Fraser Scores Two As Oilers Win

News: Matt Fraser scored the game's first goal and added an empty-netter with two seconds remaining Tuesday against Los Angeles. He finished the evening plus-3.
Analysis: A nice little game for Matt Fraser, but considering that his last points came way back on Jan. 29 against Buffalo -- a three-point explosion, that game -- he can safely be written off for fantasy purposes in the vast majority of formats.

Oilers' Fraser To Play Friday

News: Matt Fraser (concussion) will return to the lineup Friday against the Stars.
Analysis: Matt Fraser has missed the Oilers' previous four games with the concussion, which he suffered on a hit to the head from the Leafs' Nazem Kadri in a March 17 contest. Fittingly, Kadri was handed a four-game suspension for that hit, and now Fraser will rejoin the lineup after an absence of the same length. The winger is projected to skate on the Oilers' fourth line Friday alongside Luke Gazdic and Rob Klinkhammer.

Oilers' Fraser (Concussion) Scratched Wednesday

News: Matt Fraser (concussion) will be a scratch Wednesday against the Avalanche.
Analysis: Matt Fraser has been cleared by doctors to play, but the team will sit him out at least one more contest nonetheless. His next chance to take the ice will be Thursday against the Canucks.

Oilers' Fraser Cleared To Play

News: Matt Fraser (concussion) was cleared to play Tuesday by team doctors, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: With Matt Fraser passing through all stages of the NHL's concussion protocol, he's now be available for Wednesday's game against the Avalanche, though it's unclear at this juncture if coach Todd Nelson plans on using the forward. Fraser, who missed the last three games with the head injury, has tallied six goals and 10 points over 52 games between the Oilers and Bruins this season.

Oilers' Fraser Gets In A Skate Friday

News: Matt Fraser (concussion) skated on his own prior to Friday's practice.
Analysis: Matt Fraser was diagnosed with a concussion after taking a hit to the head in Monday's win over the Maple Leafs, earning Toronto's Nazem Kadri a four-game suspension. It appears that Fraser, who has already missed one game due to the concussion, could be in store for a similar length of absence or beyond, though his presence on the ice Friday is a good sign. Fraser still remains under the concussion protocol and hasn't been cleared to take contact yet, so he should be viewed as out indefinitely until he's able to practice with his teammates again.

Oilers' Fraser Diagnosed With Concussion

News: Matt Fraser was officially diagnosed with a concussion after taking a blow to the head from the Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri during Monday's game, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Matt Fraser should be viewed as out indefinitely until he resumes taking part in full-contact practices with the team. It sounds like the Oilers will recall Andrew Miller from AHL Oklahoma City to cover for Fraser's expected multi-game absence.

Oilers' Fraser (Head) Not At Practice

News: Matt Fraser, who took a hit to the head during Monday's game against Toronto, did not participate in Tuesday's practice, Chris Wescott of edmontonoilers.com reports.
Analysis: Matt Fraser took an illegal hit from Toronto's Nazem Kadri, who is scheduled to meet with the NHL on Wednesday. Fraser may have suffered a concussion, in which case he'd almost certainly miss Wednesday's game against Columbus.

Oilers' Fraser To Play Monday

News: Matt Fraser will play Monday versus the Jets, according to the Oilers web site.
Analysis: Matt Fraser had been a healthy scratch for the past three games but with several players likely out of the lineup against the Jets it's pretty much all hands on deck.

Oilers Make Fraser A Scratch Tuesday

News: Matt Fraser will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Islanders, Bob Stauffer of 630 CHED reports.
Analysis: The newly-recalled Ryan Hamilton will assume Matt Fraser's spot in the lineup. Since exploding for three points against the Sabres on Jan. 29, Fraser has been held off the score sheet in five consecutive games.

Oilers' Fraser Starting To Produce

News: Matt Fraser was a driving force behind the Edmonton offense Thursday, scoring a goal and assisting on the other two in a 3-2 win over Buffalo.
Analysis: The Bruins dumped Matt Fraser with a stat line of three goals and no assists in 24 games; he's now matched that goal total and more than doubled the point total in just 12 games as an Oiler, and he even has a plus-3 rating after going, well, plus-3 on Thursday. With five points in his last four games, Fraser merits a look in deep formats.

Oil's Fraser Finds Twine Sunday

News: Matt Fraser found the net on his lone shot attempt in Sunday's victory over the Islanders.
Analysis: After being let go by the Bruins last week, Matt Fraser has already tallied two goals over four games with his new team. The plus/minus drag he'll notice while playing for Edmonton is probably too significant to give him much fantasy value, but he looks to be a noticeable upgrade for the Oilers on their third line.

Oilers Claim Fraser Off Waivers

News: The Oilers claimed Matt Fraser off waivers from the Bruins on Monday.
Analysis: The winger had three goals and a minus-5 rating through 24 games with the Bruins, and will likely play a depth role with the Oilers as well.

Bruins' Fraser Placed On Waivers

News: Matt Fraser has been placed on waivers by the Bruins, csnne.com reports.
Analysis: If he goes unclaimed, Matt Fraser -- who has scored three goals in 24 games for the Bruins to date -- would be in line to be assigned to AHL Providence.

