Jets' Trouba Out Until February

News: Head coach Paul Maurice announced Tuesday that Jacob Trouba will be sidelined until February due to an upper-body injury.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba's injury appeared minor when it was revealed Monday, but it turns out his setback is more significant than originally thought, even though details remain uncertain. Trouba had been playing well of late -- including a stretch where he had nine points in eight games -- but fantasy owners will have to look for anther defenseman to take his place for the next several weeks. He's the third top-four defenseman to succumb to a significant injury in the span of two weeks.

Jets' Trouba Day-To-Day

News: Jacob Trouba (undisclosed) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Sabres, Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: There's no word on what's ailing the blueliner, but he should be able to work through the issue before Tuesday's game. Keep an eye out for an update on his status after Tuesday's morning skate.

Jets' Trouba Stays Hot With Two Points

News: Jacob Trouba added a pair of points, scoring a goal on one of his four shots and dishing out a helper in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba's rounding into form after a slow start with five points in his last three games and nine in his last eight. The 20-year-old now has 12 points on the season, and should be considered as a fantasy option on the blue line.

Jets' Trouba Explodes For Three Points

News: Jacob Trouba exploded for a goal, two assists and five shots on goal in Wednesday's victory over the Oilers.
Analysis: The 20-year-old was one of the bigger fantasy disappointments over the season's first two months, but he's finally beginning to reward his owners for their patience. Wednesday's performance was his best of the season, and gives him a total of six points over his last four games. Now that he seems to be finding his scoring touch, Jacob Trouba is worth picking up in just about any format if he was dumped earlier in the season.

Jets' Trouba Notches Two Helpers

News: Jacob Trouba picked up a pair of assists on Evander Kane power-play goals -- the second an empty-netter -- in Tuesday's win over Columbus.
Analysis: It's not exactly front-page news, but Jacob Trouba does have three points over the last three games after totaling just three over his first 20 contests of the year. He's had a little bit of bad puck luck, but remains superbly talented and is skating major minutes -- 24:11 on Tuesday -- for the Jets.

Jets' Trouba Scores In Loss

News: Jacob Trouba scored his second goal of the year and added four PIM in Thursday's shootout loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: A nice fantasy stat line, but this was not Jacob Trouba's finest game on real ice, as he was charged with three giveaways, no takeaways and a double minor for roughing. With just three points in 14 games so far, his sophomore campaign is off to a slow start, well short of last year's pace.

Jets' Trouba Finally Gets Point

News: Jacob Trouba tallied his first point of the season -- a second-period goal -- in Tuesday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: Big things were expected from Jacob Trouba heading into the campaign after he compiled 29 points in 65 games for the Jets as a 19-year-old, but he's been a disappointment to date. The lack of production hasn't been a huge drain to his plus/minus rating, but he'll need to begin showing more involvement offensively in order to justify a roster spot in shallower leagues.

Jets' Trouba Dealing With Neck Strain

News: Jacob Trouba's early exit from the U.S. Men's National Team during the 2014 IIHF World Championships was related to a neck strain, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: On a positive note, the U.S. team did say that Jacob Trouba was being held out of the rest of the tournament for precautionary reasons, so it doesn't sound like the neck strain will be something that will limit his preparation for training camp. Trouba had a solid rookie season with 29 points and a plus-4 rating in 65 games, and will be counted on to assume an even greater role offensively in his second season.

Jets' Trouba Leaves World Championships

News: Jacob Trouba has left the U.S. Men's National Team to return home for precautionary reasons.
Analysis: After suffering an injury in the Jets' final regular season game, Jacob Trouba was believed to be fully healthy for the 2014 IIHF World Championships, but it seems he may have suffered some sort of injury scare. The defenseman contributed two goals and an assist over four games for the U.S. team.

Jets' Trouba To Play In World Championships

News: Jacob Trouba (face) will play for Team USA in the 2014 IHHF World Championships in May.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba's presence on the United States roster suggests the Jets have no worries about him healing up quickly from the shot to the face he took in Friday's season finale against the Flames. He cemented himself as one of the game's better fantasy defensemen as a rookie, totaling 10 goals, 19 assists, 95 hits and 132 blocked shots over 65 games.

Jets' Trouba Leaves With Injury

News: Jacob Trouba left Friday's game against the Flames after taking a puck to the face and will not return.
Analysis: The injury occurred when the Flames' Paul Byron attempted a slap shot that deflected off Jacob Trouba's stick and into his face. Friday was the season finale for the Jets, so fantasy players won't have to worry about Trouba's availability moving forward. He'll have all offseason to heal up from the ailment and reflect upon a productive rookie season. Trouba finished with 10 goals and 19 assists over 65 games.

