Jets' Scheifele May Skate Soon

News: Mark Scheifele (knee) may resume skating in a few days.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele's activity will depend on what doctors have to say about the progress he's made thus far, but it's still more likely than not he doesn't play anymore this season. He's about four weeks through the six-to-eight-week timetable initially established for him.

Jets' Scheifele Recovering As Expected

News: Coach Paul Maurice said Mark Scheifele (knee) has recovered as anticipated thus far.
Analysis: Maurice was quick to rule out any sort of early return for Mark Scheifele, who is at the one week mark of a six-to-eight week recovery process. Don't expect to see him back until mid-April at the earliest, although it's equally as likely that he misses the rest of the season.

Jets' Scheifele Sprains MCL

News: Mark Scheifele has a sprained MCL and will miss the next 6-8 weeks, Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: The 20-year-old center has played well for the Jets this season, recording 13 goals and 21 assists in 63 games, and producing at a more steady clip following a sluggish start to the season.

Jets' Scheifele Could Miss 6-8 Weeks

News: There are fears that Mark Scheifele suffered an MCL injury Tuesday that could keep him out 6-8 weeks, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: We'll await confirmation of the report -- one way or the other -- from the Jets, but losing the 20-year-old forward for any length of time would be a big blow to the team up front. To date, Mark Scheifele has recorded 13 goals and 21 assists in 63 games in his first full season with the Jets.

Jets' Scheifele (Knee) Exits Game In Second Period

News: Mark Scheifele did not return to the bench for the third period Tuesday against the Islanders after suffering an apparent knee injury, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele took a hit from the Islanders' Calvin de Haan in the second period, and has yet to return to the game. He'll be evaluated after the game, and if he's forced to miss time, Olli Jokinen and Jim Slater would be potential candidates to take his place on the second line.

Jets' Scheifele Returns To Ice Friday

News: After missing Thursday's practice due to a bout with the flu, Mark Scheifele was back on the ice for Friday's session, Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Analysis: Barring a recurrence of the flu-like symptoms, Mark Scheifele should be on the ice when the Jets resume play Thursday vs. the Coyotes. The forward has 13 goals, 21 assists and a plus-9 rating over 60 games for Winnipeg.

Jets' Scheifele Tallies Two Goals In Victory

News: Mark Scheifele found twine twice in the Jets' shootout loss to the Blues on Saturday.
Analysis: After a 12-point January, Schiefele went without a tally in his first three games to kick off February, but ended the skid in impressive fashion Saturday. While he's producing, Mark Scheifele makes more of a decent depth forward in mid-sized formats.

Jets' Scheifele Shines In Loss

News: Mark Scheifele managed a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Nashville.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele also finished with a plus-3 rating in the game and was named the second star of the contest. He was clearly the Jets' best player on Tuesday and is one of the most consistent rookies in the league this year.

Goal, Assist For Jets' Scheifele

News: Mark Scheifele scored a goal, assisted on another and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-2 victory over Calgary.
Analysis: The 20-year-old center has found his way to the scoresheet in four of five games, totaling two goals and six points in that span. He's coming along nicely and is poised to take a great leap forward if he can start producing on the power play, where Mark Scheifele's seen extensive minutes since the new year.

Jet's Scheifele Playing Consistently

News: Mark Scheifele has four points in his last four games going into Thursday's game against Calgary.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele started the year trying to adjust to life in the NHL. It seems he's turned the corner for fantasy owners and should be in starting lineups, especially against a struggling Flames team.

Jets' Scheifele Notches Helper

News: Mark Scheifele contributed an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Schefele now has points in back-to-back games. He's clearly a playmaker, and he's shown it over the past few weeks, as his production has picked up. With his ceiling, he merits a fantasy start in a variety of formats.

Jets' Scheifele Finds Score Sheet Twice In Pittsburgh

News: Mark Scheifele recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele now has four points in his last five games to go with a plus-2 rating. He's taken his game to another level over the last month and its clear he's a future fantasy stud.

Jets' Scheifele Extends Streak To Five

News: Mark Scheifele finished with to assists and an even rating in Friday's 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers.
Analysis: After an incredibly slow start to the season, Mark Scheifele is now the hottest rookie in the NHL. He's playing like a proven play-making veteran right now. Fantasy owners should ride the wave and keep him in the lineup.

