Jackets' Bobrovsky Falls In Series Defeat

News: Sergei Bobrovsky surrendered four goals on 28 shot attempts in Monday's Game 6 loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky appeared to have left the Blue Jackets for dead after putting the team in a 4-0 hole after 40 minutes, but a dormant offense came alive for three goals in the third period, very nearly putting him in position to claim a win. Though Bobrovsky didn't have a particularly good postseason, all in all, he had a pretty good follow-up to his Vezina Trophy-winning campaign of 2012-13.

Bobrovsky Busy In Columbus Loss

News: Sergei Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 50 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh in Game 5 of the Metropolitan Division semifinals.
Analysis: The loss was a rough one for Columbus, as Goalie Bob did everything but score goals for the Jackets as they face elimination Monday in Game 6. Pittsburgh iced the game with an empty-netter late but squandering an effort like the one Sergei Bobrovsky gave on Saturday shouldn't sit well with Columbus. Expect him to be strong again for Monday's Game 6.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Allows Three In Win

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Penguins.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky hasn't been at the top of his game in Round 1 so far, but the Jackets will head into Game 5 with a chance to take the lead in the series anyway. With two of the next three games in Pittsburgh, he'll need to improve in order to advance in the playoffs.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Allows Four In Monday's Loss

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 37 saves Monday as the Blue Jackets fell 4-3 to the Penguins.
Analysis: He looked unbeatable through most of the first two periods as the Jackets held a 2-0 lead, but after a Brooks Orpik goal in the dying seconds of the second period, Goalie Bob fell back to earth with a thud. He'll need to regroup quickly if Columbus is going to have a chance of winning Game 4 and knotting the series back up.

Bob The Goalie Gets Columbus' First Playoff Win

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 39 saves in Saturday's double-OT win over the Penguins.
Analysis: He goes into the record books as the guy who backstopped the team to its first-ever postseason win.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Allows Four In Loss

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 of the 32 shots he faced Wednesday against the Penguins.
Analysis: The Pens took Game 1 by a score of 4-3, but the Jackets held their own on the road. Sergei Bobrovsky could have been better, but he'll remain the starter heading into Saturday's Game 2 in Pittsburgh.

Jackets' Bobrovsky: Four-Game Winning Streak

News: Sergei Bobrovsky finished the season on a four-game winning streak after ending up the 3-2 victor over the Panthers on Saturday night. He made 33 saves.
Analysis: It was his 32nd win of the season, four better than his previous career best set in his rookie year in Philly. He's the backbone for the Jackets and the Jackets will go as far this postseason as he can carry them.

Jackets To Start Bobrovsky In Finale

News: Coach Todd Richards confirmed that Sergei Bobrovsky would get the start in goal for Saturday's finale against the Panthers, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky looks to be on top of his game with the postseason set to begin next week, as he's won four of his last five starts and has allowed no more than three goals in 14 of his last 15 outings. He looks like a strong play against a Florida team that lacking in top-tier offensive talent.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Stops 33 Wednesday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 33 saves on Wednesday as the Blue Jackets clinched a playoff spot with a 3-1 win over the Stars.
Analysis: It's Sergei Bobrovsky's third straight win, and 31st of the season, as he seems to be peaking at exactly the right time. The Blue Jackets won't have a high seed as they head into the postseason for just the second time in club history, but they could have a goalie capable of stealing games and even entire series.

Jackets' Bobrovsky To Start Postponed Game

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the net Wednesday to start against the Stars in a game previously postponed Mar. 10.
Analysis: That game was stopped 6:23 into the first period after Rich Peverley had a cardiac emergency and needed to be hospitalized. The Blue Jackets held a 1-0 goal lead before Peverley collapsed on the bench, and that advantage will carry over Wednesday, putting Sergei Bobrovsky on the inside track for the win. The two teams will still play a full 60-minute game.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Wins Third Start In Four Games

News: Sergei Bobrovsky gave up a last-minute goal to send the game to overtime Tuesday against the Coyotes, but ultimately picked up the 4-3 win in the extra period.
Analysis: While Sergei Bobrovsky's 29-save performance wasn't quite a nice as the two shutouts he posted in his previous two victories, he did just enough to secure the win for the playoff-hopeful Blue Jackets. He'll likely be in the net Wednesday against the Stars spotted a 1-0 lead, as Dallas and Columbus will make up the Mar. 10 game that was postponed in the midst of the first period following Rich Peverley's cardiac emergency.

