Jackets' Jenner: Goals In Back-To-Back Games

News: Boone Jenner tallied a goal on six shot attempts in Friday's 4-2 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Boone Jenner has been extremely productive across multiple categories in his last two contests, logging two goals, 11 shots, and nine hits. Those playing in daily formats looking for a cheap value option at forward Saturday may want to consider Jenner, who will face off against an Islanders squad that will likely be starting its backup goalie in Michal Neuvirth for the season finale.

Jackets' Jenner Gets Game Winner, Assist

News: Boone Jenner scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blues.
Analysis: The points are his first since his return on March 21. He was playing alongside Ryan Johansen and that could be a recipe for production. He could be a cheap waiver grab during the stretch run.

Jackets Activate Jenner From IR

News: Boone Jenner (back) was activated from injured reserve Friday and will play Saturday against the Flames, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Boone Jenner's return from the back injury was believed to be forthcoming after he was cleared to travel with the Blue Jackets on their ongoing three-game road trip, and his activation now verifies as much. The winger had been out since Dec. 18 due to injury and has appeared in only 20 games this season, posting 12 points and a minus-8 rating. He could fill a top-six role immediately upon returning.

Blue Jackets' Jenner Nears Return

News: Boone Jenner (back) isn't slated to return to action before Saturday's game against the Flames, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Per the report, Boone Jenner looked spry at Tuesday's practice, but it looks like he's in line to miss a couple more games, barring a change of plans. Jenner, who last suited up for the Blue Jackets on Dec. 18, notched 12 points in 20 games prior to sustaining his back injury.

Jackets' Jenner To Travel With Team

News: Boone Jenner (back) plans to travel with the Blue Jackets for their three-game Canada trip that spans from Mar. 18-21.
Analysis: Boone Jenner has been able to resume skating in full gear for the last week, though it doesn't appear he's been cleared to take full contact quite yet. Coach Todd Richards indicated that while Jenner will travel with the club, the winger is not expected to play until at least the final game of that road trip, and could possibly be out longer.

Jackets' Jenner Takes Ice After Practice

News: Boone Jenner (back) took to the ice with a few teammates after practice Monday.
Analysis: Boone Jenner has been on the shelf since December with a stress fracture in his back, but has been practicing on his own some in recent weeks. He's yet to rejoin the team for practice, which he'll need to do before he gets cleared to rejoin the lineup.

Blue Jackets' Jenner Not Ready For Practice Yet

News: Coach Todd Richards said Wednesday that he doesn't expect Boone Jenner (back) to resume practicing with the team next week.
Analysis: Boone Jenner began skating on his own a few days ago and has reported improvement with his fractured back, but he's not quite ready to absorb contact in the immediate future. The winger, who has been out since Dec. 20 with the injury, likely won't return until mid-March at the earliest.

Jackets' Jenner Gets Back On Ice

News: Boone Jenner has resumed light skating in recent days, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: While getting back on the ice is always a positive development for players working back from injury, Boone Jenner likely still has a long road ahead of him before returning to game action. He suffered a back stress fracture on Dec. 20, and is just now getting back on his skates. He'll need to practice in full, and likely go on a AHL conditioning stint, before returning to the Blue Jackets' active roster.

Blue Jackets' Jenner Not Progressing

News: Boone Jenner has yet to resume skating since suffering a back stress fracture Dec. 20, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets projected Boone Jenner to miss 1-to-2 months when he first suffered the injury, but his lack of progress to this point suggests he'll be out for well beyond that timetable. For what it's worth general manager Jarmo Kekalainen indicated that the Blue Jackets have no intention of shutting Jenner down for the season. However, with the team's playoff hopes essentially nil thanks to a torrent of injuries, it wouldn't be a surprise if Kekalainen changed his tune over the next few weeks.

Jackets' Jenner Out 1-2 Months With Back Injury

News: Boone Jenner will miss one to two months after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his back Saturday, the Columbus Dispatch reports. The Blue Jackets have placed him on injured reserve.
Analysis: The injury curse that has plagued the Jackets all season has returned with a vengeance. In redraft leagues, it's safe to cut Boone Jenner loose given how much time he's expected to miss. The winger had 12 points and a minus-8 rating over 20 games.

Jackets' Jenner: Five Goals In Last Six Games

News: Boone Jenner scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins. He has six points, including five goals, in his last six games.
Analysis: The goal came on a penalty shot after he was hauled down by Simon Depres while on a break. He's busting it on every shift and has delivered 12 points in just 18 games. He's well on his way to a career best in points. Take advantage of his streak.

Goals In Four Straight For Jackets' Jenner

News: Boone Jenner found twine for the fourth consecutive game Tuesday, opening the scoring with a power-play goal in a 3-2 overtime win against the Flyers.
Analysis: Despite his recent success, the Jackets shifted Boone Jenner from center, where he'd spent the last six games, back to left wing on the top line with Ryan Johansen. The move may have been precipitated by his last matchup with the Flyers, when he lost all four of his faceoffs. Either way, the position bouncing is nice for his fantasy owners, who would surely love to see the 21-year-old gain eligibility at both center and wing -- especially if he keeps producing offensively.