Jets' Scheifele Extends Point Streak

News: Mark Scheifele scored the first two goals of the game in the team's 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele now has points in four straight games including three goals, two assists and a plus-2 rating over that stretch. He's also got 10 points in his last 12 games. It is obvious after a rough start to the year that Scheifele is now finding his game. Fantasy owners need to start putting him in the lineup regularly if they are not already.

Jets' Scheifele Nets Winner

News: Mark Scheifele scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's OT win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: It's just his third goal of the season and his 10th point in 31 games. Power players tend to adjust to NHL life on a longer learning curve than other players, so dismiss any thought this year is a sluggish one. He's still prime keeper material.

Jets' Scheifele's Streak Reaches Four

News: Mark Scheifele assisted on Winnipeg's only goal in Friday's loss to Philadelphia, giving him a point in each of the last four games.
Analysis: The highly talented rookie center has been quite active for a team that has lost four of its last five games. Mark Scheifele's season stat line shows nine points over 28 games with a disappointing two goals and several stretches highlighted by poor production. Expect the youngster to show flashes of his considerable talent throughout the season, just in pieces.

Jets' Scheifele Suddenly Contributing

News: Mark Scheifele notched one assist in a 3-2 win over the Islanders on Wednesday.
Analysis: He was a plus-1 in the game and now has points in four straight games. It's nice to see him suddenly catching fire after he started the season in a massive slump. No doubt Mark Scheifele has what it takes to be a future fantasy stud, but he's got a ways to go to prove his consistency.

Jets Scheifele In Massive Slump

News: Mark Scheifele has no points in his last eight games and hasn't scored a goal since netting the first of his career in the Jets' first game of the season.
Analysis: The list of first-round draft picks who did very little in their rookie year and went on to become stars is actually longer than most would expect. Mark Scheifele has the size and hands to play in the big leagues, but it's not turning into success this year. With just five points, Scheifele isn't a fantasy consideration in most non-keeper formats.

Jets' Scheifele Tallies Two Assists

News: Mark Scheifele picked up two assists against the Red Wings on Monday.
Analysis: The 20-year-old Mark Scheifele was the seventh overall pick once upon a time, but he barely played in his first two NHL seasons. More was expected from him this year, but so far he only has five points in 16 games. He hasn't found that form Winnipeg is hoping for just yet.

Jets' Scheifele Ice Cold

News: Mark Scheifele has just one point in his last 11 games but likely won't be demoted any time soon, reports Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele has yet to turn into the stud sleeper fantasy owners hoped they were drafting this year. The Jets don't have a lot of depth at center to call up from the minor leagues, so they'll give Scheifele lots of time to work on things.

Jets' Scheifele Active In Losing Effort

News: Though he didn't register a point in Tuesday's loss, Mark Scheifele had four shots on net and was one of the better Jets on the ice in the loss, the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Mark Scheifele has two points so far this year, but he's getting more ice-time on the power play and on the Jets' second line. A breakout might not be that far in the offing.

Jets' Scheifele Scores In Opener

News: Mark Scheifele skated nearly 18 minutes and scored a goal in Tuesday's season-opening win against the Oilers.
Analysis: On the negative side of things, he won just seven of 18 face-offs. Mark Scheifele had managed just one goal and no assists in 11 NHL games over the last two years, but he averaged very little ice time. His position now as Winnipeg's second-line center may lead to a big breakout in his first full NHL season.

Jets' Scheifele Scoreless In Second Exhibition Game

News: Mark Scheifele finished with a minus-1 and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: After playing with Evander Kane and Olli Jokinen in the Jets' first pre-season contest, Mark Scheifele was moved to a line with James Wright and Michael Frolik on Tuesday. The move is just a tinker for now as coach Claude Noel said he liked the chemistry Scheifele had with Evander Kane and Olli Jokinen in the team's first exhibition game.

Jets Send Scheifele To Juniors

News: The Jets have reassigned Mark Scheifele to the OHL's Barrie Colts, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The 19-year-old Mark Scheifele played in four games with the Jets this season, but he's obviously better served enjoying extensive duty in junior hockey as opposed to seeing limited action -- or being a healthy scratch -- with the big club.

Jets' Scheifele Scratched Friday

News: Mark Scheifele will not play Friday against the Penguins, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: The 19-year-old center has averaged close to 10 minutes in his three games so far this season, but Mark Scheifele will be a healthy scratch Friday.
