Wild's Granlund Contributes Assist In Game 6 Win

News: Mikael Granlund posted a secondary assist in Sunday's win over the Blues.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund is a proven playmaker, as evidenced by his 80 assists from the past two seasons combined. He'll look to carry the positive momentum over to the next series, against the Blackhawks.

Wild's Granlund Contributes In Win

News: Mikael Granlund tallied a pair of assists and a plus-3 rating in Monday's Game 3 victory over the Blues.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund finished the regular season strong with a point in five of his final six contests and his playoff campaign has picked up where he left off as he's totaled three points through the three games thus far. The 23-year-old's scoring wasn't consistent enough over the course of the season to earn much consideration outside of deeper leagues, but he finished the year with a plus-17 rating and is now up to plus-4 in the playoffs, giving him some value in that department.

Assists Coming In For Wild's Granlund

News: Mikael Granlund recorded an assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Predators.
Analysis: The 23-year-old has supplied five points (one goal, four assists) in his last seven game, giving the Wild an effective 1-2 punch with Mikko Koivu at the top two center spots heading into the postseason. While Mikael Granlund's 38 points put him on track to fall short of last season's mark of 41, his plus-18 rating has more than made amends for the slight scoring drop.

Wild's Granlund Registers Assist In Loss

News: Mikael Granlund registered an assist in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: The 23-year-old hasn't taken the leap forward some might have hoped for this season, as he's posted 35 points through 65 games after contributing 41 through the same amount of contests in 2013-14. However, his overall fantasy value has probably still grown from a year ago, largely by virtue of his sterling plus-17 rating. Mikael Granlund is quality roster filler in mid-sized or deeper leagues, but it might still take another year or two for him to realize his ceiling.

Wild's Granlund Distributes Puck In Loss

News: Mikael Granlund assisted on both Minnesota goals -- one on the power play -- in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals.
Analysis: He'd gone three straight off the scoresheet -- including going without a shot in the last two -- entering Thursday's action, but you can't keep a slick playmaker like Mikael Granlund down for long. Still, this has been a bit of a disappointing campaign for the 23-year-old, as he owns only a modest 32 points in 57 games, a scoring rate lower than last year's. A cool start to the year and a wrist injury derailed this campaign to some degree, but he's still got as much long-term upside as anyone.

WiId's Granlund Nets GWG Vs. Canes

News: Mikael Granlund scored the game-winning goal and had an assist in Friday's win over Carolina.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund has heated up of late, recording a plus-7 rating in his last three games and compiling 11 points in his last 11 games. Centering the top line with Zach Parise and Jason Pominville, Granlund is worth looking at right now, as he's an elite playmaker and has a very unique skill set. Keep in mind that while he sports an impressive plus-16 rating, he's only picked up 12 PIM and rarely shoots the puck. If you're looking for points though, give the 23-year-old a look.

Wild's Granlund Plays Setup Man Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund set up both of Matt Dumba's goals, accounting for all of the Wild's offense in regulation, Tuesday in a shootout win over Ottawa.
Analysis: He's got three helpers in the last two games and seven points in his last six, with a plus-6 rating and six PIM in that span to boot. It's been a disappointing campaign for Mikael Granlund, who's missed time to injury and owns only six goals and 27 points in 49 games, but he can erase the bad memories with a strong finish to the season. At just 23 years old, he's got plenty of upside that's yet to be realized, as Granlund was a point-per-game producer as a teenager in the Finnish professional league.

Wild's Granlund Post Three Points In Win

News: Mikael Granlund scored his sixth goal of the season and added two assist in Sunday's win over Dallas.
Analysis: Grandlun now has six points in his last five games and is up to 24 points in 45 games on the season. While he rarely shoots the puck, Mikael Granlund is sporting an impressive plus-10 rating and has put up decent numbers in his third NHL season. Skating on a line with Zach Parise, Granlund is capable of racking up the assists if his linemates are on their games.

