Wild's Clark Likely To Play Saturday

News: Brett Clark will likely make his Wild debut Saturday against the Kings, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It sounds like Brett Clark has worked himself into the lineup after signing with the team more than two weeks ago. The 36-year-old put up 15 points (2G, 13A) in 82 games with the Lightning last season, but also a minus-26 rating.

Wild's Clark Won't Play Thursday

News: Brett Clark will stay in the NHL after signing with the Wild, but won't play Thursday as he'll need to participate in a few practices before he's active, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With Brett Clark on the roster, Justin Falk and Nate Prosser will likely see less playing time and may even be sent to the AHL.

Wild's Clark Signs With Wild

News: Brett Clark signed a one-year contract with the Wild, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brett Clark had 16 assists in 18 games for AHL Oklahoma City. The Wild likely signed him to be on the NHL roster, so Justin Falk or Nate Prosser could be sent to the AHL or traded.

Clark Could Sign With Wild

News: The Minnesota Wild are reportedly very interested in signing Brett Clark, the Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brett Clark has played in 18 games this season for the AHL's Oklahoma City and has recorded a total of 17 points (one goal, 16 assists).

Bolts' Clark: Increased Defensive Role?

News: Brett Clark has two points in his last three games but only eight in 37 this season.
Analysis: His plus-minus also stands at minus-11. His best offensive work is a thing of the past and his defensive workload will go up short term while Victor Hedman is out with a concussion. His only value lies in the very deepest of leagues.

Goal, Assist for Lightning's Clark

News: Brett Clark had a goal and an assist Monday versus Washington.
Analysis: Brett Clark played quite well last season in his first year in Tampa Bay. Can he build on that? He's 34, so he is probably on the downside of his career, but he still has enough to contribute to your fantasy team as a backup blueliner. His fantasy value this season will likely peak over the next six weeks while Mattias Ohlund recovers from knee surgeries.

Bolts' Clark: Limited Fantasy Value

News: Brett Clark will be counted on more for reliability than points this season.
Analysis: He's not a huge scorer but he has delivered in the past when needed. But the Bolts have Marc-Andre Bergeron and Eric Brewer experimenting on the PP, and Pavel Kubina showing he still has some points in that old stick. And of course, there's Victor Hedman, stud of the future, on the blue line as well. Brett Clark is nothing more than a waiver fill-in this year.

Clark Tallies As Tampa Bay Wins In Boston

News: Clark broke out of his postseason scoreless funk with a goal and an assist Saturday as the Lightning seized Game 1 of their thrid-round series in Boston.
Analysis: We hardly need to tell you not to get excited about these two points; there are better fantasy options at the blue line as the playoffs unfold.

Bolts' Clark: Two-Point Night

News: Clark set up two goals and finished at plus-4 in Monday's win over the Leafs.
Analysis: He has three points in his last four games but just four in his last 15. He's a tough activation because of his inconsistency.

Lightning's Clark Receives Interest From 'Hawks

News: Clark is drawing some interest from the Blackhawks as Chicago is looking for a defenseman for the playoff push, reports the Daily Herald.
Analysis: Tampa Bay appears to want a forward in return. As of Thursday, Clark is averaging 19 minutes a night in Tampa and has 8 goals, 15 assists and is minus-1.

Bolts' Clark Still Suffering

News: Clark blocked a shot "where it hurts" late in Monday's game and while he has been able to play since, he is "still pretty sore," reports the St. Petersburg Times.
Analysis: He took a shot from Sergei Samsonov and went to hospital after the game where no damage was revealed. "It's one of those areas you can't really mess with," he said before Wednesday's game. "It's going to take some time." He sure wasn't hindered by in against the Isles. Get out the ice bag, Brett.

Bolts' Clark Gaining Value

News: Clark tallied a power-play assist in Wednesday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: His points have come in fits and spurts but he's actually chugging along at a pace similar to his offensive years in Colorado. His sporadic output makes him a challenging own in head-to-head leagues but he does have value in deep standard leagues, particularly if he continues to produce on the power play. To this point, 11 of his 15 points have come with the man advantage.