Jets' Rookie Trouba Gets 10th Goal Of Season

News: Jacob Trouba recorded his 10th goal of the season in Saturday's win over Toronto. The rookie has 28 points in 62 games this season.
Analysis: That's a mighty fine total for a rookie defender whose strong play has resulted in whispers that he might be the team's best on the back end. His sophomore season will be challenging (they always are). But his guy is fantasy gold and will be among the league's best fantasy producers at his position.

Jets' Trouba Warming Up Again

News: Jacob Trouba picked up an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba has points in three of his last five games after going a long stretch without one. He's possibly the best young talent on the Jets and is worth a flyer down the stretch for fantasy owners.

Jets' Trouba Snaps Goalless Streak Sunday

News: Jacob Trouba opened the scoring in Sunday's 7-2 beatdown of the Stars with his eighth goal of the season.
Analysis: The tally snapped an 18-game goalless skid for Jacob Trouba, whose production has declined considerably since mid-January. While his future remains bright, such scoring droughts are common for young defenseman to endure in their first few seasons. Fantasy owners will hope that his goal Sunday sparks some renewed production from the 20-year-old.

Jets' Trouba On A Hot Streak

News: Jacob Trouba picked up an assist in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba has nine points in his last 10 games. That's good for a forward, much less a defensemen. Though he's young, it seems he's supplanted Tobias Enstrom as the team's playmaking blueliner. Fantasy owners should take note of his progress for both the immediate and distant future.

Jets' Trouba Notches Two Helpers

News: Jacob Trouba picked up two assists to go with a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Nashville.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba has been held without a point in more than two games straight just once in January. He's matured as the year has progressed and that could mean big time second half dividends for fantasy owners who drafted the youngster.

Jets' Trouba Comes Up Huge In Saturday Win

News: Jacob Trouba scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime to dispatch the Oilers by a 3-2 count Saturday.
Analysis: While the second goal ended up being the more pivotal of his two scores, Jacob Trouba's tally five minutes into the third period may have been most impressive, as it came short-handed. Despite missing over a month earlier in the season with a neck injury, Trouba's eight goals still put him in the top 15 of all NHL defensemen. The rookie is already showing potential to be an upper-tier player at his position and could make for an interesting keeper choice in dynasty leagues.

Jets' Trouba Finds Net Against Penguins

News: Jacob Trouba scored his fourth goal of the season in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba now has points in five of his last six games. He's perhaps the most promising young player on the Jets' roster alongside Mark Scheifele. He's a year or two away from being a fantasy stud but he may be worth monitoring right now in deeper leagues.

Trouba Extends Point Streak In Jets' Loss

News: Jacob Trouba picked up an assist in a 4-3 loss to Ottawa on Thursday.
Analysis: That's four points (one goal) in as many games for the young defenseman. While most owners would love to see the TOI continually eclipse 25 minutes a game, it's tough to knock a guy who has nearly doubled his season (and career) totals in just over a week.

Jets' Trouba Spectacular In Win

News: Jacob Trouba picked up an assist and went plus-4 in Friday's 6-4 win over the Wild.
Analysis: He also finished the game with four shots on goal, three hits and 24:49 of ice time. After returning from a neck injury in late November, Jacob Trouba now has seven points in 12 games in the month of December. The 19-year-old rookie is an elite fantasy hockey defenseman in the making.

Jets' Trouba Scores Second Career Goal

News: Jacob Trouba managed a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba also finished with a plus-1 rating in the game. He now has six points in the month of December after managing just two during the rest of the season. It is clear he's more consistent and he's outplaying teammate Tobias Enstrom offensively these days. That's definitely something that fantasy owners should think about moving forward.

Jets' Trouba Has Goal, Assist During Friday's Win

News: Jacob Trouba scored a goal and assisted on another during the Jets' win over the Panthers on Friday.
Analysis: The defenseman scored his second goal of the season midway through the first period to tie the game and then assisted on another late in the period as the Jets jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead before the first intermission. He now has two goals and six assists on the season.

Jets' Trouba Notches Two Assists

News: Jacob Trouba had two assists Monday versus the Rangers.
Analysis: These are Jacob Trouba's first points in his four games since returning from injury. He only has four points in 12 games, and he only has 18 shots on goal. The young defenseman is considered a good prospect, but he's clearly not ready to really contribute yet.

Jets Activate Trouba From IR

News: Jacob Trouba (neck) was activated from injured reserve by the Jets on Monday.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba was originally considered a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Devils, but with his activation from IR, it appears he's ready to go. It will be the first game action for Trouba since Oct. 18.

Jets' Trouba To Be Game-Time Call Monday

News: Jacob Trouba (neck) will be a game-time decision Monday against the Devils, Rick Ralph of TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Jacob Trouba has been on the shelf for more than a month with the neck sprain, but he was recently cleared for contact and it sounds like he has a chance to return Monday. The 19-year-old defenseman averaged more than 21 minutes in his first eight games of the season, but had just two points (1G, 1A) and two penalty minutes.
