Jackets' Bobrovsky Nets Sixth Straight Win

News: Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 24 of 26 shots Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime win against New Jersey -- his sixth consecutive win.
Analysis: The Jackets may have nothing to play for but pride, but they're certainly proving that they've got plenty of that. Bob has in fact won 10 of his last 11 decisions, and he's posted save marks of .923 or better in all six games of his current streak.

Jackets' Bobrovsky: Eight Wins In Last Nine Starts

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Don't look now, but Bob the Goalie has won eight of his last nine starts -- can you imagine where the Jackets would be in the standings had Bob not missed so much time? Take advantage of this streak. He's smoking hot.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Shuts Down Blackhawks

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 33 shots in Friday's win over Chicago.
Analysis: Another great outing for Sergei Bobrovsky, who has won four straight games, allowing just nine goals in that span. The 26-year-old is now 24-17-2 on the season with a .916 save percentage and 2.76 GAA. The Blue Jackets may be out of the playoff race, but Bobrovsky has won eight of his last nine games, so ride him while he's hot.

Blue Jackets Go With Bobrovsky On Friday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky is slated to start Friday's game against Chicago, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky, who has won his last three turns, will look to help the Blue Jackets extend their winning streak to five games on Friday. With reference to Saturday's starter against St. Louis, coach Todd Richards indicated that a call on that front would wait until after Friday's game.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Stops 37, Defeats Ducks

News: Sergei Bobrovsky turned away 37 of 40 shots Tuesday in a 5-3 win over the Ducks.
Analysis: He came under fire, while his mates managed 14 fewer shots on the other end against John Gibson, but it didn't matter, as Bob came away with his third consecutive win and sixth in his last seven games. Over the course of the current three-game streak, hes's made 38, 38 and 37 saves, so Sergei Bobrovsky's teammates have kept him busy in the net.

News: Sergei Bobrovsky is in line to start Tuesday's game against the Ducks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky, who has won two straight games and five of six starts overall, will take aim Tuesday at an Anaheim squad that had a four-game winning streak snapped by Sunday's 7-2 defeat to the Rangers.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Sensational Again

News: Sergei Bobrovsky was sensational again Saturday, making 38 of 40 saves for the second straight game in a 3-2 OT win over the Flames.
Analysis: Goalie Bob has been embracing the role of playoff spoiler recently, turning in stingy victories against Calgary and Vancouver, both of which are jockeying for a playoff spot. Sergei Bobrovsky has just 22 wins in 42 appearances this year, but makes for an above-average play in the final few weeks of the season.

Jackets' Bobrovsky To Get Nod Saturday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will be between the pipes for Saturday's game against the Flames.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky has reeled off wins in four of his last five games, during which he's posted a .926 save percentage. The injury-plagued Blue Jackets aren't quite at full strength nor will they be for the remainder of the season, but there's enough talent surrounding Bobrovsky to make him a viable fantasy play most nights. He'll enter the Saddledome as the underdog Saturday, though his improved performance of late will aid the Jackets' chances of scoring the upset victory.

Bobrovsky Saves 38 As Jackets Roll

News: Sergei Bobrovsky rejected 38 of 40 shots Thursday in a 6-2 win over Vancouver.
Analysis: After giving up two goals in a 40-second span early in the second period of what had been a scoreless game, Sergei Bobrovsky got to enjoy watching his team answer with six straight goals on the other end. Unfortunately, the combination of the Jackets' unreliable defensive efforts and Bobrovsky's own inconsistency has been very damaging to the Russian netminder's fantasy value, as his GAA and save percentage are significantly off the standards he set over the last two seasons.

Jackets Confirm Bobrovsky For Thursday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky has been confirmed as the starter in goal for Thursday against the Canucks.
Analysis: No surprise here, as Sergei Bobrovsky was rested Wednesday while backup Curtis McElhinney got the nod against the Oilers, claiming the win in the shootout. Bobrovsky has played against the Canucks six times in his career, going 1-2-2 with a 2.41 GAA and .927 save percentage.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Expected To Start Thursday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to garner the start in goal Thursday against the Canucks, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets went with backup Curtis McElhinney on Wednesday against the Oilers, with the netminder posting a career-high 44 saves. Given that excessive workload, it's a virtual guarantee that Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the net for the second half of the back-to-back set, but official confirmation likely won't come until pregame warmups. Bobrovsky is 20-17-2 with a 2.82 GAA and .913 save percentage over 40 appearances this season.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Surrenders Three In Loss

News: Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 27 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
Analysis: The loss stops a four game winning streak for Sergei Bobrovsky, who had been battling a head cold since Saturday morning. He's been playing well lately, improving upon his GAA and save percentage to 2.82 and .913 respectively and should continue to see the bulk of the starts the rest of the way.