Bruins' Fraser A Healthy Scratch

News: Matt Fraser was a healthy scratch Monday against the Penguins, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Matt Fraser checks in with three goals in 14 games thus far, and while he figures to rejoin the B's lineup before long, he's off the fantasy radar until he is able to generate consistent production.

Boston's Fraser Scores Two In Win

News: Matt Fraser scored his first two goals of the season 1:28 apart in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Senators. The second one was the game-winner.
Analysis: The first came on a rebound; the second was a high wrister. He had just two goals in 14 games last season and this effort came in his fifth this season. He's never going to be an offensive stud, but he may have deep-league value someday. Just not this year.

Bruins' Fraser Sits Monday

News: Matt Fraser was not present for warmups in advance of Monday's game against the Avs.
Analysis: With the B's coming off a 4-0 blanking at the hands of Washington on Saturday, the team's lines have a new look on Monday, with Matt Fraser on track to sit out the contest.

Bruins Retain Fraser

News: Matt Fraser remains on the Bruins' roster in advance of Wednesday's season opener against the Flyers.
Analysis: Matt Fraser figures to work as a winger on the Bruins' third line out of the gate, though if he does get bumped up a peg at any point, he could merit fantasy attention, given that the 24-year-old has displayed a goal-scoring knack at the AHL level.

Bruins' Fraser Makes A Case To Stick

News: In notching his second nice goal in two preseason games on Friday against Washington, Matt Fraser continues to make a case to stick with the Bruins, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: With Milan Lucic out, Matt Fraser played on a line with David Krejci and Loui Eriksson on Friday. Once Lucic returns to action (possibly as soon as Saturday against Detroit), Fraser will take aim at securing a role on the B's third or fourth line, an outcome that seems quite plausible, considering his solid preseason effort to date.

Bruins Sign Fraser

News: The Bruins have signed Matt Fraser (foot) to a one-year, two-way deal, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Matt Fraser, who is bouncing back from a broken foot, which required offseason surgery, has resumed skating and is on track to compete for a wing spot on the Bruins' third or fourth line this coming season.

Bruins' Fraser Should Be Ready For Training Camp

News: Matt Fraser, who underwent surgery on his right foot a week after the 2013-14 season concluded, is slated to start skating in early August, ESPN Boston reports.
Analysis: The report adds that the winger -- who is coming off a season in which he recorded 20 goals and 30 points in 44 AHL contests with Providence, along with two goals in 14 NHL contests -- expects to be 100 percent for the start of training camp in September. The 24-year-old is in line to make a run at a roster spot with the Bruins, given that the team needs to fill a couple of spots up front after bidding adieu to veterans Jarome Iginla and Shawn Thornton this offseason.

Bruins' Fraser Played Through Broken Foot

News: Matt Fraser played through a broken right foot during the playoffs and may require offseason surgery, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: It's unclear exactly when Matt Fraser suffered the injury, but he apparently played through it during the Bruins' playoff run, which ended at the hands of the Canadiens on Wednesday. In the series, Fraser tallied two points - a goal in Game 1 and an assist in Game 2. Further updates will certainly be forthcoming, but for now it appears there's a decent chance the 23-year-old could go under the knife this offseason.

Bruins' Fraser Pays Instant Dividends

News: Matt Fraser, freshly recalled from AHL Providence, broke a scoreless tie 1:19 into overtime Thursday in Game 4 against Montreal with his first career playoff goal.
Analysis: In fact, this was his first career playoff game at the NHL level. Matt Fraser had, however, picked up five points in as many games in this year's AHL playoffs. Fraser's scored 90 goals over the last three AHL seasons, but never has he scored one as clutch as this, with the Bruins' season essentially in the balance. We suspect Thursday's performance will ensure that Fraser -- who skated 14:44 in the contest -- suits up again for Saturday's Game 5.

Fraser Recalled By Bruins

News: The Bruins have recalled Matt Fraser from AHL Providence, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: With Matt Fraser on the way to the big club, the Bruins sent Justin Florek to the AHL. Fraser has recorded three goals and two assists in five playoff games for Providence, on the heels of a season in which he recorded 20 goals and 30 points in 44 AHL contests. It's unclear, however, if Fraser (who scored two goals in 14 NHL games this season) will suit up for Thursday's playoff game against Montreal or simply serve as the Bruins' spare forward.

Bruins' Fraser Sent To AHL

News: The Bruins have assigned Matt Fraser to AHL Providence.
Analysis: Matt Fraser, who has two goals in 14 games for the Bruins, returns to Providence, where he has tallied 16 goals and 21 points in 23 AHL contests to date. The 23-year-old's demotion follows the return to the Bruins' lineup of fellow forwards Shawn Thornton and Loui Eriksson. Fraser is a candidate for another recall when injuries hit the big club up front again.

Bruins' Fraser Sits

News: Matt Fraser was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Sharks.
Analysis: Matt Fraser -- who has two goals in 14 games for the B's to date -- was the odd man out Saturday, with the return of fellow forwards Shawn Thornton and Loui Eriksson. At this point, it may take another injury for Fraser to re-enter the mix.
