Blues' Tarasenko Goes Gordie Howe

News: Vladimir Tarasenko pushed his point streak to seven games Thursday with a goal, a power-play assist, a plus-1 rating and five PIM against the Predators.
Analysis: We know, you were asking yourself, "Sure, he might be the most electrifying young player in the league, but what more can this guy do for my fantasy team?" He's not known as a fighter, but Vladimir Tarasenko dropped the gloves with offensively inclined Preds defender Ryan Ellis. That's now 16 points -- nine of them goals -- in the last nine games for Tarasenko.

Tarasenko's Late Goal Lifts Blues To Win

News: Vladimir Tarasenko broke a scoreless tie Tuesday with his eighth goal of the year, a power-play tally early in the third period that sent the Blues to a 1-0 win.
Analysis: It's just another one for the highlight reel for Vladimir Tarasenko, who pulled off a fake and then snapped a lightning-quick shot past Cory Schneider for the game-winner. He's been a man possessed lately, scoring seven goals to go with two assists in his last five contests.

Blues' Tarasenko Keeps Rolling Monday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko bagged another goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Rangers. He now has eight points in the last four games.
Analysis: The 16th overall selection of the 2012 draft has been playing out of his mind for the last week, posting multiple-point efforts against Dallas, Colorado and the Rangers. It's not a complete shocker since Vladimir Tarasenko has long been touted as a gifted scorer, but he's looking like a bonafide stud who's set to smash his career high of 43 points from last year. Did we mention he's fifth in the NHL with 49 shots on goal also? If you're looking for a piece of the Tarasenko pie, go see if his current centerman Jori Lehtera is available -- he has seven points of his own over the last seven games and is a major breakout candidate this season.

Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko has tallied five goals and six points in his last three games, recording 15 shots on goal in that span. Through 10 games on the season, the 22-year-old Russian has delivered, netting six goals and 11 points, to go with an impressive plus-8 rating. You know what to do.

Blues' Tarasenko Set To Play Tuesday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) was on the ice for morning skate and is expected to play Tuesday against the Stars, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: One of the latest victims of the illness that has been passing around the Blues' locker room, Tarasneko was initially considered questionable to play Tuesday heading into the morning skate. Coach Ken Hitchcock confirmed after the morning skate that both Vladimir Tarasenko and the Blues' other ill forward, Ryan Reaves, were feeling healthy, so it's expected that both will see their usual allotment of minutes. Look for Tarasenko to occupy a spot as the right wing on the Alexander Steen-Jori Lehtera line.

Blues' Tarasenko Nets Hat Trick, OT Winner

News: Vladimir Tarasenko's hat-trick goal came on an overtime power play Tuesday, sending the Blues to a 4-3 victory over Dallas. He also added an assist to make it a four-point evening.
Analysis: He shook off the illness that'd been affecting him quite effectively. And Vladimir Tarasenko certainly needed this breakout after three straight games of silence. While five of his nine points have come in two of his eight games, highlighting the 23-year-old Russian's current lack of consistency, his extremely high-end offensive talent should help him accumulate plenty of points as the season goes on.

Blues' Tarasenko Questionable For Tuesday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Stars, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: A flu bug has been travelling around the Blues locker room lately, and Vladimir Tarasenko is the latest victim. He could play Tuesday if he feels well enough, but in any event, he's not expected to miss a significant amount of time.

Blues' Tarasenko Sets Up Three Goals In Win

News: Vladimir Tarasenko dished out three assists -- two on the power play -- and had seven shots on goal in Saturday's blowout win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: The Blues' third line of Vladimir Tarasenko, Jaden Schwartz, and Jori Lehtera was red hot Saturday, combining for 10 points in the win. Tarasenko now has a goal, four assists, and an impressive 20 shots on goal in four games this season. Considering he managed 21 goals and 43 points in only 64 games last season, this 22-year-old stud is most likely in for a career-year in 2014-15.

Blues' Tarasenko Nets First Of Season

News: Vladimir Tarasenko notched his first goal of the season Saturday against the Flames. He took five shots on the night.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko has found some early chemistry with newcomer Paul Stastny, as they combined for a goal on Thursday as well. The two could form a potent duo with Stastny feeding Tarasenko to take advantage of his quick release.

