Blues' Morrow: In Lineup For Game 1

News: Brenden Morrow (foot) will be in the lineup for Thursday's Game 1 against the Blackhawks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Coach Ken Hitchcock indicated that the players who saw regular line work at Thursday's morning skate would play in Game 1, meaning that Brenden Morrow will check in as the third-line left wing. He missed the last three games of the regular season to finish with 13 goals and 12 assists over 71 contests.

Blues' Morrow Skates On Tuesday

News: Brenden Morrow (foot) skated with the Blues on Tuesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: While there were fears that Brenden Morrow may have suffered a fractured foot in practice last week, he still hopes to be ready for the team's playoff opener against Chicago on Thursday. "I got a couple of days to get a little better," Morrow said Tuesday. So I've got to knock the rust off and hopefully be ready on Thursday."

Blues' Morrow (Foot) Out Sunday

News: Brenden Morrow (foot) will sit in Sunday's regular season finale, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: With his foot injury he suffered on Friday and the fact he was seen in a walking boot, it's no surprise he will sit out the Blues' last regular season game. The question now is whether or not Brenden Morrow will be healthy enough to start the Blues' first playoff game.

Blues' Morrow Dealing With Foot Injury

News: Brenden Morrow (foot) was seen in a walking boot Friday, and he underwent some unspecified tests, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow suffered the injury during Thursday's practice and was not able to suit up for games on Thursday or Friday. He hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale, but also doesn't seem likely to play.

Blues ' Morrow Dealing With Foot Injury

News: Brenden Morrow suffered a foot injury during Thursday's morning skate, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The extent of Brenden Morrow's injury is uncertain, but he felt soreness while trying to warm up for Thursday's game, and was seen wearing a boot Friday morning. It remains to be seen if the setback will prevent Morrow from playing in Sunday's season finale or any playoff games.

Blues' Morrow Returns To Lineup Sunday

News: Brenden Morrow will rejoin the Blues lineup Sunday against Pittsburgh after being a healthy scratch Saturday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow will draw back in along with Max Lapierre who also spent last game in the press box. The two will supplant Dmitrij Jaskin and Derek Roy in the lineup and Morrow will skate with Patrik Berglund and Magnus Paajarvi on the third line

Blues' Morrow Healthy Scratch Thursday

News: Brenden Morrow will sit out Thursday's home affair against the Oilers as a healthy scratch, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The tremendous depth of the Blues affords them the luxury of resting their 35-year-old veteran. Coach Ken Hitchcock simply wants to ensure that the often banged-up Brenden Morrow is fresh for the playoffs, and stated that he plans to spot him a few more nights off before the postseason. Morrow's 59 games are the most he's played since 2010-2011 after being plagued on-and-off by back injuries, so there's definitely a method to Hitchcock's madness. Morrow has 21 points in a career-low 11:48 of average ice time this season.

Blues' Morrow Tallies Goal, Assist In Win

News: Brenden Morrow tallied his 10th goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's shootout win over the Jets.
Analysis: After having a hand in both of the Blues' first-period scores, Brenden Morrow was roughed up with a stick to the face, requiring a trip to the locker room. He was patched up and returned to the ice shortly thereafter, ending up with 13:23 of ice time. It was the most playing time he's received in a game since Dec. 16 against the Senators.

Blues' Morrow Scores Two

News: Brenden Morrow scored his third and fourth goals of the year in Tuesday's win over Buffalo.
Analysis: He'd picked up just one point -- an assist -- in four games since being activated from injured reserve, so this outburst comes as welcome news for Brenden Morrow's fantasy owners, who had previously seen him record just four points in 13 contests.

Blues' Morrow Activated From IR

News: The Blues activated Brenden Morrow (upper body) from injured reserve Monday, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow missed the last five games after suffering an upper-body injury in late October, but is set to return to action Tuesday night. He's been able to skate for a week, so it shouldn't take him long to get back to game speed if he isn't there already.

Blues' Morrow Making Progress

News: Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said Wednesday that Brenden Morrow (upper body) has skated each of the last three days, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow's recovery from an upper-body injury is progressing along, and while he'll be eligible to come off IR prior to Saturday's game, it's uncertain if he will.

Blues' Morrow Placed On IR With Upper-Body Injury

News: Brenden Morrow (upper body) was placed on injured reserve by the Blues on Monday.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow suffered an upper-body injury during practice last Wednesday, and he can now be ruled out for Tuesday's game in Montreal. The veteran forward has just three points through nine games in his first season with the Blues.

Blues' Morrow Will Not Play Friday

News: Brenden Morrow (upper body) will not play Friday against the Panthers, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Reports of an upper-body injury for Brenden Morrow surfaced Wednesday, and it's evidently bad enough to cost him one game. He has a chance, however, to rejoin the team in Montreal for Tuesday's game against the Canadiens.

