Sabres' Tallinder Back In Thursday

News: Henrik Tallinder (lower body) will be in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder missed the previous four games with the injury, but he'll try to end the season on a high note. He has an ugly minus-21 rating on the season, but that's largely a byproduct of playing regularly for the league's worst team.

Sabres' Tallinder Could Play Thursday

News: Henrik Tallinder will likely be a game time decision Thursday against the Rangers.
Analysis: The blueliner collected two goals and five assists in 61 games before getting hurt April 1 against the Devils. If Henrik Tallinder is able to draw back into the lineup Thursday, expect him to play a depth role on the Sabres blue line.

Sabres' Tallinder Likely Out More Time

News: Coach Ted Nolan said on Sunday that Henrik Tallinder, who's missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, is expected to need more time off.
Analysis: Nolan was talking about forward Drew Stafford being a possibility for Tuesday's game against the Red Wings, then went on to say Henrik Tallinder would probably need more time. That means he's out Sunday and likely Tuesday at the very least, giving him just two more chances after that to get back there before the Sabres' miserable season ends.

Sabres' Tallinder Out Friday

News: Henrik Tallinder (lower body) will not play in Friday's game against Detroit.
Analysis: According to The Buffalo News, Henrik Tallinder participated in morning skate but left with an apparent lower-body injury.

Sabres' Tallinder Will Play Wednesday

News: After sitting out Tuesday's game, Henrik Tallinder will draw back into the lineup Wednesday against Boston, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder, who returned from Sochi on Monday and sat out Tuesday's game for a little rest, will replace John Scott in the lineup. Tallinder is a trade chip for the Sabres, and there will be a market for veteran defensemen like him. Fantasy-wise, Tallinder doesn't offer much, but if he gets traded to a good team, his stats will certainly improve.

Sabres' Tallinder In Line For Scratch

News: Henrik Tallinder is in line to sit out Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes, reports John Vogl of the Buffalo News.
Analysis: The report adds that John Scott will play defense Tuesday, while Henrik Tallinder -- who represented Sweden in the Olympics -- indicated that he will play Wednesday against the Bruins, according to Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News.

Sabres' Tallinder Misses Practice

News: Henrik Tallinder missed the Sabres' practice on Monday due to travel, reports Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: The Swedish Olympian is returning with a silver medal from Sochi, and will suit up for the Sabres on Tuesday. The veteran blueliner didn't play a big role for Team Sweden, but certainly will for the Sabres. The 34-year-old Henrik Tallinder is minus-15 on the season, but has plenty of experience and could be potential trade bait at the trade deadline. If he gets traded, his fantasy stock could increase. He has seven points on the season.

Sabres' Tallinder Stuck At Minus-15

News: Henrik Tallinder has compiled seven points and a minus-15 rating over 44 games this season.
Analysis: Aside from Christian Ehrhoff, the Sabres' losing ways have made it difficult to roster any of the team's defensemen given the hit that comes with their plus/minus. Henrik Tallinder will be locked into regular duty for the Sabres, but he doesn't score enough to make him a useful commodity across most formats.

Sabres' Tallinder Says He's Ready To Play

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) said he's ready to play Tuesday against the Panthers, John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports. Coach Ted Nolan later confirmed that Tallinder will play against Florida.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder returned to practice late last week, and he'll slot back into the lineup Tuesday following an eight-game absence. The 35-year-old has put up six points (2G, 4A) and a minus-12 rating in 34 games this season.

Sabres' Tallinder Takes The Ice

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) skated with the Sabres on Friday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: While Henrik Tallinder -- who has missed six games -- said that he won't be ready for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, he noted Friday that he hopes to play next week.

Sabres' Tallinder Named To Team Sweden

News: Henrik Tallinder was named to Team Sweden for the Sochi Olympics on Tuesday morning.
Analysis: Despite being injured, Henrik Tallinder was named to the Swedish Olympic team and will serve as one of the team's veterans. This will be the second appearance for the 34-year-old in the Olympics.

Sabres' Tallinder Could Be Out Two Weeks

News: Henrik Tallinder is dealing with an undisclosed injury he sustained Sunday against the Capitals and could miss about two weeks.
Analysis: The Sabres were rather mum on the news of any Henrik Tallinder injury after Sunday's contest, so the idea that he could be in line for a trip to IR comes as a surprise. As of yet, an official timetable for Tallinder's return hasn't been established, but the defenseman will at least not be available for Tuesday's contest against the Jets.