News: Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Coyotes.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky, who is on track to make his fifth straight start for the Blue Jackets, has notched shutouts in two of his last three turns as the Jackets battle to secure a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Blanks Islanders

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 31 shots he faced in a shutout win over the Islanders on Sunday.
Analysis: Not tough competition, but Sergei Bobrovsky still earned his fifth shutout in the season, and his second in three starts.

Jackets Will Start Bobrovsky On Sunday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will draw the start in goal Sunday against the Blackhawks, Jeff Rimer of FOX Sports Ohio reports.
Analysis: It will be the fourth straight start for Sergei Bobrovsky, who has been rather inconsistent of late. Over his last three games, he's sandwiched a shutout of the Flyers in between sub-.900 save percentage performances against the Avalanche and Blackhawks.

Bobrovksy, Jackets Fall Late

News: Sergei Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 38 shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to Chicago, including the game-winning goal with four seconds remaining in regulation.
Analysis: The late winning goal cost Columbus a point in the standings, but the Sport Coats figure to be in the driver's seat with a one-point lead on Toronto and three on New Jersey for the final spot in the East. With just five games remaining to shore up a playoff spot, don't be surprised to see Sergei Bobrovsky play all the remaining contests to give the grinding Jackets their best shot to make the postseason.

Blue Jackets' Bobrovsky To Start Friday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will be between the pipes for Friday's game against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky will be tested Friday by the Blackhawks' high-scoring offense, but he should be up to the task if he plays like he has lately: Bobrovsky has given up more than two goals just three times over his last 10 starts.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Fills Flyers With Regret

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 37 of 37 Thursday night in Philadelphia for a 2-0 victory over his old Flyers teammates.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky's fourth shutout of the year, it has to have the Flyers feeling even more regret over trading him to Columbus, where he won the Vezina Trophy last year. Though this hasn't been as good of a season overall, Bob's been about as good as any goalie in the NHL over the last three months.

Jackets To Start Bobrovsky On Thursday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the crease Thursday against the Flyers, Jeff Rimer of FOX Sports Ohio reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky will be looking to rebound from a heartbreaking defeat Tuesday against the Avalanche in which he coughed up a two-goal lead in third period before letting in the game-winner. Columbus holds a one-point advantage over the Maple Leafs over the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and will need Bobrovsky to come up big against the Flyers to maintain that position.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Blows 2-0 Third-Period Lead

News: Sergei Bobrovsky was perfect through two periods Tuesday, but surrendered two goals in the third then the game-winner in OT as the Jackets lost a tough one at home to the Avalanche, 3-2.
Analysis: Even though two of three tallies bounced off their own player, the Blue Jackets need more out of their reigning Vezina Trophy winner, who has come up winless in his last three starts while his team fights for their playoff lives. Backup Curtis McElhinney fared quite well in three games of relief of Sergei Bobrovsky -- who was dealing with an illness -- so while it's unlikely that McElhinney will supplant him, it will be interesting to see who coach Todd Richards turns to next in Thursday's date with the Flyers at the rowdy Wells Fargo Center. Bobrovsky now has a 27-19-5 record, .919 save percentage and 2.47 GAA in 52 appearances this season.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Will Serve As Backup Saturday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky (illness) will serve as the backup goalie Saturday against the Hurricanes, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Coach Todd Richards decided it would be best for Sergei Bobrovsky to get more day off the ice, as he looks to get rid of the final traces of his illness. Curtis McElhinney starts for the second straight game, but look for Bobrovsky to man the net for most, if not all, of the Jackets' eight April contests.

Blue Jackets' Bobrovsky Feeling Better

News: Sergei Bobrovsky (illness) is traveling with the team this weekend and could start the Blue Jackets' next game in Carolina on Saturday.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky was battling the flu over the last few days but apparently felt well enough to join the team for its upcoming road trip. No word on whether he starts Saturday, but at least he's back with the team. Look for coach Todd Richards to reach a decision on Saturday's goalie during morning skate.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Practices, Won't Play

News: Sergei Bobrovsky took the ice for the morning's optional skate, but will not start on Friday, Dan Kamal of Fox Sports Ohio reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky left Tuesday's game with the flu, but was hoping to play on Friday. It appears this will not be the case, and instead Curtis McElhinney will be back in net for the Blue Jackets.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Still Not Quite 100 Percent

News: Sergei Bobrovsky (illness) did not practice Thursday.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky wasn't quite feeling 100 percent recovered from the illness, so coach Todd Richards granted him a second consecutive day off of practice. It would still seem likely that Bobrovsky will be ready to start Friday against the Penguins, but he'll probably need to partake in morning skate in order for that to materialize.