Blues' Tarasenko Will Start On Second Line

News: Vladimir Tarasenko will start the year on a line with newcomer Paul Stastny and fellow sniper Alex Steen, according to coach Ken Hitchcock, reports Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko will get plenty of opportunity for a breakout season this year and playing with Stastny and Steen will help with that. His high-end skill will make an impact in fantasy this year.

Blues' Tarasenko Strong In Preseason Win

News: Vladimir Tarasenko set up the winning goal and added three shots Thursday against the Wild. He earned more than 20 minutes of ice time in the contest, including more than four minutes on the power play.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko had a nice sophomore season in which he netted 21 goals despite missing a month with a hand injury. He only got slightly more than 15 minutes of ice time and two minutes on the power play per game, however, and if he sees an increased time this year it could yield a big production boost.

Blues Tarasenko Nets One In Pre-Season Win

News: Vladimir Tarasenko scored and took four shots in more than 16 minutes of ice time Tuesday in a pre-season win over Carolina.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko now has four goals in three pre-season games as he looks to build on his 21 goal sophomore season. If he gets more ice time than he did last year (15:10 TOI/G), the young Russian could see his production jump as his all-world talent and puck possession skills continue to improve.

Blues' Tarasenko Gets Second Goal In As Many Games

News: Vladimir Tarasenko scored the tying goal with seven seconds remaining in the third period of Saturday's 4-3 OT win over the Blackhawks. It is his second goal in as many games.
Analysis: This guy is super talented and could deliver a 70-point season next year. Unfortunately, his owner thinks that, too, so you'll probably have to overpay for him in keeper formats.

Blues' Tarasenko Will Play Thursday

News: Coach Ken Hitchcock acknowledged Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) will play in Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko hasn't seen any game action since Mar. 15 after breaking his hand, but after a month-long layoff, the Blues will be counting on him to provide the scoring touch he showed prior to the injury. He'll slot in as the second-line right wing, alongside Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Sobotka. Tarasenko had three goals and six assists in his last eight games before undergoing surgery to repair the broken hand.

Blues' Tarasenko Practices

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) practiced with the team Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko was a full participant in line rushes, as well as in the power play drills, so it's looking like he could be in the lineup for Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks. Keep an eye out for confirmation on his status after Thursday's morning skate.

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand), who had his cast removed on Monday, skated with the Blues on Tuesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Blues' Tarasenko Back At Practice

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) was back on the ice for practice Monday, reports NHL.com's Lou Korac.
Analysis: While this may seem a surprisingly quick return to practice, Vladimir Tarasenko hasn't yet shed the cast on his hand, so he's not that close to returning. He's still certainly going to sit out the rest of the Blues' regular-season contests, and he'll miss some playoff action as well.

Blues' Tarasenko Doesn't Skate Wednesday

News: Updating a previous report, Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) did not skate Wednesday morning, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The winger is still expected to be out through the month of April, so any skating he does won't mean much for a while.

Blues' Tarasenko Skates, Shoots

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) skated and took some shots Wednesday morning, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The winger still has yet to be cleared for contact, but it's certainly encouraging to hear that he was able to take some shots with his injured right hand. Vladimir Tarasenko was on a roll before getting hurt, racking up nine points in eight games prior to being sidelined March 15.

Blues' Tarasenko Skated Monday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) skated for the first time Monday after undergoing surgery on his right hand on March 19, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The young Russian hit the ice for a brief 10-minute skate with his teammates before practice, holding a stick in his left hand since his right is still casted. Aside from a three-game stretch where the Blues only combined for three goals, their tremendous forward depth has picked up the slack in Vladimir Tarasenko's absence - tallying 15 goals over their other four games without him. While it's nice for the Blues to see him working out so soon after his procedure, the fact remains unchanged for fantasy owners: he's done for the season.

Blues' Tarasenko Out With Hand Injury

News: Vladimir Tarasenko will undergo surgery on his right hand, the Blues' official site reports.
Analysis: The report adds that Vladimir Tarasenko -- who hurt his hand Saturday against the Preds -- will be re-evaluated in six weeks. With Tarasenko (who has 43 points in 64 games) out, the Blues have recalled fellow forward Dmitrij Jaskin.
