News: Officials in Riga, Latvia confirmed Saturday that Kristians Pelss has died, the Edmonton Journal reports.
Analysis: Sad news indeed about the passing of Kristians Pelss, a 20-year-old prospect who had just inked an entry-level deal with the Oilers a year ago. Many details surrounding his death are uncertain, but he reportedly jumped into the Daugava River from the Stone Bridge in Riga early Tuesday morning.

Kristians Pells: Oilers' Prospect Missing In Latvia

News: Kristians Pelss was reported missing Friday and may have drowned, USA Today reports.
Analysis: Local media in Kristians Pelss' hometown of Riga, Latvia reported the 20-year-old prospect jumped off a bridge into a river early Tuesday morning, and he has not been seen since. Pelss, the Oilers' seventh-round pick in 2010, spent the 2012 season with the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL, where he recorded one goal and seven assists in 20 games.