Bolts' Clark: Two-Point Night

News: Clark scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's win over Carolina. The assist came on the power play.
Analysis: He's been hit and miss with offense lately; he has just three points in his last eight games.

Clark Productive on Bolts' PP

News: Clark tallied a power-play goal Wednesday night.
Analysis: Eight of his 10 points this season come on the power play -- he sure does optimize his output when he gets points. He has five points, including four on the PP, in his last six games -- that's fantasy worthy.

Clark Helping Bolts' Power Play

News: Clark scored a power-play goal in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.
Analysis: He has power-play points in back-to-back games. He seems to bring offense in short bursts; he's worth activating right now to take advantage.

Lightnings' Clark Plays Wednesday

News: Clark (wrist) played Wednesday despite being limited at practice Tuesday.
Analysis: Clark logged 22 minutes of ice time and recorded a minus-one rating. Clark is off to a solid start to the season with four points in nine games.

Lightning's Clark Limited at Tuesday's Practice

News: Clark (wrist) was limited at Tuesday's practice, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Clark wore the red "injury" jersey so that he could avoid any unnecessary contact. It remains to be seen if Clark will be able to play in Wednesday's game against the Penguins.

Lightning's Clark Dealing With Wrist Injury

News: Clark did not take part in Monday's practice due to a wrist contusion, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Clark's status for Wednesday's game against the Penguins has yet to be determined.

Bolts Try Clark on PP

News: Clark scored a power-play goal Wednesday in the Lightning's OT win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: Once upon a time way back in his Colorado days, Clark had back-to-back seasons of 36 and 39 points, including solid production with the man advantage. It appears as though he has stepped up to be the second man-advantage option on the blue line for the Bolts. And that gives him some surprise fantasy value early this season.

Clark joins Tampa Bay blue line

News: The Lightning signed free-agent defenseman Brett Clark to a two-year contract on Monday. Clark played the last five seasons with the Avalanche. He had three goals and 20 points in 64 games in 2009-10.
Analysis: Clark posted 30-plus points in his first two seasons with the Avalanche, but the last three were marred by injuries and recovery time. He gets a fresh start with Tampa Bay and joins an explosive offensive unit. Perhaps Clark can get back to being a 30-point player in Tampa Bay, but he will be an injury-risk Fantasy sleeper on Draft Day.

B. Clark scores third goal of season

News: Avalanche D Brett Clark scored his third goal of the season in Wednesday's win over the Thrashers.
Analysis: Clark has already eclipsed his 12-point total from last season, but with just 16 points, he's got a lot of work to to if he wants to get into the high-30s like he did in his first two full seasons with Colorado. Continue to ignore him in all but the deepest of leagues for now.

B. Clark returns to action Saturday

News: Avalanche D Brett Clark (cheekbone) returned to action Saturday in a win over the Devils. H did not pick up a point.
Analysis: Clark isn't producing like a man seeking a contract after this season, and remains just a flier in deeper formats.

Clark ends up on injured reserve

News: The Avalanche have placed Brett Clark on injured reserve retroactive active to Jan. 3 because of a cheekbone injury.
Analysis: Clark has three assists in his last seven games. His production has dipped each month after totaling six points in October. This injury just adds the icing to the cake. Clark is in a walk year and has a lot to play for in the second half, but he remains a low-end Fantasy flier when healthy.

Clark has minor procedure on face

News: The Denver Post reports Avalanche D Brett Clark is going to have a minor procedure on his bruised cheekbone, which he suffered on Saturday against Ottawa after taking a puck to the face. He is expected to miss a few days and he will wear a protective shield upon returning. Clark, who has been scratched for Wednesday's game against the Islanders, is expected to wear the shield for a month or longer.

Clark dealing with eye problem

News: Avalanche D Brett Clark missed Saturday's win over the Blue Jackets after being hit in the face by a puck during Thursday's loss to Detroit.
Analysis: With his 13 points, Clark has already surpassed his 12 points from last season but is still just a low-end blue-liner in deeper leagues.
