Habs' Beaulieu Plays Tuesday

News: Nathan Beaulieu, who was called from the AHL Hamilton on Monday, skated 11:24 of largely error-free hockey in Tuesday night's 3-1 over the Canucks.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu's been up-and-down and in-and-out so far this season, a year in which the Canadiens were hoping the young blueliner would stake his claim on a starting spot for years to come.

Habs Recall Beaulieu

News: The Canadiens recalled Nathan Beaulieu from AHL Hamilton on Monday, Renaid Lavoie of Journal de Montreal reports.
Analysis: With Mike Weaver (concussion) moving to IR, there was a roster spot available to call up Nathan Beaulieu. He'll practice with the team on Tuesday, and could be in the lineup that night against the Canucks.

Habs Reassign Beaulieu

News: The Canadiens reassigned Nathan Beaulieu to AHL Hamilton on Monday.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu registered two assists and a minus-3 rating in 14 games with the Canadiens, and will be a prime candidate to be called up again if the team needs blue-line depth.

Canadiens Recall Beaulieu

News: Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from Hamilton of the American Hockey League, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu joined the team in Edmonton where the Habs kick off a three-game swing through western Canada. He began the season as part of the top-six defenders, but has since been supplanted by Jarred Tinordi.

Habs Assign Beaulieu To Minors

News: Nathan Beaulieu was assigned to AHL Hamilton on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu will stay with Hamilton until Sunday, when he'll rejoin the Canadiens in Edmonton. The 21-year-old has been a healthy scratch for the Habs' last three games, so the demotion looks to be just an excuse for the organization to find him some ice time.

Canadiens' Beaulieu Blocks Capitals

News: Nathan Beaulieu registered a team-high four blocked shots in Thursday night's 2-1 shootout victory over the Capitals.
Analysis: After Tom Gilbert blocked four in the season-opening win Wednesday, it was Nathan Beaulieu's turn to do the Josh Gorges impression Thursday. The Canadiens opted to move on from Gorges - one of the league's most prolific shot blockers - in the offseason and are looking for contributions like this from his replacements. Beaulieu is known more for his offensive proclivities on the blue line, but he put his body on the line for goalie Dustin Tokarski in the win.

Canadiens' Beaulieu Scores In Win

News: Nathan Beaulieu scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday night's 3-1 preseason win over Chicago.
Analysis: Of the three kid defensmen vying for a spot on the roster, Nathan Beaulieu has the edge over Jarred Tinordi and Greg Pateryn.

Beaulieu Could Suit Up For Habs On Monday

News: Nathan Beaulieu is a candidate to suit up for Monday's Game 6 against the Bruins, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu took part in practice Monday morning, which suggests that the 2011 first-rounder could enter the Habs' Game 6 lineup. Beaulieu, who recorded 27 points in 57 games with AHL Hamilton this past season, saw action in 17 regular season contests with the big club, recording two assists.

Habs' Beaulieu Assigned To AHL

News: Nathan Beaulieu was reassigned to AHL Hamilton on Thursday.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu stuck with the NHL squad for a full week, but he only appeared in one game, logging 16:29 of ice time in Wednesday's overtime loss to the 'Hawks. He has intriguing potential as an offensive-minded defenseman and could compete for a roster spot next season.

Habs Recall Beaulieu

News: Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from AHL Hamilton on Thursday, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: The Habs will bring Nathan Beaulieu aboard with Douglas Murray set to serve a suspension for the next three games. The 21-year-old had two points and a plus-5 rating in 16 games earlier this season with the parent club.

Habs' Beaulieu Returned To AHL

News: Nathan Beaulieu has been assigned to Hamilton of the American Hockey League, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: This makes sense for the organization while the NHL is on break for the Olympics. They keep Nathan Beaulieu active and getting ice time for the next two weeks. He's played well since his call up, so we fully expect him back in Montreal when the Olympic break is done.

Habs' Beaulieu Winner In Diaz Trade

News: Montreal's trade of Raphael Diaz clears the way for Nathan Beaulieu to remain in the lineup. Diaz was dealt to the Canucks for forward Dale Weise.
Analysis: Since Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs on Jan. 18, Diaz has been out of the lineup. The rookie defenseman has performed well, which rendered Diaz expendable. The 17th pick in 2011, Beaulieu has legit offensive upside, but is probably some time away from realizing it at the NHL level.

Montreal's Beaulieu A Plus-1

News: Nathan Beaulieu played 14:54 and was plus-1 with one shot and two penalty minutes in Wednesday night's loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Defensively, the Canadiens are a mess right now. Carey Price has been shaky; the D-men aren't preventing quality scoring chances; and there's little resistance in the neutral zone. As a result, we suspect Nathan Beaulieu will hang around for a bit.

