Wild's Zucker Scores Game-Winner

News: Jason Zucker netted the game-winning goal Saturday against the Coyotes.
Analysis: The goal was Jason Zucker's 16th of the season and his first point in five games. The 23-year-old is currently playing on the top line with Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise, making him an appealing fantasy option. He's among the league's top-30 goal-scorers this season and has been credited with a solid 99 shots on goal. He won't post whooping overall point totals, but Zucker could reach 30 goals this season, making him worth a look in deeper formats.

Wild's Zucker A Smash Hit On Top Line

News: Jason Zucker bagged his 15th goal of the season and attempted five shots in Thursday's loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Jason Zucker has been stellar during his two-game trial on the top line in place of Zach Parise. He's now tallied three goals, an assist and 13 shots, allowing him to overtake Parise and Nino Niederreiter for the team goal lead. If he's still floating around on the waiver wire, Zucker is probably worth scooping up -- at least while he retains a cushy role on the top trio.

Zucker's Three Points Not Enough For Wild

News: Jason Zucker factored into all three Minnesota goals Tuesday, scoring two and notching the primary assist on Jared Spurgeon's tally, but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: Well, you can't blame Jason Zucker, who went plus-3 on the night and unleashed eight shots on goal (his second-highest total of the season) over nearly 19 minutes of ice time. An impressive way to bounce back from the minus-4 rating he posted in a disastrous loss to Dallas on Saturday.

Wild's Zucker On Track To Play Saturday

News: Jason Zucker (illness) is set to rejoin the lineup Saturday against the Stars, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker seemed on track to play Friday after taking part in line rushes at the team's morning skate, but coach Mike Yeo likely chose to keep him out with the team kicking off a back-to-back set. With more time off to recover following Saturday's contest, Zucker should be in line for his usual 15 minutes of ice time. The winger has bagged 12 goals in 32 games this season, good for third on the team.

Wild's Zucker (Illness) Out Friday

News: Jason Zucker (illness) will not play Friday against the Maple Leafs, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker's illness will hold him out of the lineup until at least Saturday's contest against the Stars. Tyler Graovac will draw into the lineup in his place, making his home debut for the Wild.

Wild's Zucker A Game-Time Decision Friday

News: Jason Zucker (illness) will be a game-time decision for Friday's tilt with the Maple Leafs, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Though Jason Zucker was able to take part in line rushes at the team's morning skate, coach Mike Yeo said the forward was "definitely an if" for Friday's game. He's logged only one practice in the eight days, so Yeo could opt to sit him out another contest to afford him more recovery time.

Wild's Zucker (Illness) Skating Thursday

News: Jason Zucker (illness) took part in Thursday's optional skate.
Analysis: Jason Zucker has missed the last three games, including Wednesday's matchup with Columbus, with a stomach virus, but his presence at Thursday's session indicates he could be set for a return Friday.

Wild's Zucker Prepared To Sit Again Wednesday

News: Jason Zucker (illness) is projected to miss Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo said Tuesday that Jason Zucker is still lacking energy while continuing to battle the illness. He's set to miss his third straight game with what is being classified as a stomach virus.

Analysis: He missed Saturday's game with a stomach ailment and it's not clear when he may return.

Wild's Zucker Out With Illness

News: Jason Zucker will miss Saturday's game against Winnipeg due to the flu, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: The Wild have been hit hard by both the mumps and stomach flu this season, but fortunately for Jason Zucker, it looks like he has the latter condition. It doesn't sound like a long-term ailment at this point, and he hasn't been ruled out from playing in Monday's rematch with the Jets.

Wild's Zucker Scores In Win

News: Jason Zucker notched a goal in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: The winger opened the scoring just 19 seconds into the first period, and now has 10 goals and three assists in 24 games this season. With five points in his last five games, he'll turn out to be a really valuable fantasy player if he can keep up his current pace.

Wild's Zucker Scores Again

News: Jason Zucker scored his ninth goal of the season in Friday's win over Dallas. He played despite skating with a charley horse, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker's surprising strong to the season just keeps going as it's his fifth goal in his last five games.

