Bruins' Krug Remains Away

News: Per the Boston Herald, there have been no visible developments with regard to the contract situations of Torey Krug and Reilly Smith.
Analysis: With training camp underway, the duo remain unsigned, and though we'd expect both Torey Krug and Smith to rejoin the Bruins' fold in time, such an outcome is not yet imminent. Meanwhile, Krug's absence paves the way for fellow smallish mobile David Warsofsky to see added opportunities in training camp.

Bruins Working To Sign Krug

News: GM Peter Chiarelli hopes to complete a new deal with Torey Krug before training camp starts on Thursday, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: The same applies to fellow restricted free agent Reilly Smith, though given the Bruins' current salary cap situation, the team may need to make a deal in order engineer new deals with the duo. In any case, Torey Krug -- who notched 40 points in 79 games last season -- remains in the team's long-term plans, and we'd expect him to be officially back in the fold before too long.

Bruins' Krug Producing In Playoffs Again

News: Torey Krug pushed his playoff point streak to five games Tuesday, notching an assist in a Game 3 loss to Montreal.
Analysis: Torey Krug's got two goals and four helpers over the course of this stretch, and now boasts a remarkable 14 points in his first 23 postseason contests. He just keeps getting better and better. Fantasy owners had to be happy with his 40 points in the regular season, but Krug hasn't reached his ceiling yet.

Bruins Win Behind Krug's Key Helper

News: Torey Krug registered his seventh point of this postseason with an assist on the game-winning goal as Boston came from behind to beat Montreal on Saturday afternoon, 5-3.
Analysis: The Bruins are getting lots of scoring help from the blue line. Torey Krug is second on the roster with seven points in as many contests, and shows no sign of slowing up as the playoffs continue.

Krug Active In Boston Win

News: Torey Krug dished out two assists in Saturday's 4-2 series-clinching win over Detroit in their Atlantic Division semifinal series. He finished the series with five points in as many games.
Analysis: Torey Krug broke out during Boston's playoff run last Spring and is showing again he enjoys playing when the games matter more with a point-per-game rate through the first round. He figures to be an asset to the Bruins and playoff poolies who were counting on him being a factor in the team's scoring. Boston has been picked by many to reach the Stanley Cup final and even win the Cup, thus making Krug a savvy selection considering his potential level of production and how many games he'll play.

Bruins' Krug Tallies Two Assists

News: Torey Krug picked up two helpers in Game 2 against the Red Wings on Sunday.
Analysis: Torey Krug first made his name in last year's playoffs, and this season he had 40 points, including 14 goals. He is a legitimate point producer from the blueline.

Bruins' Krug Dishes Out Two Assists

News: Torey Krug dished out two helpers in Saturday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Torey Krug only has three points in his last 10 games, but has tallied 14 goals and 40 points in 78 games on the season. He is also a plus-19 on the year, with Mar. 2 vs. the Rangers being the last time Krug finished with a negative plus-minus rating in a game.

Krug Returns To Bruins' Lineup

News: Torey Krug saw 19:49 worth of ice time in Wednesday's loss to the Red Wings.
Analysis: Torey Krug was credited with three shots in the game, but unfortunately he had a goal waved off because teammate Zdeno Chara was in the crease. To date, Krug, who was a healthy scratch Sunday, has recorded 14 goals and 37 points in 73 games.

Krug Returns To Bruins' Lineup

News: Torey Krug returned to the Bruins' lineup Monday against the Canadiens after being a healthy scratch Saturday against the Coyotes.
Analysis: Torey Krug saw 18:44 worth of ice time Monday, including 5:50 on the power play. He figures to remain in the lineup more often than not thanks to his upside on offense, but at the moment, the team's blue-line depth forces coach Claude Julien to choose an odd man out among Krug, Dougie Hamilton, Matt Bartkowski and Andrej Meszaros every time the Bruins are in action.

Bruins' Krug Sits On Saturday

Bruins' Rookie D-Man Krug Finds Twine

News: Torey Krug scored for the second time in three games, piling on the Bruins' fifth goal in Saturday afternoon's 5-1 triumph over Carolina.
Analysis: The goal was relatively meaningless, as it came with 10 seconds left in the game with the Bruins up 4-1. However, it was meaningful to the American rookie, who sat out last game as a healthy scratch. His 36th point is most among rookie rearguards and slides him into fourth in overall rookie scoring behind Nathan MacKinnon, Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson. Although he has been split up with captain Zdeno Chara at regular strength, Torey Krug is still manning the point with him on the Bruins' top power-play unit, so his value remains high - as long as he's on the ice and not in the press box.

