Stars' Dillon Officially Out Monday

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) will not rejoin the Stars' lineup for Monday's Game 3 against the Ducks, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was able to skate before Sunday's practice, but it still looks like he's going to need some more time to recover from the lower-body injury. With the Stars already in a 2-0 hole in the series, it's possible we may not see Dillon again this season if the Ducks are able to clinch over the final two games.

Stars' Dillon Unlikely To Play Game 3

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) may skate Sunday but is still unlikely to play in Monday's Game 3 against the Ducks, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon missed the first two games and is seemingly headed for a third absence, but his potential return to the ice is at least a sign of progress. If he does get back on the ice Sunday, he'll presumably have a decent chance to play in Game 4 or 5 (if necessary).

Stars' Dillon Doesn't Practice Friday

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) was not a part of Friday's morning skate, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon missed Game 1 with a lower-body injury and it appears as though he will miss Game 2 as well.

Stars' Dillon Day-To-Day

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) remains day-to-day, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon missed Wednesday's playoff opener against the Ducks and thus remains iffy for Friday's Game 2, given his continued day-to-day status.

Stars' Dillon Absent From Morning Skate

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) wasn't on the ice for morning skate Wednesday and looks like a game-time decision for Game 1 against the Ducks, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was considered likely to play in Game 1 as recently as two days ago, but his inability to participate in practice since that time now has him looking questionable at best. The uncertainty of his injury situation probably makes him a defenseman to avoid in playoff pools.

Stars' Dillon Out For Game 1

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) will not play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Ducks.
Analysis: Coach Lindy Ruff noted that Brenden Dillon is not at the point where he's comfortable enough to skate yet, muddying his status for the remainder of the series. Aaron Rome will join the Dallas lineup in his place.

Stars' Dillon Did Not Practice Tuesday

News: Brenden Dillon, though he has been classified as a likely play in Game 1 of the playoffs, did not practice on Tuesday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: As Heika states, "That's not a good sign," regarding his availability for the start of the playoffs. The Stars will wait and see how he feels during morning skate Wednesday before rendering a decision on his status for Game 1.

Stars' Dillon Expected To Play In Game 1

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) is expected to practice Tuesday and play in Game 1 of the team's first-round series against the Ducks, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon missed the final game of the regular season while tending to the lower-body injury, but it looks like the Stars will have all hands on deck defensively against the Ducks. The blueliner picked up his game slightly his second NHL season, logging 17 points, 86 PIM, 168 hits and 149 blocks over 80 games.

Stars' Dillon Day-To-Day

News: Brenden Dillon, who left Friday's game due to a lower body injury, is day-to-day, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.
Analysis: "He'll probably skate on Tuesday and if things go well I anticipate he'll play," coach Lindy Ruff said of the status Brenden Dillon (who did not skate Sunday) in advance of the upcoming NHL playoffs.

Stars' Dillon Leaves With Injury

News: Brenden Dillon left Friday's game against the Blues with a lower-body injury and did not return, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was on the ice for 7:38 before departing with the injury, leaving his status unclear for Sunday's season finale against the Coyotes. The Stars were able to win Friday and clinch the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, so the team could just elect to rest Dillon on Sunday regardless of how he recovers over the next 24 hours.

Dillon Blocks Eight For Stars

News: Brenden Dillon got in front of an incredible eight shots in Monday's win over Winnipeg.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon took sole possession of the team lead in blocked shots after Monday's match, with 137 on the season. However, outside of blocked shots and penalty minutes — he added two Monday for a season total of 82 — Dillon isn't producing a lot this season for fantasy owners.

Stars' Dillon Warming Up

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) took warm-ups before Monday's game against the Sabres, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was paired with Jordie Benn during the pregame, and Aaron Rome skated as the seventh defenseman. There's a chance Rome will play instead of Dillon if Dillon doesn't feel good after the warm-ups, but for now, it looks like Dillon will be in the lineup.

Stars' Dillon Not Expected To Play Monday

News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) is not expected to play Monday against the Sabres, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was on the ice for the Stars' morning skate, but he was paired up with fellow injured defenseman Stephane Robidas in drills, a sign he won't be used in Monday's game. The defenseman missed his first game of the season Saturday against the Lightning.

Stars' Dillon Skates Sunday

News: Brenden Dillon (lower-body) was on the ice for the Stars Sunday morning skate, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon was a late scratch Saturday due to the ailment but appears to be feeling better Sunday. He should be back in the lineup this week.

Stars' Dillon Out Saturday With Injury

News: Brenden Dillon is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play Saturday against the Lightning.
Analysis: The Stars didn't announce the injury until pregame warmups, but Brenden Dillon more than likely attained the ailment at some point during Thursday's win over the Hurricanes. Dillon recorded his sixth goal of the season in that contest, giving him 14 points to go along with his plus-5 rating over 59 games.

Stars' Dillon Leaving Slump In His Wake

News: Brenden Dillon scored his sixth goal of the year Thursday, a shorthanded game-winner. He was also a plus-2 with a pair of shots.
Analysis: That's points in two straight for Brenden Dillon, who was without a point in the 18 games prior to that. The team depends on him, but not for offensive production. If that's what you need from him, look elsewhere.

Stars' Dillon Snaps Long Pointless Skid

News: Brenden Dillon's assist in Saturday's win over the Coyotes marked his first point since Jan. 2, a span of 18 games.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon has at least managed to offer some semblance of production on the defensive end during the slump, logging 1.8 hits and 1.8 blocks per game while chipping in 11 penalty minutes. Even those numbers aren't exactly difference-makers in those categories, undermining most of Dillon's fantasy value.

Stars' Dillon Producing Early Goals

News: Brenden Dillon scored a goal for the second consecutive game Thursday against Calgary and went plus-3.
Analysis: He's plus-5 in the last two games and now has three goals and two assists in nine games -- solid production for a fantasy defender. However, Brenden Dillon's never really been a big point-getter either in the NHL or AHL in his career, so there's a chance this is just variance, not a renaissance. He already has as many goals this year as he scored in each of the last two seasons.

Stars' Dillon Notches Two Points

News: Brenden Dillon scored a goal on his only shot and contributed an assist in Thursday's season-opening loss to Florida.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon's generally known more for his size and toughness than his offensive touch, but he's still only 22 years old and could develop more scoring ability over time. Monitor his progress.

Dallas' Dillon Sentenced To 12 PIMs

News: Brenden Dillon amassed 12 penalty minutes in Saturday's game against Colorado.
Analysis: He doesn't offer much in the way of offense (3-3-6 in 31 games), but if your format emphasizes PIMs, he's well worth a slot on your blue line.

Stars' Dillon Contributes Two Assists

News: Brenden Dillon notched a pair of assists in Tuesday's OT win over Columbus, snapping a four-game scoreless streak.
Analysis: Despite the recent slide, Brenden Dillon's been an offensive contributor in the month of February, as he's tallied all six of his points in 13 games this month. The 22-year-old has flashed occasional scoring ability in the minors and juniors in the past, and that combined with his tendency to rack up penalty minutes gives him some nice fantasy value, especially in deeper formats.

Gordie Howe Hat Trick For Stars' Dillon

News: Brenden Dillon scored a goal, assisted on another and managed to get into a fight during Friday's shootout win over Phoenix. The goal was the first of his career.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon has played a scant few NHL games before his outburst on Friday. odds are he will remain a depth blue liner on the Dallas roster, but he could see some value as a daily stream target in leagues that reward penalty minutes.