Habs' Beaulieu Will Suit Up Wednesday

News: Nathan Beaulieu is expected to suit up for Wednesday night's game against Pittsburgh, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu was part of a new defensive alignment rolled out by coach Michel Therrien at Tuesday's practice. The left-handed shot will skate on the right side opposite Josh Gorges.

Habs' Beaulieu Brought Back Up

News: Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from AHL Hamilton on Sunday.
Analysis: The Canadiens returned Nathan Beaulieu to Hamilton immediately after Saturday's game, following his recall Friday, but he'll rejoin Montreal for his third stint with the NHL club this season. The 21-year-old has one assist and a plus-3 rating in six games with Montreal to this point.

Habs Send Beaulieu Back To AHL

News: Nathan Beaulieu was sent back to Hamilton of the American Hockey League following Saturday night's game, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: This surprises us. Nathan Beaulieu is one of a few sure NHL prospects skating for the Bulldogs and the parent club could certainly use his size and skill on the blue line.

Habs' Beaulieu Activated Saturday

News: Nathan Beaulieu, who was called up Friday, was in the active lineup Saturday and played 13:36 in a 5-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: As in his previous stints with the parent club, Nathan Beaulieu did not look out of place and was paired with P.K. Subbban when the Canadiens pressed for the equalizer late in the game. The Habs are in a bit of a rut right now, so it wouldn't shock us to see Beaulieu's stay to be an extended one.

Habs' Beaulieu Will Be Active Saturday

News: Nathan Beaulieu, who was called up Friday, will be active for Saturday's game against Toronto, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Coach Michel Therrien hasn't decided who won't dress to make room for Nathan Beaulieu, but we suspect Raphael Diaz (flu) is a likely candidate for the press box. Beaulieu gives the Canadiens more size on the back line with the added benefit of some offensive upside.

Beaulieu Recalled By Habs

News: The Canadiens have recalled Nathan Beaulieu from AHL Hamilton, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu, who has recorded 14 points in 32 AHL games to date, has played five games with the big club this season, recording one assist. Down the road, the 21-year-old blueliner has some fantasy upside, but that will only come to fruition when he starts seeing increased ice time at the NHL level.

Canadiens Reassign Beaulieu

News: Nathan Beaulieu was reassigned to Hamilton of the American Hockey League, following Saturday night's loss to the Sharks, Hockey Inside Out reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu had been in the active lineup the last three games, however, he played just one third-period shift against San Jose. The Canadiens also reassigned Greg Pateryn to Hamilton on Saturday, suggesting that Douglas Murray (upper body) is ready to return. However this shakes out, the Canadiens currently have five healthy defensemen on the roster.

Canadiens' Beaulieu Picks Up Assist

News: Nathan Beaulieu had an assist, a blocked shot and a shot on goal in 11:40 in Thursday's 4-1 win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu had been up and down between Montreal and AHL Hamilton the first few weeks of the season, but it looks like he's moved ahead of Jarred Tinordi on the organization's depth chart. He earned some power-play time Thursday (2:23) and gave the Habs a good blue-line presence on the man-advantage's second wave.

Canadiens Recall Beaulieu Again

News: The Canadiens recalled Nathan Beaulieu from AHL Hamilton on Monday, the Montreal Gazette's Dave Stubbs reports.
Analysis: Another week, another call-up for Nathan Beaulieu. He'll provide some depth on the blue line for the Canadiens for the time being, and it appears he'll be back and forth between Montreal and Hamilton until the Canadiens get healthy on defense.

Canadiens' Beaulieu Makes Season Debut

News: Nathan Beaulieu was activated Thursday for the first time this season, skating on the third defensive pairing, and got 11:43 of ice time in Montreal's 4-1 win over Edmonton. He stepped in for Jarred Tinordi.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu's been on the yo-yo between Hamilton and Montreal three times already this season.

Habs Recall Beaulieu

News: Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from AHL Hamilton on Tuesday, the Montreal Gazette's Dave Stubbs reports.
Analysis: He'll join the Canadiens in Calgary on Wednesday for their game against the Flames. Nathan Beaulieu was up with the team for one game last week, but was a healthy scratch.

Habs Recall Beaulieu

News: Nathan Beaulieu was recalled from AHL Hamilton on Friday, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Nathan Beaulieu's stay at Hamilton last just three days. He'll beef up the Habs' depth on defense with Douglas Murray, Alexei Emelin, and Davis Drewiske all out with injuries.
