Sens' Da Costa Likely Headed For KHL

News: Stephane Da Costa isn't expected to be offered a one-way contract by the Senators, which means he'll likely end up in the KHL next season, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Stephane Da Costa won the team MVP award at AHL Binghamton last season after signing a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators. Although he was expected to have a role with the Sens in 2014-15, the team isn't prepared to offer him a one-way contract, which would guarantee his spot in the NHL for the entire season. Da Costa's next move has yet to be confirmed, but if he can't get the guaranteed contract he's hoping for, the KHL would be a likely option.

Sens' Da Costa Wins AHL Team MVP

News: Stephane Da Costa (face) received the team MVP award for AHL Binghamton on Saturday.
Analysis: The center missed a couple weeks after requiring plastic surgery on his face due to a high stick, but was able to return to the lineup Saturday. After the game, Stephane Da Costa received the team's MVP award for the season. He posted three goals and an assist in 12 NHL games with the Senators this year, and could be a big part of the team next season.

Sens' Da Costa Out With Facial Injury

News: Stephane Da Costa will miss the next couple weeks after requiring plastic surgery on his face due to a high stick to the face during a game with AHL Binghamton on Saturday, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 reports.
Analysis: The surgery will presumably keep Stephane Da Costa out for the rest of the season, but he should be ready to compete for a spot with the Senators once the start of training camp arrives.

Sens' Da Costa Sent To AHL

News: Stephane Da Costa was reassigned to AHL Binghamton on Friday.
Analysis: Stephane Da Costa has been productive since his Jan. 20 recall, with three goals and one assist in eight games, but he'll head back down ahead of Saturday's game. It seems the Senators just want to keep the 24-year-old active by having him play with the AHL club during the Olympic break.

Sens' Da Costa Scores First Two Of Season

News: Stephane Da Costa scored his first two goals of the year in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Columbus.
Analysis: His power-play goal in the first period and even-strength tally in the second staked the Sens to a 2-0 lead that they'd cough up before winning late. While Stephane Da Costa's seen action in parts of four NHL seasons, he's never been able to break into full-time work -- this was just his eighth game with Ottawa this year, and he skated just 8:06 despite the two goals.

Sens Recall Da Costa

News: The Senators recalled Stephane Da Costa from AHL Binghamton on Monday.
Analysis: Mark Stone left Monday's practice with an undisclosed injury, so it appears that Stephane Da Costa will be his replacement until he can return. Da Costa has 12 goals and 25 assists in 37 games with Binghamton this season, but was held scoreless during an earlier four-game stint with the Sens.

Sens Re-Sign Da Costa On One-Year Deal

News: Da Stephane Da Costa re-signed with the Senators on Friday on a one-year contract, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old entered the Senators organization with much hype but has largely floundered during his first two seasons with the club, regularly moving between AHL Binghamton and the big club. He appeared in nine NHL games last season, scoring two points and posting a minus-3 rating.

Sens Recall Da Costa

News: The Senators have recalled Da Stephane Da Costa from AHL Binghamton, team's official site reports.
Analysis: Da Stephane Da Costa, who has recorded nine goals and 24 points in 31 AHL games this season, will give the Sens some depth up front, but the 23-year-old Frenchman has much to prove at the NHL level in order to merit fantasy consideration.

Analysis: Da Stephane Da Costa opened the season with Ottawa but was sent down after totaling just five points in 22 games. He did pick up 19 points in 21 games with Binghamton, so hopefully he is able to up his scoring production in his latest go-around with the big club.

Ottawa Rookie Da Costa Looking Good

News: Da Stephane Da Costa has looked solid in Ottawa's first two games of the season.
Analysis: Da Stephane Da Costa is certainly making a case for himself to be Ottawa's second line center. He scored his first career NHL goal in Saturday's 6-5 loss to Toronto off a beautiful feed by defenseman Erik Karlsson on the power play. Da Costa has shown a lot of skill in the first two games as he has a knack for finding the open man in the offensive zone as well as the ability to strip opposing players of the puck with his excellent stick work. If he's still available in your leagues, he might be worth a pickup, especially in keeper leagues.
