Bruins' Krug Scores First Since Return

News: Torey Krug picked up his first point in five games since returning from a finger injury, scoring his third goal of the year in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Thanks in large part to the injury, this actually represents Torey Krug's first even-strength point since Oct. 21. He'd looked a bit lackluster over four games since returning, as he was possibly still affected by the injury, but Krug remains a strong fantasy roll.

Bruins' Krug Returns To Action

News: In his return to the Bruins' lineup Monday against New Jersey, Torey Krug (finger) recorded one shot on goal in 21:16 worth of ice time.
Analysis: Torey Krug, who had been out since breaking his finger on Oct. 28, also resumed his power play duties for the Bruins in his return to the lineup on Monday. While it may take some time for his shooting to completely round back into form, with no reported setbacks with his finger, it looks safe to roll with Krug (who has six points in 12 games to date) in fantasy lineups moving forward.

Bruins Activate Krug

News: Torey Krug (finger) was activated from injured reserve in advance of Monday's game against the Devils.
Analysis: After being projected to miss two-to-three weeks after suffering a broken pinkie finger during an Oct. 28 contest, Torey Krug ended up beating the short end of the timetable by one day. He'll replace Matt Bartkowski in Monday's lineup, with David Warsofsky (groin) moving to injured reserve to reopen a spot on the 23-man roster.

Bruins' Krug (Finger) Will Play Monday

News: Torey Krug (finger) is expected to play Monday against the Devils, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug was a participant in the pregame skate and seems poised to make a return off the IR upon his entrance into Monday's game. Despite the injury, he currently sits with two goals and four assists through 11 games.

Bruins' Krug Could Play Monday

News: Torey Krug (finger) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Devils, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug is still on IR with a broken finger, but is eligible to be activated prior to Monday's game if he's healthy enough to play. The blueliner was off to a good start before getting hurt, with two goals and four assists through 11 games.

Bruins' Krug Nears Return

News: Torey Krug, who has missed four games with a broken finger, could return to action as soon as Monday against New Jersey, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug was able to practice Sunday, with coach Claude Julien suggesting that the blueliner's status for Monday's game is likely to be a game-day call.

Bruins' Krug Progressing

News: Torey Krug (broken left pinky) practiced Friday, but his status for Monday's game against New Jersey is unclear, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: "I don't know, I mean it's one of the things that I'll talk to the medical staff and the coaches will make a decision and we'll see," Torey Krug said with regard to his chances of suiting up on Monday. "You know, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it." The report relays that the Bruins have Saturday off, so Krug's next chance to hit the ice and test his injured finger out further will arrive Sunday when the team returns to practice.

Bruins' Krug Progressing

News: Torey Krug (finger) was present for Friday's practice.
Analysis: When Torey Krug suffered a broken finger back on Oct. 28, the timetable for his return to action was estimated to be in the 2-3 week range. While Krug's presence at practice is a sign that he is progressing, the Boston Globe notes that the blueliner's return to the lineup hinges on his ability to hold on to/grip his hockey stick effectively. More on Krug's status as next week's busy stretch of games (four contests in six days) -- which opens with Monday's tilt against New Jersey -- approaches.

Bruins' Krug Skates Tuesday

News: Torey Krug (finger) skated prior to Tuesday's morning session.
Analysis: Since Torey Krug is recovering from a broken finger, Tuesday's session was strictly for conditioning work rather than an attempt to test out the injury. Krug is nearing the one week mark of his two-to-three week recovery timetable.

Bruins' Krug Out 2-3 Weeks With Broken Finger

News: Torey Krug has been ruled out for two-to-three weeks with a broken pinkie finger, Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug was able to remain in the contest after taking a slash to the finger in Tuesday's loss to the Wild, but upon being evaluated after the contest, the team determined the blueliner would require some extended rest. It's yet another blow to a Bruins defense that had been struggling even before top blueliner Zdeno Chara tore a knee ligament last week. With both Chara and Krug down for multiple weeks, the inexperienced trio of Zach Trotman, David Warsofsky and Joe Morrow will face the onerous task of trying to replace their production on both ends of the ice.

Bruins' Krug Banged Up After Tuesday's Game

News: Torey Krug is feeling sore after taking a shot off his foot and having his finger sliced from a slash in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Wild, Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug did manage to pick up a power-play assist in his 24:07 of ice time, but fantasy owners should be justifiably more concerned about the blueliner's health. Though the team hasn't offered any word on Krug's status, defensemen Joe Morrow and David Warsofsky have already been recalled from AHL Providence, ostensibly to provide other options if Krug is forced to miss time. For the time being, Krug should be viewed as day-to-day, but his availability for Thursday's game against the Sabres looks to be in serious question.

Big Game For Bruins' Krug

News: Torey Krug scored on the power play and dished out two assists (one on the man advantage) in Tuesday's victory over the Sharks.
Analysis: Easily the best outing of the year for Torey Krug, who's on a three-game point streak now after starting the season with five straight scoreless contests. He should put up plenty of points this year thanks to his role on Boston's power play.