Wild's Granlund Gathers Two Helpers, Goes Plus-3

News: Mikael Granlund recorded two assists and went plus-3 in Saturday's victory over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: The two assists helped Mikael Granlund snap a four-game point drought. Because he doesn't attempt many shots of his own, Granlund's production is often dependent on the quality of the players around him. He'll need linemate Tomas Vanek to stay hot if he hopes to begin collecting assists again with more frequency.

Wild's Granlund Helps Out Twice

News: Mikael Granlund picked up two assists -- on at even strength and one with the extra skater -- in Sunday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: The power-play assist was just Mikael Granlund's fourth of the season. The 22-year-old remains roster-worthy in mid-sized formats, but it doesn't appear that the breakout some might have hoped for in his third NHL season will materialize in 2014-15.

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday.

Wild's Granlund To Return Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Oilers, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund has missed nearly a month due to his wrist injury, but appears ready to return to the lineup after practicing Monday. The 22-year-old center has posted 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 32 games this season, and will look to add to his totals when the second half kicks off this week. He remains listed on injured reserve for the time being, but Granlund's formal activation should come following Tuesday's gameday skate.

Wild's Granlund May Play Tuesday

News: Coach Mike Yeo indicated that Mikael Granlund (wrist) could play Tuesday against Detroit.

Wild's Granlund Not Quite Ready

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) won't play Monday against Columbus.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo relayed that Mikael Granlund wasn't involved in any contact drills during Sunday's practice, however at this point, the team has yet to rule Granlund out for Tuesday's game against Detroit.

Granlund Back At Practice For Wild

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) participated in practice Sunday, Rachel Blount of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: His presence at practice Sunday is a step in the right direction for Mikael Granlund -- who last suited up on Dec. 27 -- but it remains to be seen whether he will see action in either of the Wild's two games in advance of the NHL All Star break.

Wild's Granlund May Practice Sunday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) will be evaluated by a doctor Saturday to see if he can be cleared to begin practicing Sunday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: If Mikael Granlund is able to begin practicing with the team on Sunday, he may be able to play in one, and perhaps even two games before the NHL All-Star break. He'd likely be a long shot to suit up Monday against Columbus, but a better chance to play may come Tuesday, when the Wild take on the Red Wings in their last game before the break.

Wild's Granlund (Wrist) May Skate Saturday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) may resume practicing with the Wild on Sunday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It remains how much contact (if any) Mikael Granlund will be able to take upon skating with the team, but in any case, it doesn't sound like the Wild are closing the door on him returning before the All-Star break. Team doctors have to wait and see how he makes it through Sunday's session before determining whether he'll realistically be an option for either of the Wild's final two games before the break, scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday.

Wild's Granlund Will Miss Four Weeks

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) is expected to miss the next four weeks due to his injury.

Wild's Granlund (Upper Body) Placed On IR

News: Mikael Granlund (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
Analysis: The IR placement is retroactive to Saturday, meaning Mikael Granlund will be forced to sit out at least the next four games with the injury. Given that coach Mike Yeo indicated after Saturday's game that Granlund was being viewed as "out indefinitely," it's very likely that he'll remain out of commission for beyond the seven-day minimum. In order to cover for Granlund's absence, the Wild added centers Tyler Graovac and Brett Sutter to their 23-man roster.

Wild's Granlund Out With Upper Body Injury

News: Mikael Granlund left Saturday's loss to Winnipeg with a upper body injury. He'll miss Monday's game and head coach Mike Yeo said he's out indefinitely, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund had scored his first goal since Nov. 28 before departing with an apparent hand injury. It's not clear how long he'll be out.

Wild's Granlund (Illness) To Return Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund (illness) will return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund's illness will ultimately hold him out of one game barring a change prior to Tuesday's contest. In 30 games this season, the 22-year-old has three goals and 10 assists, averaging 18:37 of ice time.

Wild's Granlund Out With Illness

News: Mikael Granlund is ill and will not play Saturday against the Predators, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Although the immediate reaction might be: "Mumps!" - that's not the case here. Mikael Granlund fell victim to the stomach ailment that has claimed four other victims in the Minnesota locker room. He'll have a few days to recover before the Wild's next game Tuesday against the Flyers. Justin Fontaine will replace Granlund in the lineup.
