Panthers' Luongo: 35 Saves In Loss

News: Roberto Luongo made 35 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The move to Florida certainly hasn't hurt Bobby Lou's numbers -- his GAA and save percentage are virtually the same as they were in Vancouver. Next year should be a solid year for him given the ownership's stated desire to increase spending to be competitive. File that away.

Panthers' Luongo Starting Saturday

News: Roberto Luongo will be in net for the Panthers on Saturday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo will close out the season in net for the Panthers on Saturday. The netminder has a long contract left, so he will likely be between the pipes for Florida for the 2014-15 season as well.

Panthers' Luongo Saves 27 In Win

News: Roberto Luongo only let up two goals on 29 shots in Thursday night's 4-2 win over the Leafs.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo was a late scratch on Tuesday, but the injury was just muscular soreness. He was in vintage form on Thursday as he earned the victory against the hapless Buds -- his fifth straight game allowing two or fewer goals. With one game remaining, Luongo has a .919 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA.

Panthers' Luongo To Play Thursday

News: Roberto Luongo (upper body) will be back in the net Thursday against the Maple Leafs, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: It appears the injury that resulted in Roberto Luongo being a late scratch Tuesday was minor, so he'll take the ice for his 13th start with the Panthers. Luongo has done well to keep his overall numbers steady despite the downgrade in team context in moving from Vancouver to Florida. He's posted a 5-6-1 record, 2.45 GAA and .923 save percentage with the Panthers.

Panthers' Luongo Not Dealing With Serious Injury

News: Coach Pete Horachek said after Tuesday's game that Roberto Luongo's upper-body injury was just muscular soreness and isn't considered serious, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo was a surprise late scratch with the injury Tuesday night, but it doesn't sound like the Panthers will shut him down for the rest of the season just yet. With an off day Wednesday, he could be good to go for Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Panthers Scratch Luongo With Upper-Body Injury

News: Roberto Luongo was scratched from Tuesday's start against the Flyers with an upper-body injury, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly reports.
Analysis: The upper-body designation opens the door for a multitude of injuries for Roberto Luongo, including the possibility of a recurrence of the concussion symptoms that sidelined him less than a week earlier. Look for the Panthers to provide a more concrete update on his status after the game.

Panthers Will Not Start Luongo

News: Despite confirming earlier in the day that Roberto Luongo would start Tuesday's game against the Flyers, the Panthers will instead go with Dan Ellis in goal, Erin Brown of FOX Sports Florida reports.
Analysis: There was no indication at the team's morning skate that Roberto Luongo would be out Tuesday, but coach Pete Horachek opted to make a last-minute change in goal. There's no word yet on whether Luongo's absence from the lineup is injury-related, but we'll provide an update if that turns out to be the case.

Panthers Turn To Luongo On Tuesday

News: Roberto Luongo is slated to start Tuesday's game against the Flyers, Steve Goldstein of FOX Sports Florida reports.
Analysis: As the regular season winds down, Roberto Luongo and the Panthers will continue to try to play a spoiler role Tuesday, this time against a Flyers squad that can clinch a playoff spot with a win in the contest, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Panthers' Luongo Stops 35 In Win

News: Roberto Luongo stopped 35 of 37 shots in Sunday evening's 3-2 win over the Stars.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo gave up goals early in both the first and second periods, but he looked comfortable the rest of the way in the winning effort. Luongo is now 5-6-1 with the Panthers, while posting a 2.50 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Panthers' Luongo Gets Sunday Start

News: Roberto Luongo will start Sunday's game against the Stars, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo, who will square off against the Stars' Kari Lehtonen on Sunday, will be making his second straight start for the Panthers, with whom he has recorded a 2.50 GAA and .921 save percentage in 11 starts with the team, en route to a 4-6-1 mark in that span.

Panthers' Luongo Likely Sunday Starter

News: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel suggests that Roberto Luongo is likely to start Sunday's game against the Stars.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo, who returned to action in Friday's loss to the Flames after missing time with a concussion, thus appears on track to make his second straight start Sunday against the Stars, who are coming off a 5-2 win over the Lightning on Saturday.

Luongo, Panthers Fall Friday

News: Roberto Luongo allowed two goals on 17 shots in Friday's loss to Calgary, his first start since missing three games due to a minor concussion.
Analysis: Friday was not one of Roberto Luongo's better efforts considering the Panthers outshot Calgary more than 2-to-1. While Luongo is the undisputed starter in Florida, there are going to be nights like Friday where the Panthers do everything to earn a win, but come up short.

Panthers' Luongo Starting Friday

News: Roberto Luongo (concussion) will start Friday's game against the Flames, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo missed a few games with a mild concussion, but he should be fine Friday. Dan Ellis will serve as the No. 2, with Scott Clemmensen likely headed to the AHL soon.

