Flyers' Couturier Adds Three Points In Win

News: Sean Couturier notched a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: The center is still just 21 years old, but 2014-15 will be his fourth full season in the NHL, and he seems to be developing into really solid player already. He now has three goals and two assists through seven games this season.

Flyers' Couturier Scores In Overtime Win

News: Sean Couturier scored in the first period of Saturday's 6-5 win over Dallas.

Flyers' Couturier Scores In Loss

News: Sean Couturier notched his team's only goal in Wednesday's season opening loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: The 21-year-old center has been showing promise for a couple years, and will look to have a breakout season in 2014-15. He certainly started off on the right note Wednesday, although his tally wasn't enough to earn the Flyers a road win to open the season.

Flyers' Couturier Flashes Offense In Preseason Win

News: Sean Couturier scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: The Flyers are looking for Sean Couturier to expand his offensive game this season. In fact, they've been looking for that for the last few seasons, and it hasn't happened. Last year, the defensively-minded center collected just 39 points. He'll add good depth to most fantasy lineups, but since past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, be careful not to overvalue him.

Flyers' Couturier (Ankle): Ready For Training Camp

News: Sean Couturier (ankle) has been skating since July and will be ready by training camp, reports the Courier-Post. "I feel great," said the center who had surgery in June. "I feel stronger than last year."
Analysis: He had a month of rehabilitation and then hit the training hard in July and August. Consider him good to go -- slot him onto your cheat sheet where you expected him to be pre-surgery.

Flyers' Couturier (Abdomen) Has Cyst Removed

News: Sean Couturier (abdomen) recently had a cyst removed from his foot, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier was seen walking on crutches with a wrap on his foot, spurring general manager Ron Hextall to confirm the ailment. The procedure marks Couturier's second of the offseason, after undergoing abdominal surgery during the first week of June. The center's abdomen requires 5-to-6 weeks of recovery, all but assuring that he'll achieve full health by the time training camp starts in September.

Flyers' Couturier Undergoes Abdominal Surgery

News: Sean Couturier underwent abdominal surgery last week and has a five-to-six-week recovery period ahead of him, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier's surgery apparently went as planned, so he should be good to go for the start of next season as long as he stays on schedule. The 21-year-old center tallied 13 goals and a career-high 26 assists for the Flyers in 2013-14.

Couturier Scores In Flyers' Win

News: Sean Couturier notched a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Sean Couturier ended a seven-game streak in which he posted straight zeros. The defensively-minded center has never been lauded for his scoring prowess, but he's still on pace for a career high in points, thanks mostly to the 26 assists he's logged this season.

Flyers' Couturier Notches Two Assists In Win

News: Sean Couturier assisted on both of Matt Read's two goals in Saturday's shutout win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Sean Couturier now has 11 points in his last 13 games, giving him 10 goals and 24 assists in 65 games on the season. He is producing nicely on the third line in Philadelphia, showing good chemistry with Read.

Flyers' Couturier Sports Three-Game Point Streak

News: Sean Couturier added an assist in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over Washington.
Analysis: A three-game streak isn't enough to excite his owners, but eight points in his last 10 games is decent production for a guy who isn't known for much production. He's been much more consistent of late about adding ones under the P column, and warrants starting lineup consideration in most leagues.

Goal For Flyers' Couturier In Win Over Detroit

News: Sean Couturier's nifty wrap-around goal iced the cake in Tuesday's 5-0 win over Detroit.
Analysis: The point is a welcome addition if Sean Couturier's been in your lineup recently. It's his first in his last four games, and just his fifth in his last 10. The 21-year-old center still has tremendous upside according to most analysts, but fantasy owners will have to be patient--his stock is flat right now.

Flyers' Couturier Snaps Goalless Skid

News: Sean Couturier potted his eighth goal of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat of the Canadiens.
Analysis: It marked Sean Couturier's first goal since Dec. 21, a span of eight games. Though the 21-year-old remains mired in a bit of a cold spell, he's still on track to post career-highs in goals and assists if his productive holds steady the rest of the way.

Couturier Scores In Flyers' Loss

News: Sean Couturier scored in the second period of Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has two goals in his last five games, but the young center is also a minus-5 over the same span. He's known for his prowess on the defensive side of the ice, so the ugly plus/minus rating is a concern.

Flyers' Couturier Scores Goal Sunday

News: Sean Couturier (personal) scored a goal in Sunday's game against the Capitals.
Analysis: Sean Couturier was away from the team Saturday to attend to a family matter, but rejoined the Flyers in time for Saturday's contest. In so doing, he potted his first marker since a two-goal outburst Dec. 4 against the Red Wings.