Jackets' Bobrovsky (Illness) Starts Sunday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will start in net Sunday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky was suffering from a head cold Saturday morning, but was expected to be ready for Sunday's game. He must have been feeling better Sunday morning, as he's already been confirmed as the starter. The netminder has won each of his last four starts in net, and will look to make it five against a Hurricanes squad near the bottom of the league in scoring.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Dealing With Head Cold

News: Sergei Bobrovsky was battling a head cold Saturday morning, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Coach Todd Richards indicated that for the moment, the expectation is that Sergei Bobrovsky will be able to start Sunday versus the Hurricanes, but an official decision on his availability may not be announced until the morning of the game. Even if Curtis McElhinney ends up drawing the nod Sunday, there's a good chance Bob will be capable of at least serving as the backup, preventing the Jackets from having to use an emergency call-up.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Makes 31 Saves In Win

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves on 35 shots in Friday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: That's four straight wins for Sergei Bobrovsky, who advances to 20-16-2 on the season. He's playing superb of late and has increased his save percentage to .914 and his GAA to 2.81. While it's been an inconsistent season for Bob, he's worth riding while he's hot.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Clips Wings With 41-Save Effort

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stole one for the Jackets on Thursday, stopping 41 of 42 shots in a 3-1 victory over the Red Wings.
Analysis: Columbus was sorely outplayed in this one, with the Jackets' skaters managing just 26 shots on goal to Detroit's 42, but Bob was a difference-maker again. He's won three of his last four outings, having surrendered a total of seven goals in that span.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Gets Another Start

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will be between the pipes Friday against the Oilers.
Analysis: Coach Todd Richards indicated a few days ago that Sergei Bobrovsky was likely to start both ends of the Jackets' back-to-back set this week, and after the goalie willed the team to a victory over the Red Wings on Thursday with a 41-save effort, he'll receive another nod. Bobrovsky has been solid in each of his last four turns, and should be a more than capable play against the Oilers, who own the league's second-worst record.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Set To Play Next Two Games

News: Coach Todd Richards said that Sergei Bobrovsky is scheduled to man the net Thursday against the Red Wings and Friday against the Oilers, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets elected not to go with Sergei Bobrovsky for both ends of their back-to-back set last weekend, but it appears Richards has since warmed back up to using his No. 1 netminder in such scenarios. Even so, if Bobrovsky submits a poor outing or sees a heavy load of shots against the Red Wings, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Richards call an audible Friday and give the nod against the Oilers to backup goalie Curtis McElhinney. With the Blue Jackets effectively out of the playoff race, it's not overly beneficial for the team to get as many starts as it can out of Bobrovsky, who has already missed a significant amount of time to injury this season. He'll carry a 18-16-2 record, 2.84 GAA, and .912 save percentage into Thursday's affair.

Bobrovsky, Jackets Win In Shootout

News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 of 32 shots and then all three in the shootout Tuesday in a win over Carolina.
Analysis: Bob was burned by a goal just 36 seconds into the game and another with just 10 seconds left in the first period, and he'd surely like to get those back, but he also locked things down thereafter while his team mounted a comeback. He's now 2-1 in three starts since returning from injury.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Starts Tuesday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will start in net Tuesday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky was needed in relief Saturday when he was supposed to get a day off, and ended up stopping 20 of the 21 shots he faced. He will be back between the pipes Tuesday as well, looking to improve on his 17-16-2 record on the season.

Jackets' Bob The Goalie Appears In Relief

News: Sergei Bobrovsky entered Saturday's game in relief and allowed one goal on 21 shots over two periods of play.
Analysis: He was supposed to get some rest Saturday after a solid game Friday, but the Avs were all over starter Curtis McElhinney and the Jackets from the outset of the game. The Jackets head to Raleigh to play the Canes on Tuesday night. We're guessing it'll be Bob's game to win.

Jackets' Bobrovsky Stops 21 Shots In Victory

News: Sergei Bobrovsky made 21 saves on 23 shots in Friday's win over New Jersey.
Analysis: It was Sergei Bobrovsky's first win since returning from a groin injury, advancing his record to 17-16-2 on the season. Now that he's back to full health, Bobrovsky, who owns a .912 save percentage and 2.86 GAA, returns to being the go-to-guy in Columbus. While the Jackets are well out of the playoff picture, Bobrovsky will start a decent amount of the games down the stretch and should post quality rate stats.

Blue Jackets' Bobrovsky Set To Start Friday

News: Sergei Bobrovsky will start Friday's game against New Jersey, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky, who allowed four goals on 32 shots in his return to action in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Caps, will look to help the Blue Jackets change their luck on Friday, as the team is in the midst of an 0-6-1 slide.
