Bruins' Khokhlachev Returns To AHL

News: The Bruins have assigned Alexander Khokhlachev to AHL Providence, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Alexander Khokhlachev recorded two shots in 15:14 worth of ice time in Sunday's loss to New Jersey, which marked his NHL regular season debut. He returns to Providence as the team's leading scorer and one of the Boston organization's more promising young forwards.

Khokhlachev Recalled By Bruins

News: The Bruins have recalled Alexander Khokhlachev from AHL Providence on an emergency basis, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: With the Bruins having clinched the Presidents' Trophy on Saturday, the team is expected to rest several key players Sunday against New Jersey, which paves the way for Alexander Khokhlachev (as well as fellow call-ups Craig Cunningham, Justin Florek and Matt Lindblad) to see action in the team's regular season finale. The promising Khokhlachev -- a 2011 second-rounder -- currently leads Providence in scoring, with 57 points in 63 AHL contests.

Bruins' Khokhlachev Produces At AHL Level

News: Alexander Khokhlachev leads AHL Providence in scoring, with 57 points (including 21 goals) in 61 games.
Analysis: While Alexander Khokhlachev, a 2011 second-rounder, has had an impressive AHL season, the Bruins have plenty of depth up front, so the 20-year-old likely won't be rushed to the NHL. Still, it's not hard to imagine the nifty forward getting a chance to make some noise with the big club as soon as next season.

Bruins' Khokhlachev Produces For AHL Providence

News: Though Alexander Khokhlachev had a seven-game point-scoring streak snapped in Sunday's loss to Bridgeport, he has recorded 36 points in 45 games overall, which places him second (behind Nick Johnson) in scoring for AHL Providence.
Analysis: Prior to Sunday's game, Alexander Khokhlachev -- who was up with the B's briefly last week -- notched four goals and 10 points in that seven-game span. While the 20-year-old forward still needs some AHL seasoning, it's conceivable that Khokhlachev will see some ice time with the big club down the stretch, when injuries hit the Bruins up front.

Bruins Recall Khokhlachev

News: Alexander Khokhlachev was recalled from AHL Providence on Thursday, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Alexander Khokhlachev skated on the first line at Thursday's practice in place of David Krejci, who will take a few days to rest up after the Czech Republic was eliminated from the Olympics on Wednesday. Once Krejci rejoins the Bruins for practices, expect Khokhlachev to be shuttled back to Providence.

Khokhlachev Sent Down By Bruins

News: The Bruins have assigned Alexander Khokhlachev to AHL Providence, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: At 20, he still needs some seasoning, but in time the shifty Alexander Khokhlachev, projects as a feisty forward, who can provide the B's with some spark on offense.

Bruins' Khokhlachev Stays Put

News: A deal that would have sent Alexander Khokhlachev to Calgary along with defenseman Matt Bartkowski and a first-round pick in exchange for Jarome Iginla fell apart Wednesday, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Alexander Khokhlachev -- selected in the second round (40th overall) of the 2011 NHL entry draft -- has most recently played two games for AHL Providence, without recording a point. The 5-10, 172-pounder started the current season in the KHL, but when he eventually headed to North America, he displayed some scoring punch while with OHL Windsor, racking up 48 points in 29 games. At 19, he still needs some seasoning, but in time Khokhlachev, projects as a feisty forward, who can provide the B's (or another team, if he is ever dealt) with some spark on offense.

Bruins' Prospect Khokhlachev Back In North America

News: Alexander Khokhlachev, who returned to the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL following the World Junior Hockey Championships, has recorded three goals and two assists in his first three games back with the team.
Analysis: Alexander Khokhlachev scored just seven points in 26 games with Moscow Spartak in the KHL prior to the World Juniors, but he's off to a nice start in his return to the OHL. In any case, Khokhlachev's return to North America is great news for the Bruins' organization, given that the undersized-but-feisty forward has the upside to provide some offensive spark for the big club down the road.
