Bruins' Smith Notches Helper

News: Reilly Smith recorded an assist in Thursday's shootout loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Reilly Smith, who has points in each of his last two games, checks in with 20 goals and 51 points in 80 games to date. Acquired by the Bruins in the Tyler Seguin deal this past summer, Smith has been one of the team's most pleasant surprises this season, displaying good stick skills and speed, while mostly working of the team's balanced second line, along with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.

Bruins' Smith Ends Goalless Skid

News: Reilly Smith potted his 19th goal of the season in Monday's 4-1 win over the Wild.
Analysis: The Bruins have been on a roll offensively for a while now, but Reilly Smith hasn't been much of a factor in the scoring brigade in recent weeks. The goal Monday was his first in 15 games, and he's collected a total of just six points during that span.

Bruins' Smith: Mired In Slump But Nets SO Winner

News: Reilly Smith, who has not scored a regulation goal in his last 11 games, potted the winner in the seventh-round of the shootout Saturday to give Boston a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Hopefully this takes the monkey off his back. He has just four assists in those 11 games and is stuck at 44 points on the season. Activate him if you're feeling lucky. Otherwise, you might want to see him start delivering in regulation before you flip the switch.

Bruins' Smith Returns To Practice

News: Reilly Smith (illness) returned to practice Saturday, CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty reports.
Analysis: Reilly Smith missed Friday's session due to an illness, but appears to be all set to play when the Bruins take the ice for their first game out of the break Wednesday vs. Buffalo.

Smith Picks Up Two Helpers In Bruins' Win

News: Reilly Smith grabbed two assists and finished with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Senators.
Analysis: The two assists snapped a four-game scoring drought for the young winger. He's now supplied 42 points in 56 games this season, keeping the Bruins' second line productive throughout.

Bruins' Smith Tallies Two Points Monday

News: Reilly Smith had a goal and an assist in Monday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: Reilly Smith has swiftly overcome a slow start to the month with two goals and five assists over his last six games. With 39 points overall in 51 games this season, he's been even more valuable than fellow newcomer Loui Eriksson, who came over from the Stars in the same offseason trade as Smith.

Bruins' Smith Extends Point Streak

News: Reilly Smith tallied his 16th goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: The goal gives Reilly Smith exactly one point in five consecutive games. He's further supplemented his value by posting a accumulating plus-7 rating during that time, vaulting him up to plus-11 on the season.

Bruins' Smith Stays Sizzling With Two Goals

News: Reilly Smith potted two goals in Friday's 5-0 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Though Reilly Smith received second billing to Loui Eriksson after coming over in the offseason deal that sent Tyler Seguin to the Stars, he's been the most impressive player in the Bruins' haul so far this season, particularly of late. He's now reeled off five goals and two assists over his last three games.

Bruins' Smith Has Three Point Night

News: Reilly Smith scored the game-winning goal on the power play and added two assists in Monday's 6-2 win over the Predators. He now has three goals and five points in his last two games.
Analysis: The 22-year-old has been a revelation this season in Boston, collecting 28 points in 37 games to go alongside a plus-6 rating. He has four power-play goals on the year and is currently skating on the second line. Take full advantage.

Bruins' Smith: Two More Goals

News: Reilly Smith scored twice, once on the power play and another into an empty net, in Boston's 4-1 win over Buffalo on Saturday night. It's his second, two-goal game in his last four outings.
Analysis: How about eight points in his last eight games? Reilly Smith's contributions since coming over in the Tyler Seguin deal have been nothing short of outstanding. He has 25 points in 36 games this season and is on pace for a 57-point season. Make sure you're taking full advantage.

Reilly Provides Boston's Sole Offense In Loss

News: Reilly Smith carded his eighth and ninth goals of the campaign in Saturday's 6-2 loss at Vancouver.
Analysis: He's already blown past his rookie-year stats and is among Boston's most productive offensive options now. The only caveat is that he may find it hard to maintain his current shooting percentage of 17.6% over a full season.

Bruins' Smith Pots Winner Tuesday

News: Reilly Smith scored the game-winning goal Tuesday against Calgary, following David Krejci's game-tying marker less than two minutes later with time running down in the third period.
Analysis: That's points in three straight games for the 22-year-old winger and 21 on the season as his surprising breakout continues. This isn't as big of a surprise, however, to those who followed his career at Miami of Ohio, where he scored 102 points in 77 games over his final two seasons.

Bruins' Smith Fills In For Eriksson

News: Reilly Smith notched an assist in Sunday's 5-2 win over Toronto.
Analysis: With Loui Eriksson concussed, Reilly Smith is now skating on a line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron, which gives the surprisingly productive right winger -- who has three points in his last two games -- some added upside while that scenario exists.