Wild's Zucker Snipes Two Monday

News: Jason Zucker potted a pair of goals -- his seventh and eighth of the season -- while skating to a plus-2 and firing a career-high nine shots on goal in Monday's 4-1 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Looking at the stat line, you'd think it was star winger Zach Parise firing that much rubber on net, not a third-liner in Jason Zucker. It's hard to imagine the fourth-year NHLer continuing to put pucks in the net at this rate, but the fact that he has more goals than teammates (and fantasy mainstays) Jason Pominville, Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu and Thomas Vanek shows that he's earned fantasy relevance this year.

Wild's Zucker Snaps Slump With Goal

News: Jason Zucker finally put an end to his eight-game scoring slump Thursday by potting the game-winning goal against the Flyers with 46 seconds remaining in the third period.
Analysis: Well, if you're only going to score once in the month of November -- his last point was an Oct. 30 assist -- you'd better at least make it a big goal. Jason Zucker did just that. He still occupies a fairly sizable role for Wild, so the points should come with a bit more frequency going forward.

Wild's Zucker Gets Assist In Second-Line Debut

News: Jason Zucker assisted on Marco Scandella's game-winning tally in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Bruins.
Analysis: Elevated from a bottom-six role to the Wild's second line with Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle, Jason Zucker saw a season-high 15:38 of ice time and certainly seemed to hold his own against a tough Bruins squad. While Zucker still hasn't received much of an opportunity on the power play, his increased minutes at even strength with higher quality linemates has his fantasy value clearly on the rise.

Wild's Zucker Bags Another

News: Jason Zucker tallied his fifth goal of the season in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Three of Jason Zucker's tallies have come in the last two games, allowing him to claim the team lead in that category for the season. It's a pretty remarkable feat, given Zucker's standing in the Wild's bottom six, a role that he may not have much longer if he continues to produce this well in limited minutes. Rather than moving him up a line or two, the Wild may be more interested in first giving Zucker more run on their power play, which is currently tied with the Sabres for dead last in the NHL.

Zucker A Wild Man With Two Goals

News: Jason Zucker scored two goals in Minnesota's 7-2 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday night. One of those goals came while short-handed.
Analysis: He's on his way to a Cy Young season with four goals and no assists in six games. More importantly, he has now equaled his career mark of four goals in a season.

Wild's Zucker Scores Again

News: Jason Zucker had his second goal of the season in 7:49 of ice time in Friday's loss to Anaheim.
Analysis: Jason Zucker is getting less than ten minutes of ice time per game on the fourth line, but he's made the most of it so far with two goals in three games.

Wild's Zucker Scores Goal

News: Jason Zucker had a goal on two shots in 9:41 of ice time in Saturday's win over Colorado.
Analysis: A strong game for Jason Zucker, but his upside is limited because he won't get a ton of ice time on the fourth line.

Wild's Zucker Back To Full Speed

News: Jason Zucker had an assist in 21 minutes of ice time in Monday's preseason loss to Winnipeg.

Wild Re-Signs Zucker (Quad) To Two-Year Deal

News: Jason Zucker (quad) signed a two-year deal with the Wild on Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: A quad issue limited Jason Zucker to 21 games for the Wild last season, during which he notched four goals and one assist, in addition to two penalty minutes. He underwent surgery in March to repair the injury and is expected to be at full strength for training camp.

Wild's Zucker Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery

News: Jason Zucker underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a tendon in his left quadriceps.
Analysis: As expected, Jason Zucker won't be available for the remainder of the season following the procedure, but should be ready to go for training camp. He finishes the 2013-14 season with five points and a plus-2 rating over 21 games.

Wild's Zucker Likely Out For Season

News: Jason Zucker (knee) is expected to miss the rest of the season, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jason Zucker apparently re-aggravated his knee injury after resuming skating last week, with GM Chuck Fletcher saying the forward's condition had "gone from something minor to [something] not." In light of the setback, the Wild will be more careful not to rush him through rehab. By doing so, Zucker probably won't be able to play again this season, but he should be at close to full health for training camp in the fall.

Wild's Zucker Begins Skating

News: Jason Zucker (lower body) has started skating on his own, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: There's no timetable for his return, but at least he's starting to make progress. He's been out since Feb. 6 with the injury.