Boston's Krug Nets First Goal

News: Torey Krug bagged a goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: After he was held without a point in the first five games, Torey Krug seems to be heating up along with the rest of his mates. He's now delivered a goal and assist while attempting seven shots over his last two tilts.

Bruins' Krug Notches First Point

News: Torey Krug notched an assist in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Montreal.
Analysis: With the Bruins' offense off to a sporadic start, the point was the first of the season for Torey Krug, who missed the the first 11 days of training camp before re-signing with the team. That said, Krug, who was a plus-3 in the game, was skating well Thursday and with regular power play duty part of his job description, expect more consistent production from the mobile blueliner as the season progresses.

Krug Back In Business For Bruins

News: Torey Krug made his preseason debut in Friday's 6-1 win over the Islanders, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Though he missed the first 11 days of training camp, Torey Krug looks good to go as the season approaches and he's on track to remain a key cog on both the Bruins' blue line and power play, after racking up 40 points in 79 games with the team in 2013-14.

Bruins Sign Krug

News: The Bruins signed Torey Krug to a one-year, $1.4 million deal Monday, USA Today reports.
Analysis: The Bruins also signed fellow restricted free agent Reilly Smith to an identical contract, meaning they can just sneak under the salary cap now for one more season. Torey Krug probably took less money than he's worth, and should be in line for a raise a year from now after being a fixture in the lineup this season.

Bruins' Krug Remains Away

News: Per the Boston Herald, there have been no visible developments with regard to the contract situations of Torey Krug and Reilly Smith.
Analysis: With training camp underway, the duo remains unsigned, and though we'd expect both Torey Krug and Smith to rejoin the Bruins' fold in time, such an outcome is not yet imminent. Meanwhile, Krug's absence paves the way for another smallish and mobile player, David Warsofsky, to see added opportunities in training camp.

Bruins Working To Sign Krug

News: GM Peter Chiarelli hopes to complete a new deal with Torey Krug before training camp starts on Thursday, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: The same applies to fellow restricted free agent Reilly Smith, though given the Bruins' current salary cap situation, the team may need to make a deal in order engineer new deals with the duo. In any case, Torey Krug -- who notched 40 points in 79 games last season -- remains in the team's long-term plans, and we'd expect him to be officially back in the fold before too long.

Bruins' Krug Producing In Playoffs Again

News: Torey Krug pushed his playoff point streak to five games Tuesday, notching an assist in a Game 3 loss to Montreal.
Analysis: Torey Krug's got two goals and four helpers over the course of this stretch, and now boasts a remarkable 14 points in his first 23 postseason contests. He just keeps getting better and better. Fantasy owners had to be happy with his 40 points in the regular season, but Krug hasn't reached his ceiling yet.

Bruins Win Behind Krug's Key Helper

News: Torey Krug registered his seventh point of this postseason with an assist on the game-winning goal as Boston came from behind to beat Montreal on Saturday afternoon, 5-3.
Analysis: The Bruins are getting lots of scoring help from the blue line. Torey Krug is second on the roster with seven points in as many contests, and shows no sign of slowing up as the playoffs continue.

Krug Active In Boston Win

News: Torey Krug dished out two assists in Saturday's 4-2 series-clinching win over Detroit in their Atlantic Division semifinal series. He finished the series with five points in as many games.
Analysis: Torey Krug broke out during Boston's playoff run last Spring and is showing again he enjoys playing when the games matter more with a point-per-game rate through the first round. He figures to be an asset to the Bruins and playoff poolies who were counting on him being a factor in the team's scoring. Boston has been picked by many to reach the Stanley Cup final and even win the Cup, thus making Krug a savvy selection considering his potential level of production and how many games he'll play.

Bruins' Krug Tallies Two Assists

News: Torey Krug picked up two helpers in Game 2 against the Red Wings on Sunday.
Analysis: Torey Krug first made his name in last year's playoffs, and this season he had 40 points, including 14 goals. He is a legitimate point producer from the blueline.

Bruins' Krug Dishes Out Two Assists

News: Torey Krug dished out two helpers in Saturday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Torey Krug only has three points in his last 10 games, but has tallied 14 goals and 40 points in 78 games on the season. He is also a plus-19 on the year, with Mar. 2 vs. the Rangers being the last time Krug finished with a negative plus-minus rating in a game.

Krug Returns To Bruins' Lineup

News: Torey Krug saw 19:49 worth of ice time in Wednesday's loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: Torey Krug was credited with three shots in the game, but unfortunately he had a goal waved off because teammate Zdeno Chara was in the crease. To date, Krug, who was a healthy scratch Sunday, has recorded 14 goals and 37 points in 73 games.

News: Torey Krug will be a healthy scratch Sunday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Torey Krug, along with Corey Potter will take a seat Sunday, while Matt Bartkowski is in line to cycle back into the Bruins' blue line mix against the Flyers.
