't been injured this season, posting 10 goals and seven assists in 28 games. He should quickly reemerge as a regular skater for the Ducks.

Production Keeps Coming For Ducks' Palmieri

News: Kyle Palmieri found the net for a power-play goal in Tuesday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: The goal was Kyle Palmieri's 10th overall on the season, and fourth with the man advantage. Despite missing about half the season due to ankle and shoulder injuries, Palmieri has shined for the Ducks when healthy, tallying 15 points in 24 games, including five in his last six.

Ducks' Palmieri Collects Two Points

News: Kyle Palmieri scored his seventh goal of the season and added an assist in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: While he missed time in December with a shoulder injury, Kyle Palmieri has managed nine points (four goals) in his last 10 games. Skating on the second line with Ryan Kesler, the 23-year-old is destined to improve on the career-high 14 goals and 31 points he recorded in 2013-14. He's a solid fantasy option in deeper formats.

Ducks' Palmieri Grabs Goal In Return

News: Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) tallied a goal in his return to action Friday against the Blues.
Analysis: Activated from injured reserve after sitting out since Dec. 16, Kyle Palmieri picked up right where he left off, finishing plus-2 on the evening while also earning four PIM. The winger has been limited to just 16 games this season, but has contributed six goals and four assists.

Ducks Activate Palmieri For Friday

News: Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve and will be back in the lineup Friday against the Blues, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks sent Emerson Etem back to AHL Norfolk to clear a roster spot for Kyle Palmieri, who has been out of commission since Dec. 16. He's expected to slot in on the team's second line with Matt Beleskey and Ryan Kesler, where he's enjoyed great success this season. Palmieri has five goals and nine points in 15 contests.

Ducks' Palmieri Skates Monday

News: Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) resumed skating Monday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri had hoped to return to the Ducks' lineup last week, but he didn't progress as quickly as expected in his recovery. Now that he's back on the ice and preparing for practice, Palmieri has readjusted his anticipated return date, stating that he now plans to be available at some point over the remaining seven games of the Ducks' homestand. The winger has been quite productive in the 15 games he's played this season, netting five goals and adding four assists.

Ducks' Palmieri (Shoulder) Still 1-2 Weeks Away

News: Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said Saturday that Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) is still a week or two away from returning, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri said last week that he was eyeing a return Saturday against the Coyotes, but it seems he hasn't progressed quite as expected. Look for Emerson Etem to head back down to the AHL once Palmieri is cleared to return.

Ducks' Palmieri Targeting Dec. 27 Return

News: Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) is aiming to return to the Anaheim lineup Dec. 27 in Arizona, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Though Kyle Palmieri is set to undergo further testing to determine the full extent of his shoulder injury, he didn't sound concerned about a long-term absence being in play. He could be cleared to practice at some point next week.

Ducks Place Palmieri On IR

News: Kyle Palmieri (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: It was suggested that Kyle Palmieri would be out indefinitely after suffering a shoulder injury in Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs, so the Ducks' decision to shuttle him to IR isn't an unforeseen development. Emerson Etem was recalled earlier in the day, ostensibly to take over Palmieri's spot on the Ducks' second line.

Ducks' Palmieri Out With Shoulder Injury

News: Kyle Palmieri suffered a shoulder injury in Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs and is without a timetable for a return, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks PR team said that Kyle Palmieri will be examined when the team returns to Anaheim, with the implication being that he's dealing with something more significant than a day-to-day issue. Palmieri, who had already missed the first month and a half of the season due to a high-ankle sprain, has five goals and nine points in 15 games with Anaheim. The Ducks recalled winger Emerson Etem from AHL Norfolk to offer the team some more forward depth while Palmieri is sidelined.

Ducks' Palmieri Finds Net Again Friday

News: Kyle Palmieri notched his fifth goal of the season in Friday's victory over the Oilers.
Analysis: The 23-year-old has quietly delivered points in four consecutive games, enabling the Ducks to generate offense despite the absence of Corey Perry (knee). Even so, it could be up to Kyle Palmieri to sustain this level of productivity, as he's only attempted five shots over those four contests while never playing more than 14 minutes.

Ducks' Palmieri Collects Two Helpers

News: Kyle Palmieri dished out a pair of assists and was a plus-2 in Friday's win over the Wild.
Analysis: The two-point outburst snapped a four-game scoring drought for Kyle Palmieri, who now has three goals and five points in 10 games on the season. Skating on the second line with Ryan Kesler, it's possible Palmieri could reach the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career. The 23-year-old is a solid secondary scorer who should be considered in deeper formats.

Ducks' Palmieri Notches Third Goal

News: Kyle Palmieri tallied the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over the Flames on Tuesday.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri has come out of the gate strong since returning from a high-ankle sprain in mid-November. He's potted three goals in five games while attempting 12 shots during that span. Look for him to remain a capable depth scorer for the Ducks on their second line.

