Blues' Tarasenko Stays Sizzling

News: Vladimir Tarasenko found the net for two goals in Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Coming off a hand injury that cost him the last month of the regular season, Vladimir Tarasenko has been phenomenal through four games in the series. He's tallied four goals on 15 shot attempts against the Blackhawks.

Blues' Tarasenko Gets Second Goal In As Many Games

News: Vladimir Tarasenko scored the tying goal with seven seconds remaining in the third period of Saturday's 4-3 OT win over the Blackhawks. It is his second goal in as many games.
Analysis: This guy is super talented and could deliver a 70-point season next year. Unfortunately, his owner thinks that, too, so you'll probably have to overpay for him in keeper formats.

Blues' Tarasenko Will Play Thursday

News: Coach Ken Hitchcock acknowledged Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) will play in Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko hasn't seen any game action since Mar. 15 after breaking his hand, but after a month-long layoff, the Blues will be counting on him to provide the scoring touch he showed prior to the injury. He'll slot in as the second-line right wing, alongside Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Sobotka. Tarasenko had three goals and six assists in his last eight games before undergoing surgery to repair the broken hand.

Blues' Tarasenko Practices

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) practiced with the team Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko was a full participant in line rushes, as well as in the power play drills, so it's looking like he could be in the lineup for Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks. Keep an eye out for confirmation on his status after Thursday's morning skate.

Blues' Tarasenko Making Progress

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand), who had his cast removed on Monday, skated with the Blues on Tuesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It's unclear when Vladimir Tarasenko will be able to suit up in a game, but coach Ken Hitchcock did suggest Tuesday that he expects Tarasenko to be available at some point during the team's upcoming series against the Blackhawks, which starts Thursday.

Blues' Tarasenko Back At Practice

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) was back on the ice for practice Monday, reports NHL.com's Lou Korac.
Analysis: While this may seem a surprisingly quick return to practice, Vladimir Tarasenko hasn't yet shed the cast on his hand, so he's not that close to returning. He's still certainly going to sit out the rest of the Blues' regular-season contests, and he'll miss some playoff action as well.

Blues' Tarasenko Doesn't Skate Wednesday

News: Updating a previous report, Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) did not skate Wednesday morning, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The winger is still expected to be out through the month of April, so any skating he does won't mean much for a while.

Blues' Tarasenko Skates, Shoots

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) skated and took some shots Wednesday morning, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The winger still has yet to be cleared for contact, but it's certainly encouraging to hear that he was able to take some shots with his injured right hand. Vladimir Tarasenko was on a roll before getting hurt, racking up nine points in eight games prior to being sidelined March 15.

Blues' Tarasenko Skated Monday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) skated for the first time Monday after undergoing surgery on his right hand on March 19, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The young Russian hit the ice for a brief 10-minute skate with his teammates before practice, holding a stick in his left hand since his right is still casted. Aside from a three-game stretch where the Blues only combined for three goals, their tremendous forward depth has picked up the slack in Vladimir Tarasenko's absence - tallying 15 goals over their other four games without him. While it's nice for the Blues to see him working out so soon after his procedure, the fact remains unchanged for fantasy owners: he's done for the season.

Blues' Tarasenko Out With Hand Injury

News: Vladimir Tarasenko will undergo surgery on his right hand, the Blues' official site reports.
Analysis: The report adds that Vladimir Tarasenko -- who hurt his hand Saturday against the Preds -- will be re-evaluated in six weeks. With Tarasenko (who has 43 points in 64 games) out, the Blues have recalled fellow forward Dmitrij Jaskin.

Blues' Tarasenko On Modest Streak

News: Vladimir Tarasenko notched a goal, an assist, a plus-2 rating and four PIM in Thursday's victory over Edmonton.
Analysis: He's got points in four straight, and is also plus-4 in that span. In sum, the electric young Russian's managed eight points in seven games during March.

Blues' Tarasenko Nets Two Points

News: Vladimir Tarasenko tallied an assist and an empty-net goal in Tuesday's win over the Lightning.
Analysis: The easy goal snapped a five-game stretch in which Vladimir Tarasenko had failed to find twine. Though his upside remains sky-high and he's got six points in his last seven games, Tarasenko is only a mid-range fantasy option at this point.

