Wild's Granlund To Return Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Oilers, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund has missed nearly a month due to his wrist injury, but appears ready to return to the lineup after practicing Monday. The 22-year-old center has posted 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 32 games this season, and will look to add to his totals when the second half kicks off this week. He remains listed on injured reserve for the time being, but Granlund's formal activation should come following Tuesday's gameday skate.

Wild's Granlund May Play Tuesday

News: Coach Mike Yeo indicated that Mikael Granlund (wrist) could play Tuesday against Detroit.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund won't play Monday against Columbus, but it looks like there's a chance that he may be able to squeeze one game in before the NHL All-Star break.

Wild's Granlund Not Quite Ready

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) won't play Monday against Columbus.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo relayed that Mikael Granlund wasn't involved in any contact drills during Sunday's practice, however at this point, the team has yet to rule Granlund out for Tuesday's game against Detroit.

Granlund Back At Practice For Wild

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) participated in practice Sunday, Rachel Blount of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: His presence at practice Sunday is a step in the right direction for Mikael Granlund -- who last suited up on Dec. 27 -- but it remains to be seen whether he will see action in either of the Wild's two games in advance of the NHL All Star break.

Wild's Granlund May Practice Sunday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) will be evaluated by a doctor Saturday to see if he can be cleared to begin practicing Sunday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: If Mikael Granlund is able to begin practicing with the team on Sunday, he may be able to play in one, and perhaps even two games before the NHL All-Star break. He'd likely be a long shot to suit up Monday against Columbus, but a better chance to play may come Tuesday, when the Wild take on the Red Wings in their last game before the break.

Wild's Granlund (Wrist) May Skate Saturday

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) may resume practicing with the Wild on Sunday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It remains how much contact (if any) Mikael Granlund will be able to take upon skating with the team, but in any case, it doesn't sound like the Wild are closing the door on him returning before the All-Star break. Team doctors have to wait and see how he makes it through Sunday's session before determining whether he'll realistically be an option for either of the Wild's final two games before the break, scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday.

Wild's Granlund Will Miss Four Weeks

News: Mikael Granlund (wrist) is expected to miss the next four weeks due to his injury.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund was placed on IR on Sunday, but there was no word at that time on exactly how long he'd be out. The team announced Monday that Granlund underwent a successful surgery on his wrist, and won't be available until late January.

Wild's Granlund (Upper Body) Placed On IR

News: Mikael Granlund (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
Analysis: The IR placement is retroactive to Saturday, meaning Mikael Granlund will be forced to sit out at least the next four games with the injury. Given that coach Mike Yeo indicated after Saturday's game that Granlund was being viewed as "out indefinitely," it's very likely that he'll remain out of commission for beyond the seven-day minimum. In order to cover for Granlund's absence, the Wild added centers Tyler Graovac and Brett Sutter to their 23-man roster.

News: Mikael Granlund left Saturday's loss to Winnipeg with a upper body injury. He'll miss Monday's game and head coach Mike Yeo said he's out indefinitely, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund had scored his first goal since Nov. 28 before departing with an apparent hand injury. It's not clear how long he'll be out.

Wild's Granlund (Illness) To Return Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund (illness) will return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund's illness will ultimately hold him out of one game barring a change prior to Tuesday's contest. In 30 games this season, the 22-year-old has three goals and 10 assists, averaging 18:37 of ice time.

Wild's Granlund Questionable With Illness

Wild's Granlund Out With Illness

News: Mikael Granlund is ill and will not play Saturday against the Predators, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Although the immediate reaction might be: "Mumps!" - that's not the case here. Mikael Granlund fell victim to the stomach ailment that has claimed four other victims in the Minnesota locker room. He'll have a few days to recover before the Wild's next game Tuesday against the Flyers. Justin Fontaine will replace Granlund in the lineup.

Wild's Granlund Ready To Play Tuesday

News: Mikael Granlund did not practice Monday, but is expected to play Tuesday in Chicago, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: Head coach Mike Yeo described Mikael Granlund's day-off Monday as a maintenance day, which fully supports the idea that he'll be ready to roll against the Blackhawks at the United Center on Tuesday night.

Wild's Granlund Collects Two Helpers

News: Mikael Granlund picked up a pair of assists in Friday's loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund now has three goals and 12 points in 25 games, to go with a plus-4 rating. At only 22 years of age, many projected Granlund would break out this season after posing a career-high 41 points in 63 games in 2013-14. That simply hasn't been the case, as Granlund is on pace for just nine goals and 38 points in 2014-15. Don't be worried, though, as Granlund is playing on the top line with Zach Parise and Jason Pominville, meaning he should be able to start producing more frequently.

Wild's Granlund Snipes Game Winner

News: Mikael Granlund sniped the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Stars. It was his second point in as many games.
Analysis: Considered a major breakout candidate this year, Mikael Granlund has largely disappointed to this point, notching just two goals and five assists through 16 games. However, owners shouldn't give up on him just yet, as stud linemate Zach Parise (concussion) is due back soon, so Granlund should starting finding his way onto the scoresheet with more frequency -- especially with the similarly offensively-capable Jason Pominville flanking him on the other wing once Parise returns.

Wild's Granlund Gets First Power-Play Point

News: Mikael Granlund assisted on Nino Niederreiter's first-period power-play goal in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: The assist gave Mikael Granlund his first point on the man advantage over 15 games this season, a far cry from the 12 points he amassed on the power play in 63 games in 2013-14. With just six points total this season, the 22-year-old Granlund hasn't taken the step forward in his development that the Wild were banking on just yet. He remains surrounded by talent on both his second line and on the power play, but he could see if his ice time dwindle if he fails to begin producing on a regular basis.

News: Mikael Granlund scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's win over Dallas.
Analysis: After a slow start with just two points in his first six games, Mikael Granlund has three points in his last four games.

Wild's Granlund Gets Assist In Loss

News: Mikael Granlund gathered his third assist of the season in Monday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: The assist ended a five-game pointless streak for Mikael Granlund. He's managed to maintain a plus-6 rating for the season despite the diminished production of late, but his lack of success on the power play -- where he tallied 10 of his assists and 12 points total as a rookie -- has been noticeable. The Wild have yet to cash in on any of their 24 opportunities with the man advantage this season.

Wild's Granlund Posts Two Assists

News: Mikael Granlund had two assists and three shots on goal in Thursday's win over Colorado.
Analysis: Mikael Granlund picked up right where he left off last season when he had 21 points in his last 25 regular season games. It looks like he could continue to improve rapidly this season.
