Bolts' Palat Says He'll Play Friday

News: Ondrej Palat (lower body) said he would play in Friday's game against the Devils after he was able to take part in team's gameday skate, NHL.com's Dan Rosen reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat has been on the ice without incident for the last two days, so it's probably safe to assume that he'll be good to go following a four-game absence. The probable re-installment of Palat in the lineup -- along with the questionable status of Tyler Johnson (illness) -- makes the Bolts' line arrangements a bit uncertain heading into Friday's game.

Bolts' Palat A Game-Time Decision Friday

News: Ondrej Palat (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Friday's tilt with the Devils, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat is generally expected to play after he turned in a full practice Thursday, but the Lightning will wait and see how he performs during morning skate and pregame warmups Friday before reaching a conclusion on his status for the game. Jonathan Drouin has been the greatest beneficiary of Palat's four-game absence, as he's been seeing more frequent time with Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan on the Bolts' top line.

Lightning's Palat Out Tuesday

News: Ondrej Palat will not play in Tuesday's game against the Flyers, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat will miss his fourth straight game Tuesday, but is reportedly hoping to return Friday or Saturday.

Bolts' Palat (Lower Body) Likely To Sit Saturday

News: Coach Jon Cooper suggested that Ondrej Palat (lower body) would miss Saturday's game against the Capitals, but has a good chance at playing in one or more of the remaining four games on the Bolts' road trip, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: It doesn't sound like Ondrej Palat has resumed practicing since he was a surprising scratch Thursday night, but the team doesn't seem to fear that a long-term absence is in store. The forward-rich Lightning should have more than enough depth to cover for Palat while he eyes a return to the lineup, possibly as soon as Monday in Pittsburgh.

Bolts' Palat Likely Out Thursday

News: Ondrej Palat wasn't on the ice for pregame warmups and will sit out Thursday's game against the Hurricanes with a lower-body injury, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: The Lightning are labeling the second forward as day-to-day. It's not apparent where or when the injury stems from, but it will force Ondrej Palat out of the lineup for the first time in 30 games this season. The winger has eight goals, 19 points and a plus-15 rating.

Bolts' Palat Gets Bolts' Only Goal

News: Ondrej Palat scored the Lightning's only goal in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. He has three goals and one assist in his last four games.
Analysis: His plus-minus (plus-17) is top-five in the league. He's on pace to match his offensive output from last season (59 points), so that makes him a valuable fantasy asset in most formats.

Bolts' Palat Adds Two Points

News: Ondrej Palat picked up a pair of points, including a short-handed goal on an empty net, and finished with a plus-3 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat snapped a four game pointless streak and now sits at six goals and 11 assists. The 23-year-old has had a solid season and sports the fifth best plus-minus rating in the league at plus-14. He should approach his 59 point campaign from a year ago.

Bolts' Palat On Three-Game Streak

News: Ondrej Palat's point streak now stands at three games and four points (one goal, three assists) after he netted his fifth goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat has been a quiet, yet consistent contributor on the fantasy scoreboard and he's also in the league's top-10 in plus-minus. His game is just about complete as it could get -- it's hard to believe he's just in his second year in the league. He's the kind of performer who can deliver terrific returns in head-to-head leagues.

Bolts' Palat Continues To Get Points The Hard Way

News: Ondrej Palat picked up two assists in Monday's win over the Rangers. It was his first multi-point game since Oct. 24.
Analysis: He has quietly put up 14 points and a plus-11 rating in just 19 games this season. Thirteen of those points have come the hard way -- at even strength. And that's impressive given his current 60-point pace.

Bolts' Palat Says He'll Play Saturday

News: Ondrej Palat (lower body) said after the Bolts' optional skate that he would play Saturday against the Islanders, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat was held out of Friday's practice after sustaining a lower-body injury in the third period of Thursday's loss to the Sharks. However, after participating without any restrictions in the morning skate, it looks like the Bolts will clear him to resume his usual duties in the team's top six.

Bolts' Palat A Game-Time Decision Saturday

News: Ondrej Palat suffered a lower-body injury late in Thursday's loss to the Sharks and will be a game-time decision Saturday versus the Islanders.
Analysis: The ailment was bothersome enough to keep Ondrej Palat out of Friday's practice, thus putting the forward on shaky ground to play Saturday. The Bolts figure to have a better idea regarding Palat's condition at morning skate. The 23-year-old ranks fifth on the team with 11 points and has suited up in each of the Bolts' previous 17 games this season.

Bolts' Palat Proving Rookie Season No Fluke

News: Ondrej Palat's assist in Sunday's game gives him 10 points in 15 games this season, including seven in his last nine.
Analysis: He's on a similar pace as last season, so it's clear he's no fluke. His two-way game continues to impress, too -- he's already sitting with a plus-7 rating.

