Robitaille nets two points, plus-2

News: Senators C Randy Robitaille scored a goal and added an assist during Thursday's game against the Lightning. He also finished at plus-2. Robitaille scored on a tip-in at 1:39 of the third period. It was his second goal in five games and his second assist in three games. It was his fourth multi-point game of the season.
Analysis: Robitaille can be found on either one of the Senators' top two lines while Dany Heatley is out with a shoulder injury. He hasn't been a great offensive force all season, so until he really starts rolling, consider him a low-end Fantasy option.

Robitaille is no Heatley

News: Senators C Randy Robitaille tallied an assist and finished at even during Sunday's game against the Flyers. He now has just one goal and one assist in his last six games.
Analysis: Robitaille is skating on the top line with Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson now that Dany Heatley is on injured reserve, but if he doesn't pick up his scoring pace, don't be surprised if he gets bumped from the top line soon. He is still a low-end Fantasy flier.

Analysis: Robitaille (flu) returned to action Friday against the Sabres after missing Tuesday's game against the Capitals. Robitaille does have four points (2 G, 2 A) in his last four games, but is merely a low-end Fantasy flier at this time.

Robitaille scores twice, injured

News: Randy Robitaille scored his first two goals for Ottawa before leaving with an injury in the Senators' 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday. Robitaille, signed as a free agent earlier this month, scored twice to stake Ottawa to a 2-0 lead early in the second period, but was hit by Thrashers defenseman Garnet Exelby and didn't return. A team spokesman said he suffered facial contusions and it wasn't known if he would miss any more time.
Analysis: Robitaille was playing on the Senators' top line along with Daniel Alfredsson and Dany Heatley as a result of a groin injury to Jason Spezza, who is also day-to-day. It didn't take Robitaille long to make the most of the opportunity. At the 1:48 mark of the first period, the journeyman center, signed as a free agent on Oct. 16, took a pass from Alfredsson and beat Johan Hedberg with a low shot for his first goal as a Senator and first since March 24, while with the New York Islanders. Robitaille won't be skating on the top line when Spezza returns and is nothing more than a low-end Fantasy flier. He is day-to-day.
