Sharks Re-Sign Tennyson To Two-Year Deal

News: The Sharks signed Matt Tennyson to a two-year, two-way contract extension on Thursday.
Analysis: Matt Tennyson made his NHL debut last season, appearing in four games with the Sharks. He spent the rest of the year playing with AHL Worcester where he had seven goals, 14 assists, and 33 penalty minutes through 54 games. Tennyson has a strong shot at making the team out of camp this year.

Tennyson Gets Qualifying Offer From Sharks

News: Matt Tennyson was one of six RFA Sharks to receive a qualifying offer on Monday.
Analysis: Matt Tennyson, who made his NHL debut last season, sits on the precipice of an expanded role. He was called up a number of times last season, but only logged four games. However, with some form of rebuild underway in San Jose, Tennyson could be one of a handful of young players given some space to develop. He shouldn't be considered a good bet for fantasy, but he may be worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses.

Sharks Reassign Tennyson

News: The Sharks reassigned Matt Tennyson to AHL Worcester on Monday.
Analysis: The blueliner didn't appear in any games with the Sharks during his most recent NHL stint, and will return to Worcester, where he collected five goals and 11 assists in 44 games before being recalled. His demotion will make room on the roster for the team to activate Brad Stuart, who will return from an upper-body injury Monday.

Tennyson Recalled By Sharks

Tennyson Recalled By Sharks

News: With the injury to Jason Demers, Matt Tennyson has been called up and will join the Sharks in Philadelphia, according to CSN Bay Area.
Analysis: This is Matt Tennyson's second trip to the NHL this season, but he still hasn't played a game this year. It's not clear if he'll get the go-ahead on Monday, as Scott Hannan has returned from injury and is higher on the depth chart.

Sharks' Tennyson Sent Down

News: Matt Tennyson was re-assigned to AHL Worcester on Sunday.
Analysis: The 23-year-old blueliner was recalled back on Jan. 9 but did not see the ice at all during his 10 days with the NHL club. Matt Tennyson could get another chance with San Jose down the road, but will likely remain in Worcester for the most part. He has 10 points (2G, 8A) and a minus-12 rating in 31 AHL games so far this season.

Sharks Recall Tennyson

News: Matt Tennyson was recalled from AHL Worcester on Thursday.
Analysis: The defenseman had 10 points and 23 penalty minutes over 31 games for Worcester. He'll give the Sharks an extra skater after Logan Couture (hand) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Sharks Cut Tennyson

News: Matt Tennyson has been cut by the Sharks and sent to AHL Worcester.
Analysis: Matt Tennyson, who played four games last season, garnering two assists, was a dark horse to make the team. That's clearly not happening, but he'll be on Coach Todd McLellan's shortlist of D-men to get the call during the season. That said, he's got a lot to prove before he should be added to your fantasy roster.

Sharks' Tennyson Has Assist In Win

News: Matt Tennyson had an assist and was a plus-1 in Friday's win over the Flames.
Analysis: It's hard to trust Matt Tennyson with only three games under his belt, but he has two points, four shots, and is plus-1 in those three games. He's interesting for deep keeper leagues, but wait to see how his stats change once the Sharks aren't on a seven-game winning streak.

Sharks Recall Tennyson

News: The Sharks have recalled Matt Tennyson from AHL Worcester, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Matt Tennyson, who has recorded 27 points and 44 penalty minutes in 60 games for Worcester to date, has yet to make his NHL debut, but the Western Michigan product is one to watch, given that he possesses some potential as an offensive defenseman down the road.