Bruins' Krug A Healthy Scratch Thursday

News: Torey Krug is a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Coyotes.
Analysis: With Dougie Hamilton slotting back in, Torey Krug will be the odd man out. The Bruins have played around with their blueline rotation all season, and Krug will likely rejoin the lineup soon, given that he played in each of the B's first 65 games this season.

Bruins' Krug Ends Slump With Goal

News: Torey Krug scored his 13th goal of the season in Sunday's win over the Panthers.
Analysis: The young defenseman sputtered out of the Olympic break by going without a point in his first five games, but put an end to the slump with Sunday's performance. His goal with 12:22 remaining in the third period began a four-score barrage that salted the game away for the Bruins.

Bruins' Krug Supplies Goal In Win

News: Torey Krug had a power-play goal in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: It was Torey Krug's 12th overall goal of the season and sixth on the power play. The rookie has contributed five points over his last five games and should be owned across all formats.

Boston's Krug Picks Up Two Assists In Win

News: Torey Krug supplied two assists in Saturday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: The two assists give Torey Krug four points in his last four games and 27 points overall on the season, putting him tops among all rookie defensemen by a fairly comfortable margin.

Bruins' Krug Delivers Three Points Saturday

News: Torey Krug had two goals and an assist in Saturday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: A maintenance day during Friday's practice was all Torey Krug needed to turn in one of his best performances of the season, as the defenseman added yet another chapter to his impressive sophomore campaign. With 23 points in 42 games this season, his emergence has been exactly what the Bruins have needed to offset the offensive decline of fellow blueliner Zdeno Chara.

Bruins' Krug Playing Saturday

News: Torey Krug (undisclosed) is playing Saturday vs. the Jets, CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty reports.
Analysis: Torey Krug received Friday's practice off with what coach Claude Julien described as a maintenance day. With a full day off to recuperate, Krug should be in line for his usual 17 to 18 minutes of action in Saturday's contest.

Bruins' Krug Misses Practice

News: Torey Krug (unspecified issue) missed Friday's practice, the Boston Globe reports. "Maintenance day," coach Claude Julien said Friday of Krug's absence. "We'll see how he is (Saturday, when the Bruins take on Winnipeg at 1:00 ET). "If he's good to go, he'll go."
Analysis: Though it's unclear what's ailing him, Torey Krug did not play the final four minutes of regulation or in the brief overtime in Thursday's win over the Predators. If Krug is not able to play Saturday, then Kevan Miller would presumably fill in for him on the team's blue line.

Bruins' Krug Good To Go

News: Torey Krug (undisclosed injury) saw 19:58 worth of ice time Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Torey Krug went into the game officially a game-time decision, but he looked unimpeded Thursday, playing 2:17 on the power and recording three shots on goal, while looking just as energetic and dangerous with the puck as he has typically of late.

Bruins' Krug Likely To Play Thursday

News: Though the Bruins classify Torey Krug (undisclosed injury) as a game-time decision, coach Claude Julien said that he'd be "extremely surprised if (the blueliner) didn't play" Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Torey Krug participated in the Bruins' Thursday morning skate and given Julien's words, it looks like the dynamic young defenseman will be available Thursday night, barring a setback in warmups.

Bruins' Krug Skates Thursday Morning

News: Torey Krug (undisclosed injury) rotated in on a defensive pairing with Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuk during Thursday's morning skate.
Analysis: While coach Claude Julien said Wednesday that Torey Krug is "fine" after the Bruins' recent layoff, those rolling with the blueliner will still want to monitor his status as Thursday's game against Montreal approaches, given that he was rotating into the mix Thursday morning.

Bruins' Krug On Track To Play Thursday

News: Torey Krug (undisclosed) will travel to Montreal for Thursday's game against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Meanwhile, coach Claude Julien said Wednesday that Torey Krug is "fine", noting that "those few days" between Saturday's game against Columbus and the present "really helped (Krug) out a lot."

Bruins' Krug Practices

News: Torey Krug (undisclosed) practiced with the team Wednesday, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: The blueliner missed Tuesday's practice with what was described as a minor injury, but returned to the ice Wednesday. There's no word on his status for Thursday's matchup with the Canadiens, but it looks likely that he'll be able to play. Torey Krug currently has seven goals and nine assists in 27 games.

Bruins' Krug Misses Practice Tuesday

News: Torey Krug missed practice Tuesday with a "minor body" ailment, CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Coach Claude Julien labeled the defenseman as day-to-day with the injury, clouding his status for Thursday's game against the Canadiens. With fellow defenseman Adam McQuaid also missing Tuesday's practice after re-aggravating a groin injury, Kevan Miller was recalled from AHL Providence on an emergency basis in the event either of the injured defenseman are unavailable Thursday.
