Panthers Ship Hayes To Boston

News: Jimmy Hayes was traded to the Bruins on Wednesday in exchange for forward Reilly Smith and the contract of Marc Savard, ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reports.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes is a restricted free agent, meaning the Bruins will need to negotiate a new contract with him in order to retain his services for the coming season. The team shouldn't have too much difficulty agreeing to terms with the 25-year-old, a local boy who played three seasons at Boston College. Hayes demonstrated some prowess has a goal scorer last season with Florida, finding twine 19 times in 72 games. He could provide a direct replacement for Reilly Smith on one of the Bruins' top two lines.

Panthers' Hayes Scores In Win Thursday

News: Jimmy Hayes scored a third period goal in the Panthers' 4-2 victory over the Bruins on Thursday.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes scored his 19th goal of the season, which has expanded his career mark considerably. The big bodied winger should continue to improve as the 25-year-old has made immense strides this year in the scoring department and has established himself as a key piece of the Panthers' power play as well, scoring 11 points (four goals and seven assists).

Panthers' Hayes Active In Win

News: Jimmy Hayes led the Panthers with five shots on goal and dished out two assists while going plus-2 Thursday in a 6-1 shellacking of Carolina.
Analysis: That's points in consecutive games now for Jimmy Hayes, who'd missed the scoresheet in six of seven previously. The 25-year-old's current point-every-other-game pace is fairly reflective of what fantasy owners can expect from him moving forward.

Panthers' Hayes Gets First Goal In 15 Games

News: Jimmy Hayes scored his first goal in 15 games in Saturday night's 2-1 shootout win over Boston.
Analysis: It's his 18th of the season, but he's been mired in a massive funk of late. Fingers crossed this means he's back on track. We're hopeful, but realistic, too -- we're not re-activating him until he proves he's worthy.

Panthers' Hayes To Be Scratched Thursday

News: Jimmy Hayes will be scratched for Thursday night's game against the Red Wings, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes is second on the team with 17 goals, but has just one point in his last six games and hasn't scored a goal since Feb. 17, with a minus-7 rating since then. Hayes' fantasy value takes a severe hit if he's not in the lineup, but he likely won't be a fixture in the press box.

Panthers' Hayes Assists Twice In Loss

News: Jimmy Hayes handed out two assists in Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: The two helpers allowed Jimmy Hayes to snap a seven-game run without a point, matching his longest drought of the season. Despite the slump, Hayes is still regarded as one of the Panthers' most effective finishers at the net. His 17 goals on the campaign trail rank him second on the team behind Nick Bjugstad (22).

Panthers' Hayes Scores In Win Over Maple Leafs

News: Jimmy Hayes scored his 17th goal of the season in the Panthers' 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes is second on the team in goals despite missing nine games this season. His presence on the power-play makes him an intriguing prospect in deeper leagues, but the Panthers' difficulty scoring hinders his value.

Panthers' Hayes Tallies Two Points On Power Play

News: Jimmy Hayes scored a goal and added an assist -- both on the man advantage -- in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes' recent string of production continues, as he has three goals and two helpers in the last four games. He's of some interest in deeper fantasy formats, though he's not likely to develop into a consistent source of offense in the short term.

Hayes' Two Goals Lead Panthers To Win

News: Jimmy Hayes scored the Panthers' first goal, then notched the game-winner on a third-period power play Tuesday against the Islanders.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes entered the game without a point in seven straight, but took advantage of his 15:14 of ice time in this one to deliver strong production. With 15 goals in 40 games this year, he's on the equivalent of a 30-goal pace.

Florida To Scratch Hayes On Saturday

News: Jimmy Hayes will be a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Devils, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: With a respectable 13 goals in 38 games this season, Jimmy Hayes has occasionally shown a nose for the net for the Panthers, but not frequently enough lately. He's been absent from the score sheet for the last six games, despite putting up 17 shot attempts during that stretch. Tomas Fleischmann draws into Saturday's lineup in his stead.

Panthers' Hayes Pots Goal In Win

News: Jimmy Hayes scored a goal and finished with a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes has now scored in consecutive games as he continues to heat up with six goals in his last nine contests. The 25-year-old has already set a career-high with his 13 goals and 20 points, and is on pace to end up around the 40-point mark for the season.

Panthers' Hayes Bags Goal In Loss

News: Jimmy Hayes tallied a goal and laid seven hits in Wednesday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes has assumed a role on the Panthers' second line of late and has been one of the team's top finishers. He's scored four times in his last four games, which should keep his spot in the lineup secure for the time being.

Panthers' Hayes Pots Two

News: Jimmy Hayes potted two goals in Monday's 4-3 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes had been struggling of late which led to being a healthy scratch on Saturday, but he could continue to earn back trust with Monday's performance which also featured five shots and a plus-3 rating to go along with the two goals. The 25-year-old now has nine goals in 24 contests and Monday's effort could signal the end to his recent slump.

