Habs' Gallagher: Five-Game Streak On The Fly

News: Brendan Gallagher's two assists in a win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night extended his point streak to five games and eight points, including four goals.
Analysis: A new career mark is just around the corner -- he has 38 points in 62 games while his best is 41 (set last season). Take advantage of his current hot streak and put his name on your short list for next season's draft.

Habs' Gallagher Streaking

News: Brendan Gallagher had an assist, his fourth straight game with a point, in Thursday night's 5-2 win over Columbus.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher had been in a scoring slump until the past week or so. He's tallied six points (four goals, two assists) during his four-game run. He's a spark in the Candadiens' offense and will get his points, so fantasy players need to ride out those fallow periods. At 36 points through 61 games, he's sure to pass his career-high mark of 41 points set last season.

Habs' Gallagher Starting To Streak

News: Brendan Gallagher scored a pair of goals -- the game-winner at even strength and an insurance tally on a power play -- Tuesday in a 5-2 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher's starting to build himself up a little streak, as he's got points in three straight, with four goals and an assist to show for that span. He'll easily pass by last season's total of 41 points, but his fantasy value remains limited to deeper formats.

Habs' Gallagher Twice Finds Back Of Net

News: Brendan Gallagher scored both Montreal goals in Thursday night's 3-2 shootout loss to the Panthers. He'd entered the game with just two goals in the previous 20 contests.
Analysis: The dogged forward found himself in the right spot twice in the second period to give Montreal a 2-0 lead. Brendan Gallagher put himself right in front of Florida's Roberto Luongo, a position from which he was able to bang home a couple of rebounds.

Habs' Gallagher Nets First Goal In Nine Games

News: Brendan Gallagher scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over Toronto.
Analysis: It was his first goal in nine games, but he remains on pace to improve on his career mark of 41 points set last season. We'd honestly like to see a bit more; he hasn't had a multi-point game since Dec. 5. Still, he's providing value in deep formats, so keep the faith.

Habs' Gallagher Breaks Scoring Drought

News: Brendan Gallagher scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday night's 3-2 win over the Stars.
Analysis: The goal was Brendan Gallagher's first tally in nine games and just his first on the power play.

Habs' Gallagher Adds Assist

News: Brendan Gallagher recorded a power-play assist and attempted five shots in Wednesday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The 22-year-old isn't providing eye-popping production at the moment, but he's scored at a steady enough rate to remain a decent depth forward in mid-sized or deeper formats. Brendan Gallagher has three goals and three assists over his last nine games.

Gallagher Becoming An Oasis For Habs

News: Brendan Gallagher potted the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over the Islanders.
Analysis: It's the second game-winner in as many games for Brendan Gallagher, and his third of the season. Though just 22 years old, Gallagher has shown plenty of promise that he'll be a mainstay in the Habs' top six for seasons to come, as he's already produced 88 points in 160 career games. A major breakout doesn't look as though it will materialize this season, but Gallagher may have a 60-point campaign or two in him before his career comes to a close.

Habs' Gallagher Collects Two Points In Loss

News: Brendan Gallagher scored his seventh goal of the season, had an assist, and recorded five shots on goal in Friday's loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher is now up to 15 points in 28 games this season to go with a plus-1 rating. The 22-year-old is on track for a 20-goal, 40-point season, making him a decent fantasy option. He won't produce huge offensive totals, but he is a solid secondary scorer.

Canadiens' Gallagher Signs And Scores

News: Brendan Gallagher scored his sixth goal of the season in Saturday night's 4-3 shootout loss to Buffalo. Earlier in the day, Gallagher signed a six-year contract extension with Montreal.
Analysis: There was a bit of delayed gratification as the goal was initially ruled a non-goal, but a video review at the NHL offices in Toronto reversed the on-ice call. After a nine-game pointless drought, Brendan Gallagher now has eight points in the previous 11 games.

Habs' Gallagher Agrees To Six-Year Extension

News: Brendan Gallagher agreed to a six-year, $22.5 million contract extension with the Canadiens on Saturday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Still just 22, Brendan Gallagher has put up 39 goals, 42 assists and a plus-16 rating in 148 career games at the NHL level, including five goals, seven assists and a plus-2 in 23 games this season. The $3.75 million per year the Habs will be paying Gallagher on average over the next six seasons already looks team-friendly, but the contract could prove a steal for Montreal in the years ahead.

