Point Streak Roars On For Flyers' Couturier

News: Sean Couturier tallied the Flyers' lone goal in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes. He also tied his season high Thursday with four shots on goal.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has been fantastic since the start of April, recording at least a goal or assist in each of his five games so far this month. Given his ongoing hot streak, Couturier could make for a worthy addition to daily lineups in the Flyers' season finale Saturday against the Senators.

Flyers' Couturier Adds Assist In Victory

News: Sean Couturier registered an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Sean Couturier is looking at a strong finish to the season, having pitched in one goal and three assists since April started. Widely regarded as a two-way player, Coutuier hasn't fully broken out offensively since entering the league in 2011-12, though fantasy owners in deep leagues probably found some use out of his 34-point output with three games left on the Flyers' regular-season schedule.

Flyers' Couturier Collects Assist In Win

News: Sean Couturier recorded an assist in Wednesday's win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Sean Couturier's production has been noticeably of quiet over the last month or so, as he's collected only three points over his last 14 games. It hasn't helped matters that one of his linemates, Wayne Simmonds, was lost for the season last week due to a fractured left leg. Couturier is still only 23 years old, but it appears the future stardom his rookie year of 2011-12 seemed to hint at might have been exaggerated.

Flyers' Couturier Nets Goal In OT Loss

News: Sean Couturier followed up Saturday's two-assist performance with a goal in Tuesday's overtime loss to Calgary.
Analysis: Sean Couturier broke a four-game drought with a pair of assists on Saturday, and this goal is encouraging news to owners. If he can ramp up his offensive game, Couturier could finish the season with the highest points-total of his career.

Flyers' Couturier Sets Up Two Goals

News: Sean Couturier delivered two assists in Saturday's victory over the Rangers. The points were his first in five games.
Analysis: He continues to deliver strong defensive play for the Flyers, but we'd hoped for more offence by season four. Right now, his 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) will bring him in under his career mark of 39 (set last year). His talent is undeniable. Hopefully, he can start bringing more offense to the mix soon.

Flyers' Couturier Nabs Assists In Shootout Loss

News: Sean Couturier collected an assist in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Sabres.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has played stronger on the road than at home this season, something to keep in mind when he suits up to face the Predators in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Flyers' Couturier Finds Twine In OT Loss

News: Sean Couturier potted his 12th goal of the season in Friday's overtime loss to Columbus.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has been looking good of late, skating on the second line with Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read. With a goal and an assist in his last three games, Coots now has 25 points in 55 games on the season. He doesn't shoot much, but his top-six role and gushing potential makes him worthy of a look in some deeper formats. He should easily surpass his previous career high of 12 goals and will be a key player down the stretch for the Flyers as they aim to make the playoffs.

Flyers' Couturier Gets Empty-Netter

News: Sean Couturier deposited a goal in an empty net Thursday to give the Flyers a 5-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Despite the open net, Sean Couturier still had to wiggle his way around defenders and shoot beyond center ice for his 11th goal of the season. He now has 23 points in 50 games, but the "wow factor" is still missing from the Couturier conversation.

Flyers' Couturier Goes Minus-5 In Loss

News: Sean Couturier submitted a minus-5 rating over his 15:11 of ice time Monday against the Islanders.
Analysis: Other than collecting two PIM in three consecutive games, Sean Couturier has been a tremendous disappointment of late. He's failed to record a point in six straight outings, and Monday's showing put him on the negative side of the plus/minus ledger for the season.

Flyers' Couturier: Zero Points In Last Four Games

News: Sean Couturier has failed to post a point in his last four games.
Analysis: Sean Couturier's struggles coincide with the Flyers' overall struggles -- they've lost three of their last four. While he's on pace for one of his better seasons, he's still not posting eye-popping numbers in any fantasy categories.

Flyers' Couturier: Pair Of Assists In Loss

News: Sean Couturier collected a pair of helpers in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Coyotes.
Analysis: Sean Couturier remains on pace for his best offensive NHL season. He's been particularly strong on the road, and the Flyers have three more road games on this trip. He's worth a start in most leagues.

Flyers' Couturier Pots Goal In Win

News: Sean Couturier added his ninth goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Minnesota.
Analysis: As we noted previously, Sean Couturier is a road warrior. He now has 13 points in 16 road games this season. With five more games in this current road trip, Couturier remains a strong play.

Flyers' Couturier Nabs Two Points

News: Sean Couturier scored and assisted in Saturday's 7-4 win over Toronto.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has 12 points in 16 road games, and just five in 16 home games. The Flyers have seven more games left in this current road trip. Set your lineup accordingly.

