Sens' Zibanejad Dishes Out Two Assists In Game 5

News: Mika Zibanejad contributed a pair of helpers in Friday's Game 5 win over Montreal.
Analysis: It was the second multi-point outing of the playoffs for Mika Zibanejad, who has collected four points in five games. Trailing the Canadiens 3-2 in their first-round series, the Senators will be looking to Zibanejad's line of Bobby Ryan and Milan Michalek to have another strong showing in Sunday's Game 6 in Ottawa. With Ryan snapping a 16-game goalless drought Friday, Zibanejad's production could increase by association if Ryan is able to parlay the effort into something more.

Sens' Zibanejad Sets Up Goal In Win

News: Mika Zibanejad notched an assist in Tuesday's overtime win over the Penguins.
Analysis: After collecting a pair of power-play points over the weekend against the Capitals, Mika Zibanejad stayed involved Tuesday night, setting up Mike Hoffman's game-tying goal with less than two minutes remaining. The 21-year-old seems to have found his niche on the Sens' second line, where he's produced 20 goals and 46 points over 78 games this season.

Sens' Zibanejad Still Adding To Career Season

Analysis: Mika Zibanejad, a forward in his third year, naturally keeps improving with more experience under his belt. He has used this season to establish career bests in goals (17) and assists (23). Zibanejad is not someone you will want to forget in next year's fantasy drafts.

Sens' Zibanejad Points In Third Straight

News: Mika Zibanejad was credited with an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: The power-play helper brings Mika Zibanejad's point streak to three games, the second such streak he's compiled in February. In the process of picking up the assist, Zibanejad tied last season's career-high total of 33 points, requiring 11 fewer games to do so.

Sens' Zibanejad Dishes Out Two Assists

News: Mika Zibanejad registered a pair of helpers and finished with a plus-2 rating in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad is getting back on a roll after four games off the scoresheet as he's rattled off four points in his last three games. He's just three points shy of his career-high mark of 33 points from last season, and should easily set a new best in both goals and assists.

Sens' Zibanejad Claims Assist In Win

News: Mika Zibanejad claimed an assist and earned two PIM in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: After opening February without a point in his first four games, Mika Zibanejad has recorded a goal and assist in back-to-back contests. The 21-year-old has been prone to inconsistency this season, but is still on track to surpass his production from 2013-14. It once appeared that Zibanejad was encroaching on Kyle Turris' territory as the Sens' No. 1 center, but Turris has since solidified himself in that role by improving his offensive output over the last several contests.

Sens' Zibanejad Stays Hot With Two More Points

News: Mika Zibanejad picked up an assist and provided the final goal of the game in a 7-2 win over the Coyotes on Saturday.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad has found the net in three straight games and has pointed in four straight, attempting 12 shots during that span. The young center has always been lauded for his talent, and it seems like he's really starting to settle in to his destiny as a long-term fixture in the Sens' top six.

Sens' Zibanejad Ignites Comeback Bid Thursday

News: Mika Zibanejad registered a goal on his five shot attempts over 17:47 of ice time in Thursday's loss to the Stars.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad's 12th goal of the season helped the Senators crawl out of a 3-0 hole, setting off a string of three unanswered goals. Playing alongside Bobby Ryan has put Zibanejad's production on the upswing of late, as he's notched three goals and an assist over his last five games.

Sens' Zibanejad Gets Assist

News: Mika Zibanejad picked up an assist, attempted five shots and won seven of 20 faceoffs in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad has cooled off since the early half of December, but has remained productive enough to earn over 17 minutes of ice time in each of the last four games. The 21-year-old doesn't seem to be in danger of losing out on the second-line center job, but he'll need to deliver points with a little more frequency to warrant more ownership in shallower formats.

Sens' Zibanejad Assists Twice In Victory

News: Mika Zibanejad gathered two assists in Saturday's 5-1 triumph over the Coyotes.
Analysis: The 21-year-old had turned in nothing but blank marks in the scoring column in his four January games prior to Saturday's contest. As is to be expected with a youthful forward, Mika Zibanejad's production has noticed some crests and troughs this season, making him a usable option primarily only when he's running hot.

Zibanejad Helps Sens Past Ducks

News: Mika Zibanejad scored his ninth goal of the season, had an assist, was credited with four shots on goal, and was a plus-3 in Friday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: An all-around great fantasy night for Mika Zibanejad, who now has 17 points in 30 games on the season. After a slow start, Zibanejad has heated up, recording six goals and 11 points in his last nine games. Skating on the second line with Bobby Ryan, the 21-year-old could hit the 25-goal mark in 2014-15, making him worthy of a look right now.

