Ducks' Selanne Rounding Into Playoff Form

News: Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal during the second period of Thursday's Game 3 victory in Los Angeles.
Analysis: After picking up just one point in his first four games this postseason, Teemu Selanne's found his groove, picking up two goals and two assists in his last four contests, dating back to Game 5 against Dallas. Unsurprisingly, three of his five postseason points have come on the man advantage.

Selanne Gets Goal In Ducks' Loss

News: Teemu Selanne netted his first playoff goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kings.
Analysis: The Finnish Flash sniped it right between Jonathan Quick's legs and the goal put the Ducks up midway through the third. But the Kings knotted it up and ultimately won. It's nice to see him pot a goal as he heads toward retirement. But he, his team and fans alike hope that doesn't actually happen until June.

News: Teemu Selanne will sit out Wednesday's Game 4 against the Stars, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Ducks' Selanne Receives All Three Game Stars

News: Teemu Selanne played in his final regular season NHL game Sunday - a 3-2 OT win over the visiting Avalanche. He finished the game plus-one with three shots on goal.
Analysis: Although he didn't factor into the Ducks scoring in his regular season farewell, the Finnish Flash was honoured for his legendary NHL career by receiving the game's first, second and third stars. He also shared a touching moment with the Avs' J.S. Giguere -- Teemu Selanne's 2007 Cup-winning teammate who is also likely retiring at season's end -- as the two skated together, arms raised, after the game in front of a roaring crowd at Honda Center. The 43-year-old future hall of famer wraps up his NHL career with a staggering 1457 points in 1451 games, and will make one last push for his second Stanley Cup starting Wednesday versus the Stars.

Ducks' Selanne To Play Final Regular-Season Game

Analysis: Teemu Selanne has not played both ends of back-to-back games this season as the Ducks have sought to keep him fresh. That plan will continue into the final weekend of the regular season even though Selanne said he is strong enough to play both games.

Selanne Nets Two Assists For Ducks

News: Teemu Selanne nabbed two assists during the first half of the second period of a 5-2 win over the Sharks on Wednesday.
Analysis: While it is great to see the veteran have a solid night, it is worth noting that it also ends a four-game-long pointless for Teemu Selanne. The Ducks will still likely rely on Selanne's experience as the playoffs get close.

News: Teemu Selanne will not play in Saturday's game against the Kings, Elliott Teaford of the LA News Group reports.

Ducks' Selanne Injured In Sochi Opener

News: Teemu Selanne left Finland's opening game against Austria in the 2014 Winter Olympics with an upper-body injury, but is expected to play Friday vs. Norway, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Teemu Selanne came off a shift in the first period to get his neck checked out by trainers, ultimately being ruled out for the final two periods. The Fins were enjoying a comfortable lead over Austria when Selanne was ruled out, so it seems the team was just playing it safe with their 43-year-old captain. With doctors indicating Selanne will be OK to play Friday, look for him to return to the lineup without incident.

Ducks' Selanne Will Sit Saturday

News: Teemu Selanne (rest) will not be in the lineup Saturday against the Coyotes.
Analysis: As per usual, Teemu Selanne will be a spectator for one half of the Ducks' back-to-back, saving himself for Sunday's game against the Red Wings. Analysis: The veteran from Finland may be in the beginning of a hot streak, with three points in his last two games. If so, it'd be a welcome change of pace for his fantasy owners, who have seen the one-time superstar scuffle to the tune of 14 points in his first 36 games this year.
