Isles' Strome Assists In Win

News: Ryan Strome gathered an assist in Saturday's Game 6 win over the Capitals.
Analysis: After kicking off the postseason with goals in the first two games of the series, Ryan Strome had been held off the score sheet for three contests in a row before breaking through again Saturday. He was skating on the top line Saturday, a role that could prove fruitful again in Game 7 next to a sizzling John Tavares.

Isles' Strome Picks Up Goal To Extend Streak

News: Ryan Strome delivered his 17th goal of the season Thursday in a losing effort to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The Islanders have four games left on the regular-season schedule and Ryan Strome is doing his best to finish strong, having picked up points in each of the last four contests. While the young Canadian entered the 2014-15 campaign as a fantasy sleeper in a number of league formats, Strome should have a much higher price tag next year given that he's one point shy of 50 in his first full season.

Isles' Strome Has Three-Game Streak

News: Ryan Strome tallied a goal on one of his three shot attempts Sunday against the Red Wings.
Analysis: The goal allowed Ryan Strome to extend his point streak to three games. He's responded well to the healthy scratch he received back on March 14, collecting two goals and three helpers in his six games since.

Strome Nets Winner In Isles Win Over Devils

News: Ryan Strome, who was a healthy scratch one week ago, scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Devils.
Analysis: The scratch was used to light a fire under the guy -- after all, he does have 45 points in 72 games in his sophomore year. He's going to be a top-six stalwart in a few short years. So, if he can't help you in a single-year format, you should be targeting him in all keeper leagues. This team is on the way up.

Isles To Scratch Strome On Saturday

News: Ryan Strome will be a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Canadiens.
Analysis: It's the first time that Ryan Strome has been scratched all season, as the 21-year-old has otherwise been an effective depth forward for the Islanders, potting 14 goals and dishing out 29 assists over 70 games. However, his production has been much more muted of late, with only nine points on his ledger since the beginning of February. Coach Jack Capuano probably will only give him a breather for Saturday's game, as Strome is expected to make his return to the lineup Tuesday in Chicago.

Isles' Strome Records PPG In Win

News: Ryan Strome netted a power-play goal in Friday's win over the Flames.
Analysis: Ryan Strome has scored twice in his last three games, giving him 14 goals, 40 points and a plus-21 rating in 63 games on the season. The 21-year-old is worth looking at, as he's skating on the second line, seeing power-play time and firing tons of pucks on net. He's a stud.

Isles' Strome Nets Two Goals In Loss

News: Ryan Strome netted two goals and finished with a plus-2 rating in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Ryan Strome had been off the scoresheet entirely for eight straight, but he's since rebounded with three goals in his last two games. Still, his production has slowed down since the beginning of the season, and with 37 points in 57 games, the 21-year-old may better serve fantasy owners in deeper leagues than those in standard formats.

Isles' Strome Notches 10th In Victory

News: Ryan Strome deposited a rebound into the net for his 10th goal of the season in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The second-period goal helped Ryan Strome end a season-long eight-game streak without a point. Both Strome and fellow early-season surprise Brock Nelson seem to be hitting a wall, a development that's certainly not unique for young forwards with limited NHL service time. The outlook remains bright for Strome in dynasty formats, but those in season-long leagues will want to keep the 21-year-old on their bench right now, if not drop him outright.

Isles' Strome: Points In Three Straight

News: Ryan Strome earned an assist in Monday's 7-4 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: While he wasn't one of the more notable performers in the Isles' offensive onslaught, Ryan Strome was at least able to extend his point streak to three games. With 33 points and a plus-16 rating over 46 games, Strome seems to be justifying the expectations the Islanders placed on him after drafting him fifth overall in 2011.

Isles' Strome Delivers Two Helpers

News: Ryan Strome delivered two assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over Columbus. He now has nine points, including eight assists, in his last seven games.
Analysis: But as with most young players, Ryan Strome tends to put up points in bunches with three and four-game stretches in between. That makes him a little more valuable in straight points leagues than in head-to-head, at least for now.

Isles' Strome Picks Up Four Points Wednesday

News: Ryan Strome racked up a goal and three assists in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: The 21-year-old center is quickly becoming a highly productive fantasy player, and should be a coveted asset in keeper leagues. His four points Wednesday gave him six in his last two games, and totals of seven goals and 20 assists through 37 games on the season.

Strome's Two Helpers Key To Isles' Win

News: Ryan Strome helped out on Anders Lee's game-opening goal and Johnny Boychuk's game-winner in overtime Monday against the Capitals.
Analysis: He'd gone four straight without a point, so it's good to see Ryan Strome find some success on the offensive end. Unfortunately, he's also without a goal in the last nine games. While Strome still represents a legitimate upside play for fantasy purposes, the fact that he's actually taking fewer shots on goal than he did last year is not terribly reassuring.

Isles' Strome: Three Points In Last Eight

News: Ryan Strome picked up his 14th assist of the season in Saturday's win over the Blackhawks. He finished plus-2.
Analysis: He had been demoted to the fourth line, ostensibly to improve his play on the defensive side of the puck. So the plus-2 finish is nice to see. He has already surpassed his output from last season and is on pace -- should he get pushed back up to a scoring line -- for a mid-50s finish. This guy's future is bright. But his "right now" is a bit sketchy -- three points in eight games will do that for a guy. Keep him benched until he moves back up the lineup.