Sens' Zibanejad Nets Eighth Goal

News: Mika Zibanejad notched his eighth goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Bruins.
Analysis: On the heels of a four-point outburst last Sunday against the Canucks, Mika Zibanejad has settled in quite nicely under new coach Dave Cameron. Though he only fired off one shot attempt Saturday, he fired off a season-high seven in a loss to the Kings earlier in the week and appears primed to factor in prominently in the Sens' plans the rest of the season. That's a significant upgrade from where he was a little over a month and a half ago, when he finished October with one point and 14 shots over nine games.

Sens' Zibanejad Torches Canucks Sunday

News: Mika Zibanejad torched the Canucks on Sunday, scoring twice and adding two assists in a 4-3 win.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad has been red-hot lately, scoring in three straight games and recording seven points in his last four games. The 21-year-old now has 13 points (seven goals) in 23 games, putting him on track for the first 20-goal season of his NHL career. The second-line center is worth a look right now, at least until his hot streak comes to an end.

Zibanejad Scores Sens' Lone Goal Thursday

News: Mika Zibanejad scored a power-play goal to account for the entirety of the Ottawa offense Thursday in a loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: It's his second straight game with a point, but overall Mika Zibanejad has seen a serious decline from last season's production despite seeing more than a minute of additional ice time per game. On the bright side, Thursday was the first time Zibanejad won more faceoffs (nine) than he lost (six) since way back on Oct. 26 against Chicago.

Sens Scratch Zibanejad On Tuesday

News: Mika Zibanejad wasn't on the ice for pregame warmups and will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Blues, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: The Senators have dropped six of their last eight games, and coach Paul MacLean seems inclined to shake up his lineup with the hope of generating more positive results. The timing of Mika Zibanejad's assignment to the press box is a bit odd, as such a lineup decision probably should have happened early in the season, when the forward failed to score a point and attempted just nine shots on goal over his first eight games. Milan Michalek will also serve as a healthy scratch Tuesday, with both Colin Greening and Erik Condra entering the lineup.

Sens' Zibanejad Showing Signs Of Life

News: Mika Zibanejad scored his third goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the visiting Blues. He now has three points in the last four games.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad had doubled his point total from three to six on the season over the last four contests, indicating that perhaps he's ready to turn the corner. At the very least, the recent production should help him ascend Ottawa's depth chart from his current spot on the team's fourth line.

Sens' Zibanejad: Second Consecutive Game With Goal

News: Mika Zibanejad scored a goal in his second consecutive game in Saturday's loss to Boston.

Sens' Zibanejad Finally Gets Point

News: Mika Zibanejad collected his first point of the season Thursday against the Blackhawks, finding the net for the game-tying tally late in the third period.
Analysis: It was by far Mika Zibanejad's most productive outing to date, as he attempted a season-high five shots and contributed three hits defensively. The 21-year-old has been a huge disappointment with the lone point in nine games, but the increased shot attempts Thursday provide a glimmer of hope that he may break out of his season-long slumber.

Sens' Zibanejad Looking Lost Early On

News: Mika Zibanejad has failed to record a point and has a minus-3 rating through eight games.
Analysis: It would be disappointing enough if Mika Zibanejad was simply a victim of some bad puck luck offensively, but it's even more worrisome that he's barely shooting at all. Zibanejad has just nine attempts on the season, with the young center looking extremely tentative and lacking in confidence on one of the tries he had from point-blank range Tuesday night. Despite his non-existent scoring, the 21-year-old has yet to notice a drop in minutes, but the Senators' patience could wear thin if his tepid play continues for much longer.

News: Mika Zibanejad will not play in the Senators' final two games due to an unspecified injury or health issue, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad left Thursday's game and was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons, but the Senators have not provided any other updates outside of ruling him out for the weekend.

Sens' Zibanejad Taken To Hospital

News: Mika Zibanejad left Thursday's game and was taken to the hospital for what coach Paul MacLean called "precautionary reasons", Senators Extra reports.
Analysis: With just two games remaining and the playoffs no longer a possibility, the Sens will likely take a cautious approach with Mika Zibanejad's injury/illness, whatever it may be.

Zibanejad Busy In Sens' Loss

News: Mika Zibanejad grabbed a goal and an assist in Friday's 7-4 loss to Montreal. The goal was his second in the last three games he's played.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad skipped Tuesday's game against Florida but did return on Wednesday against the Islanders. He's shown the ability to play alongside newly acquired winger Ales Hemsky and will be a large part of Ottawa's future. He's worth a look in deeper leagues in the season's final week, just don't expect huge numbers.