Panthers' Hayes to Sit Out Saturday

News: Jimmy Hayes will be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Penguins, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Coach Gerard Gallant wants to get youngster Vincent Trocheck in the lineup in his hometown of Pittsburgh, so Jimmy Hayes will head to the press box in order to facilitate the change. Hayes has mustered one goal and no assists in the seven games since his two-point showing Dec. 2 against the Red Wings.

Panthers' Hayes Has Multi-Point Night

News: Jimmy Hayes supplied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 win over Detroit.
Analysis: This was Jimmy Hayes' third multi-point night this season, and he went plus-2 in only 14:35 minutes of ice time. Hayes continues to be one of Florida's top point producers and now has 12 points (6G, 6A) in 16 games. He has been a very effective player this season, playing just over 13 minutes a game he is tied for second on the team in points and leads the team in shooting percentage with a 14.6%.

Hayes Scores Game-Winner In Florida's Win

News: Jimmy Hayes returned to the lineup for Friday's game against the Senators and made an immediate impact by scoring the game-winning goal.
Analysis: After being a healthy scratch from Wednesday's game, Jimmy Hayes was inserted back into the lineup and he proved why he should remain there. Hayes also provided two PIM, two hits, and three shots on goal. Expect him to stay in the lineup.

Panthers To Drop Hayes From Lineup

News: Jimmy Hayes will be a healthy scratch Wednesday versus the Hurricanes, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes has made it difficult to justify his removal from the lineup by producing four goals and five assists over 11 games, but it appears coach Gerard Gallant wants to get Tomas Fleischmann some work after he was scratched Monday. Don't expect the scoring-starved Panthers to keep Hayes in the press box for too long while he remains hot.

Panthers' Hayes Scores Two Points In Loss

News: Jimmy Hayes scored a power play goal and added an assist in a 5-2 loss to the Kings on Tuesday.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes now has eight points in 10 games this season while supporting a plus-5 rating. Hayes has been outstanding this season for the Panthers and is well on his way to a new career high in points, passing his old total of 18 in 2013-2014. Hayes has also found himself playing on the second power play unit and played 3:20 of power play time during Tuesday's contest which was his season high. The 24-year-old was a second round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft so there should be no surprise he has top end talent, it has just taken him some time to arrive to the show. He is still available on the waiver wire, so grab him while you can.

Panthers' Hayes Delivers Two Points In 4-3 Loss

News: Jimmy Hayes scored a goal and added an assist with five shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders Friday.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes has had an amazing month of November so far, scoring six points (3G,3A) in six games. He has also supported a plus-5 rating while only playing around 13 minutes a night throughout that span. Chances are he is available in all league formats, so pick him up if you are looking to replace an injured forward and let the hot streak ride itself out.

Florida's Hayes Collects Assist In Loss

News: Jimmy Hayes collected an assist on the power play against the Flyers on Thursday.
Analysis: The former second-round pick from 2008 has had a difficult time being a NHL regular during his career. Following a trade from Chicago last season, Jimmy Hayes played 53 games with Florida, totaling 18 points. Thursday was Hayes' fifth game of the season, and he started the night on the second line with Nick Bjugstad and Scottie Upshall. He has seen an increase in playing time and opportunity thanks to how many regulars have been out of the Panthers lineup due to injuries. Hayes should be considered a short-term play while Florida continues to get some healthy players back.

Panthers' Hayes Assists In Return To Lineup

News: Jimmy Hayes gathered an assist in Saturday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Saturday's game marked Jimmy Hayes' third appearance of the season, as he's typically been a healthy scratch for the Panthers. He was able to work his way back into the lineup against the Flyers after an assortment of injuries compromised the team's depth. While Hayes could maintain a regular role in the short-term while the Panthers wait for some healthy players to return, he only saw bottom-six minutes in Saturday's victory, making it unlikely that he provides points with much frequency.

Panthers' Hayes Promoted To The Top Line

News: Jimmy Hayes was moved to the top line in practice on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: After sitting out the first two games of the season as a healthy scratch, Jimmy Hayes got in the lineup against Ottawa on Monday. He put four shots on goal in only 8:33 minutes of ice time. He will have a great opportunity to put up some points if he sticks with the first line for their upcoming tilt with the Sabres on Friday.

Panthers Retain Hayes On One-Year Deal

News: Jimmy Hayes has agreed to a one-year contract with the Panthers.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes joined the Panthers after being dealt by the Blackhawks on Nov. 14 of last year. He played 53 games in a Florida jersey, during which he totaled 11 goals and seven assists.

Panthers' Hayes Nets Two Goals

News: Jimmy Hayes scored two power-play goals Sunday against the Canucks.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes is having the best stretch of his career. He's notched six of his 13 points in his last five games. However, if he's getting power-play time, there may actually be a smidge of fantasy value here.

Panthers' Hayes Scores Twice

News: Jimmy Hayes lit the lamp twice Sunday against the Bruins.
Analysis: Jimmy Hayes has set a career high in goals, and tied his career high in points. However, all that took was seven goals and nine points, so he's not likely to contribute to any fantasy team.