Jackets' Jenner: Goal Streak Now At Three Games

News: Boone Jenner stretched his goal streak to three goals and three games with a goal in Saturday's win over the Lightning.
Analysis: Boone Jenner is a hard-working forward who plays hard and knows how to score. And while he's missed some time this season, he's a good roll right now. Stick him in.

Jackets' Jenner Nets Game Winner

News: Boone Jenner scored his second goal of the season, a game winner in the third period, in Monday's 2-1 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Boone Jenner has cooled off since recording five points in his first six contests, with just two in his last seven. He put up 29 points (16 goals) in his rookie campaign, but the 21-year-old likely won't end up improving on that total by that much.

Jackets' Jenner Nets First Goal Of Season

News: Boone Jenner scored his first goal of the season on the power play Saturday night in a loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: He actually has six points in eight games this season and is also throwing a lot of hits. He has solid secondary fantasy value; deploy him accordingly.

Jackets' Jenner Produces Two Assists

News: Boone Jenner picked up two assists, went plus-1, grabbed two PIM and laid four hits in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Washington.
Analysis: Boone Jenner won just six out of 26 faceoffs, but fortunately, that doesn't count in most fantasy leagues. He's got two scoreless games and a pair of two-assist efforts in four games since returning from the hand injury that kept him out for the start of the season.

Blue Jackets' Jenner Records Two Assists In Loss

News: Boone Jenner bagged a pair of assists and had five shots on goal in Friday's overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
Analysis: It was only the second game of the year for Boone Jenner, who missed the start of the season with a broken hand. The 21-year-old center, who had 29 points (16 goals) in his 2013-14 rookie campaign, is off to a good start in 2014-15. Centering a line with Scott Hartnell and Cam Atkinson as his wingers, the youngster should improve on the numbers he put up last year as a rookie.

Jackets' Jenner Back At Practice

News: Boone Jenner (hand) was a full participant at Monday's practice, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It looks like the Blue Jackets could get Boone Jenner back Tuesday against the Hurricanes, which would be great news for the depleted team. Jenner recorded 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 games last year in his first NHL season.

Blue Jackets' Jenner Expected To Play Next Week

News: Boone Jenner (hand) is expected to make his season debut next week, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
Analysis: Boone Jenner practiced Thursday for the third straight day, testing out his injury by handling pucks. The Blue Jackets are in desperate need of help up front with six forwards (including Jenner) sidelined, so they will welcome Jenner's return to the lineup when it comes. An exact date for Jenner's debut has not been determined, but Columbus plays Tuesday, Friday and Saturday next week.

Jackets' Jenner Skates

News: Boone Jenner (hand) practiced with the team Monday, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Boone Jenner has been sidelined for the whole season so far with a broken hand, but it's a good sign that he returned to the ice Monday. The center had a great season in 2013-14 as a rookie, racking up 16 goals and 13 assists in 72 games.

Blue Jackets Place Jenner On Injured Reserve

News: Boone Jenner (Hand) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Shawn Mitchell of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Boone Jenner is expected to miss five weeks with the injury, and the placement on IR is no surprise. He tallied 16 goals and 29 points in his rookies season, and is in line to contribute as one of the top six forwards for Columbus when he returns.

Jackets' Jenner Out Five Weeks After Surgery

News: Boone Jenner had surgery on his broken hand Tuesday and is expected to miss approximately five weeks, the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Analysis: Boone Jenner is coming off a successful rookie season in which he notched 16 goals and 29 points, setting him up to become a top-six forward with Columbus in 2014-15. In light of this news, the Blue Jackets' first two lines look highly unsettled, as Jenner's absence, Nathan Horton's back problems, and Ryan Johansen's contract dispute have created three vacancies. Jenner should be a valuable contributor when he returns to action, but he'll likely plummet down cheat sheets with the knowledge that he'll be out until November.

Jackets' Jenner Out With Broken Hand

News: Boone Jenner suffered a broken left hand during Sunday's practice after being struck by a puck, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: He'll undergo more tests before the Jackets have a clear idea regarding the timetable for his return, but initial reports suggest Boone Jenner could be out as long as two months. Combined with Ryan Johansen's contract dispute and Nathan Horton's lingering back issues, the club will begin the regular season missing an entire line's worth of top six forwards.

Jackets' Jenner Expected To Miss Monday's Game

News: Boone Jenner (undisclosed) was not present at the team's morning skate Monday, Rob Mixer of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: There's still no word on the nature of Boone Jenner's injury, but it's a little concerning that he won't be in the lineup Monday. Marko Dano is expected to replace Jenner in the lineup for now, but it would be wise to keep an eye on Jenner's status over the next couple days.
