Devils' Kinkaid In Net Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid will draw the start in goal Saturday against the Hurricanes, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: With the Devils holding no aspirations of reaching the postseason at this point, oft-used starting goalie Cory Schneider will be rested for at least one half of the team's weekend back-to-back set, paving the way for Keith Kinkaid to make his 16th appearance of the season. He's acquitted himself well in spot duty this season, posting a 5-4-3 record, 2.42 GAA, and .919 save percentage. With the Hurricanes possessing one of the league's least-effective attacks, Kinkaid make for a decent streaming option Saturday.

Devils' Kinkaid Makes 28 Saves In Win

News: Keith Kinkaid stopped 28 of 29 shots in Friday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: A solid outing for Keith Kinkaid, who will give way to Cory Schneider for Saturday's game against the Islanders. Kinkaid has allowed two goals or less in four straight appearances, advancing his record to 5-4-3 on the season. He doesn't see much action behind the workhorse Schneider, but when he does get the call, the 25-year-old is proving to be a reliable spot start.

New Jersey Goes With Kinkaid On Friday

News: Keith Kinkaid will start Friday's game against the Sabres.
Analysis: With Keith Kinkaid slated to start Friday, Cory Schneider will get the nod for New Jersey on Saturday against the Islanders. Kinkaid thus looks like a solid play in daily formats Friday, though the last-place Sabres haven't been pushovers of late, earning a 2-1 shootout win over the Bruins on Tuesday and dropping one to the Caps (4-3) on Monday.

New Jersey Goes With Kinkaid On Sunday

News: Keith Kinkaid is slated to start Sunday's game against the Flyers, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid, who last saw action on Feb. 21, will thus give Cory Schneider -- who has started 56 games to date -- a rare breather Sunday against a Flyers squad that fell to the Bruins 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.

Devils' Kinkaid Stops 25 In Win

News: Keith Kinkaid stopped 25 of 27 shots in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid turned in a solid outing as he improved to 4-4-3 with a 2.54 GAA and .916 save percentage. The 25-year-old won't get too many starts with Cory Schneider getting the nod almost every night, but he's proven to be a serviceable backup when he is called on.

New Jersey's Kinkaid Back In Action

News: Keith Kinkaid (groin) indicated Monday that he's "all better" in advance of Tuesday's game against the Preds, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: With Keith Kinkaid now poised to back up Cory Schneider on Tuesday, fellow goalie Scott Clemmensen is headed back to AHL Albany.

Devils' Kinkaid To Remain Out Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid (groin) will remain unavailable for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid has resumed skating since suffering the injury last weekend, but he's still not quite healthy enough to serve as the backup to Cory Schneider. Instead, Scott Clemmensen will stick around a little longer as the Devils' No. 2 goalie.

Devils' Kinkaid Won't Back Up Schneider On Friday

News: Keith Kinkaid (groin) will not be available to serve as the Devils' backup goalie Friday against the Bruins, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid relayed that he was about "95 percent" recovered from his groin injury, but the Devils don't want to take any chances by having him serve as the understudy to Cory Schneider. On a positive note, Kinkaid will take part in the team's gameday skate, and if all goes well, he could be ready to go for Saturday's tilt with the Blue Jackets, though Schneider seems likely to start that game as well.

Devils' Kinkaid Practices Thursday

News: Keith Kinkaid tested out his injured groin on the ice for about 20 minutes Thursday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: After he was off the ice for the previous two days, Keith Kinkaid indicated he felt good after Thursday's session. The Devils plan to have him skate again Friday morning, but it hasn't been determined if he'll be available to back up Cory Schneider for the game later that evening against the Bruins.

Devils' Kinkaid Won't Be Available Wednesday

News: Keith Kinkaid (groin) will not be available for Wednesday's game against the Flames, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid was unable to skate Wednesday morning, so the Devils will turn to Scott Clemmensen as the backup behind Cory Schneider for the contest. General manager Lou Lamoriello said Kinkaid would likely try to skate Thursday, so for the moment, it would seem a long-term absence isn't on the table for the goalie.

Devils' Kinkaid (Groin) Skips Monday Practice

News: Keith Kinkaid (groin) was on the ice before practice Monday but left early, with goalie coach Chris Terreri taking his spot in practice, Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid's absence from practice likely indicates he will be unavailable for Monday's game against the Coyotes, and that the Devils will need to call up a backup goaltender. The fact that he was on the ice testing his leg before practice likely means the issue isn't major, and an MRI confirmed no overall damage. However, the issue forced him out of Saturday's contest and will cost him Monday as well.

Devils' Kinkaid Leaves With Groin Injury

News: Keith Kinkaid appeared to injure his groin in Saturday's game and was replaced by Cory Schneider midway through the second period, the Star-Ledger's Rich Chere reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid had a shutout going with 17 saves, so this was definitely a bummer. He should be considered day-to-day for now.

Devils' Kinkaid Will Start Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid will get the start in net Saturday against the Hurricanes, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: The Devils will opt to give their number one goaltender, Cory Schneider, a rest on Saturday against the Hurricanes. Keith Kinkaid is 2-4-3 with a 2.76 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 11 games with the Devils this season. He does, however, have a nice matchup on Saturday, as he takes on a Carolina squad that averages 2.19 goals scored per game, good for 27th best in the NHL.

