|

| Andrew Brunette, LW MIN | |
| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette scored his team's only goal during a 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Monday. Brunette's power-play goal on a wild scramble in front of the net cut Chicago's lead to 2-1 at 3:29 of the third. It was his second goal in as many games and seventh on the season. | Analysis: Brunette seems to be the only Wild player grasping coach Todd Richards' offensive system. He has 10 points in 11 games and is pretty much the team's top offensive weapon early in the season. Brunette has clearly recovered from his knee surgery and is worth playing in Fantasy as long as he is producing. |

| News: Minnesota LW Andrew Brunette recorded a point in his fifth straight game to open the season on Wednesday in a 3-2 loss to the Ducks. Brunette scored with 10 seconds left in the game with the Wild's goalie pulled. | Analysis: Brunette has four goals and two assists to open the season, recording a point in every game. He is off to a surprisingly effective and has not looked sluggish after having offseason knee surgery. He could have a big year in Todd Richards' up-tempo offense, but we still like Brunette as a low-end Fantasy option for now. |

He is coming off reconstructive knee surgery. | Analysis: Brunette has three goals and five points to start the season. It's similar to his 2008-09 start when Brunette had two goals and three assists in his first three games. Brunette has not looked one bit sluggish since having offseason knee surgery. He could have a big year in Todd Richards' up-tempo offense, but we like Brunette as a low-end Fantasy option to start the year. |

| News: Andrew Brunette came up with a dramatic kind of "welcome home" gift for his new coach in the Minnesota Wild's first victory of the season. With Todd Richard coaching his first NHL regular-season game in his home state, Brunette's power-play goal in overtime lifted the Wild to a 4-3 victory against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday in Minnesota's home opener. With the teams skating four-on-four in overtime, Anaheim's James Wisniewski was penalized for roughing during a post-whistle skirmish. Brunette poked a puck past Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastian Giguere on the ensuing power play. | Analysis: Brunette, who also had an assist Tuesday, has now scored in two straight games. He has not looked one bit sluggish since having offseason knee surgery. Brunette could have a big year in Richards' up-tempo offense, but we like Brunette as a low-end Fantasy option to start the year. |
Brunette makes preseason appearance

| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette (legs) was able to play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Flyers. He had no points and a minus-1 rating in 15:05 of ice time. It was Brunette's first and only preseason appearance. | Analysis: Brunette dealt with some sore legs during training camp, but it was unrelated to his offseason knee surgery. Brunette returned to Minnesota last season after spending a few years in Colorado. He played on a torn ACL for most of the year, but still finished second on the team with 22 goals and 50 points. Most players struggle coming off a serious knee injury like a torn ACL, so consider Brunette an injury-risk option to begin the year. |

| News: Minnesota played a preseason game Thursday against the Blues without Andrew Brunette and Mikko Koivu, who are battling leg injuries and have yet to play in an exhibition game, although each skated with the team Thursday. Also missing were Pierre-Marc Bouchard (illness) and Petr Sykora (ankle). | Analysis: Brunette is merely dealing with a case of sore legs and is being held out for precautionary reasons. It has nothing to do with the knee surgery he had in the offseason. Brunette returned to Minnesota last season after spending a few years in Colorado. He played on a torn ACL for most of the year, but still finished second on the team with 22 goals and 50 points. Most players struggle coming off a serious knee injury like a torn ACL, so consider Brunette an injury-risk selection on Draft Day. |
Injured Wild players healthy for camp
|

| Andrew Brunette, LW MIN | |
| News: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Wild G Niklas Backstrom (hip surgery), Andrew Brunette (knee), D Brent Burns (concussion, shoulder), LW Derek Boogaard (shoulder surgery) and RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) were all healthy enough to start training camp on schedule this past weekend. | Analysis: Backstrom is the most Fantasy-viable player in this group as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy goalie. He was a finalist for the Vezina last season and will be looking to build on his monster 2008-09 campaign. Burns is a solid reserve defenseman in normal leagues and is good enough to start in deeper formats. Bouchard and Brunette are a little ways down the winger rankings, but Bouchard is an interesting injury-risk flier with his possible move to center and Brunette is a legitimate 50-60 point guy. Boogaard is an enforcer who only has value in deeper leagues that reward bad behavior. |
Brunette has successful surgery

| Andrew Brunette, LW MIN | |
| News: Minnesota Wild forward Andrew Brunette had surgery on his right knee on Thursday. The team said in a statement that the procedure "went well." Brunette is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation program on Friday. The left wing played on a torn ligament for much of the second half of the season. He missed only two games all season. He said he hopes to be ready for training camp in September. | Analysis: Brunette signed a three-year, $7 million contract to return to the Wild in the offseason. He provided toughness and leadership and finished second on the team with 22 goals and 50 points. Most players coming off a torn ACL struggle in their first season back. However, Brunette played with the injury for most of the season, so he could be well ahead of the curve upon his return. Still, Brunette will be an injury-risk selection on Draft Day 2009. |

| News: Minnesota Wild left wing Andrew Brunette will have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right knee. Despite the torn anterior cruciate ligament, Brunette still managed to play the final three months of the season. The surgery is set for Thursday. | Analysis: Brunette sat out only twice all season, ending his consecutive games streak at 509 -- the NHL's longest current run. He was first hurt in a game in January, but skated with a brace on the knee and finished with 22 goals and 28 assists. Brunette said Monday he hopes to be ready for training camp in September. He signed a $7 million, three-year contract with Minnesota last summer. Most players coming off a torn ACL struggle in their first season back. However, Brunette played with the injury for most of the season, so he could be well ahead of the curve upon his return. Still, Brunette will be an injury-risk selection on Draft Day 2009. |

| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette scored in Friday's win over the Flames, giving him four goals in his last five games. | Analysis: We have to give it up to Brunette. He continues to dress for the Wild despite the fact he is playing on a torn ACL. That shows a lot of courage. He still can be productive at times, but since sustaining the injury, he has lacked consistency. For that, consider Brunette a low-end Fantasy forward. |

| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette scored a goal during Sunday's 3-2 win against the Oilers. The Wild opened the scoring seven minutes in when Marian Gaborik's whiffed shot was picked up in front of the net by Brunette, who stuffed a backhand shot past Edmonton starter Dwayne Roloson for his 20th of the season. | Analysis: Brunette has scored in three straight games and has five points in that span. We have to give it up to Brunette. He continues to dress for the Wild despite the fact he is playing on a torn ACL. That shows a lot of courage. Brunette restored Minnesota's three-goal lead with 3:49 left as he tipped the puck past Yann Danis. It was his 18th goal and first in five games. | Analysis: We have to give it up to Brunette. | News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Wild LW Andrew Brunette is playing on a partially torn or fully torn right anterior cruciate ligament and faces offseason surgery. "At the end of the year, we're going to have to make a decision whether he's going to need surgery or not," general manager Doug Risebrough said. "It's up to him, but he's had two incidents of sprains, so that shows you a dysfunction of some sort." | Analysis: Brunette said after the Wild's 5-3 loss to St. Louis on Sunday night he'll "probably" have surgery. "I'll have to make a decision, but if it's going to be the way it is now, obviously I'll have to have it," said Brunette, the Wild's fourth-leading scorer with 40 points. Asked why he doesn't shut himself down, Brunette, 35, said, "It's the same approach I take to every hockey game I play. I want to play. I'm part of this team and I want to help this team win. I would sell myself short if I didn't try to help this team. You've got to look yourself in the mirror, and if I can get out there, I can help this team." Brunette has posted four points in his last two games, but his production has been down since February. The injury is taking its toll and Brunette might just deliver spotty play the rest of the season. He is definitely an injury-risk start. |
Brunette reaches 40-point mark

Updated 3/16/2009 |
| Andrew Brunette, LW MIN | |
| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette reached the 40-point mark for a ninth straight season Sunday when he scored and assisted in a 5-3 loss to the Blues. | Analysis: Brunette's numbers are down as of late and it likely has to do with the fact he is not 100 percent. He is playing through a bum knee, and coach Jacques Lemaire said he will do his best to limit his practice time down the stretch so he can rest up. Brunette has not had a month of 10-plus points in 2008-09 and his return to Minnesota hasn't gone as scripted. He still has low-end Fantasy appeal. |

| News: Wild LW Andrew Brunette returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Kings after missing two games with a lower-body injury. He didn't record a point in 16:58 of ice time and finished at even. He also spent two minutes in the penalty box. | Analysis: Brunette hasn't scored a goal in seven games and has just one assist in that span. He hasn't had a sparkling offensive season with the Wild and remains just a low-end Fantasy forward when healthy. |

| News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Wild LW Andrew Brunette, who has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, is expected to play Tuesday against the Kings, according to assistant GM Tom Lynn. | Analysis: Brunette has been an iron man for the good part of the last decade, so it's encouraging to see him only miss a few games. However, he hasn't had a sparkling offensive season with the Wild and remains just a low-end Fantasy forward when healthy. |
Brunette misses a second game

| News: Minnesota LW Andrew Brunette didn't dress for a second straight game or accompany the Wild to Chicago due to a knee injury on Sunday. Brunette's consecutive game streak ended at 509 on Saturday when he didn't play in Minnesota's 5-2 home win over Detroit. The streak was the longest among active NHL players. | Analysis: With Brunette's streak over, there was no reason to bring him along to Chicago. There's not much known about the severity of this injury, but hopefully the iron man can get backk on the horse soon and start another streak. When healthy, Brunette is a low-end option. |
Brunette has streak snapped

| Andrew Brunette, LW MIN | |
| News: Minnesota LW Andrew Brunette sat out Saturday's game against Detroit because of a lower-body injury, ending the NHL's longest active consecutive games streak at 509. He last missed a game Dec. 31, 2001, because of a shoulder contusion. | Analysis: It's always sad to see a streak like the one Brunette had accumulated come to a close in this day and age. More importantly to Fantasy owners, a decent low-end option is now on the pine and owners in deeper leagues may be feeling it. Brunette has 13 goals and 19 assists in 56 games. He remains a low-end option when healthy, which will hopefully be soon. |
Brunette in jeopardy of missing game

| News: Minnesota Wild left wing Andrew Brunette's consecutive games played streak is in jeopardy again. Brunette sustained a lower-body injury Thursday night in the first period of Minnesota's overtime loss to Calgary. He has played 509 consecutive games, the longest current streak in the NHL. Assistant general manager Tom Lynn said Brunette will try to play Saturday, declaring his status as "possible" to face Detroit. The 35-year-old winger didn't practice Friday. | Analysis: Brunette has 13 goals and 19 assists in 56 games. He was first hurt, apparently spraining his right knee, in a collision against Anaheim on Jan. 17. But he bounced back in time to suit up in the next game two days later. Brunette has struggled in February with one goal and two assists in seven games. He is still not being overly aggressive on offense and has just low-end Fantasy appeal when healthy. |