Ducks' Palmieri Scores Big Goal In Loss

News: Kyle Palmieri scored his first goal of the year in his second game back Tuesday against Calgary, a late-third-period tally on the power play to tie the game at 3-3 before the Ducks eventually went on to lose in a shootout. He also laid five hits and collected four PIM.
Analysis: A nicely well-rounded performance for Kyle Palmieri, who'd sat out the whole season prior to Sunday's game due to an ankle injury. Even with the time he's spent on the shelf, Palmieri has the talent to exceed last year's 31 points, though it would helpful if he could break into a consistent top-six role.

Ducks' Palmieri (Ankle) Off Injured Reserve

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) was activated from the Ducks' non-roster injury list Sunday and will play against the Panthers, Curtis Zupke of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri has finally recovered from his high-ankle sprain that has plagued him all season and seems poised to make his debut against the Panthers on Sunday. He had two stints in the AHL to work up his conditioning, so he should be able to take a full load of minutes if Anaheim allows him to spend significant time on the ice.

Ducks' Palmieri Heads Out On Conditioning Stint

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) was sent to AHL Norfolk on a conditioning stint, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri is finally over the high-ankle sprain that has bothered him since late in training camp, but because he's missed nearly a month and a half of action due to the injury, the Ducks want him to get some games under his belt in the minors before returning to the NHL squad. He'll be able to stay with Norfolk for up to two weeks before the Ducks would have to activate him from their non-roster injury list, though they could bring him back after just a couple of games if he shows less rust than expected.

Ducks' Palmieri Being Treated As Day-To-Day

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) has been pleased with his progress and believes he's now being considered day-to-day, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri took part in line rushes as an extra skater at Tuesday's practice and no longer seems to be facing any limitations with his injury. It's doubtful that he'll be return to the lineup Wednesday against the Kings, but after getting in a few more practices, Palmieri's season debut could come over the weekend.

Ducks' Palmieri About Two Weeks Away

News: Coach Bruce Boudreau said Wednesday that Kyle Palmieri (ankle) could be ready to play in two weeks.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri experienced a setback in mid-October his recovery from a high-ankle sprain, but the Ducks seem to be pleased with how he's progressed since that time. He has yet to join the team for any on-ice activity, but has been able to skate on his own to maintain conditioning.

Ducks' Palmieri Improving

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) is nearing a return, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri hasn't suited up yet this season, but head coach Bruce Boudreau said the winger is set come off the non-roster injury list in the near future. Palmieri racked up 14 goals and 17 assists in 71 games last season.

Ducks Palmieri Yet To Get Back On Ice

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) has no timetable for a return and Coach Bruce Boudreau cannot confirm any details other than he cannot skate yet, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri is clearly going to be on the shelf for a few weeks if not longer. High ankle sprains are not a fun injury, especially for skating purposes. He is missed as and so is offseason addition, Dany Heatley, who is also currently on injured reserve, but is progressing well. The younger guys; Devante Smith-Pelly William Karlsson and Emerson Etem will get a shot at proving their worth.

Ducks To Place Palmieri On IR

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) is expected to be placed on injured reserve prior to Thursday's season opener against the Penguins, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri experienced a setback in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain on Monday, making him unavailable for the season opener and possibly longer. A timetable should become more apparent in the coming days for Palmieri, but it looks like his injury will clear the way for William Karlsson to clinch a spot on the 23-man roster.

Ducks' Palmieri Suffers Setback

News: Kyle Palmieri (high ankle sprain) suffered a setback in his recovery from injury, the Orange County Register reports. Coach Bruce Boudreau stated, "He's just not ready. Again, you just don't want to push that."
Analysis: Boudreau went on to say that Kyle Palmieri may not even travel with the team for Thursday's season opener. Palmieri suffered a high ankle sprain early in camp and has yet to play a preseason game. It's feared that Palmieri could be forced to miss a few additional weeks due to the setback. Palmieri, who set career-highs with 14 goals and 17 assists in 71 games last season, figures to yield ice time to Devante Smith-Pelly and Emerson Etem so long as he and Dany Heatley remains sidelined.

Ducks' Palmieri Back Practicing With Team

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) took part in a regular practice with the Ducks on Thursday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: After Kyle Palmieri was limited to skating on his own the last couple of days, the fact that he rejoined the team for practice is a sign that his high-ankle sprain is no longer bothering him. His role is somewhat in flux heading into the regular season, but whether he lands on the second or third line, another 30-point season should be within reach.

Ducks' Palmieri Skates For Second Straight Day

News: Kyle Palmieri (ankle) skated for the second straight day Monday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Kyle Palmieri is expected to miss the remainder of the preseason while he recovers from the ankle injury, but the team isn't yet ruling him out for the Oct. 9 regular season opener. He'll attempt to increase his activity over the next few days, after which the Ducks should offer more clarity on a possible return date.
