Park A Game-Time Decision For Pittsburgh

News: Richard Park (lower body) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against Boston, Penguins.NHL.com reports.
Analysis: After a fast start to the year, Richard Park has just one point in his last 12 games, so hopefully he's not someone you're relying on.

Pens' Park Comes Through Again Tuesday

News: Richard Park extended his unlikely point streak to three games with a goal Tuesday night.
Analysis: Richard Park scored against his longtime team, the Islanders, 21 seconds into the second period. The 15th-year NHL vet, who was named the No. 3 star Tuesday, has two goals and six points in nine games. He continues to see sporadic top-six forward time, but much of his value lies with his faceoff ability and attention to detail on defense.

Pens' Park Produces Power-Play Points

News: Richard Park assisted on two goals Saturday and was named the No. 2 star in a 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Analysis: Pittsburgh played Richard Park on the point and on the wall during its first power play and the move paid off when Park fed Jordan Staal with a perfect goal-scoring pass. The versatile veteran now has five points (1, 4) in eight games, but his value lies more with the Pens than fantasy owners.

Pens Sign Park To One-Year Deal

News: Richard Park signed a one-year, two-way deal worth $550,000 with Pittsburgh on Thursday, the Penguins' Web site reports.
Analysis: Paek will likely serve in a Max Talbot-like role whenever he suits up for the Pens. He spent 13 seasons in the NHL before playing for Switzerland's Geneve Servette in 2010-11. Richard Park scored nine goals and 31 points for the Islanders two years ago, but his only real bit of fantasy value lies in his short-handed play -- the South Korean native has 14 career shorties.

Park scores twice in Saturday win

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored twice in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Lightning.
Analysis: Park had just two goals in his last 33 games before Saturday's contest, so this fine performance came completely out of the blue. He remains just a minimally-viable Fantasy option in the deepest of leagues that reward short-handed stats.

Richard Park

Park not doing much since Dec.

News: Islanders RW Richard Park failed to record a point and finished at even on Monday against the Devils. He has one goal and one assist in seven January games.
Analysis: After totaling 10 points in his first 27 games, Park has managed one goal and four points in his last 22 appearances. He is pretty much playing par for the course. Park is a penalty-killing specialist and that is why he is still kicking around the NHL. Park is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park has six assists in five games

News: Islanders RW Richard Park tallied three assists and finished at plus-1 during Monday's game against the Bruins. He has six assists in his last five games.
Analysis: Park has managed at least 10 goals and 10 assists in six of his previous seven seasons. He contributes off the team's lower lines, but Park is primarily on the roster for his penalty-killing skills. Park is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park scores goal, adds assist

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored a goal and added an assist on Saturday in a 5-0 win over the Sabres. Park's goal came 17:13 into the first period on an unassisted wrist shot to give the Isles a 1-0 lead. His assist was on one of three Jeff Tambellini goals on the night.
Analysis: Park is not much of an offensive presence with the Islanders, with only a goal and two assists so far this season. He remains just a low-end Fantasy option only worth using in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park one goal shy of career high

News: The Sports Xchange reports Islanders C Richard Park notched his 13th goal of the season Wednesday against the Capitals, one away from the career high he posted for Minnesota in 2002-03.
Analysis: The 32-year-old forward is also one point away from his second straight 30-point campaign. He has been a solid lower-line presence for the Islanders since 2006-07, but he still has average offensive skills. Park is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park picks up two-point evening

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored and assisted in Sunday's win over the Blackhawks. He now has 27 points on the season.
Analysis: Park is having a nice season, but is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park doing well off injury

News: Islanders RW Richard Park played in his second straight game Sunday against the Blackhawks after being out since Feb. 18 with broken ribs. Park scored a goal and added an assist in 13:21 of ice time. Park beat Nikolai Khabibulin between the legs from the left circle with 2:11 left in the first. He has three points since returning to the lineup.
Analysis: Park has provided New York with a nice jolt of energy since returning to the lineup, but as we have seen before, it won't last. Park is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park out with broken ribs

News: New York Islanders forward Richard Park will be out four weeks because of broken ribs, the team said Thursday night just before a game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Park had 15 minutes, 53 seconds of ice time Wednesday during a 3-1 road loss to the New York Rangers and showed no sign of injury. The Islanders didn't know when Park got hurt, but the 32-year-old right winger crashed hard into Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist 6:32 into the second period and was sent off for interference.
Analysis: Park and captain Bill Guerin were the only Islanders who played in all of New York's first 57 games. He has just one point in his last 14 games, but has managed 10 goals and 14 assists for the season. Park is a good two-way player, but is best utilized for his penalty-killing skills. Park is best used in Fantasy leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats when healthy.

Park nets three points, plus-3

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored twice, added an assist and finished at plus-3 during Friday's game against the Coyotes. Doug Weight fed Park on a long outlet pass to make it 5-3 with 3:05 left. Park struck again with 28 seconds to go on a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle after Rick DiPietro had gone to the bench for an extra attacker. It was his first goals in seven games.
Analysis: The veteran Park has come back to life as a pro since coming to New York in 2006-07. However, he is still not an elite scorer and is more important to his real team than Fantasy owners. Park is best used in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park has goal for third straight game

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored the team's only goal during a 4-1 loss to the Wild Friday. Doug Weight's perfect across-the-crease pass, nine seconds into a 5-on-3 situation, put Richard Park in position for a first-period goal against his former team. He has scored in three straight games and has six points during a four-game point streak.
Analysis: Park is having one of his better runs this season, but he is likely to cool off just as quick as he has gotten hot in recent games. Park has marginal offensive skills, but he is a good penalty killer and top option in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park assisted on Doug Weight's 1st period tally and then scored his 6th of the year in the 2nd on a power play. Park also picked up two minutes in the box for tripping along with his assist in the 3rd period.
Analysis: Park now has points in three straight games for the Islanders and 14 on the year. Park has marginal offensive skills, but he is a good penalty killer and top option in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.

Park tallies 2nd short-handed score

News: Islanders RW Richard Park scored the team's only goal during a 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets Saturday. In the final minute of the second period, Columbus was on the power play when a puck skipped over the stick of Blue Jackets defenseman Mike Commodore near the blue line and Park skated past him to collect it before sliding a backhander between Steve Mason's leg pads for the short-handed goal. It was his second short-handed score of the season.
Analysis: Park now has 13 short-handed scores in his career and 12 of them have come in the last seven seasons. Park has marginal offensive skills, but he is a good penalty killer and top option in leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.