Bruins' Smith: Two-Point Game

News: Reilly Smith scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Penguins. He now has 19 points in 29 games.
Analysis: He has been a strong performer since coming over in the Tyler Seguin deal. He spent time on a scoring line Saturday and the results were immediate. Watch to see if this gig sticks -- if so, snap him up.

Bruins' Smith Scores In Win Over Pens

News: Reilly Smith scored a goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Reilly Smith -- who has five points in his last five games -- continues to be a pleasant surprise for the B's, notching five goals and 16 points in 24 games overall. More importantly, of late, his line -- which includes Carl Soderberg on the left side and Chris Kelly at center -- has given the Bruins a stable and and effective third trio up front, an element the team had been often lacking over the past couple of seasons.

Bruins' Smith Tallies Two Points

News: Reilly Smith scored a power-play goal and added an assist Monday versus the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Reilly Smith, perhaps quietly, has 13 points in 20 games this season. He's already set a career high in points, and is seeing his first real NHL action. Maybe he's worth keeping an eye on.

Bruins' Smith Picks Up Two More Points Thursday

News: Reilly Smith notched a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Reilly Smith picked up both points in the third period, with the goal coming in the final two minutes of a relatively easy win. After scoring just nine points (three goals) in 37 games last season, Smith already has 10 points (two goals) through 15 games. Though the production will probably taper off to some extent, Smith still looks to be headed for a surprisingly strong season.

Bruins' Smith Heats Up

News: Reilly Smith picked up an assist in 15:29 worth of ice time in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Reilly Smith -- who saw 2:33 worth of time on the power play time Wednesday -- now has points in his last five games, while skating on a line centered by Patrice Bergeron. He's emerged as a pleasant surprise out of the gate and in his current role, Smith merits fantasy consideration.

Smith Scores First Goal In Bruins Jersey

News: Reilly Smith contributed his first goal of the year Thursday against the Panthers, scoring the game-winning goal with 59 seconds remaining in the third period against former Boston goaltender Tim Thomas. He went plus-1 with two penalty minutes and four shots on goal.
Analysis: Reilly Smith managed only three goals and nine points in 37 games with the Stars last year, but has already picked up four points in his first six games as a Bruin. A big scorer in college (58 goals in 77 games over his final two seasons at Miami of Ohio), the 22-year-old has nice offensive upside, but likely won't be able to maintain his early-season scoring consistency in limited ice time. He did, however, skate a season-high 14:56 Thursday.

Bruins' Smith Off To Solid Start

News: Reilly Smith picked up an assist in 11:31 worth of ice time in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Wings.
Analysis: Reilly Smith, who has three assists in five games to date, has started to earned time on the B's second line with Loui Eriksson and Patrice Bergeron. We suspect that the promotion won't be permanent, but coach Claude Julien is mixing his lines up a bit in order to help spark Brad Marchand, who is off to a slow start.

Smith Expected To See Third Line Duty For Bruins

News: Reilly Smith is on track to play right wing on the Bruins' third line, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: There had been some uncertainly as to how the B's third line would look, but Reilly Smith now appears set to work with Carl Soderberg on the left side and Chris Kelly at center. Smith could also see some penalty-killing action, but given his likley role in a very balanced Boston attack, his fantasy upside appears modest, at least out of the gate.

Bruins' Smith Could Secure Third-Line Wing Spot

News: Reilly Smith has opened some eyes during his stint with the Bruins, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli praised Reilly Smith's in-tight skills with the puck, while the report suggests that coach Claude Julien has noticed that the ex-Dallas winger has some jam. While the Bruins' third line has yet to be configured, don't be surprised if Smith eventually emerges as the right winger on that trio.

Stars' Smith Traded To Bruins

News: Reilly Smith was traded to the Bruins as part of a seven-player deal on Thursday, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: The 22-year-old right wing was back and forth between the AHL and NHL last season, ultimately appearing in 37 total NHL games where he scored three goals and had nine assists for the Stars. He provided consistent offensive production for the AHL's Texas Stars, and the Bruins are likely hoping he can translate these skills to the NHL and contribute offensively.

Stars' Smith Recalled

News: Reilly Smith was recalled from AHL Texas on Tuesday.
Analysis: The 22-year-old has been shuffled between the NHL and AHL all season. After Reilly Smith put up three goals and five assists in his last seven-game stint in the AHL, the Stars are looking for that production to translate to the NHL. He'll likely play Thursday against the Canucks.

Stars Send Smith To AHL

News: The Stars have sent Reilly Smith to AHL Texas, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Reilly Smith registered seven points, a minus-1 rating, and six penalty minutes in 31 games with Dallas this season. Despite a significant roster shake-up, his return to the NHL this season is likely, as the Stars recently dealt away veteran forwards Jaromir Jagr, Derek Roy and Brenden Morrow.
