News: The Islanders reassigned Ryan Strome to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Monday.
Analysis:Ryan Strome played in 53 games this season for the Niagara IceDogs and led the team with 94 points (34 goals, 60 assists). The 2011 first round pick will be looking to make his AHL debut sometime in the near future.
News:Ryan Strome was sent down to Junior by the Islanders on Thursday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis:Ryan Strome has a closet full of talent but will likely have to wait until next season to display it in the NHL. The Islanders need all the scoring help they can muster but also realize that it may not be wise to start Strome's rookie contract in a shortened season in which the Isles are not expected to be all the competitive. Strome however is someone to think about in long term keeper leagues or dynasty drafts.
News:Ryan Strome will attend training camp with the Islanders, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: The big question is whether or not Ryan Strome will stick with the team during the regular season. Strome has a ton of talent/potential and is a highlight reel in junior. Can he translate that talent to the NHL. Probably, but the bigger question could be what the new rules will be in the CBA. Can the Islanders send him back to junior after a nine game tryout? That question has yet to be answered. If the answer is yes, than Strome is likely to get that tryout, if not, then it could be see you next season for the young playmaker.