Sabres Name Tallinder Alternate Captain

News: Despite being a healthy scratch under former head coach Ron Rolston, Henrik Tallinder was awarded with an 'A' by new head coach Ted Nolan, reports the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: The Sabres had a spot open in their leadership group after co-captain Thomas Vanek was dealt to the Islanders. The 34-year-old Swedish defenseman is in his second tour of Buffalo after playing in New Jersey the past three seasons. Henrik Tallinder didn't get along with Devils head coach Peter DeBoer, which prompted a move back to the Sabres. On a young team, having a veteran like Tallinder is important, even if he no longer can be counted on to play tough minutes consistently. Tallinder's fantasy value is limited with Mark Pysyk, Christian Ehrhoff and Tyler Myers ahead of him on the depth chart.

Sabres' Tallinder To Return Saturday

News: Henrik Tallinder, who was a healthy scratch for Friday's win at Florida, will return to the lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Apparently there was no injury and the Sabres sat Henrik Tallinder on Friday because he struggled in the loss to Boston on Wednesday. With Mike Weber getting hurt Friday, there's room in Buffalo's lineup as the team continues to roll in a unique lineup with seven active defensemen.

Sabres' Tallinder To Be Scratched Friday

News: Henrik Tallinder will not play in Friday's game at Florida, according to John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder was getting looked at during the Sabres' loss to Boston on Wednesday, so while no announcement has been made concerning an injury we'll assume that may have something to do with the scratch, even if it's just a minor ailment and the team is using it a chance to keep working an eight-man defensive rotation.

Sabres' Tallinder Set To Return

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) is scheduled to play Monday against Minnesota after missing the team's last four games, WGR 550 reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder will be paired with usual partner Tyler Myers. The veteran Swede isn't much of a scorer at this stage of his career, but Tallinder has clearly made Myers a better player in his two stints with the Sabres. Myers had no points and a minus-5 rating in the last four games with Tallinder out.

Sabres' Tallinder Could Return Monday

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) was skating with Tyler Myers during the morning skate and could be back in the lineup with him Monday against Minnesota, Bill Hoppe of the Times-Record reports.
Analysis: An official announcement should come between the conclusion of the morning skate and game time Monday night. Henrik Tallinder has missed four games with the injury thus far.

Sabres' Tallinder Out Saturday

News: Coach Ron Rolston said Friday that Henrik Tallinder (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Blackhawks, the Sabres' official site reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder's injury will force him to miss a fourth consecutive game. However, Rolston did suggest that Tallinder could return to the ice for Monday's home game against the Wild.

Sabres' Tallinder Iffy For Saturday

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) skated in a red, non-contact jersey again Friday, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Harrington writes that Henrik Tallinder's limited practice participation Friday indicates that the defenseman is unlikely to play Saturday night against the Blackhawks. The team has not confirmed that one way or another, but it appears that he'll have to make significant progress between now and Saturday night in order to avoid missing his fourth straight game.

Sabres' Tallinder Skates Thursday

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) skated in a non-contact jersey during Thursday's morning session, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder has already been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, but his involvement on the ice bodes well for his chances of returning Saturday against the Blackhawks. He'll be missing his third straight game due to the upper-body injury.

Sabres' Tallinder Could Return Saturday

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) worked out Wednesday morning and is expected to be available Saturday against the Blackhawks, the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: A Saturday return would have Henrik Tallinder available after sitting out a week, just as coach Ron Rolston projected last weekend. Tallinder was kept off the score sheet in his first two games of the season but notched two PIM.

Sabres Place Tallinder On Injured Reserve

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) was officially placed on IR on Tuesday by the Sabres, according to Bill Hoppe of the Times Herald.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder was already expected to miss about a week of action, but the official move allows the Sabres to active Marcus Foligno off the same list ahead of Tuesday game against the Lightning.

Sabres' Tallinder Expected To Miss Saturday's Game

News: Henrik Tallinder, who suffered an upper-body injury during Friday's loss to Ottawa, is not expected to play Saturday in Pittsburgh, WGR550.com reports.
Analysis: It's unknown how much more time Henrik Tallinder will miss, but his usual spot next to Tyler Myers is expected to go to Jamie McBain for this one.

Sabres' Tallinder To Miss Week Of Action

News: Henrik Tallinder (upper body) is expected to miss about a week of action, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder had already been ruled out of Saturday's game after exiting Friday with the injury, and it appears he'll now get a few extra days beyond that to rest. In the meantime, Jamie McBain will assume Tallinder's ice time as a part of the second defensive pairing with Tyler Myers.

Sabres Lose Tallinder In Loss To Sens

News: Henrik Tallinder did not return during the third period of Friday's loss to Ottawa after suffering an upper-body injury, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Henrik Tallinder isn't much of a scorer, but it's thought he was brought back to Buffalo to help get talented blueliner Tyler Myers back on track, so hopefully this isn't too serious of an injury. The rebuilding Sabres already have a pretty big injury heap piling up.