Blues' Morrow Day-To-Day

News: Brenden Morrow missed Wednesday's practice with an upper body injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The Blues travel to Florida on Thursday, and there's no word yet on whether or not Brenden Morrow will make the trip. It's best to consider him questionable for Friday's matchup with the Panthers at this point.

Rare Goal For Blues' Morrow

News: Brenden Morrow scored just his second goal of the year in Tuesday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: He continues to skate flimsy minutes -- just 8:05 on Tuesday, his lowest total of the season despite the marker. Brenden Morrow still hasn't taken more than two shots on goal in a game and has all in all been a shadow of his former self since signing with the Blues just a week before the start of the season.

Blues' Morrow Good To Go For Friday

News: Brenden Morrow (neck) was a full participant in practice the last two days and will be available Friday against the Canucks, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford reports.
Analysis: A weeklong break in between games couldn't come at a better time for Brenden Morrow, who didn't dress for the Blues' shootout loss to the Jets last Friday due to the upper-body injury. Morrow has been limited to an average of just 11:25 of ice time over six games, down over three minutes from last season. If the trend continues, Morrow could have a difficult time surpassing the 25 points he posted in 2012-13.

Blues' Morrow Out Friday With Neck Injury

News: Brenden Morrow (neck) will not play Friday against the Jets, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jeremy Rutherford reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow ended up suiting up Thursday against the Blackhawks despite being a game-time decision heading into the game, but only saw 10:32 of ice time in the shootout win. Coach Ken Hitchcock said the Blues won't practice until Sunday, so he just wanted to give his forward Friday and Saturday off to afford him time to get closer to 100 percent healthy by the start of next week.

Blues' Morrow Will Play Thursday

News: Brenden Morrow (undisclosed) will play Thursday against the Blackhawks, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Ken Hitchcock put the ball in Brenden Morrow's court in regards to his availability for Thursday, and the 34-year-old said after morning skate that he feels well enough to play against Chicago. He was just dealing with some slight neck pain as a result of a collision during Tuesday's game.

News: Brenden Morrow (undisclosed) took part in Thursday's morning skate, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow was injured in a collision with the Sharks' Brent Burns on Tuesday, but it looks like he may not even miss a game. Coach Ken Hitchcock said that if Morrow feels good, he'll play Thursday against the Blackhawks.

News: Brenden Morrow (undisclosed) was not at practice Wednesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Blues' Morrow Will Play Thursday

News: Brenden Morrow (personal) will be in the lineup Thursday night against the Predators, John Kelly of FoxSports Midwest reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow finally got his work visa issue resolved, and will be able to suit up for Opening Night. His presence in the lineup means Vladimir Sobotka will be a healthy scratch, as originally planned.

Blues' Morrow To Sit Out Opener

News: Brenden Morrow (personal) was not on the ice for Thursday's morning skate and will presumably sit out the opener against the Predators, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: The team hasn't officially ruled out Brenden Morrow for Thursday, but he has yet to resolve his visa issue and seems unlikely to do so before the puck drops. Vladimir Sobotka is slated to step into Morrow's spot on the Blues' second line.

Blues' Morrow May Miss Opener

News: Brenden Morrow may miss the Blues season opener because of issues securing a work visa, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: This problem should eventually get worked out, but if Brenden Morrow isn't available for Thursday's game against the Panthers, head coach Ken Hitchcock indicated that Vladimir Sobotka would take Morrow's place in the lineup.

Blues Sign Morrow

News: Brenden Morrow has signed with the Blues, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports.
Analysis: The deal is reportedly worth $1.5 million for the upcoming season, while the fact that Brenden Morrow has a former head coach in Ken Hitchcock currently behind the bench for his new club might have ultimately been the deciding factor here in his decision to sign with the Blues. There is also a good chance that Morrow will end up handling a second-line role in St. Louis, where he may have been pushed to a checking-line spot for many other suitors.

Morrow Still Looking For Work

News: Brenden Morrow remains unsigned as the season draws closer, The Dallas Morning News reports. Said the veteran forward: "I feel I'll play somewhere this season at some time. I am confident in that. But I want it to be the right fit, where I can possibly be there for a little longer time, and where I feel confident I can help. That's what I'm looking for."
Analysis: We imagine someone will come calling as preseason injuries strike or teams realize they could use one more good all-around veteran and want to see what the 34-year-old Brenden Morrow's cost would look like. Morrow is pretty beat up for his age based on his style of play, but he can still play the game as exhibited by his 14 points in 15 games to end the regular season following his trade to the Penguins last season. Someone will come calling with a second- or third-line role. Morrow does not appear to be ready to jump at a salary or a situation that's not to his liking, however.