Bolts' Palat Bags Two Points In WIn

News: Ondrej Palat scored his third goal of the season and added an assist in Friday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat now has five points in his last four games, to go with a plus-3 rating. With Jonathan Drouin on the first line and Ryan Callahan (lower body) out with injury, Palat has been playing on the second line with Tyler Johnson. Assuming Drouin sticks on the top line, Palat may lose out on being Stamkos' linemate. Don't worry, though, the 23-year-old has enough skill on his own to come close to duplicating the success of his 23-goal, 59-point season in 2013-14.

Bolts' Palat Assists Stammer In Win

News: Ondrej Palat assisted on both of Steven Stamkos' two goals in Saturday's win over Vancouver.
Analysis: You really can't go wrong with a guy playing on the top line with Stamkos and Ryan Callahan. Ondrej Palat now has a goal and two assists in five games, to go with a plus-2 rating. It will hard for Palat to duplicate the success of his 59-point season in 2013-14, but with Stamkos on his side, anything is possible.

Bolts' Palat Nets First Goal Of Season

News: Ondrej Palat got his first goal of the season in Monday's 7-1 win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: It came when he was shuffled onto a lower line. It's not likely a permanent shuffle, but it was enough to kick start his offense. There should be plenty more where that came from.

Bolts' Palat Back With Stamkos On Top Line

News: Ondrej Palat practiced with Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan on Saturday and Lightning coach Jon Cooper expects the trio to start the season together, reports the Tampa Bay Times. "We've got a group that has some success with him last year, and why wouldn't we go back to that again? At least at the start of the year," said the coach.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat was a finalist for the Calder trophy and was a two-way revelation for the Bolts last year. He can dish the puck and did that well last year when he skated with Stammer late in the year. Palat's star is on the rise -- push him up your draft list. His two-way sensibility should insulate him against a sophomore slump.

Lightning Re-sign Palat

News: Ondrej Palat signed a three-year contract to remain with the Lightning on Monday, the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat made quite the impression during his rookie campaign, recording 23 goals and 59 points in 81 games this season. That production saw Palat named as a finalist for the Calder Trophy, an award annually presented to the NHL's top newcomer. At 23 years old, Palat represents a bright hope for the future and has already returned significant value since being a seventh round pick in the 2011 draft.

Bolts' Palat Gets Nomination For Best Rookie

News: Ondrej Palat has been named one of three finalists for this year's Calder Memorial Trophy, given to the NHL's top rookie.
Analysis: He was a sensation this season, finishing second in rookie scoring with 59 points (81 games) and one goal behind the goal-scoring lead among first-year players with 23. He was nominated alongside fellow Bolt Tyler Johnson and the Av's Nathan MacKinnon.

Tampa's Palat Ends Postseason With Three In Three

News: Ondrej Palat had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's Game 4 loss to Montreal. He finishes his playoff debut with three points, including two goals, in three games.
Analysis: This guy has been the revelation of 2013-14 -- he's just that good. And next season, he should deliver 70 points on a line with Steven Stamkos. Sweet.

Bolts' Palat (Upper Body/Knee): Goal in Return

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body/knee) returned to action Sunday and scored a power-play goal in a 3-2 loss to Montreal. He also laid five hits.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat had an outstanding season and is showing real chemistry with Steven Stamkos. The Bolts may be headed for an early exit, but that doesn't mean you should forget about him. Mark his name down on that little list you keep on the side and be prepared to push him up a couple notches on next season's draft list.

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body) is slated to play Sunday against the Canadiens, TSN's John Lu reports.

Lightning's Palat On The Ice For Warmups

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body) took the ice for warmups prior to Sunday's game against the Canadiens, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat, who missed Friday's game against the Habs, thus appears on track to suit up for Sunday's game, barring any setbacks.

Lightning's Palat (Upper Body/Knee) Skates Sunday

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body/knee) participated in the morning skate on Sunday, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat missed Game 2 after suffering a knee-to-knee collision in Game 1 and has been dealing with an upper body injury as well. The fact that he is skating on Sunday morning bodes well for his availability in Game 3, but there is still no guarantee he will play.

Bolts' Palat (Upper Body): Confident For Sunday

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body) is confident he'll return to action Sunday for Game 3, reports the Tampa Tribune.
Analysis: "I feel good," Ondrej Palat said after Saturday's practice. He wouldn't go so far as to commit to Sunday, but he was clearly buoyed by his workout.

Lightning's Palat A Game-Time Call

News: Ondrej Palat (upper body) is once again a game-time call for Sunday's Game 3 against the Canadiens, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat continues to deal with an injury that kept him out of Friday's Game 2. The team hasn't revealed much information regarding his condition, but he did not skate Friday, so his status remains very much up in the air. Should he sit out, Anrej Sustr could again slide in as his replacement.