Devils' Kinkaid: 38 Saves In Loss

News: Keith Kinkaid made 38 saves in Saturday's loss to Montreal.
Analysis: He doesn't get many starts and the Devils are best described as a below-average squad. There's limited value in a back-up twinetender in that situation.

Devils' Kinkaid To Start Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid will get the start in net against Montreal on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid will get the start in the second of back-to-back games for the Devils on Saturday against the Canadiens. Kinkaid is 2-3-3 on the season with a .919 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA.

Devils' Kinkaid Makes 26 Saves In Win

News: Keith Kinkaid stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday's win over the Panthers.
Analysis: It was Keith Kinkaid's first win in four games, as the backup is now 2-3-3 on the season with a .919 save percentage and 2.34 GAA. Cory Schneider is the man in New Jersey, but when he does get that rare night off, Kinkaid is a decent spot start.

Devils' Kinkaid To Start Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid will start against the Panthers on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider received the nod Friday night against Pittsburgh, backstopping the club to an overtime loss. Keith Kinkaid has played well when called upon this season, going 13-7-2 with a 2.19 GAA and .923 save percentage.

Devils' Kinkaid Likely To Start Saturday

News: Keith Kinkaid will likely start Saturday's game against the Panthers, as the Devils will be playing the second game of a back-to-back, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider will be between the pipes Friday night against the Penguins, and while it's still possible that Schneider gets both starts, the Devils will likely give the nod to Keith Kinkaid on Saturday for the easier of the two matchups.

Devils' Kinkaid Subpar In Relief

News: Keith Kinkaid was lit up for four goals on 25 shots in relief of Corey Schneider -- who left after the first period with an upper-body injury -- in a 5-1 loss to the Ducks on Friday.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid hasn't inspired any confidence this year as a backup to Schneider, who thankfully appears to have avoided serious injury on what was believed to be a shot off his collarbone that forced his exit. In nine appearances this year, Kinkaid has just one win, posting a .913 save percentage and 2.54 GAA, which has to be frustrating for Devils fans as Schneider leads the league with 40 starts and Kinkaid hasn't been able to provide ample relief when the former Canuck needs a night off. It hasn't mattered much in the standings, though, as the Devils currently sit 14 points out of a playoff spot, making Kinkaid nearly irrelevant in fantasy this season.

Devils' Kindkaid Makes 28 Saves In Loss

News: Keith Kinkaid made 28 saves on 31 shots in Friday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: While Keith Kinkaid has managed just one win in his last four appearances, the 25-year-old has played pretty well, stopping 107 of 117 shots in that span (.915 save percentage). While he now owns a 1-2-3 record on the season, Kinkaid still makes for a decent spot start whenever the workhorse Cory Schneider gets the night off.

Devils' Kinkaid Confirmed For Friday

News: Keith Kinkaid has been confirmed as the starting goalie for Friday's game against the Islanders, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: After Cory Schneider faced 42 shots a night earlier against Boston, the Devils will turn over the crease to Keith Kinkaid in an attempt to rest their top goalie. Kinkaid has been stellar over his seven appearances with the Devils, but his limited NHL track record makes him difficult to count on even as a streaming option. It's probably advisable to steer clear of him against an Islanders squad that isn't short on offensive talent.

Devils' Kinkaid Likely To Start Friday

News: Fellow goalie Cory Schneider indicated he expects Keith Kinkaid to receive the start Friday against the Islanders, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid doesn't receive starts on a consistent basis, but has been solid in net in the seven games he has played for the Devils this season, despite the 1-2-2 record. Over the span, he has respectable numbers outside of the record, posting a 2.01 GAA and .929 save percentage.

Devils' Kinkaid Surrenders Three Goals In Loss

News: Keith Kinkaid gave up three goals on 25 shots in Friday's loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: While starter Cory Schneider rarely gets the night off, Keith Kinkaid has proven to be a decent fantasy option whenever he gets the call. The 25-year-old backup is now 1-2-2 on the season with an impressive .928 save percentage and 2.01 GAA. Kinkaid boasts strong rate stats, but if you're in search of a backup goalie and desiring wins, you may want to look elsewhere, as the struggling Devils have managed just 13 wins in 40 games.

Devils' Kinkaid To Draw Friday Start

News: Keith Kinkaid will make the start in goal Friday against the Canadiens, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: With the Devils opening 2015 with back-to-back games, Keith Kinkaid will draw the first start while Cory Schneider is saved for Saturday's tilt with the Flyers. The young netminder has fared well in limited duty, going 1-1-2 with a 1.75 GAA and .939 save percentage over six games. It's hard to draw any meaningful conclusions from the small sample, however, so he doesn't quite make for a reliable streaming option against Montreal.

Devils' Kinkaid Records First NHL WIn

News: Keith Kinkaid stood on his head Friday against Tampa Bay, stopping 26 of 28 shots in regulation, before denying all three Bolts' shooters in the shootout for his first NHL win.
Analysis: Keith Kinkaid has been very reliable when called upon this season, posting a 1-1-2 record to go with a .939 save percentage and 1.75 GAA. The 25-year-old has never allowed more than two goals in a game and is proving to be a solid backup behind starter Cory Schneider. While he won't see too much action behind Schneider, Kinkaid is a reliable fantasy option whenever the former Canuck gets the night off.