Habs' Gallagher Heating Up

News: Brendan Gallagher set up both Montreal goals in a 2-0 win over Boston on Saturday night.
Analysis: He's chugging along at about the same pace he delivered last year (41 points in 81 games). We'd like to see a bit more growth in his game and it might just be coming -- seven of those 12 points have come in his last eight games. Take advantage -- he might even be available at a slightly depressed rate if you can snag him in a trade.

Habs' Gallagher Notches Two Points In Win

News: Brendan Gallagher recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
Analysis: After snapping out of a nine game drought without a point, Brendan Gallagher has recorded five points in his last five games. He's been very streaky, as his other five points this season came in a three-game span, so it's been boom or bust for the 22-year-old. Still, at 10 points through 19 games. he's just about on pace with last season's 41 points.

Canadiens' Gallagher Snaps Drought

News: Brendan Gallagher scored the first goal in Saturday night's 4-1 win over the Wild. The point snapped a nine-game scoreless drought.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher's been feeling the drought and pressing, but he continues to play the same way and got rewarded Saturday.

Habs' Gallagher Beginning To Slump

News: Brendan Gallagher took a minus-3 rating and attempted two shots on goal over 15:12 of ice time in Sunday's loss to the Flames.
Analysis: The plus/minus damage isn't particularly worrisome in a game that several Habs took big negatives, but the 22-year-old's lack of point production warrants more concern. Aside from totaling five points over a three-game span from Oct. 11-16, Brendan Gallagher has been held off the scoresheet entirely on the season. His point drought currently sits at seven games.

Gallagher's Three Points Lead Habs To Win

News: Brendan Gallagher scored two goals and added a power-play assist in Thursday's win over Boston.
Analysis: That's points in three straight for Brendan Gallagher as he takes aim at building on last season's 41-point output. It'd be nice to see him get a little more ice time, though, as the lack of heavy minutes will keep Gallagher from piling up huge point totals often. On the flip side, it'll also help keep the undersized winger healthy.

Habs' Gallagher Pots Lone Goal In Loss

News: Brendan Gallagher scored his first goal of the season in Monday's 7-1 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Gally was just about the only bright spot for the Habs in the rout, as he was one of just three Canadiens -- joining linemates Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais -- to skate to a plus-rating (plus-1). Brendan Gallagher also fired two shots on net, laid two hits and spent 2:36 on the power play.

Canadiens' Gallagher Gets First Point

News: Brendan Gallagher's third-period assist Saturday night was his first point of the season.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher had begun the season on the second line, but was promoted to the top unit early in the second game. It turns out the second line has been the hottest out of the gate, while the top line's been quiet. Gallagher doesn't necessarily need to score to make an impact, but the Habs will eventually need Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Gallagher to join in on the fun of the team's 3-0 start.

Canadiens' Gallagher Seals Win

News: Brendan Gallagher scored a shootout goal to clinch Thursday night's 2-1 win over Washington. He had four shots on net and a hit while skating 14:40.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher's night included 4:15 on the man advantage and a promotion to the top line, replacing P.A. Parenteau, in head coach Michel Therrien's first line tweak of the season.

Habs' Gallagher Nets Two Points

News: Brendan Gallagher had a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay in the third game of their opening-round playoff series. He finished plus-2 in 12:40 of ice time.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher finished off a pretty play by defenseman P.K. Subban to give Montreal what proved to be the winning goal in the game. He has points in all three games in the series.

Canadiens' Gallagher Scores In Loss

News: Brendan Gallagher scored a power-play goal and had two shots on net in 13:00 of ice time during Thursday night's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The dormant Montreal power play has come alive in the past two games, though it did give up a shortie Thursday. This was Brendan Gallagher's first power-play point of any kind in two months and his second goal in the past three games.

Habs' Gallahger Losing Minutes

News: Brendan Gallagher, who was reshuffled to the second line, played 13:26 in Tuesday night's win over Colorado. The ice time is nearly three minutes less than his season average.
Analysis: Through no fault of his own, Brendan Gallagher finds himself off the top line and is now skating with Tomas Plekanec and Danny Briere. With the move off the top line comes a drop in his playing time. He still plays the same way -- aggressive, willing and in front of the net -- but now he's not lining up with the gifted scorers or playmakers as when he was with Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais.

Habs Move Gallagher To Second Line

News: Brendan Gallagher lined up on the second line with Tomas Plekanec and Daniel Briere for Sunday night's win over Buffalo. He scored his 17th goal of the season and had four shots on goal in the win.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher can play with any linemates, so it's not surprising to see him provide a lift for the Plekanec line. Coach Michel Therrien continues to tinker, hoping to find some semblance of balanced scoring on a team that doesn't generate enough offense. The latest tweak moves captain Brian Gionta to the third line.