Panthers' Luongo Likely To Start Friday

News: Roberto Luongo was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate Friday morning and will likely start at night against the Flames, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo has missed the past few of starts with a mild concussion, but should start the last five games for the Cats. Friday night's game against the lowly Flames should help ease him back into action.

Panthers' Luongo Could Play Friday

News: Roberto Luongo, who was diagnosed with a slight concussion last week, could be available Friday against the Flames, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo was on the ice for practice Thursday and said his concussion symptoms have dissipated, but coach Pete Horachek could still opt to give him some additional rest Friday. He's missed the last three games.

Panthers' Luongo Will Not Travel On Road Trip

News: Roberto Luongo will not travel with the club on their two-game road trip to New Jersey and Long Island, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Panthers are taking precautionary measures with the Roberto Luongo and he should be okay to return to the net after the trip. Dan Ellis and Scott Clemmensen will likely split the starting duties in the meantime.

Panthers' Luongo Exits Early, But Tagged With Loss

News: Roberto Luongo was credited with the loss Thursday against the Hurricanes despite leaving the game in the first period with an upper-body injury.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo was removed from the game for precautionary reasons and is questionable to play Saturday against Montreal.

Panthers' Luongo Dealing With Minor Injury

News: Roberto Luongo suffered an upper-body injury, and his removal from Thursday's game was for precautionary reasons.
Analysis: It sounds like Roberto Luongo will just be day-to-day, but that still leaves his availability in question for Saturday's game against the Habs. With the Panthers far out of the playoff chase and Luongo having started seven of the previous eight games, the team has no good reason to rush him back.

Panthers' Luongo Suffers Undisclosed Injury

News: Roberto Luongo exited Thursday's game against the Hurricanes after the first period due to an undisclosed injury, Erin Brown of FOX Sports Florida reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo surrendered one goal on 12 shots in the first period, and he left the game in favor of Dan Ellis with the Panthers trailing 1-0. More information may be available after the game, as the nature of Luongo's injury was not initially disclosed.

Panthers' Luongo Starting Thursday

News: Roberto Luongo was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and will receive the start Thursday against the Hurricanes, NHL.com's Alain Poupart reports.
Analysis: Goalie Bob has predictably seen his win totals decline since heading back to Florida, but his GAA (2.53) and save percentage (.923) have held strong in his nine outings. Like the Panthers, the Hurricanes have fallen out of the playoff race at this point, creating a decent chance for Roberto Luongo to push his record with Florida above .500.

Panthers Go With Luongo On Tuesday

News: Roberto Luongo will draw Tuesday's start against the Senators, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo has dropped three of his last four decisions, but Tuesday's outing against the Senators will represent a good opportunity for him to get back on track. The Senators are 2-6-2 over their last 10 contests and are expected to counter in goal with backup Robin Lehner, who has struggled in full-time duty in place of the injured Craig Anderson.

Panthers' Luongo Earns Win In Shootout

News: Roberto Luongo stopped 37 of 39 shots and two of three attempts in the shootout to earn a 3-2 victory Tuesday night against Ottawa.
Analysis: Roberto Luongo earned first-star honors for his effort and is now 4-4-1 in his second go-around with the Cats -- a rather disappointing record, considering he's posted a .923 save mark since being dealt back to Florida.

Luongo Makes 25 Saves In Panthers' Loss

News: Roberto Luongo made 25 saves in a 4-0 loss to Dallas on Saturday night.
Analysis: Too bad he can't score -- his mates were stymied by Jonathan Quick at the other end of the ice. He's now 3-4-2 with a kitty on his chest.

Panthers Roll With Luongo On Saturday

News: Roberto Luongo will draw the start in goal Saturday against the Kings, Steve Goldstein of FOX Sports Florida reports.
Analysis: Despite the downgrade in team context with the move from Vancouver to Florida, Roberto Luongo has actually improved his save percentage through seven starts, while his GAA has held rather steady. He turned in his best performance as a Panther on Tuesday in San Jose, holding the Sharks to only two goals on a whopping 54 shot attempts. He may need to perform in a similar fashion to take down the Kings on the road.

Panthers' Luongo Outdueled In Phoenix

News: Two days after a 52-save victory in San Jose, Roberto Luongo faced just 22 shots in Phoenix on Thursday, but took a 3-2 loss.
Analysis: Well, he allowed the same number of goals as in the last game -- just with 32 fewer saves. Nonetheless, Roberto Luongo's looked quite strong since the Canucks sent him to Florida, with a .926 save percentage despite a mediocre 3-3-1 record.