Blues' Tarasenko Practices Sunday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) was back on the ice for practice Sunday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The second-year wing had been out for a few days with what was likely the flu. He is expected to resume action this week and build off his 33-point total in 53 games.

Blues' Tarasenko To Play Saturday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) will be available Saturday against the Jets, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Reports.
Analysis: After feeling under the weather for the last couple of days, Vladimir Tarasenko returned to the ice for Friday's practice and doesn't look like he'll be limited at all Saturday. He's having a productive sophomore campaign with 33 points in 53 games for the Blues.

Blues' Tarasenko Skates Friday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) took part in Friday's practice, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko missed Thursday's game against Boston with flu-like symptoms, but his return to the ice Friday bodes well for his chances of suiting up against Winnipeg. Unless he takes a turn for the worse, it seems likely he'll be out there Saturday.

Blues' Tarasenko Iffy For Thursday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko is dealing with flu-like symptoms, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: While Vladimir Tarasenko hasn't been ruled out thus far, the report suggests that it doesn't sound like he will suit up Thursday night against the Bruins.

Blues' Tarasenko: Goal, Assist, Shootout Winner

News: Vladimir Tarasenko scored a goal and added an assist in regulation, and fired the winner in the shootout in a 4-3 win over the Predators.
Analysis: He has four points, including three goals, in his last four games, but those points have come in two games. His game is growing for sure, but he needs to add consistency to his tool belt, particularly for the benefit of head-to-head owners. The burst-drought pattern makes H2H play a real challenge.

Blues' Tarasenko Tallies Two In Victory

News: Vladimir Tarasenko potted two goals and finished with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's shootout victory over the Islanders.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko became the eighth Blues player to reach the 30-point plateau on the season, with St. Louis the only team in the league that can make that claim. Though Tarasenko isn't necessarily a focal point of the Blues' attack, his contributions are still sufficient enough to make him a useful depth forward in fantasy leagues.

Blues' Tarasenko To Play Thursday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) will play Thursday vs. the Rangers, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko was cleared for a return after taking part in morning skate without incident. "I feel much better, much better," Tarasenko said, after sitting out the previous two games with the illness. He'll skate on the third line with Magnus Paajarvi and Vladimir Sobotka in his return to the lineup.

Blues' Tarasenko (Illness) Practices Thursday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (Illness) skated in a line with Vladamir Sobotka and Magnus Paajarvi at practice Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Blues' Tarasenko Out Sick Again Tuesday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) will not play Tuesday against the Devils, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko will miss his second straight game with the illness as the Blues stick with the same lineup. The illness has come at an inconvenient time for the second-year forward, who enjoyed a streak of three-consecutive multi-point games to open January.

Blues' Tarasenko: Game-Time Call Tuesday

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) will be a game-time decision Tuesday against the Devils, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko is in danger of missing a second straight game with the illness, though the team figures to hold off on making a decision on his availability until after pregame warmups. The 22-year-old is enjoying a strong sophomore season, with 15 goals, 29 points and a plus-10 rating through 47 games.

Blues' Tarasenko Not On Ice For Warmups

News: Vladimir Tarasenko (illness) did not participate in warmups Monday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The winger missed Monday's morning skate with the illness, so it's not surprising that he won't be in the lineup against the Red Wings. Vladimir Tarasenko has 15 goals and 14 assists in 47 games to date.

Blues' Tarasenko Dealing With Illness

News: Vladimir Tarasenko missed Monday's morning skate with an illness, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The illness puts his status in question for Monday's game against the Red Wings. Expect coach Ken Hitchcock to wait and see how Vladimir Tarasenko progresses in the afternoon before deciding whether to include him in the evening's lineup.

Blues' Tarasenko Keeps Rolling

News: Vladimir Tarasenko notched a goal and an assist for the second consecutive game Thursday, pushing his point streak to five games in a 5-0 romp over Calgary.
Analysis: Vladimir Tarasenko's got three straight two-point games to his credit and eight points in his five-game streak. The buy-low window is rapidly slamming shut for those who covet the 22-year-old Russian winger.