Isles' Strome To Center Fourth Line

News: Ryan Strome will center the fourth line for the immediate future, according to Newsday.
Analysis: Ryan Strome has been having a breakout season so demoting him to the fourth line is a curious move by the Islanders. You would think they would want to nurture their top prospects, not put them on a checking line. Capuano is trying to paint it as a solid move, stating that "Strome can play with anyone" but having Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin as your wings will certainly stifle anyone's offensive creativity.

Isles' Strome Adds Two Assists Wednesday

News: Ryan Strome picked up two assists in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.
Analysis: The 21-year-old center was the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, and looks like he could be a productive player for years to come. This is his first full season in the NHL, and his four goals and 13 assists through 22 games are certainly impressive.

Isles' Strome Continues To Roll

News: Ryan Strome potted another goal and added a pair of assists while skating to a plus-2 rating in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over the Penguins.
Analysis: That's four goals and seven points in the last five games for Ryan Strome, who is clearly enjoying life centering a line between Anders Lee and Josh Bailey. The Islanders have a surprisingly deep -- and fluid -- top-nine forward corps, so look for Strome to ascend the depth chart both at even strength and on the power play if he continues to pile up points.

Isles' Strome Finding Net With More Regularity

News: Ryan Strome netted the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Bolts.
Analysis: After playing a setup role for his teammates for most of the first few weeks of the season, Ryan Strome has been looking for his own shot more frequently of late, and he's getting results. Strome, who went without a goal in his first 14 games of the season, now has found the net three times in the last four contests.

Strome Gets Two Points For Isles

News: Ryan Strome scored his first goal of the year and added his ninth assist in Tuesday's 6-0 rout of the Avalanche.
Analysis: Ryan Strome's known more for his passing than his shooting, but he set a season high with four shots on goal Tuesday. Despite his lack of shooting prowess early on this year, he's got 10 points in 15 games -- a pretty respectable pace for a 21-year-old, and he's certainly got upside from there.

Assists Piling Up For Islanders' Strome

News: Ryan Strome assisted on Brock Nelson's second-period goal in Saturday's win over the Stars.
Analysis: Nelson's early-season breakout has captured most of the headlines with regards to the Isles' potent offensive play, but Ryan Strome has played a critical supporting role in those successes. In addition to assisting on two of his linemate's five goals, Strome has set up five more Islander scores this season, putting him at close to point-per-game level of production. Strome is still searching for his first goal, but his work as a distributor has quelled any doubts about his readiness for a consistent NHL role.

Isles' Strome Showing Playmaking Skills

News: Ryan Strome dished out two assists in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.
Analysis: That's four helpers in three games for Ryan Strome, who's clicking well on the second line with Mikhail Grabovski and Brock Nelson. He's got elite playmaking skills, as evidenced by the 36 assists he dished out in 37 games for AHL Bridgeport last season. However, we'd like to see Strome put some more shots on goal (he's got just seven so far) to add some balance to his point total.

Isles' Strome Tallies Two Helpers In Friday's Win

News: Ryan Strome racked up a pair of assists in Friday's season-opening win over Carolina.
Analysis: Ryan Strome looked good on the second line Friday, finding chemistry with Mikhail Grabovski and rookie Brock Nelson, who had a game-high four points. Strome finished the night a plus-2, recording two shots on goal in 12:11 of ice time. While the 21-year-old center isn't a part of the Isles' top power-play unit, he is counted on as one of the key contributors to the second unit. Strome is destined to improve on the 18 points he recorded in his first NHL season in 2013-14. Twenty goals aren't out of the question, especially if this second line continues to mesh.

Isles' Strome Makes Roster

News: Ryan Strome has made the Islanders' Opening Night roster.
Analysis: Though a natural center, Ryan Strome looks set to open the season at right wing, due to the Islanders' overabundance of talent down the middle. He's expected to play on the second line with Brock Nelson and Mikhail Grabovski, while also seeing time on the Islanders' second power-play unit. The former No. 5 overall pick may be worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues.

Isles' Strome Could Start Season In The AHL

News: Ryan Strome could begin the season in the AHL, according to Newsday.
Analysis: The reason for this has nothing to do with Ryan Strome's play but he could be caught in a numbers game as the Isles are deep at forward but only Strome and Anders Lee can be sent to the AHL without passing through waivers. Now a trade is always a possibility also. The Isles could always move a forward to a team (Boston, Chicago) that is having salary cap problems and may want to deal a defenseman. Strome could also end up on the top line with John Tavares and Kyle Okposo. Islanders training camp should be an interesting one.

Isles' Strome Plays Wing

News: Ryan Strome played wing versus the Canadiens on Thursday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: While on its own this position change is not all that important, it could show that the Islanders are willing to move Ryan Strome to wing next season in order to get him on one of the top two lines. As it stands now, the Isles' top two centers are John Tavares and Frans Nielsen, and Strome can better reach his potential by playing with talented forwards.

Isles' Strome Scores In Second Straight

News: Ryan Strome scored one of the Islanders' two goals in Friday's win over New Jersey and also registered the winning shootout goal.
Analysis: Ryan Strome scored against Montreal on Thursday and again Friday against New Jersey, a power-play marker. He's still more potential than production at this point of his career, but he's one to keep an eye on next season.
