Wild's Zucker Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery

News: Jason Zucker underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a tendon in his left quadriceps.
Analysis: As expected, Jason Zucker won't be available for the remainder of the season following the procedure, but should be ready to go for training camp. He finishes the 2013-14 season with five points and a plus-2 rating over 21 games.

Wild's Zucker Likely Out For Season

News: Jason Zucker (knee) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker apparently re-aggravated his knee injury after resuming skating last week, with GM Chuck Fletcher saying the forward's condition had "gone from something minor to [something] not." In light of the setback, the Wild will be more careful not to rush him through rehab. By doing so, Zucker probably won't be able to play again this season, but he should be at close to full health for training camp in the fall.

Wild's Zucker Begins Skating

News: Jason Zucker (lower body) has started skating on his own, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: There's no timetable for his return, but at least he's starting to make progress. He's been out since Feb. 6 with the injury.

Wild Move Zucker To IR

News: Jason Zucker (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: With Jason Zucker not available to play this week after doctors wouldn't give him the go-ahead to return after he underwent a minor procedure over the break, he'll move to injured reserve to free up some roster space. The IR stint will be retroactive to his most recent game to Zucker's most recent game on Feb. 6, so as soon as he's deemed healthy, he'll be able to return.

Wild's Zucker To Remain Off Ice For A Week

News: Jason Zucker (undisclosed) will remain off the ice for a week after he met with doctors Wednesday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: It hasn't been confirmed what exact ailment Jason Zucker is dealing with, but whatever the case may be, it will prevent him from playing when the Wild take the ice for their next game Feb. 27. A move to injured reserve could be in play to facilitate roster space.

Wild's Zucker Misses Practice

News: Jason Zucker, who had an undisclosed minor procedure during the Olympic break, did not practice Wednesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Wild's Zucker To Have Minor Surgery

News: Jason Zucker will use the Olympic break to undergo an undisclosed minor procedure, the Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker will presumably have a nagging injury tended to, and it's unclear whether he is in danger of missing time after the Olympic break. He's a healthy scratch sometimes but played in Minnesota's final three games leading into the break.

Wild's Zucker A Healthy Scratch

News: Jason Zucker was a healthy scratch in Tuesday's win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Jason Zucker was on the bench for a second consecutive game in favor of Mike Rupp as the Wild chose to go with a bigger lineup on the fourth line. It looks like Zucker could be headed back to the AHL when Mikko Koivu returns from an ankle injury following the Olympic break.

Wild's Zucker Moves To Fourth Line

News: Jason Zucker was moved to the fourth line in Thursday's win over Chicago with the return of Zach Parise from a foot injury, but still had a team-high three shots on goal.
Analysis: Jason Zucker's ice time (9:26) fell to below 10 minutes for the first time in 11 games, so his fantasy value will take a slight hit. However, he's been productive since called up from the AHL in early January with four goals in 11 games.

Wild's Zucker Finding More Twine Since Recall

News: Jason Zucker scored his fourth goal in eight games since being recalled in Thursday's win over Edmonton.
Analysis: He also went plus-2, the third time in four games that he's achieved that feat. Jason Zucker's gone plus-6 with the four goals, but no assists, since being recalled from AHL Iowa on New Year's Day. It's not huge production, but it's more than he managed in his stints with the big club earlier this year.

Wild's Zucker Needs Stitches For Leg Injury

News: Jason Zucker left Thursday's win over Phoenix in the third period after he sustained a cut above the right kneecap that required four stitches, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker was hit by a puck from a shot on goal by Shane Doan. He was walking after the game, so he likely won't miss any time.

Wild's Zucker Scores In First Game Back

News: Jason Zucker made a positive impression Thursday, scoring his first goal of the season in a win over Buffalo.
Analysis: He'd just been called up on Wednesday. Though Jason Zucker skated just 11 minutes and change, he bears monitoring as a successful scorer in college and the AHL (before this year).

Wild Recall Zucker

News: Jason Zucker was recalled from AHL Iowa on Wednesday, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker has regularly moved between the minors and the parent club, appearing in seven games for the Wild. He'll likely skate on the fourth line or serve as a healthy scratch most nights while he's up in Minnesota.

Wild Ship Zucker Out To Iowa

News: Jason Zucker was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Friday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The writing was on the wall for Jason Zucker's demotion after the forward was a healthy scratch for Thursday's loss to the Sharks. Erik Haula was recalled from Iowa in a corresponding move to take Zucker's spot on the 23-man roster.

Wild Recall Zucker

News: The Wild recalled Jason Zucker from AHL Iowa on Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Michael Russo reports.

Wild's Zucker Sent Down

News: Jason Zucker was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Wednesday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: In anticipation of Torrey Mitchell's return from a leg injury, the Wild sent Jason Zucker down to clear space on the active roster. The 21-year-old Zucker is likely better off with increased playing time in Iowa.

Wild Recall Zucker

News: The Wild recalled Jason Zucker from AHL Iowa on Wednesday.
Analysis: Jason Zucker will fill in for the injured Torrey Mitchell, but should be relegated to a depth forward role. He has four goals and four assists in 12 games with AHL Iowa this season, but failed to crack the score sheet in one game with the Wild earlier this year.

Wild Reassign Zucker

News: The Wild reassigned Jason Zucker to AHL Iowa on Wednesday.
Analysis: Jason Zucker will return to AHL Iowa after failing to crack the score sheet in one game with the Wild. He played 20 NHL games last season, recording four goals and an assist, and could be recalled again later in the season.

Wild Recall Zucker From AHL

News: Jason Zucker was recalled from AHL Iowa with Charlie Coyle out 3-4 weeks with a knee injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker will likely join the second line with Mikael Granlund and Dany Heatley. Zucker continued to have issues with a groin injury while in Iowa, but it looks like he's healthy enough to play in the NHL. Despite starting the year in the minors, he could have decent fantasy value on the second line.

Wild's Zucker Still Has Groin Injury

News: Jason Zucker missed practice for Iowa of the AHL as he continues to struggle with a groin injury he suffered in the preseason, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild have talked about frequently changing their roster with Iowa a quick trip from the Twin Cities, but it doesn't sound like Jason Zucker will be an option to be called up early in the season until he's fully healthy.

Wild's Zucker Assigned to AHL

News: Jason Zucker was reassigned to Iowa of the AHL, the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Michael Russo reports.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter have taken the Wild's final Opening Night roster spots, beating Jason Zucker out in the preseason competition. However, it's possible the Wild could shuffle their roster frequently early in the season with their AHL affiliate close enough to allow quick moves.

Wild's Zucker Falling Out Of Favor

News: Jason Zucker was on the ice for just 13 shifts and 10:23 of ice time in Wednesday's preseason game, and was mostly used on the fourth line. Head coach Mike Yeo "wasn't crazy" with Zucker's play after the game, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It looks like Jason Zucker is going to lose out on a role on a top-three line and possibly a roster spot as a result.

Wild's Zucker Scores Shootout Goal

News: Jason Zucker (groin) had three shots on goal and scored the winning marker in a shootout in Monday's preseason win over Columbus.
Analysis: Jason Zucker missed two preseason games with a groin injury, but it doesn't sound like a major issue. He's battling for a spot on a top-three line, but it looks like he'll make the final roster at this point in some capacity.

Wild's Zucker Returns To Practice

News: Jason Zucker (groin) returned to practice Sunday after missing two preseason games and says he's back to full strength, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker is in a crowded competition for a spot on a top-three line, so it's good he can get back on the ice. Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle and Zucker are among the leading candidates for Minnesota's open forward spots.