Two Points For Flyers' Couturier

News: Sean Couturier scored a shorthanded goal and tacked on an assist in Thursday's win over the Devils.
Analysis: He's now quietly got a five-game point streak going, though this was the first multi-point effort of the lot. Despite his current streak, Sean Couturier's offensive output continues to be limited by his often defensively oriented role and mindset, as evidenced by his meager contributions in shots on goal -- he's only exceeded two in a game (which is how many he had Thursday) one time since Oct. 28.

Flyers' Couturier Pots Power-Play Goal

News: Sean Couturier got two-thirds of the way to a Gordie Howe hat trick in Tuesday's loss to San Jose, scoring the Flyers' only goal of the game on a first-period power play and later fighting the Sharks' Brenden Dillon.
Analysis: The goal -- his fifth of the year -- was Sean Couturier's first since was back on Nov. 6 against Florida, and it came on his only shot of the game. With only 37 shots through 24 games, Couturier's offensive game has actually been worse this year than last year.

Flyers' Couturier In Four-Game Slump

News: Sean Couturier has zero points, nine shots and a minus-1 rating in the last four games.
Analysis: Through the first 10 games this year, the streaky center looked as if he might best his point total from last year -- a career-high 39. Now, with just eight points through 20 games, it's not looking so promising. Even more concerning is his shooting percentage: it's a few ticks above his career average, which could forecast even more dry spells.

Flyers' Couturier Snaps Out Of Slump

News: Sean Couturier ended a five-game scoring slump Thursday with a goal and an assist in a win over the visiting Panthers.
Analysis: Because the last time he found the scoresheet, Sean Couturier notched three points on Oct. 22 against the Penguins, he actually owns a respectable five points in his last seven games. Still, it certainly doesn't look like his offensive game has taken any kind of step forward from last year, when he recorded 39 points over 82 contests.

Flyers' Couturier Returns To Morning Skate

News: Sean Couturier (illness) was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate, NHL.com's Adam Kimelman reports.
Analysis: The forward missed Wednesday's practice with a stomach virus, but looks ready to play Thursday against the Panthers. Sean Couturier has three goals and two assists over the Flyers' 12 games this season.

Flyers' Couturier Misses Practice

News: Sean Couturier missed Wednesday's practice with a stomach virus, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: The Flyers gave Sean Couturier the day off to recover from the illness with the hope that he'll be ready to go for Thursday's morning skate. If Couturier ends up participating in that session, he'll likely receive clearance to play later that evening against the Panthers.

Flyers' Couturier Adds Three Points In Win

News: Sean Couturier notched a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: The center is still just 21 years old, but 2014-15 will be his fourth full season in the NHL, and he seems to be developing into really solid player already. He now has three goals and two assists through seven games this season.

Flyers' Couturier Scores In Overtime Win

News: Sean Couturier scored in the first period of Saturday's 6-5 win over Dallas.
Analysis: Sean Couturier has two goals through the first five games of the season, an encouraging sign for owners looking to collect dividends on his offensive upside.

Flyers' Couturier Scores In Loss

News: Sean Couturier notched his team's only goal in Wednesday's season opening loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: The 21-year-old center has been showing promise for a couple years, and will look to have a breakout season in 2014-15. He certainly started off on the right note Wednesday, although his tally wasn't enough to earn the Flyers a road win to open the season.

Flyers' Couturier Flashes Offense In Preseason Win

News: Sean Couturier scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: The Flyers are looking for Sean Couturier to expand his offensive game this season. In fact, they've been looking for that for the last few seasons, and it hasn't happened. Last year, the defensively-minded center collected just 39 points. He'll add good depth to most fantasy lineups, but since past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, be careful not to overvalue him.

Flyers' Couturier (Ankle): Ready For Training Camp

News: Sean Couturier (ankle) has been skating since July and will be ready by training camp, reports the Courier-Post. "I feel great," said the center who had surgery in June. "I feel stronger than last year."
Analysis: He had a month of rehabilitation and then hit the training hard in July and August. Consider him good to go -- slot him onto your cheat sheet where you expected him to be pre-surgery.

Flyers' Couturier (Abdomen) Has Cyst Removed

News: Sean Couturier (abdomen) recently had a cyst removed from his foot, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Sean Couturier was seen walking on crutches with a wrap on his foot, spurring general manager Ron Hextall to confirm the ailment. The procedure marks Couturier's second of the offseason, after undergoing abdominal surgery during the first week of June. The center's abdomen requires 5-to-6 weeks of recovery, all but assuring that he'll achieve full health by the time training camp starts in September.
