Armstrong scores rare goal Thursday

News: Kings C Derek Armstrong scored his team's only goal during a 2-1 loss to the Coyotes Thursday. Los Angeles opened the scoring late in the first period with some help from the Coyotes' defense. David Hale was checked off the puck behind the Phoenix net, and Keith Yandle tried to clear the puck with a backhand swipe. But his pass went to Armstrong between the circles and the center slid the puck between Al Montoya's pads. "It just ended up on my stick," Armstrong said. "I closed my eyes, shot it and it goes in."
Analysis: Armstrong has two of his nine points in the last two games. He has a career-worst minus-11 rating this season and his offensive production has really dipped in his first season under Terry Murray. Armstrong has little to no Fantasy value.

Armstrong has rare point Tuesday

News: Kings C Derek Armstrong scored a goal and finished at plus-1 in 6:18 of ice time Tuesday against the Wild. Armstrong had his third goal and second in four games when he tipped the puck past Nicklas Backstrom 15:54 into the second period.

He was a decent offensive player for the Kings for many seasons, but that has all changed under Murray and Armstrong has little to no Fantasy value.