Flyers' Couturier Leaves Team For Personal Matter

News: Sean Couturier left the team Saturday to attend the funeral of his grandmother, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier left the team early in the morning and it is not yet known if he will be back in time for Sunday's game. He is listed as day-to-day, but shouldn't miss much time, if any at all.

Flyers' Couturier Posts Career-High Four Points In Win

News: Sean Couturier supplied a career-high four points (two goals, two assists) in Wednesday's victory over the Red Wings.
Analysis: Sean Couturier was already becoming a popular waiver pickup with three goals and three assists in his previous eight contests, and Wednesday's performance should only send his ownership skyrocketing further upward. The soon-to-be 21-year-old has largely failed to live up to expectations since his impressive 2011-12 debut, but his recent scoring run appears to have his star back on the rise.

Flyers' Couturier Grabs Game-Winner

News: Sean Couturier scored the winning goal in Friday's victory over Winnipeg, giving him four points in the last five games.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has a modest two goals on the season in 25 contests, but he has six of his season's nine points in the last nine games. Couturier is more of a two-way player tasked with shutting down the opposition and likely won't be a large offensive contributor to Philadelphia.

Flyers' Couturier: Two Assists In Win

News: Sean Couturier assisted on both of Matt Read's goals in a win over the lowly Sabres on Friday.
Analysis: This was a welcome follow-up to the goal Sean Couturier scored in Tuesday's win. We'll see if he can collect points in three consecutive games Saturday when the Flyers face the Islanders, a team that has struggled defensively.

Couturier Scores In Flyers' Win

News: Sean Couturier netted his first goal of the season Tuesday in the Flyers' 5-2 win over Ottawa.
Analysis: The goal accounts for just his fifth point of the season. Sean Couturier has been off to a disappointing start for those expecting a breakout season from the 20-year-old forward. Still, the Flyers as a team had been barren on offense until lately, so fantasy owners should hope this goal signals the start of an offensive bounty.

Flyers' Couturier Failing To Produce

News: Sean Couturier has amassed two points in eight games this season.
Analysis: Great things were projected for Sean Couturier after he scored 27 points and posted a plus-18 rating as a 19-year-old in 2011-12, but he's been mostly a disappointment ever since. Couturier has followed up a lousy sophomore campaign with a steeper drop in his points-per-game numbers despite seeing an uptick in ice time. With the Flyers seemingly in rebuild mode, Couturier will continue to enjoy regular minutes as the third-line center, but he won't retain much relevance outside of deeper leagues until he plays up to his potential.

Flyers' Couturier Slated For Third Line

News: The Flyers' acquisition of Vincent Lecavalier will likely push Sean Couturier to a third-line role, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier is looking to bounce back from a rocky sophomore campaign that saw him tally just four goals and 11 assists in 46 games. While he figures to start the season on the third forward line, Couturier could move up to the second line if he plays well, which would likely push Lecavalier out to the wing.

Flyers' Couturier Signs Extension

News: Sean Couturier signed a two-year, $3.5 million contract extension with the Flyers on Saturday, The Canadian Press reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier notched four goals and 11 assists in 46 games last year for the Flyers. Couturier went through a long scoreless drought and saw his ice time shrink. He found a little more consistency late in the year, though.

Couturier May Center Fourth Line For Flyers

News: Sean Couturier may be centering the fourth line Thursday as the Flyers change things up, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Analysis: Sean Couturier may find himself centering a fourth line with newcomers Jay Rosehill and Adam Hall. If that's the case, it will cut into his opportunity to accumulate points, which is a bleak outlook, considering how terrible this season has been for the second-year center.

Flyers' Couturier Notches Two Assists

News: Sean Couturier picked up two assists in 13:14 of ice time Thursday in a victory over Toronto.
Analysis: Don't look now, but Sean Couturier's got a modest four-game points streak going and has been noticeably better lately. There's a reason the Flyers balked at giving him up for Ben Bishop at the trade deadline; he's got a ton of talent and a bright future as a two-way forward.

Flyers' Couturier Ends Scoring Drought

News: Sean Couturier potted a goal Wednesday to snap a 27-game drought in the Flyers' win over Montreal.
Analysis: The drought was particularly surprising for a guy who buried 77 goals over a two-year span in junior hockey before getting the bump to Philadelphia last season. Sean Couturier now has 10 points and a minus-12 rating as a member of one of the league's most disappointing squads this season.
