Canadiens could offer Lang tryout

Analysis: There has been some speculation that Lang could play over in the KHL (Russia), but he seems content to stick around the NHL. The veteran center was doing quite well for the Canadiens in '08-09 before going down with the season-ending injury. He was one of the Habs' leading scorers and still ended the season sixth on the team in points (39). Continue to track Lang's offseason progress before taking a flier on him Draft Day because if he does leave for Russia he becomes obsolete in Fantasy.

Lang continues rehab process

Analysis: Lang was a huge pickup for the Habs in a trade with Chicago before the start of the season. He was one of the Habs' leading scorers before exiting the lineup and still ended the season sixth on the team in points (39). Lang is set to become a free agent July 1 and it's going to be interesting to see what type of interest the 38-year-old forward draws coming off major surgery. Continue to track Lang's offseason progress before taking a flier on him Draft Day.

Lang might make playoff appearance

News: The Sports Xchange reports Canadiens C Robert Lang, who suffered a torn Achilles' tendon when the back of his leg was cut by a skate in the third period of the Feb. 1 game against Boston, won't return in the regular season. However, there's an outside chance he could return if the Canadiens go deep in the playoffs.
Analysis: Lang was the Canadiens' leading scorer (18 goals) at the time of his injury and was a real solid force up the middle of the ice after being picked up in a preseason trade with Chicago. Lang will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, so he surely wants to make it back for the playoffs to gain some more value before the free agency frenzy begins. Track Lang's offseason progress before taking a flier on him Draft Day 2009. It appears he will be an injury-risk sleeper coming off a major ailment.
